The view! Our peaceful studio has everything you need to enjoy your time with us including an amazing view of the lake. It has a full kitchen, tiny bathroom and laundry. The Carriage House is in a stand alone structure located near our home. The private Suite is a clean, fresh, airy, one room studio-style self contained unit.
It is close to a LOT of outdoor activities: swimming, boating, river rafting/kayaking, golfing, zip lining, biking, hiking, and walking. From studio, its only 15 minutes to Carowinds Amusement park, 25 minutes to Charlotte, NC or Airport. An easy drive to big city attractions. At days end, relax and enjoy dinner by the lake!
Guest access: FREE on road or driveway parking.
Guests are encouraged to use the white double decker dock, rocking chairs, hammock, backyard, porch and courtyard area.
Other things to note
There is a no smoking, vaping, burning things (i.e. candles, incense), or doing illegal drugs in the Carriage House Suite. There us a $500 fine and we will ask you to leave. (Except for the illegal part... what you do outside is your business)
We are generally on site and will access other portions of the Carriage House from time to time.

Carowinds theme park, The BMX bike Center, Kingsley office Park is close with several new restaurants. Kayak the Cawtaba river, Walk the River walk. Horse back riding at Ann Springs Close Greenway, hiking, mountain bike riding in 2,100 acres of trails is available there. Many places to eat nearby in Fort Mill (and Baxter Village). We are 12 miles close to uptown Charlotte with its many attractions, Nascar, Panthers stadium, Hornets Basketball arena, shopping, museums, an outlet mall are some things to do. The Charlotte airport is about 19 miles away. We are very close to Morningstar and All Nations church, too.
We have easy off-on access to I-77 (just two miles away).

We appreciate no shoes in the house unless you need them for health reasons. There's a supply of comfy slippers at our front door.

Your room is located on 2nd level where you will have lots of privacy. While upstairs, you can overlook from open balcony our spacious livingroom where you can enjoy lounging. We are very accommodating with your privacy needs versus socialization interests. If you like relaxing with twinkly lights & candles, our home is decorated year-round in every room of home for Christmas. Guests love sitting out on the back porch with the twinkly lights & water fountain going in good weather and surrounded by mature trees and a pond.

In addition to your complimentary Continental breakfast, there are plenty of available snacks & beverages that are included in the price of your room. Please let us know if anyone in your party has any food allergies or sensitivities.

During May through August, you have access to our HOA pool, tennis courts, and pickleball courts. Please ask for details.

Please, no smoking OR vaping in or outside of home. No wild parties...family fun welcomed (there's a closet filled with games and toys in your room). Only approved guests at registration unless discussed with host.

Enjoy your stay in our peaceful studio apartment. It is the perfect, private oasis within a beautiful lakeside suburban community.

Our space is located above our second garage and has a separate entrance from our home. There is plenty of parking for you in the driveway, or Uber at your convenience.

Our property boasts over 1.8 acres, home to an abundance of deer that linger close by. We also have two fire pits and a gas grill available for use.

Stays must be a minimum of 90 days.

The space
This is a studio apartment with one queen bed and one pullout sofa bed. The bathroom includes a standing shower, however note there is not a tub.

There is a kitchenette, which includes a sink, refrigerator, 2 burner electric stovetop, microwave and toaster oven. Some additional appliances may be available as well, such as a crockpot and instapot.

The studio has its own entrance and is a separate building from the main home. It is located above the second garage. There is a separate staircase leading to the door and a keypad to get inside.

We recently acquired backyard chickens. 🐓 Although they were supposed to be all hens, we ended up with one rooster. The rooster does crow in the morning, which may add to the nostalgia of the place or may drive you crazy. 😜 If the latter, please reach out before booking to discuss.

The backyard is mainly wooded. In the spring and summer, it is very private and beautifully landscaped. During the winter, you may be able to see the lake, if you squint!

Access to 2 kayaks, home gym, golf cart and home movie theater may be available for use during your stay, pending availability. Please ask for additional details.

Please note that the City ordinance requires stay of no less than 90 days. Given the 90-day duration requirement, cleaning services may be available bi-weekly or monthly for an additional fee.

Parking is available in the driveway, shared with the homeowners. There is enough room to get to the bottom of the driveway to park closest to the studio apartment entrance. The driveway can be a little tricky to navigate with the hill, so please take your time and ask for help if you need it. There is plenty of room for on-street parking as well.

