Ahoy, matey! Welcome to Skull Island where your adventures begin, and your memories are treasured.

Your adventure begins right after you park your car in the gated parking area. You'll bring your belongings to the dock where you can load it into your boat or use ours. From the dock, the house will be in your view on the island just to the right. THERE IS NO WAY TO DRIVE TO THE ISLAND, IT CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY ROWBOAT, YOUR BOAT OR RENTED PONTOON BOAT.

The home is unmistakable with pirate flags all around, painted black with cannons mounted to the side. You are about 100 yards or about a five-minute rowboat ride from your destination.

The property is on a point of the island. This gives you 270-degree views, main view of Pontiac Lake, the beach and Gale Bay. It's great to have the sun on the front of the house and to the rear of the house, you'll find shade under the large maple tree. In the evening you'll enjoy breathtaking sunsets.

You'll have access to everything you need. On the Lake, there is a Chinese Restaurant and a couple of boat liveries. Pontiac Lake State Park has a host of things to do.

Water is the way of the pirate so let's address that. There is a rowboat and paddle boat included with the house at no charge. We rent a well-seasoned 12-person pontoon for $150 per night or a newer pontoon can be rented from the multiple local boat liveries. Lounge around the lake or on the dock or deck all day and spend your evenings in Pontiac, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Clarkston, Detroit, Windsor (Canada), or other local hot spot of your choosing. Bring your fishing pole and catch Bass, Bluegill, Pike, Walleye, and other game fish when in season. Barbecue outside or cook inside. Vacation in beautiful Oakland County while enjoying the cozy, yet upscale, Northern Michigan atmosphere of this home. Abundant wildlife in nature sanctuary type setting all around the property. The hot tub was wonderful, the indoor/outdoor seating areas were nice, spacious. The wifi works. The kitchen was big enough and equipped enough we were able to cook and eat in. We couldn't swim the lake near the shore because of vegetation but we did kayak and paddleboat all around. There is some great wildlife, we watched families of swans swim around over coffee. The lake is the right depth for pontoons and jet skis, we brought a little bit bigger boat and ended up putting it in a different lake nearby that had a good public launch. Tia and Mike were great hosts!"

This very unique 1940’s log cabin sits on 5 beautiful wooded acres with paths that lead to a small private lake great for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. One of only 3 homes located within the 4,000 acres of the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area with tons of things to do on the property and nearby including relaxing and swimming on the beautiful 1/2 mile long sandy beach. The entrance to the recreation area is directly across the street.

The lake: The small private 4 acre lake is located in the back of the property far from the road and house. Guests can enjoy complete peace and quiet and observe unspoiled nature on and around the lake. Guests have the use of several kayaks, row boats, and stand up paddle boards on the lake.

The Space:
There are 4 bedrooms for sleeping, all with Smart TV's, 3 full bathrooms, The Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. Living room with a table for game play or eating that seats 8 and a large smart TV. The Dining room area has bar stool seating for 5 people. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for anything. The sunroom has a twinkle light ceiling and is very relaxing, there is also a chaise lounge and an indoor picnic table for eating or game play. Venture outside to the back deck to use the hot tub or sit and relax. There is also a childs picnic table on the back deck. Head out to the deck off of the garage to entertain with the tiki bar and tiki table seating. Inside of the garage you will find a tiki inspired fun place to hang out! There is an indoor tiki bar, Smart TV, darts, a paradise photo back drop, a daybed with a trundle (2 twins), a bongo drum, Cornhole game, Ms. Pacman 2 player arcade with over 400 games, lots of lei's to use and the wonderful game of Limbo! When you are ready try out the karaoke machine in the garage!! Now onto the lake, take a kayak tour of the lake or swim a bit in the shallows, you can fish from the dock as well, you can also drive a short distance to the local beach which is a huge hit in the summer months!

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

We have a driveway that fits 2 cars, with room for 2 additional cars in our garage. There is also free street parking around the house.

The house is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock at the front door and on the back door. To access the house, enter the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, enter that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

Extra Sleeping Arrangements

Air Mattress: Designed for camping, our air mattress is extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate.

Pontiac Lake is home to a massive recreational area featuring activities from a large public lake-side beach to hiking and mountain biking trails, nature hikes, cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing, boating, and many other activities. Also, if you have a boat and are looking to use it on Pontiac Lake, there is a public boat launch at the Pontiac Lake Rec Area Access off of Gate Road on eastern side of the lake. There are over 80 parking spaces for your car and trailer there. We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules:

- No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know.
- Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm.
- Please leave your shoes at the door.
- No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies.
- No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky.
- If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair.
- Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help.

