While the house isn’t fancy (which isn’t what we were looking for anyway), it had everything we needed and more! It has two large living areas with adequate/comfortable seating, a spacious fully stocked kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, plenty of extra bedding, a full size washer and drier, a garage, a propane grill, a picnic table, and lawn chairs to enjoy the fire pit or just sit outside and enjoy the beauty. The host has done an excellent job of making sure no detail has been missed including vintage touches throughout! We absolutely loved our stay and look forward to returning! "

Rushing Creek, Mountain Views Make Cabin a Perfect Vacation Getaway.
Enjoy the best of both worlds----the peaks of the Continental Divide and the rushing waters of Brown's Creek. You get spectacular mountain views from our upper and lower decks. Plus, enjoy our creek with firepit seating, patio, picnic table and hammock. Wireless even extends to the creek. Enjoy all from the comfort of a private cozy cabin set on three acres of meadow and aspens, spruce and cottonwoods.
And now we have high-speed internet for streaming entertainment.
For outdoor enthusiasts, we're in hiking/rafting/biking country. We're 1 mile east of the Colorado Trail trailhead, and just 3 miles up creek from the Arkansas River where it has carved out historic Brown's Canyon National Monument.
This well-appointed home has all the amenities. It was furnished with a family in mind, but is equally comfortable for a couples’ getaway. The charming décor is rustic with a touch of retro.
The homey living room has a river-rock fireplace, comfy couch, club chairs with ottomans and an electric recliner. Two six-foot windows face the mountains. The living room also has Roku, DVD player, plenty of books, and a collection of board games and jigsaw puzzles.
The kitchen is fully furnished with two sets of dishes, pots and pans, bakeware, mixer, crock pots, rice cooker, blender, electric griddle and more. The kitchen window above the sink looks onto the creek and aspen. Next to another six-foot window is a pine dining table which seats eight, and comes with placemats and bandana napkins. Right off the kitchen is a full-sized washer and dryer. All linens are furnished, including beach towels for water activities.
The large upstairs master is 20’ x 20’ and has a vaulted ceiling and king-sized bed. The room also has a ceiling fan and a sliding glass door which leads onto a deck with bench-seating and mountain views. The decorative (non-working) fireplace is set with candles for a romantic escape. At the top of the stairs is a full bathroom. Towels are provided of course.
The main floor has a full bath (tub/shower).
The main floor features a wrap-around deck with a gas grill and a patio table with umbrella overlooking the creek. On the mountain side is a bench glider and side table, perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine as the sun dips behind the Continental Divide. Step off the deck into the aspen shade for the picnic table, fire pit, hammock and Adirondack benches by the creek.
The area borders millions of acres of National Forest wilderness for hiking. The cabin is just minutes from the best rafting in the west, fly fishing, mineral hot springs, trail rides and golf. Visit the nearby ghost town of St. Elmo and feed chipmunks. Rent a jeep or ATVs in Buena Vista or Salida.
Sample both mountain towns of Salida and Buena Vista—the cabin is exactly between these Arkansas River tourist getaways---just a 15 minute drive in either direction. Enjoy the many restaurants, including the Boathouse Cantina and High Side Restaurant, where you can sip a drink and watch kayakers on the Arkansas River. Amicas microbrewery offers wood-fired pizza and salads. Currents restaurant has good food and live music many evenings. Afterwards, stroll along the river and browse the numerous art galleries and shops.
Plan your own getaway, or we can provide you with links to area activities and attractions.

