Warm and inviting. The cottage has the feeling of getting away but being close to it all.
The property has a calming vibe and don’t be surprised if you see little bunnies, birds, and even deer walking through.💗 Relax and unwind under the pergola. Plenty of cooking pots and pans were also stocked, though we did not have time to cook. The home itself is a mixture of old and new, a quirky cute cottage feel, and the quirkiness just added to the charm of our vintage New England experience. Nice backyard with fire pit, (though we did not have time to do a fire either) The beds were comfortable with nice blankets etc. We wish the owners success in their VRBO business."

This is a brand new Post and Beam style cottage with 2 bedrooms and sleeps 5 comfortably. Open floor plan and large deck over looking a pasture. Built on a 5 acre farm just 10 minutes to local beaches, you will experience old South County living, surrounded by working farms with peace and quiet away from the crowds. A short drive gets you to local beaches. The Galilee Fishing Port is nearby with a very active and productive fishing fleet, one of the biggest in the U.S. The Block Island Ferry is also located in Galilee. Downtown Wakefield is 5 minutes away with local shops,restaurants and markets. Newport is a 25 minute ride, The University of Rhode Island is 10 minutes and Providence is 30 minutes. Sadly our beloved donkey Duke has passed away. We still have our free roaming chickens.

The views are amazing! Love waking up to the boats and ferries and sitting out on the deck in the evenings and listening to the waves. The walk to the beach was one of many reasons why we will continue to come back here! Quick and easy and after dinner we go back so our boys can run on the beach and we can watch the sunset We love using the clamming rakes that are provided and going clamming. We spent mornings on the back deck with coffee and evenings with wine. It was perfectly situated for breezes and partial sun. We mostly used the outdoor shower and loved it. The location is superb being only about 100 yards to the beach through your own private hedge tunnel. It is also close to Rte 1 making all of southern RI very accessible. A theater and one-mile field trail are located at the end of the drive. The beach is a mix of sand and stone (rounded stone) which thins the crowds, but adds to privacy. Waves are usually good - bring water shoes. We were comfortable with four people in the first floor rental. The lodging is simple and clean, and if you like, you can listen to the waves all evening. Shelagh, the host, was welcoming and very helpful on local activities. We do recommend the rental and will likely be back."

There is only one bathroom in the house on the first floor but I do try to work around everyone's needs as I know they are mostly here for vacation.

Also includes a queen size bed, walk-in shower, leather reading chair, loveseat, 40” television with Direct TV, Free HBO, Apple TV, Netflix, HBO Max & Amazon Prime. Outside deck furniture (available in the Spring, Summer & Early Fall). Compact refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker and hot water maker with coffee/tea, toaster, counter top convection oven, electric griddle, counter top induction cooking burner, microwave, a few pans, blender and continental breakfast.

We are a non-smoking and pets are not allowed - providing a great place for people with allergies. We do have two golden retrievers (Lexie & Milo) in our home but they are never in the studio and we keep them away from our guests - unless the guests ask to see or pet them.

There is an opening in the shrubs ahead along RV parking area. This is the walk on area. about 1/3 mile. If you get to the Vanilla bean, you have gone to far. If you have mobility issues you will need to purchase a parking pass which can be obtained at the town beach on a first come first serve basis. We do not provide daily parking passes.

East beach, the state beach is a bit longer of a walk but doable for most. Out the building to the left heading to deep hole. Follow road as it bends to the left, follow Ocean Ave to the waterfront access.

