- "Fantastic house with gorgeous lake view. We were in town for a family reunion and this spacious, updated home did not disappoint. There is only one bathroom but plenty of bedrooms and beds to accommodate a larger group. The downstairs (which has 2 bedrooms) has a nice, open layout with lots of windows overlooking the lake. The driveway accommodates about 4 cars and the back deck and propane grill came in handy when entertaining a larger family gathering. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals and the appliances are updated."

- "Rooms were as advertised but house and yard need work. There was some visible damage inside the house and some of the windows didn’t have window treatments or didn’t have ones that blocked out the light- including the streetlights. Rooms were sparsely furnished with some areas just empty of furniture. Yard was not taken care of and the lake was solid Lilly pads and really only accessible by kayak. However, the view was very pretty with lots of wildlife. The house itself was clean and was fine to stay in. We were concerned about the street and access based on other reviews, but the driveway was plenty large to turn around in and not have to back out onto the street - this was not an issue at all. Owner communicated well- easy check in."

Enjoy a day on the lake! We offer a Peddle boat that seats 4 people to navigate the lake with. Fox Lake connects to the Huron River! Life vests are included.

Fox Lake is a small, private community lake in Commerce Twp, less than an hour from Detroit. The lake is close to several recreational areas such as Dodge Park, which has playgrounds, ponds, walking trails and a library. The local Edgewood Golf Club offers amenities such as a pool, fine dining, a fitness center and a spa.

We do have a video doorbell located on the front door to ensure guest safety!

Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the home including the garage and outdoor spaces.
There are not set hours for use of the Hot Tub or Sauna but we do request that you use them appropriately. The Hot Tub should never be used longer than 20 minutes for any person. The Sauna should be used no more than twice daily at no longer than 20 minute intervals.
When using the kayaks or peddle boat we require that all guests use the provided life vests.

The Neighborhood:
This home is in a family neighborhood and guests are asked to follow the quiet time rules from 10 PM to 8 AM.

Other Things to Note:
We do allow pets, there is a fee of $75 per pet. We just ask that you please clean up after your pet.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

The house is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock at the front door and on the back door. To access the house, enter the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, enter that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

Pullout couch: Underneath the horizontal seat you will find two fabric handles. Pull them out from under the couch and raise up the extra mattress section from underneath the couch. Remove the couch pillows to make space for two!

Extra Linens: Underneath the chaise section of the couch you will find four bath towels and four hand towels, two pillows, a comforter, and two sets of sheets and pillowcases.

Air Mattress: Designed for camping, our air mattress is extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate.

We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules:

- No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know.
- Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm.
- Please leave your shoes at the door.
- No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies.
- No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky.
- If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair.
- Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help.

While access to public transportation is not easily available from our house, UBER and LYFT run consistently in the area and are quick, cheap, and accessible options to get anywhere in the SE Michigan areas!

This ranch home was updated in 2022. All furniture and household items are high quality and brand new!

The home is a ranch home tastefully and comfortably decorated. All linens, beds, pillows, towels etc are new and high quality highly rated.

OUTDOORS: Guests find a nice patio area outside the living room doors with a patio table, propane grill, hanging lights, a hammock, and a firepit for guest use.

The kitchen features a keurig coffee machine, all new cookware, toaster, microwave, and more. Smart TVs in each bedroom.

This home is located in a very nice and safe neighborhood in one of the safest cities in the state.

Guests can get around the neighborhood on foot or reach nearby businesses by car.

- "House was perfect and spacious for a good family time. However, it just wasn't somewhere our family felt we could breathe and relax. We come to MI fairly frequently to visit family and would look at other options in the area. Pros: We had a couple of Qs about the check in process and the owner responded very promptly. The house was easy to find. Cons: The house had a musty smell to it. The towels were thin, old and some were stained. The sheets were also thin and some had stained spots on them. The shower curtain was permanently stained on the bottom (assuming from the well water). The mattresses were not comfortable (I know this is a personal preference) and pillows were very thin and felt flimsy."

THE SPACE:
Desirable Private All-Sports Round Lake - THE best lake side unique cottage for the bachelor/ette, family & friends weekend getaway. The main area of the home has a picturesque surround view of the lake with ample number of windows. Beachy Lake Home Vibes - decorated with renters in mind. Four bedrooms (3 Queen beds, 3 Twin beds) and 1 bathroom. Summer months - canoe and pontoon boat available upon request. Perfect backyard for bonfires and roasting smores. Also, come enjoy the brand-new HOT TUB on the back deck!!!

GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have access to the full home, including the deck, backyard, dock, lake, and driveway. The shed will only be available if renting the pontoon boat.

