Your home away from home is on 13 acres of land to provide a serene country setting. The main house is a 1700's built stone farmhouse that has been modernized where needed while still maintaining it's charm from when it was built almost 300 years ago! Additionally, there's a 2 bedroom guest cottage and last but not least an amazing pool & pool house.

On the outside, you'll find plenty of room to roam with expansive green space, hardscaped patios, porches, in-ground pool, and pool house. Let the stress melt away while set up in a rocking chair on one of the numerous patios. You'll also find gas fire tables at the main house and on the pool patio with numerous Adirondack chairs. Finally, perhaps the best for last is the resort-like pool area. It's easy to spend an entire day lounging poolside, swimming, playing games in the open air pool house, or perhaps just reading a book.... The list goes on as there's something for everyone! Even after the sun sets there's still plenty to do at the pool house with two smart TV's, gas fireplace with comfy furniture, shuffleboard table, and super unique wine barrel arcade console table with hundreds of pre-loaded games! *** Please note the pool house is a 3 season building. It's open from sometime in March (exact date depends on weather) till sometime in early November (again, exact date depends on weather). It's designed to be open air with windows, front, back, and on the one end along with 4 ceiling fans. ***

A center hall entrance into the main stone house provides an elegant first impression with voluminous ceilings, ornate moldings, custom tile floor, and stylish pendant lighting.

Moving first to the main living area you'll find wide plank flooring, two smart TV's, pool table, foosball table, and plenty of seating for everyone to gather.

On the other side of the foyer is the kitchen and dining room. I'll begin by first describing the remarkable chef's kitchen. These aren't cabinets that can be bought from Home Depot! Everything in the kitchen is custom, handmade, and truly one of a kind! You'll have all you need in this fully stocked kitchen with a duel fuel range (gas stove and convection oven), dishwasher, wine/beverage fridge, oversized refrigerator, wall oven, and plenty of cookware, flatware, and serving pieces.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a grand dining room with ornate moldings, ornamental fireplace, stylish lighting, and a large table with seating for 12 along with two additional pub tables that each seat 2. This is a room that at least in my mind really embodies the opulence of the home along with how much emphasis there once was on a formal dining space. It truly is a remarkable room that must be seen in person to be appreciated.

Heading to the rear of the home off the center hall and also accessible from the living room is a chic mudroom with pendant lighting, Hex tile floor, washer/dryer, and a half bath.

Completing the first floor is the den which is accessed off the mudroom. Your eyes will almost certainly be drawn to the walk-in fireplace, exposed beam ceiling, and comfy furnishings. Whether you're looking to play games, conversate, or perhaps just simply relax this is the perfect spot to do it.

Above the den on the second floor is the first of 7 main house bedrooms. The wide plank floors continue through this space as well. This bedroom is outfitted with a queen bed, chest of drawers, and En Suite bath. The minimalist size bathroom packs a punch with quality design and finishes!

The remaining 6 bedrooms are accessed from the main staircase in the center hall and spread out between the 2nd and third floors. There's five bedrooms on the second floor and one "family suite" on the third floor. The aforementioned wide plank floors continue throughout these floors as well.

At the top of the main staircase off the upper hall is bedroom two which boasts a king bed, ornamental fireplace, chest of drawers, and comfy chair.

Moving further down the upper hall takes you next to what would be considered the master suite with king bed, ornamental fireplace, chaise lounge, make up vanity, and En Suite bath.

Moving to the southwest part of the 2nd floor you'll find two more bedrooms that are fairly similar to one another. Both with queen beds, dresser storage, additional seating and ornamental fireplaces.

The last bedroom on this level is a bright, fun, and cheery bunk room. This space is set up with a built-in twin over twin bunk AND a toddler bed. FYI, the toddler bed is NOT included in the sleep count of the home. Each bed has a reading light perfect for nighttime stories in bed. We hope this is a room children will enjoy and remember for years!

