Took about 20 mins to get to skyline caverns and 45 mins to get to Luray caverns. Front Royal town is about a 15 min drive to get supply's. Beautiful, authentic, historic Farmhouse and Country Home (circa 1916) on 45 forested acres at the foot of a tall mountain with a pristine stream that runs in front of the home. Located in Manassas Gap, gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley, directly across the valley from historic African Mountain and the Southern Appalachian range. Located in a biodiversity hotspot near many historic landmarks, parks, trails, rivers, farms, country kitchens, and festival locations.

A wide range of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, eggs, and home cooked goods are available in several nearby locations, along with farm to table restaurants. Seasonal festivals in nearby towns are very active!

Fully restored three-level working farm home with three porches, a full kitchen, and large living areas to accommodate eight people, with air conditioning for all three bedrooms and floor fans in all rooms. Our living and dining areas include baby high chair as well as books and toys for children and a wide range of books and games for adults. Bedding includes two Queen beds and one Full bed, as well as two extra large twin bed cots with metal bed frames and memory foam mattresses as well as additional deluxe inflatable twin beds if needed (all with pillows, blankets, and linens). A picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire box with Adirondack chairs is located by the creek. Enjoy breakfast or a drink on a wooden bridge over the stream at the opening of the woods. The back porch faces the woods and is open-air.

The front porch on ground level overlooks a stream complete with chairs and side tables for dining. The glassed porch on the second level overlooks the mountain and has a table and chairs for a meal with a sitting area and coffee station. The kitchen has a full suite of appliances, including a crock pot and bread maker with cooking supplies (yeast, flower, etc.), and crock pot. Coffee bars on each floor of the house are stocked with coffee, tea, and creamers and supplies. Well water from the tap is purified though a dual water treatment and high density filtration system and tested.

The home is gorgeous, clean, modern, spacious, and beautifully decorated. Tom was extremely attentive and made sure that we had everything we could want. There were plenty of supplies, including cooking ware, dishes, utensils, towels, linens, and beds for all of us along with hot chocolate, coffee, and tea on each floor. The property manager Jamie was a pleasure to communicate with and the home was one of if not the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. The property is large, great for a whole family or group of people. The driveway is very steep so the walk to and from the pond is a bit of a workout some may prefer to drive it. We loved the hot tub, it was very clean and seemed brand new. Highly recommend this property."

The living room includes plenty of comfy seating to sit and relax on while you enjoy a movie! The dining room features a large dining table to seat friends and family for a nice dinner.

Upstairs you’ll find another bedroom (two twin beds), a full bathroom, and a loft overlooking the main level that is furnished with a desk and reading nook!

The basement includes a movie room with a sleeper sofa, pool table, and dart board.

- "We had a fabulous time at this property. Everything was as described and in great condition. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to this area." - "Everything about our stay surpassed expectations. This area of Virginia has stunning natural beauty and serenity and we also encountered pretty nice weather even in the middle of July. We didn't want to be anywhere else. We picked peaches twice at Hartland orchard which is less than 10 minutes away. We also took day trips to Washington DC, Shenandoah National Park and historic battlefields. We left many things undone that would have been fun to do. The deck felt like a treehouse being at mid canopy with the large trees in the backyard which cast nice shade while also allowing for a view. The trees also provided shelter to birds who provided the pleasant music of nature. At dusk, the fireflies light up the backyard. Along with the meat on the grill, it was a true symphony for the senses! The house itself is a VRBO dream and that seems to reflect the genuine care of the owners in ensuring our stay was as ideal as possible. Very clean home plus it has the little things like labels on the light switches, quality kitchen utensils simple and uncluttered decor. The basement pool table and dart board was a lot of fun. The only complaint was a washing machine that had some odd and loud sounds, but it did the job. Well, all that to say, we had a great time! This will place will be on the short list to stay at again if we come back to this area."

