The apartment occupies the top two floors of an old Georgian townhouse in Bloomsbury, a quiet, elegant corner of central London, close to Russell Square, Kings Cross-St Pancras and Chancery Lane tube stations. You are in the centre of London, close enough to walk to most of the places you'll want to visit, short bus or tube rides to other tourist must-sees, but this is a quiet, secure part of town with little night time traffic or noise. Built in the 1790s, this historic building boasts all the luxuries of a modern home, including a fully-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer plus lots of pots, pans and utensils for cooking), washing machine, satellite TV and DVD player, free wi-fi, power shower and modern bathroom.

The kitchen has plenty of crockery and cutlery, cooking utensils, baking trays, saucepans, a wok, pots, pans and everything you need to make a family supper and eat in. We also have a flask and some sandwich boxes for you to make lunch and take it out with you (ideal if you are feeding a family).

A short but steep flight of stairs leads up to two bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower, with plentiful hot water. The basin has a mirror over it and the heated towel rail and underfloor heating keeps the bathroom warm and cosy.

The large master bedroom has a king-size double bed and a single bed with large wardrobe, feature mirror and Victorian chest of drawers. Two bedside tables with drawers each have a touch operated lamps. There's an alarm clock too. The master bedroom can sleep three people, but is usually used for two adults.

The second bedroom has two single beds (adult sized) with Victorian chest of drawers, hanging space for clothes and mirror. Both bedrooms have 'black-out' blinds so that you are not woken by early morning sun.

A cot (baby crib) and highchair are available on request (please bring your own bedding for the baby's cot). Bed linen and towels included.

A hairdryer, an iron and ironing board are provided, along with an umbrella.

A good choice of restaurants are within a 5 minute walk and there is a large Waitrose supermarket 10 minutes walk away in The Brunswick Shopping Centre. A smaller Co-Op supermarket is a convenient 3 minute walk on Grays Inn Road.

This is an ideal holiday home for a family or friends looking to explore London from a central base.

John Street is a six minute walk from Russell Square tube station (subway) or Chancery Lane tube station. We are a 15 minute walk to Kings Cross-St Pancras stations (tube and Eurostar trains to France). We will send you full directions when you book. Getting Here - Air: It is an easy journey from London Heathrow Airport to John St, as the local tube (subway or underground) station runs directly to the airport. From there it's a 6 minute walk to the apartment. From other London airports (Gatwick, Stansted, Luton or City airports), you can take the train into the centre of London and make a short tube or taxi journey to the apartment. We will send you full directions when you book.

Getting Here - Rail: John Street is a fifteen minute walk from the mainline stations, Kings Cross and St Pancras International where the Eurostar service for Paris, Lille and Brussels now departs. Euston Station is a few minutes further away. It is a short bus ride from London Bridge and Waterloo stations. Paddington is a tube ride away.

ALLERGY SUFFERERS: we have blinds (no curtains), wooden floors in the bedrooms (the only carpet is in the hallway) and can supply feather-free bedding on request.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE COMING? - we have six sleeping places but as we only have one bathroom we do not let the apartment to six people. Holborn is the great find. Bordering the West End, it is in walking distance from the Theater district, Oxford Street and the shopping district, Trafalgar Square and the Thames River. The British Museum is a mere 4 streets away. Fashionable Lambs Conduit Street with its small exclusive shops/botiques restaurants, bars is around the corner. It is simply central London with less noise at night and a lovely neighborhood feel just steps from the bustling west end life, yet walkable to there.

The flat is central to all forms of transport.
It is two streets from Holborn Underground Station which is on both the Central Line and Piccadilly Lines. Heathrow airport is on the Piccadilly Line. Liverpool Street Station is on the Central Line which also connects you with Stanstead Airport. Kings Cross Station with connection Gatwick Airport and Luton airport. As you can see it is very central. Most buses cross either north to south or east to west through Holborn area.

Many stores near by, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer Food and Sainsbury are all on High Holborn Street as well as any food/cafe/restaurnt you might desire. Also out the front door of the flat is the The Dolphin Pub (which closes at 11pm and across the street is the Enterprise pub. Along Red Lion Street are restaurants from Japan, China, Italy, Korean, Malaysian, India as well as steak houses and great pub food such as The Lamb on Lambs Conduit Street.

