The only thing I didn’t like was the main red couch in the living room because it was very dirty specially the arms and had stains. The other two couches weren’t as bad, but were also dirty and seemed old. Perhaps the owner can even use a couch cover that can be washed every time a customer leaves, idk that’s just a suggestion. Inside, a spacious open floor plan is appointed with comfortable seating, leather furniture, two plush loungers, and two sofas situated around the rock fireplace and TV. On the far side of this great room is a dining table with plenty of room for six people and a well-stocked kitchen, complete with plenty of prep space and modern appliances.

Both bedrooms are on the same, ground-floor level, with the queen bed guest room on the right and the master suite with a king-sized bed and private bathroom on the left. In each bedroom, two walls are painted and two are finished in tongue-and-groove pine. The master bathroom has a beautifully tiled shower, and the shared bath offers a standard shower. If needed, the loft provides extra sleeping space, with two twin beds.

This beautiful log home has lots of charm and is located in a very peaceful location. It's the perfect spot to use as a home base for Ruidoso's many local activities or to just settle in and relax at the property. Your hot tub will be clean and hot, ready to use when you arrive. The turn-off to Ski Apache is less than five minutes away, and the shopping and restaurants of downtown Ruidoso are just 10 minutes to the south. Pets and smoking are prohibited at Wine and Pines cabin.

Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. 4x4 or chains may be required during winter months to access your home.

The fine print, what to expect: Our cabins include basic cable, satellite or streaming television, basic cooking utensils, propane gas grill (propane provided), washer and dryer (if applicable- please look at the amenities), towels and bed linens for guest use along with heating for winter. Our homes come equipped with either a drip or Keurig coffee maker. *Linens and bath towels *Extra blankets and bedding *Spa towels for properties with spas/hot tubs. While our kitchens are fully equipped with glassware/cookware/utensils/dishes, etc. this does not ensure that all homes will have a blender, crock pot, spices, coffee, or condiments. Please call ahead to confirm if items such as these are available. If not, we ask that you bring your own. Basic toiletries in the Master bathroom only are: *One (1) travel-sized each of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, disposable toothbrush, toothpaste, bar soap, and facial bar soap, *three (3) rolls of toilet paper; one (1) on the holder and two (2) stored in the bathroom. Basic toiletries in all additional bathrooms (if applicable) are: *three (3) rolls of toilet paper; one (1) on the holder and two (2) stored in the bathroom, *one (1) travel-sized bar soap and/or facial soap, *one (1) hairdryer in the home. Basic supplies in the home: *five (5) All-Clear laundry pods, *dish detergent in pod or liquid form (quantities may vary and/or be limited), and three (3) Lemi Shine rinse agent in single-use cups (for homes with dishwashers), *liquid dish soap in (at minimum) a partial container (may only be in homes without dishwashers- check amenities to ensure the home you booked has a dishwasher), *two to three (2-3) rolls of paper towels, *two (2) trash liners in each waste basket; one (1) prepared in a basket and at least one (1) in the bottom or under the sink. We encourage guests to please be mindful of the supplies we provide and always bring extras as housekeeping does not deliver more than what is required to be left in the homes. The space
Ashley’s Tree house is part of El Místico Ranch which is on the last northern ridge of the Sierra Blanca or Sacramento Mountains and sits on a 7,300’ elevation. Balcony views catch amazing sunrises and views of the Lincoln national forest and its vegetated hills full of pinon pine, juniper, and a variety of cacti. Star gazing at its finest, minimal light pollution creates crystal clear night sky for star and moon gazers. Guest can explore the near by national forest or hike the most prominent Nogal Peak crest trail w/ a 9,600’ elevation.

Other things to note
Low roofing sitting at only 6’4” tall inside the Tree House. Door entry 6’. Spiral staircase at its most compact point is only 5’9” tall. So taller guest watch out for your head!

It is a tree house so do consider short showers. Hot water will run out within 5 minutes. Recommend waiting 30 mins after first shower so it heats up again.

The front covered deck is another great relaxing option while grilling and dining el fresco amongst the mountain ambiance. The private outdoor hot tub is also a guest pleaser! Strong jets, great wooded views, and milky way viewing at night!

Bunkhouse Cabin: (Pond on property -may not be suitable for small children.)
Our bunkhouse is situated approximately 75 feet from the Homebase . Both are located at the base of Nogal Peak on five acres with National Forest on three sides. It is surrounded by beautiful Ponderosa pines with a natural creek running through the property. If you like camping but prefer some of the comforts of home, this is the place for you. Rustic yet comfortable is this 550+ sq ft open concept cabin. For the hunters this is unit 36.