Newly renovated, very clean, modern cabin on the Blue Ridge Mountains with a brand new 5 person Hottub. Enjoin the serene beauty of nature around you and carefully designed interior for your most comfortability. Outside and inside fire place will give you that rustic, warm feeling on star filled magical nights. The cabin is a 10min walk (or 3min) drive away from Blue Mountain Lodge, a venue with the most spectacular views of the Shenandoah valley, which can be rented for private events (wedding, birthday, etc search for bmpoa & lodge). Close by are also several hikes (Trillium Trail, Appalachian Trail) some of the finest wineries in Virginia, including Fox Meadow with its incredible views of the other side of the mountain. The Skyline Drive/ Shenandoah National Park is a 20min drive away. If you don’t feel like cooking in the brand new kitchen, then restaurants and grocery stores can be found in Front Royal (20 min away) and Linden (Apple House, Giving Tree; about 10min drive away). Wifi is more than 600 mbps strong (Netflix is included). Note while the cabin is very private, it is in a residential neighborhood but other houses are more than 120 feet away.

“Deer Crossing Cabin” is a beautiful and cozy 2-level cabin with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living room, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. The dining room and kitchen have direct access to the backyard with the picnic table, grilling area, fire pit, and a 7 people hot tub. The living room has access to the deck where you can relax on the swinging bench or sip your coffee by the high bar. Both the deck and backyard overlook the mountains and are a relaxing place to hang out with friends and family.

There are plenty of things to enjoy within minutes of the home, such as the Appalachian Trail, Skyline Drive, Skyline Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, and Historic Front Royal. There are 7+ wineries and breweries within 20 drive from the cabin. Fox Meadow Winery is just a 6-minute drive and is open 7 days a week.

THE SPACE

You’ll have access to our peaceful grounds - 7 acres of quiet woodland - with nature at your front step.

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, a modern kitchen, dining room, and large living room with stone fireplace.

Outside, you can take advantage of the front patio for al fresco dining, use the grill, or swing in the hammocks.

The Appalachian Trail crosses our road just 1 mile north, stellar Linden Vineyards is immediately adjacent, and scenic Shenandoah Valley is 15 minutes away.

Dogs are allowed, up to two total per stay. We have cats on the property, so please monitor your dogs while outside.

We welcome children of all ages. The cabin does not have toddler safety measures such as locks on low cabinets or outlet covers, but there is a portable crib provided.

GUEST ACCESS

You’ll have access to our entire house except a locked garage. There is a barn on the property which is also locked. Otherwise, you'll have access to the rest of the property adjacent to the cabin. We live on the property, too, but are just over a ridge. Please make yourself at home!

SOME VERY IMPORTANT NOTES

DRIVEWAY: Our driveway is steep and graveled, and can be difficult for small passenger cars to get up especially during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. We recommend using a 4WD vehicle if possible. We are not responsible for you getting up the driveway, and will not provide refunds if you can’t make it up for any reason, including weather. The country is a wonderful place to relax, but it comes with some challenges, too.

INTERNET: Our internet connection is slow. We estimate average speeds to be around 5 Mbps. Email and texting work fine, and Zoom works okay. Sending large files or streaming video may be difficult.

TV: We do not have a television in the cabin.

GUEST COUNT: No parties, and no additional guests beyond the (up to) 4 guests booked. Guests beyond the confirmed amount will be reported to VRBO (per our local restrictions).

SECURITY: One outdoor security camera shows who is coming and going, but for your privacy, only the driveway and front door are visible – we can send you a picture from the camera if you'd like.

NOISE: Our tiny valley is very sleepy and quiet. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the calm of the country. We’ll also be your neighbors during your stay. Cedarbank is not a place for parties. Also, because sound travels easily, please no loud conversations after dark and no music outside at any time.

CRITTERS: You’ll be surrounded by nature, and with that comes a few friendly (and sometimes furry) visitors! You may spot curious deer, mice, buzzing bees and flies (especially during harvest), or even the occasional bear passing through—it’s all part of the charm of staying in the wild.

`Wilderness Ridge` is the perfect private refuge to soak in the stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley while spending time with friends and family. The cabin features a full kitchen, theater room, and propane fireplace. The home’s location lets you tour local vineyards less than five miles away, or visit the famous Apple House for apple cider donuts. As night falls, return home for a BBQ on the deck while the sun sets over the valley and mountains below!

