- "We had an excellent experience at this short term rental home. We all loved the house, not only because it delivered on what is promised in the listing, but because of the magnificence of the property… to say the home is well-appointed is an understatement; the location is paradise! Secluded, quiet and scenic. I’m a birder, and I identified 8 different types while sitting in the back patio. The house is spacious. Two families stayed on the property, but many more family members joined us for dinner at the house during our stay. The house is huge, and it very comfortably accommodated all of us. We were in town for our annual pilgrimage walk to El Santuario de Chimayó, and the house was only a few minutes from our rendezvous point. Everything was perfect, and we have raved about the house incessantly since we left. Finally, the owners are a dream to work with, and the rules of the house are simple and reasonable. Absolutely no complaints from anyone on the trip. Book with absolute confidence."

Boasting the larger of the two available floor plans, this casita has been thoughtfully reimagined and remodeled, featuring enlarged baths for a luxurious stay. Casa Garvey is a beautiful casita in an idyllic setting. Twelve minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza, both far enough yet near enough to the city to be just perfect, set in an attractive development of the Tesuque foothills two miles above Tesuque Village, ten minutes from the Santa Fe Opera. Across from the entrance to the development is the Four Seasons Luxury Resort, Rancho Encantado. The casita has the charm of the classic Santa Fe style, with transformed kitchen and baths. It's wonderfully comfortable in all seasons, with delightful patios to enjoy in the warmer months and Kiva coziness when the weather turns cooler. From the spacious patio take in the gorgeous views of the high desert hills and beautiful mountains. Santa Fe Baldy is in view, and an incredible nighttime sky. Beauty and serenity abound while being minutes away from restaurants, galleries, shopping, and plenty of outdoor activities.
- "We rented Tim's house for a quick end of summer getaway with our 9 and 11 year old girls and we all ABSOLUTELY loved this gem of a casita! I would give 6 stars if I could. Gourmet kitchen with every upgrade and thing you could possibly need and more. Modern large, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. All the decor is Santa Fe chic and so cozy. The outdoor patio is so peaceful with beautiful views, perfect for morning coffee, happy hour or a nightcap! Easy 12 minute drive to downtown. Pool was perfect and a great temperature. Tim recommended that we stop at Market Street for food and drinks on the way to the casita and that was the perfect plan. He also recommended going to Tesuque Market and I am SO glad we did. That place is a hidden gem..food and drinks were fantastic, just a super cool place. Loved being walking distance from the Four Seasons...we walked over for hiking, breakfast and 2 dinners (ask for Perla as your server she's the best!) Tim was so friendly, attentive and fast to respond when we needed something. I highly recommend you stay here when you visit Santa Fe, you will not be disappointed and really won't want to leave! We are already planning our next trip back!"