Completing the second floor is a hall bath with double bowl farm sink vanity, tiled walk-in shower, full size mirror, and plenty of lighting.

The last bedroom in the main house is up another set of steps on the third floor. This is a "family suite" with a king bed, twin over full bunk, and En Suite bath.

Finally, we have the detached 2 bedroom cottage. On the main level you'll find a living room, full kitchen, dining area, bedroom 1, and a full bath. The living room has a couch, chair, and smart TV, The kitchen is fully stocked with all essentials much like the main house kitchen. The first floor bedroom has a queen bed and nearby access to the full bathroom which has a stand up shower and a single vanity. Moving upstairs there's a quaint "tree nook" room that provides some really neat views of the property with windows that span the room. The second bedroom up here also has a queen bed with direct access to the second full bath which has a tub only with no shower.

Early check-ins, and late check-outs are extremely hard to accommodate due to cleaning and maintenance schedules. Please do not assume these can be accommodated. If you would like more time, please book accordingly. Thank you for understanding!

*EXCESSIVE NOISE WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT BE TOLERATED.* With that said.... Sorry for the excessive caps! In all seriousness though I certainly don't want this to come off as our home being the "no fun house". Rather, I mention this simply to make the distinction between music being played at a reasonable volume vs at a 10 or someone yelling compared to people gathering and having a conversation. This would go for any time of the day but especially at night. The neighbors should not hear your music or feel like they're part of your conversation! Additionally, there are exterior security cameras in 4 locations. Back door of the main house, front door of the guest house, side door of the main house, and the pool house door.

- "My dozen-odd friends and I stayed here for a long weekend with small children, babies, and a schmedium-size dog. In short, we had a wonderful stay and thoroughly utilized much of the property's features. We filled every bed in the house and all found things to enjoy in the indoor common areas. We cooked elaborate meals in the beautiful, well-stocked kitchen, and dined indoors and out. We had so much fun in the pool and played a series of games on the lawns. A very large supermarket was conveniently located a 5-min drive away, and the surrounding area is downright bucolic. We also enjoyed great weather during our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again."

The house offers total privacy and relaxation on 5 private acres. Behind the property there are additional 300 acres of woods suitable for walking, hiking and even dirt bike riding.
Access to the house is via 1200 feet long private driveway which takes you to the top of the mountain and the middle of the forest. The closest house is only visible in the winter and is 350 yards away. This is a perfect place to escape the civilization.
The town of Hackettstown offers surprisingly variety of restaurants: Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and an award winning "James on Main" restaurant opened by a famous San Francisco chef who grew up locally and decided to return to his roots.
There are also 3 local breweries in town, right on Main street.
The house is located and hour from Manhattan, 30 minutes from the Delaware Water Gap (think kayaking and hiking) and 45 minutes from the ski and water park areas in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.

There is a full house generator that comes on automatically in case of a power loss.

The home has a lot of outdoor living space. Between the 40’ long pool and deck areas there is nearly 10,000 sqft of outdoor living areas with a BBQ available.

Inside the home features elegant art, a massive eat in kitchen that seats 20 looking into an open dining room that accommodates another 8- 10 at the table. In the dining areas it features a 12’ wine bar between formal and casual dining. The wine bar features both red and white wine coolers already temp set to perfection.

The Great Room has large TV on marble fireplace, with a beer and alcohol bar for keeping beer ice cold and all your mixing beverages.

All TV’s are Roku Smart TV’s and Netflix, Amazon Prime, Show Time & Roku TV channels are available, any other channels your own membership or accounts will be needed.

There is a billiard room for your pleasure and use, please use responsibly!

Upstairs has 5 bedrooms 3 with views of the lake. 4 bedrooms are set up for couples, where 1 bedroom set up with full mattress size bunkbeds and a day bed for accommodate additional guests.

- Visitor Guest Fees: For anyone not staying over and just coming to visit the property it is $60 per person.