As you step into the cabin, you’ll be greeted by a warm and inviting open-concept living room and kitchen, the perfect space for cozy autumn (or any season) gatherings. Two stories of windows frame breathtaking views of the Shenandoah Valley, where vibrant autumn foliage stretches across the landscape, and on clear days, you can see up to 50 miles of the valley and distant mountains. Whether you’re enjoying a meal together or unwinding by the propane fireplace, the beauty of nature is always within view. The main floor also features a 55” TV, island seating, and a dining table, making it ideal for family movie nights or meals with a view.

The first floor offers two comfortable bedrooms: one with a queen bed and another with twin bunk beds—perfect for younger family members or the young at heart. A full bathroom completes this level, ensuring everyone feels at home.

Upstairs in the loft, you’ll find a cozy king bed and a dedicated workspace with a desk, all bathed in the golden glow of autumn sunrises. Although the loft is open to the first floor, we believe the stunning valley views at dawn more than make up for the lack of a door. Another full bathroom on this floor turns the space into a primary suite.

Head down to the basement, where the cooler autumn evenings are perfect for a movie marathon in the large theater room or a round of games with family and friends. This level also includes an additional bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room for extra comfort during your stay.

Finally, your stay won’t be complete without relaxing under the stars or catching up with friends around a propane fire table on the cabin’s elevated deck.

Located just a short drive from the cabin, Front Royal is the gateway to a range of fall adventures and activities. Savor the crisp, refreshing air with a scenic drive along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, where the vibrant hues of fall foliage create a mesmerizing backdrop. If you’re in the mood for something active, head to the Appalachian Trail for a refreshing hike with stunning valley views.

For a more relaxed outing, visit Crimson Lane Vineyards or Fox Meadow Winery to enjoy a tasting of local Virginia wines while soaking in panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside. If you’re traveling with children, a stop at Skyline Caverns for a subterranean tour is a must.

PETS
We love hosting your furry companions and welcome up to two dogs. Please include them in your reservation and a pet fee will automatically be included in your reservation total. Additional dogs may be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to additional fees to compensate for potential extra wear and tear at the property and additional cleaning regimens that we undertake. Note that emotional support animals (ESAs) are designated as pets and subject to these fees and other pet policies. Service animals are always welcome, but please let us know about them in advance so we can let our cleaning team know. Although we love cats, we unfortunately are unable to host them at this property.

FAMILY FRIENDLY AMENITIES

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
The property is served by entirely paved roads and a paved driveway. Most of the year, 2WD vehicles can access the property without issue. However, during snow or icy conditions, 4WD or AWD may be recommended or required. We will notify you in advance if winter or severe weather is expected, offering guidance on safe access. Full refunds are typically only provided if the property is inaccessible for more than 24 hours by 4WD or AWD vehicles. In the event this occurs, we will also offer the option to stay at a nearby property if possible.

GUEST SAFETY & WELLNESS
Your safety and well-being are our top priority. All bedding, including sheets, quilts, and blankets, is washed between reservations. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in all bedrooms, and fire extinguishers are available throughout the property.

WILDLIFE
The area is surrounded by wildlife - you will regularly see deer and may even sneak a peak at a black bear hanging out on the mountain. While the property rarely houses critters of its own, the occasional bug or tiny creature may make a visit! Just let us know if anything is out of the ordinary.

AN EXTRA NOTE ON THE DRIVEWAY & VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
The properties spectacular views are available due to its relatively high elevation. The last quarter mile of roadways leading to the property are well maintained gravel community roads, but outside of severe winter weather, can be used year-round by most vehicles (although we do not usually recommend those with motorcycles book the property). The driveway is paved; however it is very steep and has several curves - nearly all vehicles should be able to access without issue; however, given the steepness, during winter weather, there may be short periods where using it is difficult and reservations booked from December - February should have 4WD/AWD vehicles available. We always work with our guests to get the driveway plowed and treated as soon as possible (usually within hours) or provide alternative accommodations at some of our nearby properties with less daunting drives.

Entrance to the Appalachian Trail is right outside the door. ( Weekends are busy) Vineyards are open! The season is now Autumn and perfect for hiking! Unique dining in nearby Orlean, Hume and Flint Hill. Mountainous horse and wine country to get away, outside and unwind for a while.

