Wood and marble flooring throughout. One off street parking spot is included. It is a very short walk downtown and very convenient to all shops and services.

Please note: The apartment is located on Mission St (hwy 1) and has some traffic noise. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is not the spot.

This California Craftsman Bungalow on the Santa Cruz Historical Register is beautiful, spotlessly clean, fully furnished and is one house off East Cliff Drive overlooking Seabright Beach.

The location is ideal as it is walking distance to the beach and to numerous Santa Cruz attractions including the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Municipal Wharf, Lighthouse Point and Steamer Lane, and Natural History Museum. Everything you'll need is close by- Verve Coffee Roasters as well as dozens of restaurants including fan-favorites Seabright Brewery, Crow's Nest, and more.

After a fun day out at the beach (umbrella, towels, and chairs provided), rinse off in the private outdoor shower before coming inside to relax by the gas fireplace and watch a movie (Television/ cable included). Make yourself at home in the fully-equipped kitchen as we have provided the basic necessities to make a wonderful homemade meal- Small appliances include coffee maker, blender, & toaster. - "My wife, two daughters (4 and 2), and I recently spent 4 days at West Cliff Hideaway. Simply put, this place has charm, attention to detail, and most importantly, location. Just a five minute walk down a scenic greenbelt (Bethany Curve), and you find yourself overlooking the legendary Santa Cruz coast along West Cliff Boulevard, arguably one of the premier walking/biking paths in the entire state. In regards to the unit, it sits in a quiet residential neighborhood on the west side of Santa Cruz. One thing we were worried about in renting in Santa Cruz was the knowledge that many homes are rented to UCSC students, and we didn't really want to be next to a "party" house. (My wife went to UCSC, and is a Slug alumni). Have no fear with this concern, as West Cliff Hideaway is quietly secluded, tucked behind Robin and Bill's (the owners') main house, just up a set of stairs. With the exception of walking down the driveway past the main house, you would never know the main house is even there. The outside patio, just adjacent to the entrance door, was an added bonus. It was perfect for us to store our bikes and bike trailer, which we had brought along for biking along West Cliff. Bill even offered us a tarp, if needed, as the weather couldn't really make up its mind on drizzling or having the sun shine through. Bill even gave me a call on our second day, noticing the weather might not cooperate, and offered us some suggestions that could accommodate the weather. While we already had planned some alternatives, we much appreciated the recommendations. We ended up biking down to Natural Bridges (from the Hideaway) on the first day to check out the tide pools with our girls. Past Natural Bridges there is also a great bike path that leads all the way over to Wilder Ranch, which is one of the premier mountain biking meccas in all of California. The following day we headed over to Roaring Camp Railroad in Felton for a ride on the vintage steam train, and a quick stop by the Bigfoot Museum. We also managed to squeeze in some hiking in the Pogonip Reserve, a quick stop by UCSC, a tad a of shopping in downtown, and obviously some excellent eating in the myriad of restaurants Santa Cruz has to offer. Without hesitation, I would recommend West Cliff Hideaway. Given the location, seclusion, amenities, and price, especially compared to other local hotels, do yourself and favor and experience the comfort and Santa Cruz vibe this Hideaway has to offer."

Our 1928 carriage house apartment is situated in historic Beach Hill. It has been recently renovated, yet much of the original charm has been maintained. It is a perfect spot for families or small groups - close to many tourist spots yet located in a residential neighborhood.
Cowell's Beach (boogie boarding and surfing), Steamer's Lane (advanced surfing), Monterey Exploration Center, Boardwalk, wharf, Warriors basketball stadium, downtown, and West Cliff Drive (bike/walking path along the ocean) are all a quick 5 minute walk from our house.

The living room picture window has partial ocean views, where beautiful sunsets may be seen. There is a washer and dryer in the home, a large flat screen tv, and dedicated high-speed internet. There is a small private deck off the back, and a lovely porch that has an ocean view in the front, for enjoying morning coffee, or sunset viewing at the end of the day. Please note there is a home in the rear of the property, with a driveway. This is a completely separate single-family home, there is NO shared space. There is open street parking in front of the property.

This home has many lovely furnishings, including a glass coffee table, and an all-glass dining table, and therefore may not be suitable for small children. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the property. There is a STRICT no pet policy for this property.

All linens supplied. Outside table and chairs on patio. I love that I live only a couple of blocks to Arana Gulch and then down to the Walton Lighthouse and Seabright beach. We have great restaurants and coffee shops ( La Posta, Tramonte, Midway, Charlie Hong Kong, Verve) nearby as well as Shoppers Corner and Staff of life grocery stores and a whole foods, too! Kuumbwa Jazz club downtown as well as the Rio Theatre are great venues for music!

- "My 4 visitors on separate days said I was lucky to have found such a great rental! The unit has everything! Suggestions…(maybe I missed this on the description) that the driveway has room for one car, if you have another, they have to park on the street. This street does get busy at commute times, so this can be tricky but not a real problem. Safe neighborhood! We had “critter” visitors a couple nights in a row since for some reason the trash/compost/recycle was full on our check in date even though pick up was the same day?! Blinds and windows are a bit tricky so make sure you ask for a demo upon check in. This is mid June and there was hardly a day of fog…just gorgeous weather with so many beaches and places to eat!! Love the decor and brightness of the unit. Also, mention that there’s a flight of stairs since the living area is on the 2nd level. "

It was about 20 minutes away from the beach we selected but that was ok we had plenty of beach time while we waited for check in. The deck looks out to the redwoods, where you can enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of wine al fresco.

The space
The path down to the guest suite is rustic, with log stairs. It is unpaved, woodsy, and not wheelchair accessible (see photos).

Hosts live on the floor above, but with the private entrance, coded door, and private living quarters, the guest suite is completely independent. That said, as with apartment living, you will likely hear the hosts upstairs from time to time, but we are conscientious of our noise when we have guests.

The neighborhood is quiet and tucked away, yet close to everything by a short car ride. There is street parking available, usually on the cul-de-sac right in front of the unit.

Other things to note
The Wi-Fi is fast (Zoom-capable, 100Mbps business-class uplink, dedicated Wi-Fi network), there are Sonos speakers to play your own music, and you can Chromecast video to the T.V. No cable or broadcast TV is available.