General Policies

Please make sure the number of people in your booking matches the number of people who will be on the property. The Property is surveilled and extra fees may be added on or you may be asked to leave the property if rules are abused.

- Keep noise to a minimum after 9:30pm.

- Do not attempt to open non access doors or cabinets.

- Do not touch or play any of the instruments on display, they are for appearances only.

- There shall not be smoking inside the home. Extra cleaning fees to remove odor and stains may be applied.

- PLEASE WASH YOUR DISHES after use. If dishes are not washed, extra cleaning fees may be applied.

- PARKING: parking is provided on the driveway side by side. Our driveway is suitable for sedans or smaller SUVs. If larger/longer cars or if more than one car, you can park parallel in front of the house where the bushes are. No more than 10 vehicles unless noted by an management.

- We have a Pool Table in the home for our guest's entertainment. Please return all accessories to their rightful places at the end of your stay.

- Feel free to use the barbecue outside that is set up for our super guests’ leisure use only. Please make sure the BBQ is used away from the house. The BBQ is to be used by the guests who stay at the home and is not to invite others to the home as it will be considered as hosting a party. Please clean up after yourselves and keep the grill clean. If found left dirty and requires extra cleaning, an extra cleaning fee may be required.

- Please acknowledge that from occasionally, we may leave consumables such as condiments or snacks left behind by previous guests if they are not empty. We try our very best to ensure that it is not expired or stale. HOWEVER, ultimately, it is up to the guests' discretion and inspection to consume these items if they wish. The host does not take any responsibility for the consumables.

- Do not rearrange our furniture.

- If guests are found to have had a party without host permission which results in extra cleaning, guests will be responsible for extra cleaning charges and in the unfortunate event of the disruptions alerting neighbors, GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY.

Lastly, because this is High End community not a hotel, and is also a personal residence home, so please be respectful of the property and keep it clean before you leave. (Respect the property and things) A Contract & minimum Security Deposit of $2,000 which can go up to $4,000 may be required pending the details of the stay.

Cabana has Ceiling Fan, TV, and Alexa for Music. Also has an Audiocast hook-up to play your own music on Outdoor Pool/Porch speakers.

Our Pool is custom built with 2 Sun Shelves for chairs to bask in the Sun & Water! We have a 5' round Dog Pool (in the Shed) to cool off the Pups & also a Doggie Door in the Dining room so they can go in and out as they please, to give you more relaxed time. (Can be blocked shut)

This home was designed by prominent New York architect James Gamble Rogers who is best known for his academic commissions at Yale University, Columbia University, Northwestern University, and elsewhere. It was built circa 1929 by the Riegel Paper Company as an executive retreat. The interior was artfully constructed with raised panel molding, painted plaster walls and ceilings, a large masonry fireplace, decorative box beam ceiling and distressed oak flooring with cup head nails.

Upon entering this estate you will be greeted by the grand foyer and a game room and formal sitting room on either side. This is an historic home on Halstead St, just down the road from the park, playground, community center and library. It was built by the Mulligan brothers, one of the first families of Clinton who owned the local quarry (now the Red Mill).
The space
This is a charming 2 bedroom historic home. There's a large eat in kitchen which was recently updated. There's also a separate office space outside of the bedrooms if you need to work from home or just catch up on emails.
For longer stays you have access to the washer and dryer in the basement so feel free to pack light!
Oh, and don't forget about the large beautiful back yard that backs to the Raritan River!

Other things to note
This is a wonderful historic home in a town where you can literally walk to everything you need! It is just minutes off of I-78 and Rt 31, very easy to get to, park at and get around from. You may see me walking my dog Lollipop in front of your house on the way to play fetch at the park!