Welcome to Mt. Ralphmore!
Absolutely the best in every way...location, scenic views & price. This mountain retreat is built in the Heart of the Colorado Rockies(more 14,000' mountains here than anywhere else in North America), breath-taking mountain views in every direction, best view of the famous Chalk Cliffs.
Overlooks & constructed on the banks of the beautiful Chalk Creek w/ floor to ceiling windows.. Enjoy the beauty (magnificent) & sounds of nature (bubbling creek below), watch the wildlife (deer, elk, fox) fish, hike or sit out on the 40' plus wrap around porch. The large screened in porch is great for outdoor eating and relaxing as well.
This is a warm & wonderfully built cabin w/ all the comforts & amenities (maybe more) of home. With 3 full baths and 6 separate vanities, everyone gets accommodated.
Mt. Ralphmore is located just 15 min. & 23 min. respectively from the historic towns of Buena Vista & Salida, where charm, dining, shopping & galleries abound!
The San Isabel National Forest, St. Elmo (famous ghost town & great place to feed the chipmunks or rent jeeps/snowmobiles), Mt Princeton Hot Springs (Colorado's #1 hot springs)& the Arkansas River (great rafting or fly fishing) are all right here.
Monarch, Ski Cooper & Copper Ski Resorts are all 45-60 min. away, as is Leadville (lots of history there). Breckenridge is just a bit over an hour & Vail is 1 hr. & 30 min. Located 90 miles from Colorado Springs, flying in & out is easy.
Plenty of activities to enjoy year round. The best place to take a family, take a friend, take a break & take a vacation!

- "The house was great location fantastic but the river was incredible!" - "A wonderful location to do lots of adventures, including just staying put with a morning coffee out on the deck and an evening campfire down by the river to end our day." - "We spent a long weekend at the cabin for our sons 40th birthday. It has everything we needed and more. The location is easy to get to. The cabin is immaculate and had plenty of room for the 12 of us - 8 adults, 4 kids. We have been going to Mt. Princeton for the last 40 plus years and this was by far our favorite stay. There is plenty of seating to accommodate everyone indoors and out. We loved having coffee by the creek in the morning, spending the day fishing in the creek and finishing the night up by the campfire roasting s'mores. The wrap around porch with the view of the Chalk Cliffs and Chalk Creek was truly a dream. Elizabeth was very responsive and very accommodating to our needs, we also give her 5 stars. The cabin is an amazing property for family pictures, we can't wait to put our photo books together for the family. Thank you for the wonderful stay, we will be back. Peace and Love, Bob and Janis"

This is a "Pay it Forward" cabin, I did my part you do yours, "Thank You"
license # 012588
The peacefulness of this location, the views. the little dome only a 10-minute walk to Wrights Lake.
This cabin is approximately 800 square feet, with a loft, with a queen bed and futon couch. Downstairs or on the main floor is the kitchen area, living area with a fold out couch chairs and the bathroom "with standard bathtub and shower". There is also a laundry room. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, blender, toaster, pots and pans along with cooking and eating utensils.
The water in this "Little Dome", is from a well, the well water is approx. 104 degrees at the well, It is natural warm water from the geothermal in the area.
I suggest you bring drinking water, although some drink it, it just is what it is.
Cabin price based on 2 people all extra guests and pets are $20 more per pet or guest per night. Make sure you add pets as guest and verify all before arrival. This is your home and others in the mountains, surprises are good but not the type that is to sneak one over on Jeff or the other guests on the property. Like you tell me one pet and got 5, or one guest and I arrive to find a tent and a camper. Thank You, All and Jeff
If you bring extra guests (people or pets) and did not include when booking it is best, you inform Jeff immediately and /or use the drop box on the property located at Jeff's house. If you do not inform Jeff/use the drop box, you will be charged double when leave. This will come out of your damage deposit. That is $40 per night for each and not $20. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. (OR) you will lose your deposit. I am tired of people not the pets trying to get over on me and me letting it happen. It took too many years to fix these places up, never getting paid and now, I just wanted to be treated as I ask. Thank You Jeff and all honest guests!
"LEAVE AS FOUND OR BETTER"
THIS IS YOUR HOME AND OTHERS IN THE MOUNTAINS.
No wood stove here a pellet stove " I try to keep a bag of pellets at the Dome"
also, there is a gas stove and some electric heaters.
Please turn all heaters off or to low when leave. I may not show-up before the next guest, so I ask them how the previous guest left, please respect all, enjoy.
IT IS SUGGESTED YOU BRING THE FOLLOWING,
Remember, this is your cabin and others in the mountains "Cheers"
Linens or sleeping bags and pillowcases
Towels and dish cloths
Toilet paper and paper towels
Trash Bags
"Provided are pillows and blankets, not pillowcases"
All can be provided for a fee, but advanced notice is a must, minimum cost is $25 per bed, includes bedding (top and bottom sheet), 2 pillowcases, 2 towels, 2 wash cloths.
For outside fire, bring wood or clean up the forest around, Do Not Burn any of the old Cedar trees or logs, just the pine and cottonwood
Outside there is a gas grill, charcoal grill and a fire pit.
Bring Firewood, whenever possible, for outside campfires or go to Bunnylane and buy.
Outside there is a gas grill, charcoal grill, and a fire pit.
PLEASE, be respectful of all and leave clean. Please remind children to do the same, clean-up after any pets.
THE DISHES ARE CLEAN AND PUT AWAY, AND THE COUNTERS LEFT CLEAN AS THE REST OF THE CABIN / Little DOME"
FLOORS ARE CLEAN AND ALL RUGS HAVE BEEN SHAKEN OUT AND PUT BACK AS FOUND.
If the floor is wood then sweep, there are brooms and dust pans for you to use.' also a mop and mop bucket.
If the previous guest left anything wrong, please inform me ASAP so I can stop them from getting their deposit back according to what they did. Thanks
ALL GARBAGE HAULED OFF, IF DUMPSTER AVAILABLE AT BUNNYLANE THEN PUT IN IT.
There is a dumpster at Bunnylane Cabins approx. 1/2 mile away beside Wrights Lake, where Jeff lives. Leave your trash in the dumpster.
The Dumpster is as you drive down CR 291 past the cabins and just before the lake on the left side you will see a propane tank and a metal dumpster.
Thank You
Jeff
DO NOT LEAVE ANY TRASH IN BUILDING OR OUTSIDE EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS, LIKE BEARS, BIRDS AND WIND.
ANY ITEM NOT DONE WILL BE A $50.00 DEDUCTION FROM YOUR DEPOSIT or lose your deposit and for those that gave their word and not a deposit, Jeff can send them a bill requesting the full damage deposit or whatever he feels reasonable. See the Availability/Reservations link at the bottom "Do Not Get on the Bad List"
COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED. I CANNOT CONTROL EVERYTHING, AS I LEAVE THAT UP TO EACH OF MY GUESTS