What makes this particular home so special, unique & sought after to stay at?
'Cochiti'- at 23 Mesa Encantado, is the highest, most private casita within the beautiful Pueblo Encantado development in the Tesuque area and is also one of only 2 free standing homes that are not connected to other casitas. This fabulous retreat offers the ultimate in seclusion, privacy and tranquility along with magnificent views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and has spectacular New Mexican stargazing. Located right across the street from The Four Seasons~ Rancho Encantado, this casita is nestled into the foothills and has a stunning large main patio which expands the entire length of the house. It’s fabulous! Both bedrooms are very spacious. The master has a south-facing window wall, kiva fireplace (with romantic candles to use instead of firewood due to carpeting) and a screen door to the main patio which affords gorgeous mountain views. The guest bedroom has french doors (also with screen doors) that open onto a gorgeous private patio with it's own seating area and outdoor kiva fireplace (firewood included) Both bedrooms have extremely comfy carpeting and beautiful, recently renovated bathrooms complete with travertine shower walls and stone countertops. The living room has a cozy corner kiva fireplace, wood beams and has floor to ceiling windows with exquisite mountain views from all. There is a beautiful 3 cushion leather sofa, 2 comfy leather chairs and a bench seat (banco) by the fireplace. The kitchen is fully appointed, with manufactured stone counter tops, floor tile and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked including cooking oils, sugar, spices …everything for your cooking needs. There is also a kitchen bar with 2 bar stools along with a cozy dining room, although the outside dining table is 'the' place to savor any homemade or take out meals! All the unusual furnishings, original southwest art and unique, decorative accessories have all been hand-selected by the owner’s mother and by the owner herself, who's a decorator who had a 34 year business in the Vail Valley of Colorado. Celebrities such as Robert Redford, Robert Michener, Liz Taylor and Bruce Springstein have stayed at Cochiti numerous times.
The 5 star Four Seasons 'Encantado Spa & Restaurant' is located just across the street (only a 10-15 minute walk) and offers fine dining, a bar and an array of luxurious spa treatments. Hiking trails are literally right outside your door at Cochiti (with gorgeous 360 degree vistas and magnificent sunsets just up the hill behind the house. And you can venture right into the heart of the nearby Santa Fe National Forest. Other activities such as horseback riding, skiing, golf, tennis, rafting, biking, etc. are located nearby. There is also an absolutely beautiful outdoor heated pool on the premises (just a short 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive away from the casita) which is typically open from the end of May to early-mid October.
Do keep in mind that although Cochiti is an ultra private retreat, it is conveniently located only 15 minutes from Downtown Santa Fe, with it's world class adobe architecture, some of the world's finest shops and restaurants, galleries and museums. And, it is only minutes away from Tesuque Village (with 2 great restaurants and several galleries) the world famous Santa Fe Opera and the Tesuque Casino. I’d be delighted to tell you about our favorite picks for restaurants, recreation, shopping and gallery strolling.
We look forward to having you as our guest and you will see why so many say this is their favorite 5 star "home away from home." We know you'll be as enchanted with our casita and with Santa Fe as we are. It truly is the “Land of Enchantment”!!

- "Great location with food and friends. Would recommend" - "This 2 bedroom/2 bath home has stunning views from the large terrace. the furnishings are comfortable and stylish, the beds great. With a fully appointed kitchen, it's a great place to entertain. The host is gracious and responsive and her "guide book" to Santa Fe spot on. Post-Opera stargazing on the terrace was one of the highlights of our time in this sensational retreat. And it's close to Santa Fe and the very near-by Tesuque Village Market, a great spot for excellent NM cuisine."

- "Everything you need is there." - "Great place. Easy check out. Kids loved to explore the area." - "Our stay at Acoma was great from arrival to departure. The condo was immaculately clean and stocked with lots of small necessities, plus nice arrival gifts. The property managers, Two Casitas, obviously care about their guests. The Wi-Fi was out briefly on our first morning and we called Two Casitas. They explained the problem and gave us an accurate time for re-connection from the service provider. Everything about Acoma made us feel at home during our stay. There was plenty of firewood and plenty of materials to make starting and managing the fireplace easy and enjoyable. The washer and dryer were full size and did a great job on our laundry. One of the nice things about the cleaning staff is that they used unscented products, down to the unscented laundry soap that was provided. Also, the assortment of bath necessities (lotion, soap, shampoo, etc.) in each bathroom was high quality and made with all natural ingredients. Departing on our final day was one of the nice features of our stay; we basically locked the door behind us as we left. Unlike many rentals, Two Casitas didn't ask us to do laundry, wash our dishes or even take out the trash. Of all the rentals we've stayed in, and there have been many, Acoma is at the top of the list."

This small cabin (casita) is located in a very remote area of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range at 8000 elevation. We encounter field mice, rats, moles, chipmunks, squirrels, skunk, raccoons, bobcat, coyote, deer and elk, mountain lion and bears. We have seen all of these animals near and around our homes. We do contract with a local pest control company to help us mitigate the rodents and they conduct monthly checkups and bait the exterior and interior boxes.
- "We were very happy in the casita that is well equipped and has splendid viewswith quiet surroundings. Only one drawback was the poor quality of our sleep due to a very uncomfortable mattress. We were both so concerned about waking up with some back or hip pain that we decided to sleep each on one end of the bed across the width of the bed on the second night. My husband feet stood out but at least our respective body had more support and in turn we got more rest and avoided possible pain. We would like to suggest the owners to change the mattress to offer comfortable nights to guests. We would like to go back once the mattress is changed to a newer and firmer one. Otherwise, we appreciated all the other comfort included."