- "We stayed here for 10 days to visit our family and friends. It was a great place for a home base. It was a quick walk to downtown clinton and very close to a park for the kids." - "We couldn't stay here-The property was listed to accommodate 4 people and did not. One full size bed and twin bed, not what was described in the listing. Pulled out the sofa couch only to find dead bugs and disgusting soiled mattress. The couch and chair in the living room area had stains and both were shredded in areas. Linens on full and twin bed had hair, dirt and dust on them. Additional linens were piled on the closet floor. Accuracy and cleanliness I had to give a 1 star but would not give any star. The bathroom had water damage and shower paint was peeling, not sure who paints a shower. One area of the tub had rust and water damage so bad that it left the orange stain on the shower curtain. A bath towel was hung with nails over the front window door. This is the worst experience our family has ever had especially when traveling cross country."

Welcome to this bright and peaceful entire house (one side of a twin), in Pattenburg NJ. This lovely country home sits on approximately 2 acres of land, with beautiful woods and a small brook that runs through it (complete with a little bridge). Although it is a rural area, it is also conveniently located less than five minutes from rt. 78 and rt. 173. Clinton, the neighboring town, is less than ten minutes away. There you’ll find a Walmart and grocery stores, shopping, gas stations. If you’re looking for a good local place to have dinner, The Pattenburg Inn is within walking distance from the house. If you stay here, you’ll enjoy having the best of both worlds. The privacy of a country setting, but civilization and its benefits are still nearby.
Upon arrival you will find ample parking on the property. It has an easy to access front entrance, and large open porch with comfy rocking chairs. There is also a rear entrance that goes into the kitchen. Once inside, the downstairs has a large living room adjacent to a kitchen. The live edge bar and three barstools tie the two rooms together, and contribute to the open yet cozy atmosphere. You’ll also find a desk and comfy adjustable chair, as well as WiFi. In addition, there are two Roku TVs.
Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms and one bathroom that share a hallway (please be mindful on the steps and use the handrail), as this is an older house, and the staircase is curved and the steps narrow. The steps and entire upstairs (minus the bathroom) brand new wall wall carpet. Both beds have queen-sized mattresses, closets, and upon arrival you’ll find the beds made, with clean linens, pillows, and comforter. The bathroom has a tub, sink, vanity, and clean freshly stocked towels.
For guest’s convenience, there is a washer and dryer in the downstairs closet. Hosts are always just a phone call away, and every effort will always be made to accommodate and satisfy our guests.

1) There are tenants in the adjacent house. They are separate houses, yours is an entire house, private entrance, private everything inside. The exterior is shared, so the driveway (which has plenty of parking for both homes), the front porch, and the yard and woods behind.
2) If you are visiting in the summer, please bring tick/bug spray. As it is a country setting, and the property sits 100 yards from woods.
3) We are pet friendly, as long as they are well-behaved, and not destructive. Any damage done to the house will be the guests sole responsibility to pay for. Please make sure to keep dogs on a leash at all times. This is for their safety, as the house sits close to route 614. When you are visiting with your fur babies, we require a pet deposit, as we clean thoroughly after every guest checks out. Service animals are exempt from this.

- "Was in town for a wedding, acknowledged by the host which was nice. Host easy to reach and worked with me on several things. The place is 2.5 levels with plenty of bedding and unique rooms. We really wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the quaint town. Everything you need within walking distance and a river walk nearby. The townsfolk were quite kind and helpful too. A word of warning: this place is not (yet) handicapp accessible. All bathrooms require stairs to access. Also, be careful to access the back driveway coming from Main St. lest you come from the sharper angle and strike a rock lining the short driveway like I did in my van. I guess a small car or SUV would have no issue. All in all, my family and I loved and appreciated the stay. We had as many as 12 guests (not all sleeping overnight) at once and it never felt crowded. The space
Our cozy and modern log cabin is brand new construction having just been completed in 2023. The cabin can comfortably accommodate 4 guests featuring 1 bedroom with a queen-size bed and a loft space which features 2 twin beds that requires guests to climb a ladder.

Guests can make themselves at home in the kitchen which includes a refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, and coffeemaker. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking essentials including pots/pans, silverware, cooking utensils, glasses/mugs, and dinnerware. Basic cleaning supplies including dish soap, sponge, and paper towels are provided for your convenience. Guests are encouraged to enjoy their morning cup of complimentary caffeine on the front porch!