For additional fee(s), we will consider allowing one well-trained, well-kept, non-aggressive, house-trained dog, however no cats. Dogs must not have any separation anxiety and be kid-friendly. Note that the property is not fenced in. Other pets may be considered on a case by case basis.

The studio apartment is 100% yours. If you’d like to use the yard or either of the fire pits, you are welcome to as well. Our family is outside frequently, so just note that the yard is shared space. When you arrive, you will park on the left side of our driveway, closest to our front door. If you bring a second car, you will park tandem on the left side.

Once you are on our front porch and enter our home, you may hear barking from our 2 friendly, low-allergy shih tzu / lhasa apso dogs, Butters & Midnite. In no time, they'll become your best friends (or if you prefer, we can keep them from you).

We appreciate no shoes in the house unless you need them for health reasons. There's a supply of comfy slippers at our front door.

Your room is located on 2nd level where you will have lots of privacy. While upstairs, you can overlook from open balcony our spacious livingroom where you can enjoy lounging. We are very accommodating with your privacy needs versus socialization interests. If you like relaxing with twinkly lights & candles, our home is decorated year-round in every room of home for Christmas. Guests love sitting out on the back porch with the twinkly lights & water fountain going in good weather and surrounded by mature trees and a pond.

In addition to your complimentary Continental breakfast, there are plenty of available snacks & beverages that are included in the price of your room. Please let us know if anyone in your party has any food allergies or sensitivities.

During May through August, you have access to our HOA pool, tennis courts, and pickleball courts. Please ask for details.

Please, no smoking OR vaping in or outside of home. No wild parties...family fun welcomed (there's a closet filled with games and toys in your room). Only approved guests at registration unless discussed with host.

Quiet hours: 10pm-6am (We can provide self-check-In if you need to arrive late).

Check-in after 3pm/check out by 11am (Ask if exceptions are needed).

No pets and no children under the age of 2 as our home is not child-proofed.

During the summer months, you can use our community pool & tennis courts.

Other things to note
We welcome everyone passing through the area and needing either an overnight stay, or a longer stay while on a business trip, or looking to relocate to this area (we've helped several families with their transition to the Charlotte area), or those wanting a fun destination for a vacation. There is a lot to see and do in this area (after you book, if you provide your email, we can send you a calendar of events for this area). Carowinds Amusement Park is just a 5-minute drive from our home & most other area attractions are 15-25 minute drive!

With space for up to 4 guests, the private apartment has everything you could need - fully stocked chefs kitchen, a Keurig coffee bar, super comfortable bed, a washer & dryer and access to Netflix & Hulu.

Only 5 mins to downtown Fort Mill, less than 15 minutes to Ballantyne, and an easy 30 minutes to the heart of Charlotte, you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle while still being central to all the best attractions, shopping and dining.

The space
This beautiful modern apartment features sun drenched rooms and beautiful floors with open plan living throughout the kitchen, dining, and lounge area.

Private access to the apartment is via the side entrance where you will find free parking for your car. Once inside guests will take the stairs to the second level where your home away from home awaits. There are no shared walls with the main house, you will have the entire apartment to yourself.

Inside the fully stocked chefs’ kitchen you will find everything you could need to create your favorite culinary delights. There is a full-size fridge/freezer, an oven and cooktop, a built-in microwave, and a dishwasher.

Enjoy your morning coffee from the Keurig coffee station while you sit at the breakfast bar, the perfect place to hang out and keep the chef company. Or take your meals over to the dining table where you can sit and enjoy good food and wine with friends.

Within the living space is a wall mounted smart TV with complimentary access to Netflix and Hulu and a sofa with a gallery window above. In the corner is a reading chair which overlooks the quiet neighborhood below. On the TV cabinet you will find a small library of books as well as a selection of games to keep everyone entertained.

The bright master bedroom features a luxuriously comfortable queen bed with super soft linen and a large double closet with plenty of storage space. There is a second wall mounted smart TV with access to your favorite streaming services where you can lay back and enjoy a movie night tucked up in bed.

Just off the bedroom you will find the modern New York style bathroom with its unique window like shower and sleek designer floor tiles. Inside the vanity you will find a hair dryer and other bathroom essentials as well as soft towels for each guest.

The apartment works best for couples or families with a kid. The kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen essentials. Fresh towels and bathroom essentials are provided for your convenience. There is a neighborhood swimming pool (open seasonally) and tennis courts.

The bedroom has a queen size bed and the living room has a couch. The bedroom has a smart tv and the living room has Amazon fire tv. I also have a pack n play for your little one. There is a shower and a double sink.