At the foot of the Truchas Peaks and on the high road to Taos, lies the village of Truchas. Our mountain home is located about 2 miles from the village at the end of a county road and has been in our family for 25 years. A portion of the home is adobe and was constructed in the early 1900's.
In 2000, the home was renovated and remodeled with room additions. The location is very private and quiet. There is a full kitchen, wifi, two internet tv's, washer and dryer and a bbq grill. On chilly evenings and early mornings, there is a kiva fireplace to add to the ambience of your stay. The Village was founded in the year 1754. There are many decendents of the original families who live here, farm the land, raise cattle and horses and are stewards of this land. There are also many artisans who live and work in the village. Santa Fe, Taos and Los Alamos are all approximately one hour drive from here.
Enjoy snow skiing at Sipapu, Santa Fe Ski and Taos Ski Valley, all about one and one-half hour distance. Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs is also one hour away. Relax and unwind in this peaceful setting. Breathe in the clean mountain air, see the stars at night and enjoy all of the beauty that surrounds you.

The house was as pictured and a perfect getaway for my husband and I. Wild life bonus: Hummingbirds at the feeder were so fun to watch. Also saw a rabbit and a tiny lizard. Great fun! Hostess was very responsive." - "My husband and I recently stayed for a long weekend. The house was beautifully decorated and perfectly secluded for us. While was nice to be secluded, It was also nice to be within an hour of Santa Fe, Taos, and Angel fire. Perfect location for lots of easy day trips. My favorite thing about the home was the beautiful porch. I spent hours watching the hummingbirds and smelling the roses. It was perfect to enjoy the mountain view while having my morning coffee. Victoria was very responsive and a great hostess. Would definitely stay here again."

The provisions of kitchen and toiletries were more than adequate. Scott is a fantastic host that was clear in his instructions and provides a beautiful, safe experience. We will definitely be back again. Thanks Scott!" - "Beautifully maintained and comfortable. My only suggestion would be outdoor furniture that did not require covering it to protect it from the frequent summer rains. "

Come tune in and turn on in this perfect portal for inspiration.
With interiors designed with an artists’ eye and objects new and old created by artists’ hands, the environment at the vision house soothes the sensitive soul.
Want to immerse? Walk (with your water and hat) into thousands of acres of public forest that begins where this property ends.
Or, watch the sun change the shadows and colors all day with views of nature and unique old farm structures letting time take them apart.
The space
Roomy and bright, this 2 bedroom has ample space to sleep and spend the day without stepping on each other’s toes.
One bedroom has king size bed and cranking wood stove, the other bedroom has queen size bed and propane heater with thermostat.
Both bedrooms have beautiful light, natural stone floors, wood ceiling treatment, and ample space for sleeping and working.
There’s a beautiful large living room with seating for six, and a dining room off the bathroom with seating for five.
The roomy and bright kitchen has a simple four burner propane stove, coffee maker, toaster oven, four slice toaster, as well as lots of cast-iron pots and pans, dishes and cutlery. The pantry is well stocked generally with seasoning and oils and vinegars.
Enjoy beautiful views from every room
There is only one bathroom, and it’s centrally located, so it’s good if you feel comfortable sharing intimately with your travel partners.
In cold months, the sunroom, with full-size fold out futon, is cold.
There are heaters in there, so it can be kept warm enough to sleep in with cozy blankets, but it will make sense to close it off to keep the rest of the house warm.
So, if you plan on using all three beds either book during a warmer season, or make sure somebody doesn’t mind sleeping in a cold room.
Guest access
The whole house is yours to enjoy, as well as 2 private acres and the Carson national forest that you can walk right into from here.
Other things to note
This is an area with significant weather events. In the snow or the rain a 4 x 4 vehicle is very helpful to make sure you can drive all the way to the house. The driveway is on the long side and it is dirt. If you don’t have a 4 x 4, in some weather conditions you may need to park and walk up the driveway.
During the monsoon season, mostly July, my driveway tends to wash out in a big rain. It’s not a big deal, there’s a local guy with a back hoe who comes to fix it, but you may have to park and walk across if the arroyo is running.
The best way to get cozy is by making a fire in the woodstove. It really cranks heat!
If you are unsure about how to start a fire, feel free to ask for instruction. It’s an easy stove to get a fire going inside of. The large black trunk located near the woodstove is filled with fire starting materials, and there are large piles of firewood outside the house.