While access to public transportation is not easily available from our house, UBER and LYFT run consistently in the area and are quick, cheap, and accessible options to get anywhere in the Plymouth/Northville/Canton/Ann Arbor areas!

Pets: 2 dogs max. $300 additional fee for your entire stay. We do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the lake house. Please try to keep dogs off the furniture and beds for our future non-pet guest. If pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum or sweep up anything clearly visible .

Parking at Lake House: You can fit 4 cars but it will be a tight squeeze. Currently there is no possibility of parking more than 4 cars.

The house is situated on the absolutely best part of the lake which is right in front of the sandbar where others will gather to play water volleyball, water basketball and hang out to soak up the sun. Feel free to bring your own boat with public access to the lake just down the road, or rent a boat from Last Resort Boat Marina or Boundless Boat Rentals. Like fishing? You’re in luck!! Bring your fishing license and poles! Pontiac Lake is known for its great fishing. Perch, Walleye, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, and Northern Pike are common in Pontiac Lake.
**Please note that from Oct -April the dock will be out of the water and stored on the back lawn. There is a boat hoist that will also be stored on property during this time.

The main area of the home has a picturesque surround view of the lake with ample number of windows. Beachy Lake Home Vibes - decorated with renters in mind. Four bedrooms (3 Queen beds, 3 Twin beds) and 1 bathroom. Summer months - canoe and pontoon boat available upon request. Perfect backyard for bonfires and roasting smores. Also, come enjoy the brand-new HOT TUB on the back deck!!!

GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have access to the full home, including the deck, backyard, dock, lake, and driveway. The shed will only be available if renting the pontoon boat.

PETS:
We do not allow animals on the property at this time. If you have a special request or own a service animal, please message us to discuss. If you are caught bringing an animal on site without our prior approval, you will be charged a $150 pet fee + repairs if any damage occurs.

SAFETY:
Safety is our #1 priority! Being on a lake, children are not to be left unattended. 5 adult life vests and 2 child size life vests (age 1-9) are provided. Please ALWAYS use the life vests while renting the pontoon boat. If you need more life vests, please plan ahead and bring extra. In addition, please be aware this home is not handicap accessible.

BONFIRES/GRILL:
Should you wish to use the firepit, a bundle of firewood will be provided, consisting of 3-5 pieces of wood, similar to what you would purchase at a state campground. Addtional firewood can be purchased at most local hardware/grocery stores and gas stations. We will not provide fire starters or lighter fluid. Do not use gasoline to light a fire. Please do not put sand into the fire pit. Lastly, the outdoor grill is propane. We try to keep one spare propane tank in the shed in case the propane tank inside the grill runs out. Please swap them if needed.

PARKING:
The driveway can only accommodate 3 vehicles. We cannot accommodate any type of trailer. Please do not park on the road as this will impede on the neighbors' driveway access. The driveway is sloped and may get icy in the winter months. Please watch your step as conditions may be slick.

FISHING:
If you are going to be fishing off the boat, canoe, dock, or ice fishing, Conservation Officers require fishing license on public lakes. $10 daily pass or $26 annually (easily purchased online) Michigan.gov dnr or purchase at Meijer or Dunhams.

PONTOON BOAT:
Ask about renting our pontoon boat!!! we will send you a message about how to obtain boaters insurance and the rental process. The boat launch is private, so you cannot put your own boat into the water, unfortunately.

HOT TUB:
For stays of five days or longer, please be aware that if the hot tub is used heavily—particularly on a nightly basis—routine maintenance such as a chlorine shock treatment and filter cleaning may be required to maintain water quality. Any servicing will be carried out with consideration for your schedule and comfort, and we will proceed based on your preferences and availability.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT DETAILS:
• The property uses a well water system. The water has been professionally tested and is safe for consumption.
• The home is equipped with forced-air heating only; central air conditioning is not available. This is typical for an older Michigan lake front cottage.
• To ensure comfort during warmer months, we provide stand-alone air conditioning units on each floor, placed in select bedrooms. We kindly ask that you do not move these units, as they have been strategically positioned for optimal performance and to ensure the home operates efficiently and reliably.
• Michigan’s climate typically lacks the intense heat and humidity found in other states, and many guests find the home comfortable without air conditioning. That said, opening windows and using ceiling fans can significantly enhance airflow and help maintain a pleasant indoor temperature during warmer days.

