If you want to get out and explore, it's 10 minutes away from the Rome City! 20 Minutes from Kendallville! 30 Minutes from the famous Shipshewana, Indiana. Blue Gate restaurant and the Shipshewana Flea Market; Shipshewana has shops, restaurants, the well-known Blue Gate Theatre. 45 minutes from Nappanee that has additional Amish culture with shopping, theatre, and dining. All this and more as you relax and enjoy this wonderful area full of culture and hospitality. This property is designed to offer a relaxing stay, regardless of whether you are on vacation, traveling for business, or attending an event at the Michiana Event Center or any other event center in town.

Notre Dame University is only 1.25 hrs away from our house as well. So if you're in town for a game, it's really pretty convenient to get to Notre Dame and avoid the traffic rush.

In the middle of lake country, but yet near all the local attractions with access to the main road. Rome City, Kendallville, Wolcottville, Topeka, Shipshewana, Nappanee.

Enjoy a slower pace, aka "Lake Life" at our Waldron Lake Retreat, our house is directly on the lake (FYI - no wake lake except between 10am - 5pm). Not only will you have our renovated home with great amenities, but also you'll be able to jump into our lake off our private pier or with our provided kayaks (please use the provided adult life jackets). Waldron Lake is also great fishing (bring your own fishing supplies). It's also connected to three other lakes (no wake lakes), but enjoy cruising on different lakes without getting out of your kayak or boat (bring your own boat and dock it to our pier). There are miles of river and lakes that you can explore by entering right off our dock. Enjoy peaceful days fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, etc.

Originally a fishing cabin for WWII veterans returning home, this property holds a unique historical significance. In the late 1970s, it was expanded into a 504 sq ft peaceful cabin, perfect for couples, small families, or those seeking solitude. Nestled on the shores of Upper Long Lake, an 86-acre clear no-wake lake renowned for its fishing, this cabin offers a tranquil setting. The Indiana DNR has reported Largemouth Bass up to 20.7 inches in Upper Long Lake, making it a haven for fishing enthusiasts. Bluegill is another popular catch. Unwind as you observe ducks and herons grace the water and marvel at the breathtaking sunset. The cabin, complete with one bedroom, full kitchen, bathroom, and living space, is a sanctuary of tranquility.
The 240 sq ft wraparound deck, adorned with five umbrellas for shade, invites you to unwind amidst nature's embrace. The 200 sq ft cement fire pit, perfect for grilling and gathering around the fire, is a place to create lasting memories. The cabin's interior, crafted from beautiful hardwood, is illuminated by unique ball jar lighting in the kitchen and lighted ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. The bedroom includes one double bed, dressing chair, and drawers containing fresh lines for the bed and futon. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, oven, microwave, Keurig, silverware, dishes, cups, glasses, mugs, pots, pans, baking sheets, an ice tray, dish towels, and dish soap. The small bathroom has a toilet, sink with vanity, towels, a shower with a new shower head and wand, shampoo, and body wash. The living area includes a fall-asleep couch, a futon with a blanket underneath, a stereo with a CD player, and various CDs, puzzles, games, and coloring books. Bask in the great outdoors with five large umbrellas shading the deck lounge chair and table, a two-person swing, six bar stools for the deck area, plastic chairs for the firepit area, and a grill grate. NW cedar planked 30 ft private pier.

There is no TV or wi-fi, as I wanted the cabin to be an escape from technology. So, if you have to have wi-fi, bring a hotspot or use the wireless from your carrier, though the bars will be few. Shady Haven Resort is a lake trailer park with the cabins on and above the lake. Many trailers in the back of the resort are empty and slowly being removed. The cabin is not right on the lake but sits above on a hill at the corner of Hummingbird Blvd and Big Bass Run and has a beautiful view. I just installed a cedar private pier at the end of Big Bass Run. Boat access is on one road over W 25 N at the end of N Hazelwood Dr.

Please respect the cabin. I bought it for my 88-year-old mother to enjoy, but sadly, her 8-year battle with Alzheimer's is starting to take its toll, and we can no longer enjoy it as much as we would like. The sunsets are beautiful, and it is a small, quiet, friendly community. Please relax, enjoy your time, and create fantastic memories.

Lovely cottage in Rome City Indiana located close to Sylvan Lake. Sylvan Lake is a 700-acre all sports lake, where you can enjoy jet skis, swimming, fishing, skiing or just boating around the 16 miles of shoreline. There is a nature preserve on The Big Island, accessible by boat with over 2 miles of hiking trails. Gene Stratton-Porter State Memorial Park, Sylvan Cellars Event Center and Mother Mercy Event Center is a short drive away. The Cottage is a short walk to the public boat ramps, grocery store and bait shop. The Cottage has a big yard to park your cars and boat trailer. Cottage is furnished with ac, wifi, new carpet and new appliances. One queen bed room downstairs, finished loft with double, single and another portable queen if you need it.