Amenities
The cabin is furnished with four murphy double beds sleeping 8 easily as well as a fully furnished kitchenette including refrigerator, stove/oven range, and microwave. Large flat screen television with Roku stick for personal streaming television service and DVD/VCR combo for personal movies. The cabin has one sizable bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. There is very little cellular connectivity in the canyon, no landline however there is internet and we use wifi calling to communicate to the outside world ☺️. Linens and towels provided for number of guests on the reservation. This is the perfect place to disconnect.

A fire ring is located just below the cabin for campfires. Campers must check with Lincoln County Sheriff's Dispatch for open burning status (800-687-2419). All campfires are limited to the fire ring and must be extinguished with water. A charcoal grill is provided for outdoor cooking. (Charcoal not provided)

A 100 x 100 ft barbless wire corral with water trough is available for campers with horses and/or mules. There are many trails for horseback riding. Pennsylvania Canyon is located 1/4 mile from the cabin. Also accessible is Indian Creek and Nogal Trail-head. Access Crest Trail-head and from there find Tortolita, Norman, Gaylord and Littleton Canyons as well as many others. For more information, obtain a "White Mountain Wilderness Lincoln National Forest" map. These can be obtained from the Forest Service in Ruidoso. Smokey Bear District of Lincoln National Forest is 423,416 acres and The White Mountain Wilderness is 50,000 acres. All accessed from our driveway. Until you have seen the mountains from horseback, you haven't seen the mountains!

The property is approximately 13 miles from Capitan and 20 miles from Ruidoso.
This property has an well. The water is safe for drinking. As with any well, depending on the amount of rain, the water can have a slight sulfur smell when the cabin sits without use. This is easily remedied by opening the outdoor faucet and letting the water run for a few minutes. Campers may want to bring drinking water. We have a water filtration system on the cabin.

RECENT FIRE IN NOGAL:
Our property was not affected by the recent fire. You will need to travel through a portion of the nogal canyon that was affected by the fire to access our property. I am providing a video of our property to alleviate any concerns of fire damage. It is still beautiful here and while we are deeply sorry for our neighbors, we feel great gratitude for being spared from the fire.

WINTER RESERVATIONS:
This property is at approximately 7800+ ft elevation and can receive heavy amounts of snow. Guest should have a four-wheel drive vehicle to access property and snow chains. Winter reservations include a special weather related cancellation policy. Full refund is provided (within 48 hours of reservation) in cases where interstates are closed/or property cameras indicate snow levels preventing travel.

We requested a correct one, but never receive it. We had problems with the front door combination. We replaced the batteries and all was good. The neighbors behind had 6-7 dogs that barked everytime we went outside. Thus we were unable to let our 6 lb schnauzer in the fenced area. Suggest you provide a bark zapper to control the barking or talk to the neighbors. Due to no wifi we were unable to receive notices about the Southfork fire. We were updated by our friends who traveled with us and by James and Cindy Hobbs. We evacuated on Monday when we could see the fire in the smoke. We found out when we arrived at Eagle Creek that we had been "GO" section. Other than the lack of wifi, replacing the batteries for the door and the barking dogs, we really loved the cabin. The scenery and wildlife were amazing. It was perfect for myself, boyfriend and our dog."

'Perfect couples Hideout' hence the name for Hideout Cabin! This cozy and comfortable one bedroom cabin features private outdoor hot tub, fully stocked kitchen, internet and gas fireplace. There is also a small gas fireplace in the master bedroom to keep you extra cozy on cool nights. Relax in the hot tub off the covered deck or sip coffee on the swing next to hot tub in the mornings. Hideout Cabin is our closest property to Ski Apache and backs up to the national forest with wooded scenery. Your friends can also stay at Charlie Cabin which is just around the corner. Cabin does not have washer, dryer or dishwasher. Hideout requires 4-wheel drive and possibly chains in winter months particularly during snow storms. Gravel drive to cabin is steep even in the best of weather.

Therefore, be advised that our cancellation policy as well as our inhouse policies and procedures may differ from VRBO. You'll be happy you took a respite from the concrete jungle. PLEASE READ: *Our cabins include basic cable or satellite television, basic cooking utensils, propane gas grill (propane provided), washer and dryer (if applicable- please look at the amenities), towels and bed linens for guest use along with heating for winter. Basic supplies in the home: *five (5) All-Clear laundry pods, *dish detergent in pod or liquid form (quantities may vary and/or be limited) and three (3) Lemi Shine rinse agent in single use cups (for homes with dishwashers), *liquid dish soap in (at minimum) a partial container (may only be in homes without dishwashers- check amenities to ensure the home you booked has a dishwasher), *two to three (2-3) rolls of paper towels, *two (2) trash liners in each waste basket; one (1) prepared in basket and at least one (1) in the bottom or under sink. We encourage guests to please be mindful of the supplies we provide and always bring extras as housekeeping does not deliver more than what is required to be left in the homes.