Our Honey Bee Cottage is a freshly renovated charming cottage. The attic bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed with lovely linens. It has an adorable equipped kitchen with stove, oven, toaster, microwave, Keurig, french press, small washer/dryer wood floors throughout. A comfy living room and deck with a small private fenced in garden/yard area to sip wine or drink coffee. The cottage sits on a dead end country lane facing the abutting farm meadow and is a great place to relax after a day at the beach or a jaunt to Newport or Block Island. It sits right next door to your host and is a guest cottage with its own driveway and fenced private yard and deck. This is a very special getaway with everything you need to be comfortable and cozy. Of note, the staircase up to the attic bedroom, which does have a rail, is narrow and steep and therefore would not be appropriate for those with walking, climbing or balance issues. Also taller folks beware, the attic ceilings are slanted and lower so care must be taken when getting out of bed. This is a tiny home so everything is tiny, tiny bathroom, etc. This is a sweet little cottage, but not for everyone! We are within walking distance to the town beach. Walk on the side walk right side of road toward the Ocean mist. You will come to a sign Karen's crosswalk and see a painted crossing area on the road. It is the second cross walk from the apartment. This is before the road bends to the right. There is an opening in the shrubs ahead along RV parking area. This is the walk on area. about 1/3 mile. If you get to the Vanilla bean, you have gone to far. If you have mobility issues you will need to purchase a parking pass which can be obtained at the town beach on a first come first serve basis. We do not provide daily parking passes.

East beach, the state beach is a bit longer of a walk but doable for most. Out the building to the left heading to deep hole. Follow road as it bends to the left, follow Ocean Ave to the waterfront access.

Other things to note
There isn't a package store in Matunuck within walking/ biking distance.

The Offshore is a newly built, airy and clean one bedroom apartment above a modern carriage house fully stocked with all of the comforts of home. The apartment is centrally located and serves as an ideal landing spot for a southern Rhode Island getaway. You have the option to take the bike path to many beaches and Narragansett Pier or walk two blocks to Main Street Wakefield for a morning coffee at Caf Bar, Phils or South Country Bread Company and post beach ice cream at Brickley's.

The space
Apartment is located above a stand alone garage with a full kitchen, one bedroom with a workspace, living room, large bathroom and a patio for outdoor dining. The space features prints from local photographer. You will have the entire apartment for your use but you will not have access to the garage. . There is off street parking for one car.

Guest access
Located in a quiet neighborhood filled with updated historic homes. Location is two blocks to food, bars, grocery store, parks, and the beach. Rent bikes from bike shop one block away so you can enjoy the bike path which you can access across the street and ride to URI or the beach! Off street parking is available for one car.

This 1940's farm cottage sits surrounded by open space. The area is in the Saugatucket River valley, in a little known hamlet called Mooresfield. This home is a rustic mini-working farm. There are many gardens and outdoor spaces here to enjoy peacefully after a long day of adventure. With a Central South County location. it is close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, rail, URI, and all points north and south. Newport is a scenic 20 minutes away.

The space
"The Keep" is a small cottage that sits on 1.5 acres surrounded by a Christmas tree plantation. You will have the entire top floor which, although rustic in nature, offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. The house is small but open and bright with lots of light. The bathroom is oversized, and the back deck offers more living space out of doors. Note that I am often staying at the property in a separate downstairs unit, but respect the space and privacy of my guests. One of the things I love about this space is the privacy from neighbors, and the nature that surrounds. The back yard feels like an oasis miles from nowhere, yet you are a 15 minute car ride to everything South County offers.

Top floor space - This home sits back and up from the road and has plenty of off street parking. There are stairs that lead up to your private deck space and cottage access. Guests are free to roam the property. The separate space below is an office and efficiency reserved for my use. Due to the rural nature of the property, a car or uber would be needed to get around. Most storied destinations are only a 5 to 20 minute car ride away. The main N/S highway 1 is just 5 minutes up the street. In the other direction, the road leads to the heart of the area business district (Wakefield) 10 minutes away. You can stock up and never go to the store, or "run into town" for a last minute item. URI campus, NOAA, Oceanography Grad school, Golf courses, RI's best Beaches, Historical Museums, Great restaurants, Farmers markets, the Block Island Ferry, Newport Bridge - all within a 15 mile radius of this home base.

Beach chairs and Beach towels are provided upon request. Off street parking available. Linens and towels are included, and for stays of over a week can be exchanged. The rural road is sometimes busy due to our central location, but this also makes any commute super easy, 5 minutes to Rt 1 N and S! We love to host! Attention is paid to detail to create a home away from home. There are few places in South County with both solitude of landscape and proximity to area attractions! The outside world is full of adventure, but you come back to a retreat.