Grape Island Getaway, locally known as Bishop Island, is a unique, private island with a beautiful stone home built in 1900. It is the perfect landing place for a family vacation. You and your guests will be the only ones on the 4.2 acre island! It truly is a PRIVATE ISLAND. It may only be accessed by boat. Due to the midwest winters, Grape Island Getaway is only available May through October each year.

Although the exterior maintains the 1900 charm, the interior is newly renovated and can comfortably sleep up to 15 people. Main floor has primary bedroom with ensuite, a gorgeous kitchen including: double ovens, an induction cooktop, and plenty of space to cook and hang out, a dining area, fireplace and living room with leather reclining couches. Upstairs you'll find three bedrooms, including a kids' bunk room with its own bathroom, and another bathroom. Internet is included as well.

Outside there are plenty of activities to keep everyone happily busy. The 669 acre lake has pristine water, and should you choose to rent the island, you will have full access to a pontoon boat for the duration of your stay (pontoon rental alone would be $200 a day!) With 2000 feet of shoreline, Grape Island Getaway has prime fishing - make sure to bring fishing poles to catch walleye, blue gill, crappie, and large mouth bass-perfect for a fish fry. Not into fishing? There is a great sandy shore for swimming or launching kayaks - three are included. You will not be disappointed with Grape Island Getaway!

The only way to make this place better would be to clear out more weeds along the shore line. Overall it was perfect!" - "We had a wonderful time at Grape Island. The boat was easy to use and the island isn't too far from shore, so even though it took us multiple trips to unload it didn't take terribly long. The big yard, trail around the island, and screened in porch were amazing spaces for the kids in our group to play! It is worth noting that the staircase is rather steep and narrow up to the second floor. If anyone in the group has trouble with stairs they should plan to stay in the master on the first floor. We had to change our sleeping arrangements because my grandpa couldn't do the stairs safely. I would also recommend this trip to be an offline experience. Two members of our group had to jump on several work calls during the week and the wifi was not strong enough to support their connection. They ended up working from the public library in Kendalville. Overall, the space was a ton of fun and the old stone house is gorgeous!"

Our lakehouse is on a quiet lane, right down the treelined drive from the bike path into Rome City where you can find Pizza at Pepperoni's Pizza, Ice Cream at Sundaes on Sylvan, or an afternoon of wine tasting at Sylvan Cellars or Country Heritage Winery.

The main level of this 3500 square foot house includes a fully stocked kitchen with plenty of counter and pantry space. The kitchen opens to a large dining area to accommodate family gathering for mealtimes. Expansive views of the lake from the kitchen and dining area so you never miss the sunrise and sunset over the lake. Relax in the cozy lakeside living area with game table and 6 stools, 65" tv, plenty of seating and wall to wall glass windows and doors with easy access to the lakeside patio. Fabulous lake views from the entire kitchen and living area. A full bathroom is attached to the kitchen for easy access from the lake.

Welcome to Atwood Lake. Enjoy your two bedroom lakefront home from your private pier, large front yard, custom deck or three seasons room. This is a flat property from the parking to the water. Minor step into the home and into the bathtub/shower. This house is fully stocked for you to walk in with your overnight bag and groceries.
Please enjoy your meals at the dining table.
House can be set for a single person to enjoy a nice king size room or for family and friends. With a king size bedroom set with a full size bed, a room with a queen size bunk bed with a twin on top, and a twin trundled underneath.
Please note- as of Oct.17, we have pulled in the red cushions. There is alternate furniture to use on porch.
We are in winter weather. The new heating system is controlled by a remote and the bedroom and bath have separate heating systems.
We don’t use the baseboard heat since the furniture is right against the walls. Be sure to lick the doir using the key pad when you leave. The door handle lock will lock you out as you leave.

- "Beautiful home situated just a handful of steps from the lake. Ample space to gather or spread out into your own peaceful areas with multiple spaces for entertainment or relaxation. The water toys provided were put to great use in both the swim area and with our boat. The dock space was simple to access with the boat launch just a few minutes drive away and even less via water. Being situated at the end of the road the neighborhood was quiet, safe, and came with very friendly neighbors, the perfect environment for our small children. Although the stay was mostly seemless and we didnt need to contact the owner, leading up to our visit they were very responsive and detailed with information on the home. Only downside was the loft space 'bedroom' which was too public for our liking, but we were able to utilize the 2nd living room instead for added space and privacy for the 4th family we had staying at the property. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and made many lasting memories."

On this property you will enjoy lake views with 100 feet of water access for swimming, fishing and parking your boat and/or jet skis on, just feet from the house. When not enjoying time on the lakes, relax around the fire pit or lounge under the covered deck. The spacious concrete patio is great for outdoor dining or soaking up some sun. Kayaks are also available to explore the lakes.

