Took about 20 mins to get to skyline caverns and 45 mins to get to Luray caverns. Front Royal town is about a 15 min drive to get supply's. Beautiful, authentic, historic Farmhouse and Country Home (circa 1916) on 45 forested acres at the foot of a tall mountain with a pristine stream that runs in front of the home. Located in Manassas Gap, gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley, directly across the valley from historic African Mountain and the Southern Appalachian range. Located in a biodiversity hotspot near many historic landmarks, parks, trails, rivers, farms, country kitchens, and festival locations.

A wide range of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, eggs, and home cooked goods are available in several nearby locations, along with farm to table restaurants. Seasonal festivals in nearby towns are very active!

Fully restored three-level working farm home with three porches, a full kitchen, and large living areas to accommodate eight people, with air conditioning for all three bedrooms and floor fans in all rooms. Our living and dining areas include baby high chair as well as books and toys for children and a wide range of books and games for adults. Bedding includes two Queen beds and one Full bed, as well as two extra large twin bed cots with metal bed frames and memory foam mattresses as well as additional deluxe inflatable twin beds if needed (all with pillows, blankets, and linens). A picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire box with Adirondack chairs is located by the creek. Enjoy breakfast or a drink on a wooden bridge over the stream at the opening of the woods. The back porch faces the woods and is open-air.

The front porch on ground level overlooks a stream complete with chairs and side tables for dining. The glassed porch on the second level overlooks the mountain and has a table and chairs for a meal with a sitting area and coffee station. The kitchen has a full suite of appliances, including a crock pot and bread maker with cooking supplies (yeast, flower, etc.), and crock pot. Coffee bars on each floor of the house are stocked with coffee, tea, and creamers and supplies. Well water from the tap is purified though a dual water treatment and high density filtration system and tested.

The home is gorgeous, clean, modern, spacious, and beautifully decorated. Tom was extremely attentive and made sure that we had everything we could want. There were plenty of supplies, including cooking ware, dishes, utensils, towels, linens, and beds for all of us along with hot chocolate, coffee, and tea on each floor. The property manager Jamie was a pleasure to communicate with and the home was one of if not the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. The property is large, great for a whole family or group of people. The driveway is very steep so the walk to and from the pond is a bit of a workout some may prefer to drive it. We loved the hot tub, it was very clean and seemed brand new. Inside the kitchen you'll find silverware, dishware, pots, pans, single serve pod & pot coffee maker, tea kettle, coffee & tea, dishwasher & dish soap, cooking utensils, and other necessities that you’re used to at home. The living room includes plenty of comfy seating to sit and relax on while you enjoy a movie! The dining room features a large dining table to seat friends and family for a nice dinner.

Upstairs you’ll find another bedroom (two twin beds), a full bathroom, and a loft overlooking the main level that is furnished with a desk and reading nook!

The basement includes a movie room with a sleeper sofa, pool table, and dart board.

Outside you’ll enjoy the wrap-around deck that includes a grill, dining set, and a serene view of the Shenandoah mountains.

- "We had a fabulous time at this property. Everything was as described and in great condition. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to this area." - "Everything about our stay surpassed expectations. This area of Virginia has stunning natural beauty and serenity and we also encountered pretty nice weather even in the middle of July. We didn't want to be anywhere else. We picked peaches twice at Hartland orchard which is less than 10 minutes away. We also took day trips to Washington DC, Shenandoah National Park and historic battlefields. We left many things undone that would have been fun to do. The deck felt like a treehouse being at mid canopy with the large trees in the backyard which cast nice shade while also allowing for a view. The trees also provided shelter to birds who provided the pleasant music of nature. At dusk, the fireflies light up the backyard. Along with the meat on the grill, it was a true symphony for the senses! The house itself is a VRBO dream and that seems to reflect the genuine care of the owners in ensuring our stay was as ideal as possible. Very clean home plus it has the little things like labels on the light switches, quality kitchen utensils simple and uncluttered decor. The basement pool table and dart board was a lot of fun. The only complaint was a washing machine that had some odd and loud sounds, but it did the job. Well, all that to say, we had a great time! This will place will be on the short list to stay at again if we come back to this area."

We saw wild turkeys, bunnies, hummingbirds, a big woodpecker, and some deer. The binoculars on the back porch were a bonus find for a very beautiful scenery. Though compact, the kitchen is beautifully equipped for home-cooked meals or simple wine and charcuterie nights in.

The space
Newly renovated, very clean, modern cabin on the Blue Ridge Mountains with a brand new 5 person Hottub. Enjoin the serene beauty of nature around you and carefully designed interior for your most comfortability. Outside and inside fire place will give you that rustic, warm feeling on star filled magical nights. The cabin is a 10min walk (or 3min) drive away from Blue Mountain Lodge, a venue with the most spectacular views of the Shenandoah valley, which can be rented for private events (wedding, birthday, etc search for bmpoa & lodge). Close by are also several hikes (Trillium Trail, Appalachian Trail) some of the finest wineries in Virginia, including Fox Meadow with its incredible views of the other side of the mountain. The Skyline Drive/ Shenandoah National Park is a 20min drive away. If you don’t feel like cooking in the brand new kitchen, then restaurants and grocery stores can be found in Front Royal (20 min away) and Linden (Apple House, Giving Tree; about 10min drive away). Wifi is more than 600 mbps strong (Netflix is included). Note while the cabin is very private, it is in a residential neighborhood but other houses are more than 120 feet away.

“Deer Crossing Cabin” is a beautiful and cozy 2-level cabin with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living room, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. The dining room and kitchen have direct access to the backyard with the picnic table, grilling area, fire pit, and a 7 people hot tub. The living room has access to the deck where you can relax on the swinging bench or sip your coffee by the high bar. Both the deck and backyard overlook the mountains and are a relaxing place to hang out with friends and family.

There are plenty of things to enjoy within minutes of the home, such as the Appalachian Trail, Skyline Drive, Skyline Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, and Historic Front Royal. There are 7+ wineries and breweries within 20 drive from the cabin. Fox Meadow Winery is just a 6-minute drive and is open 7 days a week.

The chimney has no flue. Glass doors to the screen must be left open during a burn. If one requests a late checkout after 11:00 a.m $20.00 per hour , will be charged. This if only available upon request and approval.