CAMERAS:
There are 4 cameras on the property. (1) First camera is mounted to the front of the home and faced the parking spaces. (2) Second camera is mounted mid-section of the home and faces the front orange guest access door. (3) Third camera is mounted to the rear of the home and faces the lake. (4) Fourth camera is a bird feeder mounted to the back of the shed and faces the dock/boat. It is motion activated.

But overall, we were very happy!"

The space
The bedroom has a memory foam twin mattress, a work desk and chair, and a small nightstand with a lamp for reading. Your room will be down the hall and to the left. The tv is in the living room, which is a shared space. The kitchen is also a shared space and you may use the plates, bowls, silverware, microwave, and fridge to store your food. However, food in the fridge is not shared. The other two bedrooms are off limits to guests. I do not use the bathroom directly next to your bedroom often, so it will primary be you that uses it.

Guest access
There is a driveway to park in, which allows you to park within 20 feet of the house. In the harsh winter months, it may be best to park at the top of the driveway along the side of the road. Which I will provide the closest and most convenient space for you.

During your stay
My schedule requires I’m in and out of the house, but I can be contacted by text or phone to answer any questions you have. When I am home I will gladly help with any needs you may have. You will have access to the house via an electronic lock and 4 digit code.

Other things to note
The lights in the shared spaces are automatic and should stay on all the time since they will turn off and on automatically when entering a room. No need to turn off any lights.

The space
This is a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath home on a peaceful acre lot in White Lake Township Michigan. I am currently residing in the home using the Master Suite. I have recently acquired two tenants who occupy the Room over the garage. Please note that three cats stay in their room with them and can roam the entire home when no other guests come over. I will rent out the other two bedrooms where guests share the Upstairs bathroom and the rest of the home except the master bedroom suite. I enjoy preparing meals for my guests who have never complained.

"Mandon Retreat" is on a short dirt road (approx. 200 yards) with minimal traffic in a quiet neighborhood. Our home is directly on All-Sports Mandon Lake with the canal right in our backyard! 30 minutes (15 miles) to Pine Knob Ski Resort / Amphitheater, 10 minutes (5 miles) to Alphine Valley Ski Resort, 30 minutes (17 miles) to Mount Brighton, 30 minutes (17 miles) to Oakland University, 25 minutes (12 miles) to Pontiac's northern loop of the Woodward Dream Cruise, within 12 miles of 10 Oakland County golf courses, and less than 10 minutes to 15+ water front restaurants and bars!

About Mandon Lake:

The lake is affectionately known as the "Mighty Mandon", because despite its smaller size all sports are permitted.
With a maximum depth of 18 feet, Mandon Lake is fully capable of having skiing or watertubing. Being a smaller lake, it is private, making it a great place to reap all the benefits of waterfront living in Michigan.

Total Mid Century meets artists loft vibe. Newly remodeled. Sits in a quiet, family friendly NEIGHBORHOOD. Great for taking walks or riding the two bikes 🚴 we offer. Gives you that up north feeling with nearby convenience and comfort. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could need to enjoy a nice meal (food not included). Typical A-Frame stairs leading upstairs to two bedrooms. The master is in the back and has a work desk, queen bed and an awesome walk out balcony to sit and enjoy the birds chirping on. The front bedroom has two futon beds - perfect for one person per bed. It overlooks the downstairs living room area in a lofted setting. The game room has a sauna, bunches of games - including board games and a washer and dryer and additional refrigerator.

Local attractions include White Lake Oaks golf course & Union Lake Golf Course - great for golfing and cross country skiing (at White Lake Oaks). Just a very short walk to Cedar Island Lake, close proximity to Alpine Valley Ski Resort and plenty of family friendly adventuring on the play scape and trails at Hess Hathaway Park, as well as Pontiac Lake Recreation Area. Not far to Twelve Oaks Mall, MJR theater and numerous wonderful restaurants. Just a short 15 minute drive from and to the Oakland County International Airport.

Just a few suggestions if you’re looking for stuff in the area. There is an ice cream place called Mr. C’s not far from there that’s very popular in the summer time. For breakfast, Leo’s Coney’s are always a good bet. Our cafe is approximately 20 minutes from there if you’re looking to drive a little more. It’s called @la_cafe_ on insta. We are closed on Mondays and open 9am-3pm Tuesday- Sunday. Highland House on
M 59 has been around as long as I can remember and has amazing food for everyone - lunch and dinner. There is another place called Stellas - lunch and dinner - which is a little more on the fancy side but family friendly. Stella’s is in White Lake, right off of M 59 by Kroger, Hobby Lobby, JCPenney and Marshalls. There’s an Urgent Care in that same strip mall area. Both Highland House and Stella’s have great pizza! The breadsticks at Highland House are a MUST TRY!!! There’s a bar/restaurant called Billys Tippin Inn, also on M 59 that has live music and good food. Spraders on the Lake is a little dive bar on the water just minutes from the Aframe that offers drinks and appetizers. It’s about eight minutes from where you are. Nashville Detroit on Highland Rd has a little bit of anything greasy you could be craving and everyone raves about the gyro sandwiches at Graceland Party Store, also on Highland Rd.