Take a step back in time in our 1898 one-room schoolhouse; converted in the mid 1900's as a private residence, and fully renovated in 2023. We preserved the spirit and character of the school, keeping the original bead-board walls, vaulting the ceiling back to the previous pitch, returning the position of the doors and windows to their original position and style, all while providing guests with brand new appliances, HVAC, furniture and other amenities that make this a spectacular getaway!

The space

Cherry Hill has 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, comfortable living & dining spaces and a modern kitchen. While the house is historic, the renovation was carried out meticulously to make guests feel comfortable and relaxed. This is the perfect jumping off point to visit wineries, simply unwind on the back porch with a view of our spacious property and forest behind, or go for high adventure on the Appalachian Trail and Shenandoah River.

The original footprint of the building was a single room schoolhouse, but since renovation, we have reconfigured the building to have private sleeping spaces and a bathroom.

Other things to note
Located at the top of a mountain in Linden, VA, up the road from the Appalachian trail, one of the best wineries in the state and famous restaurant "The Apple House", and only 10-15 min to Shenandoah National Park, Shenandoah River activities, Front Royal, caverns and more, you can find tranquility, rest, relaxation - plus activities galore - while enjoying the rare opportunity to sleep in a one-room schoolhouse! There are even some pigs, chickens and cows that live right down the road that you can greet during your relaxing stay.

Please note that this property is rural; to access the schoolhouse, you will need to travel 1-4 miles (depending which direction you approach from) on dirt and gravel road. You will not have a problem accessing the property in any type of car in good weather (sans big snow storm), but we want guests to be fully aware of the rural nature of the property. This will add to the getaway charm with ample privacy and quiet -- and you can be wow'd by the many kiddos who had to walk those miles in all weather to get to school back in the 1800's! The property is well maintained, however, this is the countryside and there are insects and other critters. Use caution and discretion.

Children MUST be accompanied at all times and are not allowed on the pool deck or in the pool without an adult within arms reach.

The Master bedroom has closet, a lighted vanity mirror nook (behind door), and a what our friends have described as a more than comfortable memory foam king-sized bed. The 2nd loft bedroom features an antique writing desk and king sized bed, which can be pulled apart into twin beds for kids or 2 adults. A sofa bed is available in living room. The bathroom with cabin-themed shower is ready for you with a ceiling heat fan for cold winter days and full size washer and dryer.

The wood burning stove is available for use, with close attention paid fires, fire risks and adherence to the rules and instructions provided and fire laws.

Welcome to Blue Ridge Mountain Retreat situated on 1.56 acres overlooking the valley! This space was remodeled in 2023 and is equipped with high-speed internet, a small kitchenette, a walk out patio, a beautiful master bedroom and basic amenities for your stay. We are also close to various wineries (Fox Meadows-3 miles), and National Parks (Shenandoah National Park Front Royal Entrance-13 miles).

The space
This retreat is a wonderful lower level suite with a private entrance with your own patio overlooking the valley.

You have access to the entire basement suite that has been fully renovated with a comfortable bedroom, full bath, a small kitchenette, a large living room with a trundle (2 single beds), and a dining room.

Guests have access to the entire basement except for a few areas that are marked and closed off.

You are welcome to park up to 2 cars at our property over the course of your stay in the designated guest spots. You will find the guest spots marked.

Other things to note
We recommend 4WD during the winter months to access our property on the mountain.

The HVAC is controlled from our home upstairs. The temp is set at 68° in the summer and 70° in the winter. There are extra space heaters available in the bedroom closet.

We do have quarterly pest control services and do our best to control any bugs. However, please do not be alarmed if you see a few harmless bugs since we do live near the woods/mountain.

The home upstairs is occupied by us and our two goldendoodles (Tooki & Dobby). Although the noise will be minimal, you may hear some walking, pet footsteps or water running.

Please be cautious and aware of your surroundings as the presence of wildlife (foxes, deer, turkey, black bear, etc) is common in the area.

Close by are also several hikes (Trillium Trail, Appalachian Trail) some of the finest wineries in Virginia, including Fox Meadow with its incredible views of the other side of the mountain.

The Skyline Drive/ Shenandoah National Park is a 20min drive away.

