- "This is a fantastic, clean, affordable and cozy place to stay. At night the wildlife wakes up and sings you to sleep with really cool croaks, tweets and whistles. It’s off the beaten path just enough to get some quiet, but still close to the main highway to reach the national park easily. Owner is very communicative and friendly. We spent a lot of time out in the screened-in lanai and in the evenings I sat out there with the lights off and eyes closed to enjoy the sound bath of nature. Super meditative! We spent a few days exploring the volcanoes (less than half an hour away) and Black Sand Beach (about an hour). We ate out both nights at Coconut Grill (our kids loved the fare). The house itself is cute, well equipped with fans and appliances. It was great to be able to wash our clothes in the washer/dryer. Beds were comfy. We stayed in our last night and cooked so we could enjoy the house and lanai. We were surprised that we weren't too bothered by mosquitos even though a few slipped in. We tried to seal a tiny hole in the screen in the lanai with the only "tape" we could find (a bandaid). Appliances (stove/oven, microwave, washer/dryer), showers, etc are great, but you may need to bring your own spices, foil, maybe an aluminum pan for baking if you plan to cook a lot, and a lighter for the mosquito coil. (Owner should consider adding a silicone spatula for use with the non-stick cookware). We made breakfast every morning and a fairly elaborate dinner our last night. Grocery stores/restaurants are about 26 minutes away. Once you pull into the property, you will feel like you're on your own secluded tropical island. We loved our stay and hope to return someday."

This peaceful country home is considered a " private residence" with a detached living area. It is located in a rural area away from tourism and off the beaten path. There are two separate structures situated in a way to provide privacy from one another. There is a main 1-bedroom house (this is the rental) and a smaller "cottage". We are located 1/2 way between Volcano National Park and Hilo; being 1296 sf under roof and a totally furnished 1 bedroom, 1 bath house on 2 acres. The relaxation experience is enhanced by a private 1-person whirlpool tub, quiet surroundings, and lots of songbirds. The bedroom has one queen size memory foam bed with and a walk-in closet. The living room has a sofa and a futon that will lay flat. The dining area consists of a 4-seat dining table and a kitchen bar. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a whirlpool tub. There is a front porch for relaxing and listening to the birds. You will find this house very comfortable with all the amenities you need. Everything is included; all appliances; including washer / dryer, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, towels etc. Just bring your suitcase. There are many adventures to explore in East Hawaii such as Akaka Falls, Rainbow Falls, black and green sand beaches, tropical gardens, newly formed (2017 and 2018) lava fields and cones. It is a newer house and although this house is close to various vacation spots, it is off the beaten path located in a country atmosphere. The rate is very affordable, allowing you to stay just a little bit longer in Paradise. I hope that you will come relax and explore our beautiful Island. INTERNET** Internet usage is unlimited data but after using 100GB the speed slows down behind other users. If you need a lot of fast internet you would have to provide your own hotspot.

The property is located between Hilo town (30 min drive) and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (25 min drive), convenient to explore the windward side of the island.

Our duplex home consists of three bedroom main house and one bedroom/guest house. Both units are currently being rented out. The units are separated by laundry room and carport - the shared space with other guests.

The one-bedroom guest house (left side of the duplex) is bright with lots of natural sun light and breezy trade winds. Two private entrances, a wrap-around lanai and a large private front and back porches where you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee or evening cocktail drinks.

The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and a full bed with 100% cotton sheets. A full size pull-out sofa in the living room sleeps additional two guests.
The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator, hot plate, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, air fryer, and other essentials for cooking. The bathrooms are furnished with clean towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer.

Our water comes from the rain water catchment system, very common for this island. It is filtered by UV light system, but it may not be best for drinking. You may want to bring your own bottled water.
The laundry room and carport are common area to be shared with other guests staying in the three bedroom main house.
The gate lock code and other check in instructions will be provided a day before your arrival.

Guests are sure to enjoy a vacation in this unique space 1 bedroom/1 indoor hot shower.
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed comfortable for sleeping 2 people with a small fan , TV and a toilet with sink and a drinking water faucet located all upstairs so you don't need to get up and down.

The downstairs area has dining table , mini refrigerator/freezer its very small (please see pictures for details) ,microwave, and coffee maker. You will enjoy the private indoor hot shower. Its a tiny house,everything what is inside are all necessary for your stay. The cabin has a small stairs to maximize the space.

The small space just made for what you need in your vacation.

Checking late at night is no problem.

- "If all you need is aplace to sleep, this is it. The proerty is located on a dirt road (which you are on for 2 miles) There is a bed, which was comfortable, toilet, sink, and shower, with a small microwave and smaller refridgerator (think showbox size) There is electricity and WiFi as well. There is a small narrow ladder/staircase to reach the bedroom and the toilet is also located there as well, so no fumbling with going up and down at night.. Volcano National Park is located within 20 minutes and Hilo about 40 minutes. Their water system utilizes reclimated rainwater, so water consveration should be kept in mind when staying there. One morning, there was no water and Kevin was very responsive to the issue and fixed it quickly. We would stay there again."

- "We loved the location of this beautiful home. It was cozy and updated. The frogs at night were a welcome change to the construction and noise of Other hotel guests in Kona. Communication was great and it felt like we got a great deal . I would definitely stay here again." - "Check in process was smooth and easy. The property had enough of the basic kitchen utensils to cook meals, the grill worked well. The small heaters provided quickly warmed up the cabin when needed. Bring plenty of fire starter if you plan to use the wood oven/ fireplace. The view from the back porch was as advertised, this felt like a very private getaway. We rarely heard noise from the neighboring properties. It would have been nice to have a few more outside seating options, especially to use the outside fire pit. Overall very happy with our stay and the proximity to the Park."