Meijer and Kroger are grocery stores on M59 (which is also called Highland road), as well as VC’s and if you’re looking for an afternoon matinee, MJR movie theater is about ten minutes from there.

Ruggles Ranch & Farm Market on White Lake Rd. is open all summer long and offers fresh produce, homemade donuts and cider. You may want to call ahead of time depending on the time of year 🥰

In the winter time, Alpine Valley Ski Resort is just a short drive away. There is also cross country skiing at White Lake Oaks golf course.

We highly recommend downtown Milford there’s an outdoor farmers market there in the summer on Thursday nights from 3-7pm. The town is known for its little shops, restaurants and a nice downtown walking street!

White Lake Oaks Golf Course is a ten minute drive from the house and Chela yoga (owners name is Marlo) is even closer and offers all levels of yoga, as well as floating savansahs (with silks suspended from the ceiling). Marlo will gladly accommodate private groups for classes with prior notice - message us and we can get in touch with her for you if needed.

Or you may just enjoy the sun rise over the lake from behind the large kitchen windows. Within minutes are Alpine Valley Ski and the amazing hiking/bike trails of Pontiac Lake Recreation Area.

HOUSE: The rectangular house has one short side facing the street and the other short side facing Pontiac Lake. The interior of the house has three bedrooms, an open living room/dining area, a full bathroom with bathtub, and a full kitchen adjacent to laundry.

LAKE FRONT: The back has a spacious deck with an outdoor dining area overlooking an open grassy backyard adjacent to the lake. There's a dock, a small sandy beach, a fire pit, 2 adult kayaks, and a child kayak.

PARKING: You can park 2 cars on the concrete driveway and fit 3 cars by overlapping on the grassy areas to the driveway's left & right. Inside garage parking is not possible as it's now a storage area and part of the house's interior.

WARNING:
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house. A $1,000 cleaning fee will be charged for any sign of smoking.
- Maximum occupancy is 7 people.
- Please let us know if you will be bringing a pet.
- Guests may only start fire in the designated fire pit in the backyard.
- Please do not leave children unattended when outside, near lake front, or on the water.
- No diving off of the dock. The water near the dock is very shallow.

Other things to note
NATURE: Due to the house's lake front setting, various wildlife (turtles, geese, cranes, voles, insects, etc.) may come onto the property from time to time. We highly appreciate your assistance in keeping the property clean, properly disposing garbage, not leaving food and crumbs out, and immediately informing us of any incident so that we may promptly rectify the issue.

GOOGLE NEST SMART THERMOSTAT: This thermostat is installed in all of our Airbnb homes. We’re not at our Airbnb homes all the time, so it’s our best option as hosts to remotely and automatically regulate and monitor our homes’ temperature to keep our guests comfortable, keep our homes safe by preventing extreme cold from freezing and bursting our water pipes (a common occurrence here in very cold Michigan), and save energy and relieve the energy grid, especially during the high energy demand winter when we may not have guests for weeks. To accomplish all of this, we set the Nest Thermostat to automatically go to “Eco Temperature” of 58 F when a guest is not home; the Nest thermostat will automatically raise the temperature to 68 F when it senses that a guest has entered/re-entered the home via the linked Nest Yale door lock. Without smart thermostats, we would spend much time/effort driving back and forth to control the temperature at our multiple Airbnb homes, and most importantly, we won’t know when our water pipes may freeze and burst due to furnace failure, which happens quite often during the dead of winter when the furnace is at its peak demand and stress. Like all machines, the Nest thermostat is not perfect; our automatic settings can’t and won’t accommodate all situations. Many guests are comfortable with our settings. Some guests feel it’s too hot while others think it’s too cold, especially the Eco Temperature of 58 F (for perspective, Google recommends setting the Eco Temperature to 50 F, while the Eco Temperature is set to 55 F at own home). Some guests became interested in installing a Nest thermostat (or at least a smart one) in the their own homes after using ours. We understand that temperature control is personal and unique to every person. Fighting over the thermostat sometimes occur within our family, which we imagine occurs in many other families. But imagine having to balance the competing temperature preferences of hundreds of guests at seven Airbnb homes and you can understand the impossibility of our task. As such, you’re always welcome to adjust the Nest thermostat to your comfort. If you’re unfamiliar with the Nest thermostat’s operation, please reach out to us, and we will gladly help you adjust the Nest thermostat to best accommodate your unique situation. As always, don’t hesitate to contact us during your stay for any reason, regardless of day/time, as it’s our job to be available 24/7 to do everything we can to rectify any issue preventing you from enjoying your stay.

