- "I cannot tell you how sweet and charming this cabin is in words! It sits far back off the main road, at the end of a private gravel side road. In the morning we could hear the moo's of cattle in a neighboring pasture faintly echo off the hillsides. It had a big front porch for drinking coffee on. The host has a little bit of everything you could need while keeping the cabin very organized and nicely decorated. She was thoughtful without being overbearing or having any tedious requests. It was a little distance from Seneca Rocks as you have to navigate around the curvey mountain pass. German Valley is on the way though and it gives you something to stop and admire on your way in and out that direction. I will brag to everyone about the little cabin in the woods!"

- "We had a great stay at this Spruce Knobs cabin. The cabin is as pictured, and really clean. Nice with the outdoor jacuzzi, and nice just sitting outside listening to the birds :-) We used it as a base for alle the hikes in the area." - "It was a great cabin that felt like home away from home." - "We enjoy peace and quiet, this spot was exactly that. Nothing but the sound of leaves in the breeze and the birds chirping. The cabin was the quite spacious and set up very pleasingly. Extremely clean and updated. The hot tub was an added bonus, our son loved it. There was plenty of hiking to do in the immediate area. - "Worth" - "We really enjoyed our stay, made us feel like we can do comfortably with so much less at home- bc it was perfect. We shared the bed rather than use the pull out couch. We should have planned ahead better for hot plate, microwave meals- or they have an outdoor charcoal grill, but we had rain every day. We really loved staying there." - "Responsive owner" - "If you're looking for the perfect cabin with that West Virginia vibe stop scrolling. This is it. Let's start with the important stuff. The place was super clean. It has everything you need. Plenty of linens, towels, cooking equipment. The location is on a road but we're not talking the autobahn. It's a mountain road with occasional vehicles driving by. Does not distract from your experience. Perfect base camp for hiking the many parks in the area."

this house is .4 of a mile from the Seneca Rocks visitor center. The covered patio and living room have an amazing view of Seneca Rocks. Seneca Creek wanders by at the bottom of the hill with native trout fishing. The tranquility of this property is worth the trip. We have put a lot of effort into making this house comfortable from the covered patio/outdoor living space in warmer weather to the coziness of the inside. we have tried to provide what you need for your stay here. We have opened some additional space in the basement with two Futons, a television and games. This space is partially finished and will be finished this winter. Due to the drought this summer, we drilled a new well to get better water pressure. Two plumbers have checked the water and tested it and it just being treated for hardness and has a small amount of iron. all of which is being treated effectively. The water issues are over even though we hope for no more drought. The creek adds additional relaxation and peace and of course the fire pit is always a great place to gather after great days of hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
- "Wonderful location and the place we stayed was great! Lovely decor and great communication with host. Definitely plan to stay again in the future. The view of Seneca Rocks was spectacular!" - "What a great home away from home!! Clean, spacious, and perfectly located. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to book again!!" - "We can’t say enough about this property! The views of Seneca Rocks from the living room and the beautiful covered outdoor patio, to the firepit overlooking a creek, this house is the best VRBO we have stayed at. The pictures don’t do it justice. The owners take great care of it and it shows. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

- "I my family made a last-minute reservation to stay here because we thought we might see the aurora borealis in the dark night sky close to the mountaintop. Unfortunately, it was a very cloudy night with storms, but the rain let up just enough for us to make a beautiful fire with the provided wood, and the cabin was warm, comfortable and well apportioned. One thing I would suggest to future visitors is to download the email and directions before you journey up the mountain. We didn’t have a signal When it came time to find the driveway. It is clearly marked and we figured it out pretty quick in the dark. The Wi-Fi from the cabin is also pretty good once you get there. Thanks for a lovely stay!"

We enjoyed the spacious house, the views, the firepit, the great movie collection, the hiking nearby, everything!" - "This property and house is so beautiful! There is so much room and we had everything we needed to make it a wonderfully weekend get away. We were not warned about the cows and the gate, but we figured everything out once we got there. It was honestly really cool to have cattle around the house. If yoy are planning a vacation and want a beautiful, secluded, and unique house this is the place!"

Very comfortable beds, nice fully equipped kitchen, the deck was so nice; that's where we spent most of our time. And of course we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit!" - "I was amazed by how clean and well kept this property was! And fully stocked with everything you need. Host was great with communication, before during and and after! They gave some recommendations with places to see and so glad, because we had no clue on what we wanted to do. - "The cabin is definitely pieced together in a somewhat DIY way, but there are so many interesting items scattered throughout that you almost find the strange construction a bit charming. A group of friends all came here to celebrate my 30th birthday, and it was an overall great experience. The house was plenty large to accommodate us all, and the hot tub was a treat on a chilly winter night. Be warned that the walls are quite thin and most of the second floor rooms have vent holes that lead directly into the rooms below so you will never have a truly private conversation in the house. Crystal was a great host and left plenty of small amenities and treats for us that we felt very cared for. We would definitely return again!"

BONUS FUN FACTS
If you are a guest who loves details, here's some interesting history about the site the cabin sits on. (:
This cabin is situated on the old railroad bed that went to Spruce Knob back in logging days. When you are at the cabin, you will see what looks like an old unused road going out through the trees from the picnic area. This is the old railroad bed.
We even find some railroad spikes occasionally! We have included a few railroad-themed pieces of decor in the cabin. And, up in the loft, you will find some books about the history of logging in this area. If you are a history lover, check those out! We are thankful that it has been a while since they logged the red spruce trees on Spruce Knob, because it would hurt the natural beauty of the area. But still, the history from when they did is quite fascinating.
- "Great place for a peron or a couple to stay and escape from the stress and everyday life. Well furnished cabin with the real feels of home. Would recommend to anyone. Hope to return to Spruce Mountain again soon." - "Process was simple and easy. It was a very cute cabin with lots of perks inside! " - "We loved this little cabin. We wanted a cabin with a hot tub near some adventurous things we were doing. This fit the bill perfectly"

We even find an old railroad spike occasionally! We have included a few railroad-themed pieces of decor in the cabin. And, up in the loft, you will find some books about the history of logging in this area. If you are a history lover, check those out! We are thankful that it has been a while since they logged the red spruce trees on Spruce Knob because it would hurt the natural beauty of the area. But still, the history from when they did is quite fascinating.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire cabin and surrounding woods and yard area. There are a couple bins in the bedroom closet that are marked "cleaners only". Other than that, the place is yours. (:
Other things to note
In the snowy time of year, you should bring an all-wheel-drive vehicle.
