We are located in a quiet seaside community. Local beaches, winery, general store, gas station, hiking, supermarket and churches are within ten minutes. Newport R.I. and Providence R.I. is a thirty five minute drive. Cape Cod, Ma is approximately a one hour drive. Our guest suite is an open concept with twelve hundred square feet. There are two private bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen bed while the second bedroom has two twin beds. The spacious bathroom has laundry facilities. The full kitchen comes complete with all the cooking pans and utensils you would need. This suite is located on the second floor and comes with a private entrance. Host live on site and will be available for questions and or guidance of the local area.

This was the perfect location, removed from hustle & bustle, but close enough to drive to attractions. This is an excellent getaway for families of all ages pursuing summer’s fun on the beach and enjoying coastal serenity and natural beauty - Biking, surfing, swimming, fishing/shellfishing, boating, Kayaking/canoeing, and birding, or simply relaxing on the beach. A new bike path built by the state of Mass in 2020 in front of the street passes the beach, bay, and harbor leading to Gooseberry Island.
“The Let” offers activities such as kayaking, canoeing, shell fishing/fishing, or birding. Bring your own kayak or canoe and launch them at the Emma Tripp Landing on East Beach Road nearby. Our guests are welcome to use our kayaks and launch on the salt marsh in the backyard. Or simply walk in the backyard on the salt marsh or the shorelines for fishing crabs, mussels, oysters, scallops, and clams (locally called Quahog) (subject to state and local rules/licenses).
Ocean-going boats can be launched at two public boat launching sites/ramps nearby, at John Reed Road/Westport Bridge and at Gooseberry Island.
The 600-acre Horseneck beach reservation with a 2-mile beachfront offers one of the best surfing sites in the State of Massachusetts. Open to the public (fees).

In 2022 a four-season sunroom was added. Starting 2025
the house has its new water storage and supply system. Portable water is brought in from a neighboring town. In-house water is no longer from a private well on site which has high tannins.

All you have to do is park the car and leave it! Our house is just steps to the beach. You can spend your days sitting on the beach, or walking the more than 2 miles of shoreline. We love to end the day with an outdoor shower and a cookout in the yard. Don’t want to cook? The Back Eddy restaurant is a 5 minute walk away. The highly rated restaurant sits on the Westport River, and Westport is attracting more foodies all the time for its cuisine.

Our house has wonderful bamboo floors, open floor plan, and great space for socializing and sleeping. You and your family will love staying at our great house!

If the opportunity is available, you might want to explore our wonderful region by car? There are a number of great choices close by. Take a ride to old Westport village, do your shopping at Lee’s market, or stop by the many open farmer’s markets along the roads. The Westport Winery and the Buzzard’s Bay Brewing Company are only minutes away. Wonderful trail walks are available close by at Gooseberry Island and the Allen’s Pond Wildlife Sanctuary.

Take a Ride or a Daytrip Too
If you would like to travel a little farther, the wonderful Sakonnet Vineyard in Little Compton, or the historic Padanaram Village in South Dartmouth are within 20 minutes. The malls in Dartmouth and Fall River offer a variety of shopping and restaurant options. If you would like to take a day trip, a ride to Newport with its grand harbor and historic mansions is a must. You can also take the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard from New Bedford or visit Block Island from either Fall River or Newport.

Paul was so incredibly gracious and welcoming throughout. I could tell he genuinely wanted us to have a great time. On arrival the place was spotlessly clean and as advertised. The manual provided was very informative. This allowed us to settle in easily and be right on the beach which is a couple hundred yards away. The walk is on one road that has almost zero cars and over a short dune area. The beach is beautiful. Wide open water, sand for a mile or two in each direction. My wife jogged the beach every morning and I swam every day. The bike path also starts right here and is really nice. Throughout the week at the house we were incredibly comfortable. The HVAC system is perfect. I watched playoff baseball most nights on the 70 inch or so TV while plopped on the couch. Back Eddy is a short walk down the road for dinner or a drink which we did on Saturday night. Also my in laws came for two days and nights and were really impressed by the place and were very comfortable. We spent one day at the beach and one day touring local farms. The house, the location are really hard to beat. Can't recommend Paul enough as a host."

This large, Federal period residence was built in 1814 by Samuel Church, a local merchant who settled in Adamsville in the late 1700’s. The home changed families many times, but remains one of the most prominent homes in Adamsville. We purchased the property in the fall of 2016, remodeled the home, and began hosting families in the spring of 2017. While the home retains many of it's original features, the kitchens and bathrooms are brand new, as is the central air conditioning & heating system.

The space
Guests will experience what it is like to live in an actual Lighthouse. The views are stunning from every direction. There is a large lawn, perfect for family gatherings and a large patio for outdoor dining and entertaining. A beach immediately adjacent is ideal for fishing and sunbathing. The living room is super comfortable with ample seating. The Kitchen has all the modern conveniences and a utility room with a washer/dryer. Downstairs there is a bedroom with two twin beds (easily converted to a king upon request), and the bathroom with a shower. There is also a super fun outdoor shower. On the second floor there is a spacious master bedroom with a romantic iron bed and a balcony with seating to watch sunrise to the right and sunset to the left. There is also a half bath and what we call the "napping' room where one can read a book, watch tv or just nap!. From the "napping" room it's up a sturdy ladder to a bunk room. From the bunk room there is another ladder through a bulkhead hatch to the lantern room. A conservatory like space enclosed with windows offering breathtaking 360 degree views of Narragansett Bay.