SAFETY:
Safety is our #1 priority! Being on a lake, children are not to be left unattended. Multiple adult life vests ranging from S/M/L and 4 child size life vests (age 1-9) are provided. Please ALWAYS use the life vests while renting the pontoon boat. In addition, please be aware this home is not handicap accessible.

BONFIRES/GRILL:
Should you wish to use the firepit, a bundle of firewood will be provided, consisting of 3-5 pieces of wood, similar to what you would purchase at a state campground. Addtional firewood can be purchased at most local hardware/grocery stores and gas stations. We will not provide fire starters or lighter fluid. Do not use gasoline to light a fire. Please do not put sand into the fire pit. Lastly, the outdoor grill is propane. We try to keep one spare propane tank in the shed in case the propane tank inside the grill runs out. Please swap them if needed.

FISHING:
If you are going to be fishing off the boat, canoe, dock, or ice fishing, Conservation Officers require fishing license on public lakes. $10 daily pass or $26 annually (easily purchased online) Michigan.(gov) dnr or purchase at Meijer or Dunhams. Please plan ahead and bring your favorite fishing pole (fishing gear not provided).

BOAT:
Ask about renting our pontoon boat!!! we will send you a message about how to obtain boaters insurance and the rental process.

PETS:
We do not allow animals on the property at this time. If you have a special request or own a service animal, please message us to discuss. Thank you for understanding!

You will have access to the entire home (with the exception of a locked cleaning closet), as well as the backyard, parking area (accommodating up to three vehicles), deck, hot tub, beach, lake, and dock.

Please note: access to the shed—containing water sports equipment and life vests—is only available to guests who have included the boat rental as part of their reservation.

A pontoon boat is available for rent during the warmer months (May–September). Keys are provided via a smart lockbox. Boat is prefilled with gasoline.

The boat launch is not public, so we cannot accommodate your personal boat.

There are 4 bedrooms for sleeping, all with Smart TV's, 3 full bathrooms, The Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. Living room with a table for game play or eating that seats 8 and a large smart TV. The Dining room area has bar stool seating for 5 people. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for anything. The sunroom has a twinkle light ceiling and is very relaxing, there is also a chaise lounge and an indoor picnic table for eating or game play. Venture outside to the back deck to use the hot tub or sit and relax. There is also a childs picnic table on the back deck. Head out to the deck off of the garage to entertain with the tiki bar and tiki table seating. Inside of the garage you will find a tiki inspired fun place to hang out! There is an indoor tiki bar, Smart TV, darts, a paradise photo back drop, a daybed with a trundle (2 twins), a bongo drum, Cornhole game, Ms. Pacman 2 player arcade with over 400 games, lots of lei's to use and the wonderful game of Limbo! The residence boasts a large master bedroom complete with 2 plush queen-sized memory foam beds. Bedroom number two is appointed with 2 sets of bunk beds (4 twin mattresses). The inviting living room is furnished with a large sectional and a comfortable futon. With a variety of sleeping options, our home offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience for your next stay.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

The house is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock at the front door and on the back door. To access the house, enter the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, enter that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

Air Mattress: Designed for camping, our air mattress is extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate.

Pontiac Lake is home to a massive recreational area featuring activities from a large public lake-side beach to hiking and mountain biking trails, nature hikes, cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing, boating, and many other activities. Also, if you have a boat and are looking to use it on Pontiac Lake, there is a public boat launch at the Pontiac Lake Rec Area Access off of Gate Road on eastern side of the lake. Additional firewood can be purchased at most local hardware/grocery stores and gas stations. Lighter fluid will be provided. Do not use gasoline to light a fire. Please do not put sand into the fire pit. Lastly, the outdoor grill is run by natural gas connected to the house so no reason to worry about changing propane


FISHING:
If you are going to be fishing off the canoe, dock, or ice fishing, Conservation Officers require a fishing license on public lakes. $10 daily pass or $26 annually (easily purchased online) Michigan.(gov) dnr or purchase at Meijer or Dunhams.