If you don’t feel like cooking in the brand new kitchen, then restaurants and grocery stores can be found in Front Royal (20 min away) and Linden (Apple House, Giving Tree; about 10min drive away).

Wifi is more than 600 mbps strong (Netflix is included).

Note while the cabin is very private, it is in a residential neighborhood but other houses are more than 120 feet away.

Basement is under construction and just to be used to access washer and dryer.

Perfect jumping off point for wine tasting, visiting Shenandoah National park or other state parks and the Appalachian Trail -- step back in time in this 1898 one-room schoolhouse, fully renovated with modern amenities. We preserved the character of the school, with original bead-board walls, vaulted ceiling, and reinstating the original position of windows and doors, all while providing guests with new appliances, HVAC & furniture!

Cherry Hill has 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom (shower, no tub), comfortable living & dining spaces and a modern kitchen. While the house is historic, the renovation was carried out meticulously to make guests feel comfortable and relaxed. This is the perfect jumping off point to visit wineries, simply unwind on the back porch with a view of our spacious property and forest behind, or go for high adventure on the Appalachian Trail and Shenandoah River.

The original footprint of the building was a single room schoolhouse, but since renovation, we have reconfigured the building to have private sleeping spaces and a bathroom.

Located at the top of a mountain in Linden, VA, up the road from the Appalachian trail, one of the best wineries in the state and famous restaurant "The Apple House", and only 10-15 min to Shenandoah National Park, Shenandoah River activities, Front Royal, caverns and more, you can find tranquility, rest, relaxation - plus activities galore - while enjoying the rare opportunity to sleep in a one-room schoolhouse! There are even some pigs, chickens and cows that live right down the road that you can greet during your relaxing stay.

**Please note that this property is rural; to access the schoolhouse, you will need to travel 1-4 miles (depending which direction you approach from) on dirt and gravel road. You will not have a problem accessing the property in any type of car in good weather (sans big snow storm), but we want guests to be fully aware of the rural nature of the property. This will add to the getaway charm with ample privacy and quiet -- and you can be wow'd by the many kiddos who had to walk those miles in all weather to get to school back in the 1800's! The property is well maintained, however, this is the countryside and there are insects and other critters. Use caution and discretion. Children MUST be accompanied at all times and are not allowed on the pool deck or in the pool without an adult within arms reach and children are not advised to use the hot tub for safety reasons.

Today, it has been thoughtfully updated into a welcoming getaway, perfect for couples, families, and small groups looking to relax in the scenic Blue Mountains.

Step inside to an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area, designed for gathering and relaxation. The living room features a fireplace with an electric insert, creating a warm and inviting space to unwind. The final stretch of roads leading to the property is unpaved but well maintained. Most of the year, 2WD vehicles can access the property without issue. However, during snow or icy conditions, 4WD or AWD may be recommended or required. We will do our best to notify you in advance if winter or severe weather is expected, offering guidance on safe access. Full refunds are typically only provided if the property is inaccessible for more than 24 hours by 4WD or AWD vehicles.

Your safety and well-being are our top priority. All bedding, including sheets, quilts, and blankets, is washed between reservations. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in all bedrooms, and fire extinguishers are available throughout the property.

The area is surrounded by wildlife - you will regularly see deer and may even sneak a peak at a black bear hanging out on the mountain. While the property rarely houses critters of its own, the occasional bug or tiny creature may make a visit! Just let us know if anything is out of the ordinary.

“Deer Crossing Cabin” is a beautiful and cozy 2-level cabin with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. The dining room and kitchen have direct access to the backyard with the picnic table, grilling area, fire pit, and a 7 people hot tub. The living room has access to the deck where you can relax on the swinging bench or sip your coffee by the high bar. Both the deck and backyard overlook the mountains and is a relaxing place to hang out with friends and family.

There are plenty of things to enjoy within minutes of the home, such as the Appalachian Trail, Skyline Drive, Skyline Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, and Historic Front Royal. There are 7+ wineries and breweries within 20 drive from the cabin. Fox Meadow Winery is just 6 minutes drive and is open 7 days a week.

Easy access: the property has an easy access. From main highway take 1.5 miles of 2-way paved winding road and 0.2 straight gravel road.