- "The house is beautiful and has the perfect amount of space for our group. Very modern amenities throughout. The kitchen has a ton of space and everything you need. When we weren't enjoying the lakes, we spent the majority of the time on the covered deck. There was more outdoor space than we anticipated which was perfect for cornhole and the firepit facing the canal made for some enjoyable nights. The lakes are pretty quiet during the week and there's plenty to explore. Coody Brown's is just around the corner and the huge carp in the canal along the restaurant are a must see. The house was the perfect size for our group of six. The neighbors were friendly and the hosts were attentive. Nothing but good things to say about our week at this house!!"

This beautiful, spacious 4 bedroom, 3 full bath Lake Home offers sleeping space for 15 guests: 4 king beds, one queen bed (one king bed in each bedroom, plus a sectional in the living area with a pull out queen!) as well as bunk beds in the basement open area, a day bed with trundle in the second floor master suite, and a futon.

This home sits on a lovely, quiet spot on West Lakes which is a four lake chain with river access, and all Sport Lake on the main basin. (Short motor ride across the lake to the channel that leads to all sport lake!)

- "The 4 parking spaces up top that belonged to the house were filled with cars from people renting the house next door. Had to park down the drive by the side door. Walking into the house there was an OVERWHELMING smell of gas & sulfer. Opened windows to air it out but the smell never went away. The set up of the house was really cute with a nice living space downstairs. It was hot upstairs in the bedrooms even with the air set to 66 so we slept downstairs on the couch. Hot tub was cloudy w/ bugs in it & no skimmer to clean it so we couldn't use it. When I took the cover off the BBQ grill it was filled w/spiders, webs, bugs, grease & rust. Propane tank was empty. Reached out the PM & was told she was sending someone out to clean it. No one ever came out so we did not get to BBQ on Friday. Saturday the PM daughter came to clean the hot tub but had no skimmer and couldn't get the lid off the filter so it never got cleaned & couldn't be used. She dusted the spider webs off the grill & replaced the propane tank but didn't clean the grates because she had nothing to clean them with. Called PM back about the grill because it is a holiday weekend and we bought food to grill. She gave us the owners number to reach out to him directly. When we called the owner & complained about the grill, he sarcastically asked if the stove in the house worked! I guess he expected the women to stay in the kitchen to cook. Spent 45 min cleaning the grates so we could use the grill. Unhappy!"

This is a lake front location with lots of great fishing. A pier is right out front to relax on and enjoy the lake. There is a fire pit for roasting marshmallows or just enjoying the evening. You can also use the charcoal grill, picnic table and enjoy a nice lunch outside.

This rental also includes the use of a paddle boat so you can enjoy getting on the lake. Life jackets are provided. Indiana fishing licenses are required as this is not a private lake. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed. Looking forward to meeting you.

We do have a cat. She is very friendly and will not have access to the basement apartment during your stay, however we wanted our guests to be aware in case of allergies. Also, because this is a basement apartment, guests will need to walk down 2 flights of stairs to access the apartment. Please keep in mind that we do live in the largest RV manufacturing area in the world, and therefore traffic can be very heavy on our road between 4am-6am most weekdays. We find that the noise is minimal in the basement, however if you are very sensitive to traffic noise, it's something to keep in mind.

We house 22 chickens [6 different breeds] and 2 geese. The geese are Lucy and Tess. They are in a large fenced-in area along the trails.

Upstairs you will find the bedroom with a queen bed and a twin mattress. a pool table and lake views from the living room and bed room. Plenty of room to add a blow up mattress for extra guests.

Guest access
Walking outside to the lake you will have access to the sandy/ gravel beach. There is plenty of outdoor furniture for sitting around the firepit. Use of the pier to get into the water and also tie a boat too. A swing for viewing beautiful sunsets and stargazing.

There isn't a stove/oven in the apartment but I do have a two burner hot plate and you will have use of the outside grill.

Cozy Waterfront Cottage

The space
There is room for 3 cars in the driveway. You will easily access the home through keyless access and enter through the door on the back deck. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and a king bed in the other. Directly above the two bedrooms there is a loft that has three twin size mattresses. The drawer under the Keurig has an assortment of coffees, teas and hot chocolate. Creamer and multiple sweeteners are also provided. There is a dishwasher, garbage disposal, ice maker, washer and dryer to accommodate your needs. The kitchen is fully equipped. The large sink faucet is from our artesian well. The small faucet on the left is reverse osmosis. All the water is safe to drink.

There is a large yard with a fire pit and
complimentary kindling and wood. It is a great place to sit by the lake at night or to use the grill to cook hamburgers and hot dogs. A football, volleyball, soccer ball, corn hole boards, and a croquet set are available in the 3rd shed.