My amazing split level penthouse located on the 2/3 floor (no lift) is very specious with great size bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and lovely living area and kitchen. A charming one bedroom very clean apartment located in a Victorian Mansion, with one sitting room with a double sofa bed to accommodate a child or a guest for one night only as it is not particularly comfortable, one double room with a very comfortable double bed, a bathroom with bath and shower, a kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave and cooking facilities.

My apartment is so quiet that at times you forget that you are in the heart of London. It is tucked away on one corner of the 4th floor - 64 stairs - which makes it very bright. There are plenty of windows as you can see from the pictures. Please bear in mind that there is no lift.

It is located near a garden Square and at the back there is a lovely courtyard with no traffic access.

It is just a 4 minutes walking distance from Holborn Station or just 2 minutes away for the nearest bus stop should you wish to travel by bus. I barely use public transport as everything is walking distance. British Museum 8 mins, Covent Garden 15 mins, Trafalgar 20 mins, Oxford Street 10 mins, Soho 13 mins. Leicester Square 15 minutes.

We are also extremely close to the legal hub of London. Originally this Mansion was built to accommodate the Barristers working in London during the week who would go back to their family country home at the weekend. The block was originally built on the grounds of Gray's Inn. One of the three Inns of Court in London. The other two are Lincoln's Inn and Inner and Middle Temple.

This apartment is ideal if you wish to stay just a week or a month. I have been living here permanently for 16 years this July and I still love it.

It is ideal for a single person, for a couple and even if you have a guest for a night as there is a double sofa bed in the living room.

Even though the flat could possibly accommodate 4 adults I do not advertise it as such because if you use the living room as another bedroom it will leave only the kitchen as a communal area and the kitchen is not big enough for that.

It will be my pleasure to meet you when you arrive and when you leave and I will also always be contactable by mobile or email should you wish to speak to me during your stay or before you book or arrive.

I am afraid but no pets are permitted and no smoking in the flat nor communal areas is allowed and please be respectful towards our neighbours.

The studio is bright and sunny with 4 large windows and a comfortable bed in an alcove on the other side. The stove and microwave worked fine. The shower was a good size with plenty of hot water, although the sink/washbasin a little cramped next to the wall (need to close the door to get full in front of the sink). This 52-sqm apartment is located on the 1st floor without an elevator. The living area is furnished with a flat-screen TV and dining table and can also be used as a work-from-home space. The apartment includes Wi-Fi, suitable for working from home and making video calls.

The fully equipped kitchen has an electric tea kettle, sink, toaster, mini refrigerator, stove, drip coffee machine, and more. Full sets of dishes, cutlery and crockery are provided along with pots, pans and kitchen utensils. The flat comes with a clothes washing machine and drying rack. An iron and ironing board, vacuum, mop and broom are available.

The Master bedroom is street facing and furnished with a double bed and superior quality mattress. Professionally laundered sheets, comforters, pillows and pillowcases are provided to you, as well as bath towels for each guest. The flat has one bathroom accessible via the hallway with a shower, toilet and sink. The bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer plus complementary toilet rolls, shampoo, shower gel and hand soap to start your stay.

Stay in the oldest house in Bloomsbury, dating back to 1686! Amazing central London location with excellent transport connections, this bohemian house is full of rustic charm and even has a book written about its history. Guests enjoy a large double room on the top floor & a bathroom shared with myself & my partner.

The space
The house is over four-hundred years old and much of its original charm and soul remains. This does however lend itself to some rather quirky features and rustic charm - be prepared for sloping, creaky floorboards and old plumbing. There is a private music room on the ground floor, so don't be surprised if you hear opera singers as you enter the house! The flat is at the top of three flights of stairs.
Check in is 3pm but guests arriving early can drop off bags early if need be.
Nearby Lambs Conduit Street is full of independent cafes and shops that are just a few minutes from the house. The British Musuem, Covent Garden and Soho are also all within walking distance.

You will share the top floor flat with myself and my partner George and have access to a large double bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom is shared with just George & I. Two other people live on the floor below, so you may see them passing through the house. They occasionally use the washing machine / freezer in the flat, so you may briefly pass them in the flat. However they have their own kitchen, bathroom and dining area, so please respect their privacy and head straight up to the top floor.

I'm out and about a lot but should be around during your stay to give you tips of where to visit and point you in the direction of the best cafes. If I'm not home when you check in, I will give you a code for the door so you can let yourself in.