The property is located in the mountains. During the winter if there is inclement weather, AWD or 4x4 is recommended. Most of our guests arrive in 2-wheel drive cars from the city with no problem. So far none of our guests had any problems accessing the property during winter months.

Pack up your family and furry friends for a Mountain escape! This 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom cottage has many ways to gather and relax. We love hosting your furry companions and welcome up to two dogs. Please include them in your reservation and a pet fee will automatically be included in your reservation total. Note that emotional support animals (ESAs) are designated as pets and subject to these fees and other pet policies. Service animals are always welcome, but please let us know about them in advance so we can let our cleaning team know.

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
The property is served by entirely paved roads and a paved driveway. Most of the year, 2WD vehicles can access the property without issue. However, during snow or icy conditions, 4WD or AWD may be recommended or required. We will notify you in advance if winter or severe weather is expected, offering guidance on safe access. Full refunds are typically only provided if the property is inaccessible for more than 24 hours by 4WD or AWD vehicles.

GUEST SAFETY & WELLNESS
Your safety and well-being are our top priority. All bedding, including sheets, quilts, and blankets, is washed between reservations. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in all bedrooms, and fire extinguishers are available throughout the property.

The area is surrounded by wildlife - you will regularly see deer and may even sneak a peak at a black bear hanging out on the mountain. While the property rarely houses critters of its own, the occasional bug or tiny creature may make a visit! Just let us know if anything is out of the ordinary.

We occasionally make updates to the property in an effort to add new amenities and ensure that we always offer safe and comfortable accommodations. As a result, furniture may occasionally differ from what is featured. Welcome to our spacious mountain cabin, nestled atop 5 acres just outside of Shenandoah. With its blend of natural beauty and convenient proximity to a variety of attractions, our cabin is a great choice for creating unforgettable memories with your friends and family. We love waking to a symphony of birds attracted to the flowering shrubs & flowers and nodding off to the soothing lullaby of forest insects. Fireflies provide a beautiful display in the summer. The space
Guests have use of the two main levels of the home. The top floor includes a primary bedroom (king bed) with an en suite bath, as well as a workspace and covered patio on the mezzanine. The main floor has an open living and dining space opening to the wraparound deck. There are two bedrooms (one queen, two combinable twinXL) and one and a half bathrooms on the level.

Guests have exclusive use of the home’s living area and outdoor spaces. Guests do not have access to the basement level, or a few storage closets.

Other things to note
I offer fire wood bundles and (my preferred) low smoke pellets at cost ($10/15, respectively) so guests do not need to decide in advance whether to purchase some. There is also free fallen and cut branches around the property. This home is in the woods, so please think about your comfort with potential wildlife and bugs before booking the home if proximity to those things will ruin your experience.

The space
You’ll have access to our peaceful grounds - 7 acres of quiet woodland - with nature at your front step.

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, a modern kitchen, dining room, and large living room with stone fireplace.

Outside, you can take advantage of the front patio for al fresco dining, use the grill, or swing in the hammocks.

The Appalachian Trail crosses our road just 1 mile north, stellar Linden Vineyards is immediately adjacent, and scenic Shenandoah Valley is 15 minutes away.

Dogs are allowed, up to two total per stay. We have cats on the property, so please monitor your dogs while outside.

We welcome children of all ages. The cabin does not have toddler safety measures such as locks on low cabinets or outlet covers, but there is a portable crib provided.

You’ll have access to our entire house except a locked garage. There is a barn on the property which is also locked. Otherwise, you'll have access to the rest of the property adjacent to the cabin. We live on the property, too, but are just over a ridge. Please make yourself at home!

Other things to note
DRIVEWAY: Our driveway is steep and graveled, and can be difficult for small passenger cars to get up especially during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. We recommend using a 4WD vehicle if possible. We are not responsible for you getting up the driveway, and will not provide refunds if you can’t make it up for any reason, including weather. The country is a wonderful place to relax, but it comes with some challenges, too.

INTERNET: Our internet connection is slow. We estimate average speeds to be around 5 Mbps. Email and texting work fine, and Zoom works okay. Sending large files or streaming video may be difficult.