The shoreline has been dredged and you are able to fish and dock your boat at the cottage. We also have kayaks and life jackets available for your use.

With Amish homes stretched for miles around, you will feel as though you've left modern life in exchange for the serenity of simple living. As Shipshewana is just mere minutes way, you'll be able to explore all that this community has to offer.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire unit. Guests are welcome to explore the property, which includes a vegetable garden, play structure for children, fire pit, horse stable and paddock.

The family does ask that guests respect the privacy of their home and the surrounding area. They also ask that guests refrain from entering the horse stable or paddock.

This Airbnb is hosted and owned by the Amish family that resides adjacent to the Airbnb unit. Because the Airbnb was once the home of this family, the following should be kept in mind:

- The property has NO airconditioning
- The property has NO electrical wall outlets
- The property has a gas range and stove, and fridge
- The property has battery operated lights
- The property uses WELL water

The family understands that devices such as smartphones, laptops, medical equipment, and other electronic equipment requires electricity. Because of this, they do have portable battery packs available.

Bring just yourself or bring your whole family to getaway at our cozy lake house where you can relax and unwind or go kayaking and fishing on the lake. There are plenty of games indoor and out. Play board games or our retro style arcade game inside or play some croquet outside and then wind down in the hot tub. At night this is the perfect place to look at the stars or come inside to read a book and listen to a classic vinyl album. Come getaway from the grind and enjoy!

What's a Dawdy House? A house next door to an Amish home formerly used for the Grandparents, all on the same country property, with Amish people everywhere! A step back in time and the entire home will be yours to use and explore!

Please note that the Amish couple next door is the host and available if you have questions or need anything.

Though you've put aside the modern convenience of living with no electric, a/c, & tv at this unplugged experience, many places to visit are nearby.

The space
Each of the 3 bedrooms have a queen size bed. One bedroom has an additional bunk bed set and another has a toddler bed. Let us know if you want us to set up a pack ‘n play for your infant. The living room has a pull out sofa couch available, as well as extra floor space.

Guest access
This entire home is yours to enjoy! Please feel free to walk this beautiful property and enjoy the sights and sounds of rural Amish Country! Parking is available in the small turnaround at the hitching post area.

Since this is an Amish home, please take note of the following:
—there are NO electrical outlets and NO air conditioning, NO TV.

This great lake home located on Jones Lake, a no-wake lake. There are plenty of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and rafts to make many memories on this beautiful lake. At night, there are 6 beds (4 twins & 1 queen are upstairs) (1 queen on 1st floor) (sleeps 7) to get rest, a full kitchen, and a cozy living room. There is parking for 4 cars. There are also games and puzzles in case it rains. This home has a Firestick tv but does not have wi-fi or cable - which will keep the family engaged!

Experience this brand new, entirely remodeled Luxurious Lake Home that boasts 65 feet of lake frontage, sleeps up to 15 guests, and the interior has been completely redone to welcome you into a stunning and peaceful haven at the lake. Enjoy your morning coffee on the beautiful wrap around deck, then head out to the spacious beach area to relax, jump in the lake, enjoy kayaks, paddle boat, and a convenient boat ramp (for smaller boats!) right from our driveway!

The space
This beautiful, spacious 4 bedroom, 3 full bath Lake Home offers sleeping space for 15 guests: 4 king beds, one queen bed (one king bed in each bedroom, plus a sectional in the living area with a pull out queen!) as well as bunk beds in the basement open area, a day bed with trundle in the second floor master suite, and a futon.

This home sits on a lovely, quiet spot on West Lakes which is a four lake chain with river access, and all Sport Lake on the main basin. (Short motor ride across the lake to the channel that leads to all sport lake!)

Private boat access from our driveway (ideal for smaller boats! Larger boats we suggest the public boat access point!)

Boat Rental is available from West Lakes Boat Mart.

This property is 26 minutes from Chain O’ Lakes State Park, 51 minutes from downtown Fort Wayne, and 35 minutes from Auburn.

The space
Enjoy a slower pace, aka "Lake Life" at our Waldron Lake Retreat, our house is directly on the lake (FYI - no wake lake except between 10am - 5pm). Not only will you have our renovated home with great amenities, but also you'll be able to jump into our lake off our private pier or with our provided kayaks (please use the provided adult life jackets). Waldron Lake is also great fishing (bring your own fishing supplies). It's also connected to three other lakes (no wake lakes), but enjoy cruising on different lakes without getting out of your kayak or boat (bring your own boat and dock it to our pier). There are miles of river and lakes that you can explore by entering right off our dock. Enjoy peaceful days fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, etc.

This property is protected by a video security system (outdoors only).

To be respectful of the neighbors, please be mindful of noise levels between 10pm. to 7am. Any complaints from neighbors will incur a $50 fee enforceable by renting the property.