Whether visiting family and friends, looking to experience all New England has to offer or simply looking to relax, the Bristol Lighthouse is an ideal place to stay. Close to the Mount Hope Bridge it is within easy access to Downtown Bristol, the quintessential New England waterfront Town steeped in History and fortunate to have a great many restaurants. Looking to be active, enjoy a bike ride to Warren , walk in Colt State park or play Pickleball on the Common. For a little more people interaction, cross the bridge and visit Newport, famous for its mansions, shopping and scenery. Newport is also know for hosting the Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz festival.

We have lots of big beach towels and there is plenty of room to store your rental bikes on the back porch. You’re a short walk to delicious coffee and treats at Grays Daily Grind and a short drive to all the surrounding beaches and sights. Keep in mind this is a rental and there are NO FOOD ITEMS IN THE KITCHEN. Please bring everything you need and remove all food items when you leave. We prefer an empty fridge for our next guests.

Located a few miles (7 min. drive) from the Westport River and Horseneck Beach… well known for it’s five mile stretch of ocean surf & sand.

The house is a fairly newly constructed 900 sq. ft. house with a large wraparound deck overlooking gardens, woods and Nature. It its filled with light from skylights and glass sliders. The entire home is furnished with unique pieces and artifacts from world travels.

Master bedroom en suite has an adjustable Queen bed, gas fireplace & Cable TV. Master Bath has a whirlpool tub & shower.

Upon request there is an additional single sofa bed available for an occasional overnight visitor. A full guest bathroom with shower is located in the same sun drenched area.

Laundry washer & dryer are located in this space as well.

The house design is “Open” with 15 ft. ceilings with fans and central air-conditioning. The “Great Room” includes the LR, Dining, and fully equipped kitchen areas. The double sided gas fireplace is located in the Great room & master bedroom which adds to the special ambiance and can be used year round.

Very private second floor space in Little Compton, close to the village of Adamsville. There is one bedroom with a queen bed. The home is accessed through an exterior set of stairs around the back of the home. The first floor is unoccupied, so you have this entire home to yourselves. The entire view from the deck is of woods and a historic cemetery. Little Compton is a small quiet town with multiple beaches close by. It is an excellent place for bike riding and we have many hiking trails.

Sakonnet Farm & Stay’s Cleaning Protocol

During the COVID19 Pandemic, we have modified our cleaning guidelines to include even more vigorous sanitization and disinfection practices. Kristin is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has assisted in keeping her surgical office open during this pandemic, keeping her staff and patients safe and healthy.

We have just a couple of us that perform all our cleaning. We have discussed not cleaning if we are not feeling well ourselves, proper use of PPE, proper use of all chemicals, and disposing of all trash, cleaning supplies and biohazards appropriately.

Cleaning is defined by the CDC as “the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.” Disinfection is defined by the CDC as “a process that eliminates many or all pathogenic microorganisms.” Sterilization is defined by the CDC as “a process that destroys or eliminates all forms of microbial life” - so this would be appropriate in health care facilities, not in homes.

We have changed our cleaning products to use products listed on the EPA’s list that are effective to this COVID virus. We are using these chemicals to clean and disinfect as per the directions on the individual chemicals.

We are paying close attention to high touch surfaces including door knobs, light switches, stair railings, remote controls, arms of chairs, appliance handles, toilets, and faucets. These surfaces will all be wiped with a disinfection solution.

We are asking our guests to turn on the HVAC air circulation upon leaving our home, and opening the windows when appropriate. Our cleaners will also do this if not done before they arrive.

All bedding will be changed between guests, including the quilt/comforter and mattress pad. They will be laundered at the highest recommended temperature before being returned to the home.

Virus particles do not live long on soft surfaces such as upholstery. Viruses in general do not live long on any surfaces that are porous, with holes or microscopic grooves.

We have put away most of our decorative pillows and extra throw blankets for our guest’s safety. If our guests use any of the spare blankets we have in the closet, we are requesting they leave them out on the bed so we know they need to be laundered.

Our neighbors are important to us and assuring that the property is only visited by appreciative and respectful guests is our number 1 priority outside of safety. We take hosting guests very seriously and want to make sure guests have the best experience but must insist that our guests 100% respect the Middletown ordinances and peace and serenity that the area affords. Any over-crowding or violation of house rules and zoning ordinance is strictly enforced very quickly. Please note the noise ordinance begins at 10pm.

Summer 2024 reservations are NOW AVAILABLE!! Cleaning fee is included in rate! Westport is great during the Spring, Summer and Fall. Within a reasonably short drive you can visit Boston, Plymouth, Providence, Newport, Mystic, Fall River, New Bedford, Cape Cod and get shuttles out of either New Bedford or Woods Hole to Martha's Vinyard and Nantucket. There are many great day trips from your Westport vacation spot!

Great kitchen, living space & 2 big decks overlooking harbor & private pool (July & August, only). 2 full baths, outdoor shower & big yard. Contemporary decor with ss appliances including d/w & clothes w/d & central A/C. Westport is a great Massachusetts town without tourists' overload!