TV: We do not have a television in the cabin.

GUEST COUNT: No parties, and no additional guests beyond the (up to) 4 guests booked through Airbnb. Guests beyond the confirmed amount will be reported to Airbnb (per our local restrictions).

SECURITY: One outdoor security camera shows who is coming and going, but for your privacy, only the driveway and front door are visible – we can send you a picture from the camera if you'd like.

NOISE: Our tiny valley is very sleepy and quiet. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the calm of the country. We’ll also be your neighbors during your stay. Cedarbank is not a place for parties. Also, because sound travels easily, please no loud conversations after dark and no music outside at any time.

CRITTERS: You’ll be surrounded by nature, and with that comes a few friendly (and sometimes furry) visitors! You may spot curious deer, mice, buzzing bees and flies (especially during harvest), or even the occasional bear passing through—it’s all part of the charm of staying in the wild.

There are 3 spacious bedrooms each with a queen sized bed, closet, and night stand(s). There are 2 full bathrooms, 1 in the master bedroom and the other in the hallway. There, you will also find a full sized washer and dryer stocked with detergent and fabric softener.

The backyard is the main jewel of the house. Enjoy the private backyard with an outdoor firepit. Put your apron on and throw down some delicious BBQ on a coal grill. Please note: We will supply fire-starters and lighters, but guests will need to bring fire wood and coal for the grill.

Electric vehicle charging outlet (240v) available for any electric car. It is located underneath the garage carport, guests will need to bring their specific charging cable.

Offering modern comfort and beautiful views, this house is ideal for families, groups of friends, or anyone seeking a tranquil getaway. Home features hand-hewn repurposed barn beams, local Virginia soapstone kitchen countertops, and a Wolf range.

The space
Spacious one story stucco home features hand-hewn reclaimed barn beams and has pastoral views minutes from Sky Meadows State Park features large rooms with plenty of space to relax. Three beautiful fireplaces feature beautiful stone and reclaimed wood.

The home is perfect for large gatherings, with two bedrooms featuring king size beds and en suite bathrooms at opposite ends of the home. Two additional bedrooms at the end of the hallway are perfect for a family, as bedroom 4 is accessed through bedroom 3. These rooms have each have a queen size bed and a full bath adjacent in the hallway. There is an additional half bath the small living room.

The home was completely renovated in 2024 with locally milled white oak hardwood floors. All bathrooms and the kitchen were fully renovated in 2024. The kitchen features locally quarried Virginia Alberene soapstone as well as a six burner Wolf range and Bosch dishwasher.

The home is secluded in the country and surrounded by woods and fields. The adjacent fields often have cows and deer are frequently in the yard. The home features 5 private acres. Native plants have been added to the landscape and creating more native plant meadow areas is a priority to sustain the wildlife.

Because of the location and despite meticulous cleaning and care, you can expect to encounter insects, bees, bugs and other critters outside and sometimes even inside the home. We do our best to keep them outside. The home has a few quirks given its age, some of the windows are sticky and a few do not open. The fireplaces may not be used at this time but there is an outdoor solo stove for roasting marshmallows.

The home is less than 20 minutes from many vineyards, orchards and farms, restaurants, the towns of Paris (5 minutes), Upperville (10 minutes), Marshall (15 minutes) and Middleburg (20 minutes) and is within walking distance of Sky Meadows State Park, which has hiking trails, a picnic area and trails that connect to the Appalachian Trail.

The driveway from the road to the house is one lane and steep in places, but fully paved. Guests are responsible for the safety of themselves, children and pets. The lawn is not fenced and opens directly onto the wooded area of the property, including a slope at the back of the house.

Looking for mountainside quiet where you can't hear a single highway but still with speedy wifi and grocery delivery. Vintage speakers but they hook up to your smartphone. Room for everyone to eat together but two living rooms for two movies at a time. Impeccable and professionally designed interiors but with actually comfy couches. Outdoor space to run around as free as the neighbor's chickens but fenced in decks and yards to contain furry friends and/or toddlers. And then there's the h's: hot tub, hammock, history, hiking, hwineries (30 Vineyards within 30 Miles)

Our area is surrounded by wildlife - you will regularly see deer and may even sneak a peak at a black bear hanging out on the mountain. While the house rarely houses critters of its own, the occasional bug or tiny creature may make a visit!