The space
Santa Fe was just named Travel & Leisure #1 best travel city in American 2025
Casa Cochiti is a truly unique respite from the busy world. I'm a chef in NYC but my heart is in New Mexico. I visit Casa Cochiti as much as I possibly can but when I'm not there, it's yours!
Quick Great Stuff:
-3 wood burning kiva fireplaces (split firewood provided)
-In a small community, yet complete privacy w/ no neighbors visible from anywhere in the home or within adobe wall.
-Beautiful wrap around patio
-Super fast internet & printer
-Central air conditioning & heat
-Thoughtfully styled
-Across from the Four Seasons Rancho Encantado great for spa, dining, sunset cocktails, live music on Friday nights etc...
-Seasonal outdoor pool amid peaceful aspen trees enclosed by an adobe wall with an individual access code for each home(June-September)
- Vista for coffee & cocktails
-Tequila & simple syrup stocked for those who like making margaritas (just add limes!)
The space
You first enter the private patio enclosed by an adobe wall w/ a handmade iron gate. Parking is adjacent to the house in a gravel parking area.
The patio is amazing! It has unobstructed views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains (Blood of Christ as they turn deep orange at sunset) w/ an outdoor wood burning kiva & large harvest table for dining.
I plant outdoor herb boxes in the summer for everyone's use and many resident birds (including Frank the roadrunner & Florence the nighthawk) keep us company in the Juniper bushes & Pinon pines. You can often hear the coyotes yipping up on the mesa at night & there is a dark sky ordinance, ensuring blankets of stars for gazing at night.
Entering the house into the living room, low slung furniture, natural light, lots of art and another kiva fireplace keep this living space super cozy. There is a small bar with tequila & cointreau to make a welcome margarita (just add fresh limes)
Every piece of furniture, art and textile is collected by me. Some came from my parents house in Pennsylvania, other pieces from estate sales, yard sales and even curbside found objects!
The couch is the dream sofa & has plenty of room for lounging and napping. The Roku TV comes with Disney, Netflix, Hulu. HBO channel etc... etc...(but you need an account).
The kitchen has been recently renovated with a rustic elegance. Terra cotta floors, tumbled Italian marble backsplash, a large farm house sink & my Mom & Dad's vintage Time Life series cookbooks create a warm vibe. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need (or close to it). The list is long but some highlights are: 2 different coffee makers, Vitamix blender, All-Clad pots and pans, immersion blender, mandolin slicer, coffee/spice grinder, Wusthof knives, electric juicer, porcelain platters & serving bowls, cook books, spices & staples. There's a breakfast bar which duos as a kitchen island repurposed from an old 1800's New Mexican farm table.
***please note, there is no microwave
The dining room is open format and adjacent to the kitchen. There is an expandable mid-century dining table that can seat up to 10 guests.
Down the hall you'll find a bathroom, washer/dryer/laundry area and shower. These are all adjacent to the guest bedroom which has a large closet & super comfy queen sized bed with organic cotton sheets
The larger of the two bedrooms is down 2 steps on the lower level. This room has an entire wall of windows, king size bed, kiva fireplace, walk-in closet, extra split unit AC & private entrance onto the patio.
If you step up the large stone, over the adobe wall on the patio you'll find the perfect vista for your early morning coffee or evening sunset cocktail in the Adirondack chairs w/table. And when you're done lounging on the patio or drinking coffee on the vista, there is so much to do! On the larger 99 acre Pueblo Encantado property is an outdoor pool w/ private access which is a perfect place to while away the hours (June through September) There are endless hiking trails, including across the street and the exclusive Four Seasons Rancho Encantado.
The home is outfitted with tennis racquets, golf clubs (ask me for the local courses), pool towels, fly fishing gear & lots of natural history & hiking trail books
If you choose to stay at Casa Cochiti, I'll send you my own guide to what to see, do & eat!
Enjoy your stay and everything that New Mexico has to offer!
