Ahoy, matey! Welcome to Skull Island where your adventures begin, and your memories are treasured.

Your adventure begins right after you park your car in the gated parking area. You'll bring your belongings to the dock where you can load it into your boat or use ours. From the dock, the house will be in your view on the island just to the right. THERE IS NO WAY TO DRIVE TO THE ISLAND, IT CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY ROWBOAT, YOUR BOAT OR RENTED PONTOON BOAT.

The home is unmistakable with pirate flags all around, painted black with cannons mounted to the side. You are about 100 yards or about a five-minute rowboat ride from your destination.

The property is on a point of the island. This gives you 270-degree views, main view of Pontiac Lake, the beach and Gale Bay. It's great to have the sun on the front of the house and to the rear of the house, you'll find shade under the large maple tree. In the evening you'll enjoy breathtaking sunsets.

You'll have access to everything you need. On the Lake, there is a Chinese Restaurant and a couple of boat liveries. Pontiac Lake State Park has a host of things to do.

Water is the way of the pirate so let's address that. There is a rowboat and paddle boat included with the house at no charge. We rent a well-seasoned 12-person pontoon for $150 per night or a newer pontoon can be rented from the multiple local boat liveries. Lounge around the lake or on the dock or deck all day and spend your evenings in Pontiac, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Clarkston, Detroit, Windsor (Canada), or other local hot spot of your choosing. Bring your fishing pole and catch Bass, Bluegill, Pike, Walleye, and other game fish when in season. Barbecue outside or cook inside. The hot tub was wonderful, the indoor/outdoor seating areas were nice, spacious. The wifi works. The kitchen was big enough and equipped enough we were able to cook and eat in. We couldn't swim the lake near the shore because of vegetation but we did kayak and paddleboat all around. There is some great wildlife, we watched families of swans swim around over coffee. The lake is the right depth for pontoons and jet skis, we brought a little bit bigger boat and ended up putting it in a different lake nearby that had a good public launch. Tia and Mike were great hosts!"

This very unique 1940’s log cabin sits on 5 beautiful wooded acres with paths that lead to a small private lake great for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. One of only 3 homes located within the 4,000 acres of the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area with tons of things to do on the property and nearby including relaxing and swimming on the beautiful 1/2 mile long sandy beach. The entrance to the recreation area is directly across the street.

This is a very private property. The only 2 neighboring homes are hundreds of feet away from this home. The fully updated kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances includes all the kitchen tools needed to prepare a family meal.

The lake: The small private 4 acre lake is located in the back of the property far from the road and house. Guests can enjoy complete peace and quiet and observe unspoiled nature on and around the lake. Guests have the use of several kayaks, row boats, and stand up paddle boards on the lake.

Oakland Counties largest sand beach is located just a few minute drive away in the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area.

The Space:
There are 4 bedrooms for sleeping, all with Smart TV's, 3 full bathrooms, The Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. Living room with a table for game play or eating that seats 8 and a large smart TV. The Dining room area has bar stool seating for 5 people. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for anything. The sunroom has a twinkle light ceiling and is very relaxing, there is also a chaise lounge and an indoor picnic table for eating or game play. Venture outside to the back deck to use the hot tub or sit and relax. There is also a childs picnic table on the back deck. Head out to the deck off of the garage to entertain with the tiki bar and tiki table seating. Inside of the garage you will find a tiki inspired fun place to hang out! There is an indoor tiki bar, Smart TV, darts, a paradise photo back drop, a daybed with a trundle (2 twins), a bongo drum, Cornhole game, Ms. Pacman 2 player arcade with over 400 games, lots of lei's to use and the wonderful game of Limbo! When you are ready try out the karaoke machine in the garage!! Now onto the lake, take a kayak tour of the lake or swim a bit in the shallows, you can fish from the dock as well, you can also drive a short distance to the local beach which is a huge hit in the summer months!

99% of guests are visiting family, friends, on a work trip, or just exploring town. For anyone who intends to have a party, disturb the neighborhood, or in any other way violate our house rules, we want to make clear that:

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

We have a driveway that fits 2 cars, with room for 2 additional cars in our garage. There is also free street parking around the house.

The house is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock at the front door and on the back door. To access the house, enter the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, enter that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

Extra Sleeping Arrangements

Air Mattress: Designed for camping, our air mattress is extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate.

Pontiac Lake is home to a massive recreational area featuring activities from a large public lake-side beach to hiking and mountain biking trails, nature hikes, cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing, boating, and many other activities. Also, if you have a boat and are looking to use it on Pontiac Lake, there is a public boat launch at the Pontiac Lake Rec Area Access off of Gate Road on eastern side of the lake. There are over 80 parking spaces for your car and trailer there. We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules:

- No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know.
- Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm.
- Please leave your shoes at the door.
- No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies.
- No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky.
- If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair.
- Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help.

While access to public transportation is not easily available from our house, UBER and LYFT run consistently in the area and are quick, cheap, and accessible options to get anywhere in the Plymouth/Northville/Canton/Ann Arbor areas!

Pets: 2 dogs max. $300 additional fee for your entire stay. We do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the lake house. Please try to keep dogs off the furniture and beds for our future non-pet guest. If pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum or sweep up anything clearly visible .

Parking at Lake House: You can fit 4 cars but it will be a tight squeeze. Currently there is no possibility of parking more than 4 cars.

The house is situated on the absolutely best part of the lake which is right in front of the sandbar where others will gather to play water volleyball, water basketball and hang out to soak up the sun. Feel free to bring your own boat with public access to the lake just down the road, or rent a boat from Last Resort Boat Marina or Boundless Boat Rentals. Like fishing? You’re in luck!! Bring your fishing license and poles! Pontiac Lake is known for its great fishing. Perch, Walleye, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, and Northern Pike are common in Pontiac Lake.
**Please note that from Oct -April the dock will be out of the water and stored on the back lawn. There is a boat hoist that will also be stored on property during this time.