The bathroom is on the main level of the cabin and equipped with a full-size shower stall, flushing toilet, mirror, and sink. Towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided for convenience.

There are 2 Smart Tv's for guests to access their own streaming services and access to high speed WiFi available. The cabin is equipped with heat and air conditioning to make your stay comfortable. Guests will have access to our ponds' dock which is equipped with lighting, a fan, a propane firepit, and comfortable polywood seating.

The space
Picturesque pool, patio and decking, an outdoor fireplace, pool sun loungers, outdoor sofa seating, outdoor dining table, outdoor island grill, outdoor fridge, large living room with wood burning fireplace, large dining table, extra sunrooms, and music room. There is plenty of land for all kinds of games and sports.

The property is among nature. The name Hawk Manor stems from the many hawks you will likely see flying overhead during your stay. It’s also likely that you will see one or many butterflies, ladybugs, frogs, bunnies, squirrels, rodents, deer, birds, bees, flies, etc. We take measures to keep the wildlife out of the house. If you open windows (open only from top down) or doors, please be sure to keep screens closed and throw out trash daily. There can also be poison ivy, sumac, or oak if you touch vegetation past the groomed yard area. It’s highly recommended to stay out of the woods as getting a rash from those plants can be very uncomfortable.

This is NOT a party house. Absolutely NO EVENTS - NO WEDDINGS, NO ENGAGEMENT PARTIES, NO BIRTHDAY PARTIES - no events of any sort are allowed. Disrespectful behavior and house rules violations will NOT be tolerated.

Even with less people than the guest limit, if there is any sort of partying behavior, it will not be tolerated. This is not a party location and neighbors are sensitive to music and yelling. If you want to play music loudly (e.g. louder than a mini Bluetooth speaker used at half capacity) or drunk talk/yell especially outside and especially after dark, this is not a good fit, so please do not book a stay here.

Do NOT expect a super value discount property. This is a very large (well over 5000sf) house. The amount of rooms could fit a much greater sleeping capacity if setup for it. That is NOT our intention. The house IS setup as a luxury property and is priced at a very good value considering the care, maintenance, cleanliness, amenities, and quality of everything included. Please consider the differences in value offered in different types of properties and what you are looking for. Additionally, please feel free to read the reviews from some of our valued guests - they go into great lengths in describing their stays at Hawk Manor, what to expect, what they liked, etc.

Short term rental agreement and liability waiver must be signed before access will be granted.

Guest access
AC control is limited to 69 degrees and heat limited to 73 degrees. If that is outside your range of comfort, please discuss before booking.

You are permitted to use everything except the attic and parts of the basement. Pool, tree swings, swing set, yard games, and gym equipment can be used at your own risk. Please be careful and use good judgement.

No kids alone in the basement and nobody in the attic, please.

The pool is open early May to late September.

Bring your own pool towels (sorry, this is due to laundry capacity and turnover time).

Do not touch the wooded area. You will likely contact poisonous plants.

Other things to note
Violations of House Rules will result in immediate cancellation of your entire stay, WITHOUT REFUND. Guest further acknowledges that if their stay is cancelled for house rule violations, Guest AUTHORIZES Airbnb and Host to revoke their right to review the host.

During summer months, there is an outdoor refrigerator on the back porch. You can order Shop-Rite or Insta-cart delivery to be placed in the refrigerator before your arrival.

If you would like to pay for, and schedule, daily or mid-trip cleaning, please notify me in advance and I will try to schedule it for you. Otherwise, common cleanliness is expected, i.e, clean dishes and do not leave messes, take out garbage daily, please clean up spills and do not allow staining on carpeting, furniture etc.

You may hear loud sounds from neighbors target practicing and fireworks.

Please no tape or other stickies on walls for decorating.