"Wilderness Ridge" is the perfect private refuge to soak in the stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley while spending time with friends and family. The cabin features a full kitchen, theater room, and propane fireplace. The home’s location lets you tour local vineyards less than five miles away, or visit the famous Apple House for apple cider donuts. As night falls, return home for a BBQ on the deck while the sun sets over the valley and mountains below!

The space
As you step into the cabin, you’ll be greeted by a warm and inviting open-concept living room and kitchen, the perfect space for cozy autumn (or any season) gatherings. Two stories of windows frame breathtaking views of the Shenandoah Valley, where vibrant autumn foliage stretches across the landscape, and on clear days, you can see up to 50 miles of the valley and distant mountains. Whether you’re enjoying a meal together or unwinding by the propane fireplace, the beauty of nature is always within view. The main floor also features a 55” TV, island seating, and a dining table, making it ideal for family movie nights or meals with a view.

The first floor offers two comfortable bedrooms: one with a queen bed and another with twin bunk beds—perfect for younger family members or the young at heart. A full bathroom completes this level, ensuring everyone feels at home.

Upstairs in the loft, you’ll find a cozy king bed and a dedicated workspace with a desk, all bathed in the golden glow of autumn sunrises. Although the loft is open to the first floor, we believe the stunning valley views at dawn more than make up for the lack of a door. Another full bathroom on this floor turns the space into a primary suite.

Head down to the basement, where the cooler autumn evenings are perfect for a movie marathon in the large theater room or a round of games with family and friends. This level also includes an additional bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room for extra comfort during your stay.

Finally, your stay won’t be complete without relaxing under the stars or catching up with friends around a propane fire table on the cabin’s elevated deck.

Located just a short drive from the cabin, Front Royal is the gateway to a range of fall adventures and activities. Savor the crisp, refreshing air with a scenic drive along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, where the vibrant hues of fall foliage create a mesmerizing backdrop. If you’re in the mood for something active, head to the Appalachian Trail for a refreshing hike with stunning valley views.

For a more relaxed outing, visit Crimson Lane Vineyards or Fox Meadow Winery to enjoy a tasting of local Virginia wines while soaking in panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside. If you’re traveling with children, a stop at Skyline Caverns for a subterranean tour is a must.

PETS
We love hosting your furry companions and welcome up to two dogs. Please include them in your reservation and a pet fee will automatically be included in your reservation total. Additional dogs may be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to additional fees to compensate for potential extra wear and tear at the property and additional cleaning regimens that we undertake. Note that emotional support animals (ESAs) are designated as pets and subject to these fees and other pet policies. Service animals are always welcome, but please let us know about them in advance so we can let our cleaning team know. Although we love cats, we unfortunately are unable to host them at this property.

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
The property is served by entirely paved roads and a paved driveway. Most of the year, 2WD vehicles can access the property without issue. However, during snow or icy conditions, 4WD or AWD may be recommended or required. We will notify you in advance if winter or severe weather is expected, offering guidance on safe access. Full refunds are typically only provided if the property is inaccessible for more than 24 hours by 4WD or AWD vehicles. In the event this occurs, we will also offer the option to stay at a nearby property if possible.

GUEST SAFETY & WELLNESS
Your safety and well-being are our top priority. All bedding, including sheets, quilts, and blankets, is washed between reservations. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in all bedrooms, and fire extinguishers are available throughout the property.

AN EXTRA NOTE ON THE DRIVEWAY & VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
The properties spectacular views are available due to its relatively high elevation. The last quarter mile of roadways leading to the property are well maintained gravel community roads, but outside of severe winter weather, can be used year-round by most vehicles (although we do not usually recommend those with motorcycles book the property). The driveway is paved; however it is very steep and has several curves - nearly all vehicles should be able to access without issue; however, given the steepness, during winter weather, there may be short periods where using it is difficult and reservations booked from December - February should have 4WD/AWD vehicles available. We always work with our guests to get the driveway plowed and treated as soon as possible (usually within hours) or provide alternative accommodations at some of our nearby properties with less daunting drives.