PETS:
We do not allow animals on the property at this time. If you have a special request or own a service animal, please message us to discuss. If you are caught bringing an animal on site without our prior approval, you will be charged a $150 pet fee + repairs if any damage occurs.

SAFETY:
Safety is our #1 priority! Being on a lake, children are not to be left unattended. 5 adult life vests and 2 child size life vests (age 1-9) are provided. Please ALWAYS use the life vests while renting the pontoon boat. If you need more life vests, please plan ahead and bring extra. In addition, please be aware this home is not handicap accessible.

BONFIRES/GRILL:
Should you wish to use the firepit, a bundle of firewood will be provided, consisting of 3-5 pieces of wood, similar to what you would purchase at a state campground. Addtional firewood can be purchased at most local hardware/grocery stores and gas stations. We will not provide fire starters or lighter fluid. Do not use gasoline to light a fire. Please do not put sand into the fire pit. Lastly, the outdoor grill is propane. We try to keep one spare propane tank in the shed in case the propane tank inside the grill runs out. Please swap them if needed.

PARKING:
The driveway can only accommodate 3 vehicles. We cannot accommodate any type of trailer. Please do not park on the road as this will impede on the neighbors' driveway access. The driveway is sloped and may get icy in the winter months. Please watch your step as conditions may be slick.

FISHING:
If you are going to be fishing off the boat, canoe, dock, or ice fishing, Conservation Officers require fishing license on public lakes. $10 daily pass or $26 annually (easily purchased online) Michigan.gov dnr or purchase at Meijer or Dunhams.

PONTOON BOAT:
Ask about renting our pontoon boat!!! we will send you a message about how to obtain boaters insurance and the rental process. The boat launch is private, so you cannot put your own boat into the water, unfortunately.

HOT TUB:
For stays of five days or longer, please be aware that if the hot tub is used heavily—particularly on a nightly basis—routine maintenance such as a chlorine shock treatment and filter cleaning may be required to maintain water quality. Any servicing will be carried out with consideration for your schedule and comfort, and we will proceed based on your preferences and availability.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT DETAILS:
• The property uses a well water system. The water has been professionally tested and is safe for consumption.
• The home is equipped with forced-air heating only; central air conditioning is not available. This is typical for an older Michigan lake front cottage.
• To ensure comfort during warmer months, we provide stand-alone air conditioning units on each floor, placed in select bedrooms. We kindly ask that you do not move these units, as they have been strategically positioned for optimal performance and to ensure the home operates efficiently and reliably.
• Michigan’s climate typically lacks the intense heat and humidity found in other states, and many guests find the home comfortable without air conditioning. That said, opening windows and using ceiling fans can significantly enhance airflow and help maintain a pleasant indoor temperature during warmer days.

CAMERAS:
There are 4 cameras on the property. (1) First camera is mounted to the front of the home and faced the parking spaces. (2) Second camera is mounted mid-section of the home and faces the front orange guest access door. (3) Third camera is mounted to the rear of the home and faces the lake. (4) Fourth camera is a bird feeder mounted to the back of the shed and faces the dock/boat. It is motion activated.

The Space:

The main living area is drenched in sunlight with plentiful lake views. Newly decorated/styled with beachy lake home vibes. A beautiful back yard, perfect for bonfires and hang outs, offers a perfect swimming or fishing experience.

Guest Access:

Guest is able to access the home, driveway to home, the back yard, lake, the patio space behind home. Guest is not able to park in the street.

Other Details to note:

Pets: are not allowed on property if you’re caught brining an animal you will be charged $300 a day per animal.
Home is suitable for 6 Adult Guests. Each Adult guests over 6 will be charged $300 a day per person.
Smoking is not allowed inside the home and will be assessed a $500 cleaning fee.

Safety: Please note that the home is not handicap accessible.
Being on a lake, children are not to be left unattended.

Bonfires:
Should you wish to use the fire pit, firewood is not provided, though there is a corner store and gas station nearby where bundles may be available for purchase.
If you choose to have a fire please make sure fire is fully put out and chairs are returned/stacked with weight so they don’t blow into the lake before leaving/going to bed.

Parking: 3 car Maximum. One vehicle can park in garage and two in front of garage. Please note the home doesn't have much of a driveway so please park as close as possible to the garage. There is no extra parking on the cul-de-sac.

Fishing: Conservation officers require fishing license on public lakes. A daily or annual pass can be purchased online, or at nearby stores.

TV: We have a Roku TV device (a streaming media player) to watch videos, listen to music, play games, and use other types of apps from the Internet onto the TV. Guests have the ability to watch whatever subscription service they may already have access to such as Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Kayaks: Complementary. Feel welcome to bring your own kayak/paddle board.
