- "My husband and I are in our 80's and we were joined by family from across the country, ranging from 60 to 12 years old. There was something there for everyone. The younger folks had their own area to play games, billiards, and ping pong downstairs. Since we don't do stairs well, we had everything we needed on the first floor and were very comfortable. The hosts were exceptional with how they provided little extras. They even had coffee pods for us on the first day. I feel bad that I didn't get enough to leave replacements - even my replacements were all used up before I realized it. The fact that they had both types of coffee pots, an ice cream freezer, plenty of dishes and cooking supplies made it easy to enjoy time "at home" with the gathered family having meals. We really enjoyed the fireplace on the deck in the evening when it wasn't raining, and it was wonderful there were so many seating areas outside that someone could get get away from the crowd if they needed to. I can't say enough good things about both the house and the hosts, they were responsive and so pleasant. The views are fantastic and we left with many pictures, to include the precious deer wandering everywhere. We would highly recommend this rental for any family with various ages - or anyone else. It was spectacular."

This cozy home is located in the small town of Grottoes, Virginia nestled between the shade of an old Oak Tree, Maple Tree, and Pine Trees. It sits on approximately three acres with a large field behind the house where kids can run and play. In the Spring and Summer, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the rose garden in the back yard. My father passed away in March of 2017 and left behind the old home place. He spent many hours in his rose garden and enjoyed delivering them to his wife in the nursing home. Since his passing, I've completely renovated this beautiful old home on Dogwood Ave and have also began to learn the art of growing roses. My father loved to help others and loved people and I am carrying on the tradition of helping others by offering a location where folks can come away, relax and unwind. There are two lovely bedrooms; one of which has two antique brass beds. There is a special room in memory of my father who was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition, there are games for all ages and many books and memorabilia to enjoy. The kitchen has a modern yet retro look to it. There is an old red Formica table that seats four. You can also sit and enjoy the big screen TV while seated at the bar in the kitchen. There is a coffee station completely furnished with coffee and teas to choose from.

- "Good times!" - "Had never heard of Massenutten prior to this trip! What a wonderful house with the great amenities of the resort! The area is beautiful! I have never stayed in a cleaner home than this one!" - "We would definitely stay here again. Here are the pros—Cleanliness: Everything was incredibly clean, I would say cleaner than many non-pet-friendly places we’ve stayed. Tubs were in great shape, we didn’t have any hesitation about utilizing jet tubs in bedrooms. Even the bbq grill was clean. Comfort: Plenty of places to sit and relax, comfy couches and chairs on both floors. Mattresses and provided pillows were supportive not too firm or too soft. We slept very well. Amenities: House had everything we needed with some small exceptions(see cons), the game room setup downstairs was a great place to hang out in the evenings. Resort amenities were wonderful. We especially loved the petting farm, highly recommend if you are traveling with little ones who like animals or is something fun to do if adults enjoy petting sheep and goats :) Here are the cons, but there aren’t many— No spices/salt/pepper: One of the great things about VRBO homes is that you can usually find salt pepper and maybe some other spices or cooking oil in the kitchen. This kitchen is very well organized and nicely stocked but it’s clear anything left behind is tossed. Accentuated by the empty salt and pepper shakers nicely arranged on dining table. Not a big deal but come prepared! Dish soap, sponge, dishwasher tabs, trash bags and paper towels are provided with enough to last a long weekend, maybe even a full week. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would love to go back in summer!"

The space is 900 sq feet studio basement apt. with your own entrance and patio. It is net zero , energy efficient, space with a sleeping, sitting, dinning and TV areas(direct TV and Chrome Cast).

The kitchenette is equipped with everything you might need - a mini fridge, microwave, convection toaster oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, crock pot, outside electric grill. Coffee and paper products supplied. Our well water is filtered and sanitized with UV light. No need to bring bottled water. We have a induction counter cooker for stove top cooking, but ask for that amenity, as proper use is important.

- "We loved our two day stay! Very spacious, clean and comfortable! The view of the mountains, sheep, and horses were an added bonus!