The main entry accesses a spacious combined living room and kitchen. The room has a high whitewashed knotty pine ceiling, and a very attractive floor made of reclaimed fir, which is laid throughout the cottage. There are ceiling fans and mini splits for heating and cooling. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a gas range. There is a delightful 10 x 20' hardwood deck off the south side with an outdoor shower.

The bedroom has one queen size bed, with room for a crib. There is a closet and an antique dresser for storage. There is a ceiling fan/light and a wall-mounted mini-split for heating and cooling.

There is a modest bathroom with a tub shower, and vanity. There is a utility room with a stacking washer and dryer. Please turn washer water nobs off when not in use.

This is a self-contained cottage, with full access to the main floor. There is a basement, but that is not open to guests.

This lovely space feels like a sanctuary. We love guests who will treat our space with care, and we want to preserve the old hardwood floor and furnishings. We ask that shoes be removed when inside, coasters be used, please clean up spills, water on the bathroom floor, etc. Our neighbors appreciate it when you turn the outside lights off for the night.

Our treehouse by the beach is a lofty studio that sits on the second story, up in the trees. It's peaceful, bright, and cozy, walkable to downtown Wakefield, and you can bike to the beach!

The space
This home was originally a carriage house built in 1901 by Narragansett stone masons. The living space is located on the second story, an open studio that was completely renovated in 2017. After walking up the inviting stairs to the upper deck entrance, you'll be welcomed into this serene and cozy spot to call home for a while. There is plenty to do all around this location, but you might just want to relax here during your stay. Everyone who comes here comments on how peaceful our space is. Kick off your shoes and read a book or listen to our record collection, cook a meal in the open kitchen, have a nice cup of morning coffee, or a glass of wine on the deck. We also have THE most comfortable full size bed, and hope you have very restful sleep here. The sound of the frogs and crickets at night is quite relaxing. There is also a couch that is as wide as a single bed for an extra guest. We have a great deck with cafe table, and a luxurious outdoor shower. The location is great, walkable to restaurants and coffee. Take the bikes and explore the bike path that goes through town and leads to the beach. * Bikes are vintage, we do our best to keep them in working order. Available only in warmer months, and availability may vary.

Walk up the inviting stairs to the upper deck entrance. You will have the entire home, except the garage space. The garage will be locked, but there is off street parking for 2 cars. Don't miss the outdoor shower in the back- it's really awesome! *Outdoor shower not available for use after being winterized.

Relax in total privacy at our Mid-century Modern home on a spring-fed freshwater “kettle pond” minutes away from both beautiful beaches and South County nightlife. Swim, kayak and fish from our dock.

Floor-to-ceiling living room windows, al fresco dining on large attached deck. Updated kitchen appliances, air conditioned bedrooms. TV/Wi-fi provided.

Please note this is a warm weather house with no heat. No big parties allowed. Total occupancy of the house, including visitors, is 8 people.

The space
In addition to a kayak and rowboat, there are noodles, life preservers and other water toys for the pond. There are chairs on the dock and more in the shed for beach outings.

To simplify your visit, we provide both bed linens and plenty of towels for bath, pond and beach. We also provide a kitchen well stocked with non-perishable staples, place settings, utensils and cooking gear, along with a charcoal grill. Please note the grill must be used on solid ground, never on the deck.

Sleeping accommodations include two beds: a queen in the master and twin in the guest room. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning. The living room has a queen-sized sleeper sofa; the room is not air conditioned but gets a lot of ventilation and light with the large windows.

NOTE: The house is not heated or insulated. We have small space heaters for bedrooms on chilly nights.

Guest access
You, your family and friends will have the entire house to yourselves, as well as private access to the pond. The house is at the end of a private road that cannot accommodate large trailers. The area around the house can accommodate three parked cars.

Other things to note
The pond is for swimming, not wading - it's 10 feet deep off our dock. There are wide steps leading off the dock into the pond so getting in is easy for those who can’t dive or jump in.