I do not have internet here, but it is at Bunnylane Cabins 1/2 mile away or down at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs 1-1/2 miles away. If you come to Bunnylane to use internet you will have to find me or ask me after you have booked this place.
I want people to spend time together not by texting but by bonding as the old days. I will give you the password, but I do not want downloading movies or streaming music, it will slow or shut down from overuse, business only.
"Do not give to children tell them to play games, puzzles, catch/kick ball, enjoy the outdoors"
I am planning to get internet at the Little Dome for those that have business to do, I can understand needing the internet but not wanting to live with it.
Ask if I have got it yet

- "Had a great stay at the dome. The area is beautiful and there are many activities nearby The kitchen had everything we needed. If you want to hang outside on the porch i might suggest a citronella candle since there were lots of bugs at dusk. Just to note in warmer weather the dome heats up quite a bit and not all of the doors and windows have screens so it is a bit tricky to air out or get a cross breeze going." - "My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 days. We completely loved the property and area. Place was very clean and cozy. This was our first time in the area. We enjoyed our stay!"

- "I fell in love as soon as i saw. Please understand i grew up in a home so much like this one so it was very (crazy yes) comforting ❤️...I never felt micro managed. The notes through out the place told me how it worked and was plenty. Place was clean when i arrived took pictures as well as after i left. If you want 5 stars hotel experience not this place it is hands down rural living but the location was amazing i could be lost for days enjoying the everything fron fishing, hiking, sight seeing. The freaking best EVER. I never met Jeff and so wish i had so i could tell him personally thanks and shake his hand. I would go back so relaxing."

- "We weren't sure at first, but after 24 hours we realized it was going to be a great week! It kept us warm, dry & helped us make some amazing memories! Quietly tucked away down a CR past the business & even had a fishing pond within walking distance. Saw lots of wildlife too. Would definitely rebook." - "Had a very nice time. Enjoyed it immensely. Would come and stay here again for sure...." - "Loved it!!" - "It was exactly what we expected for a cabin, we really enjoyed the old time feel staying here"

- "Very Nice Property around the Chalk Cliffs with Chalk Creek right out the back door. Very well kept!! Thanks for sharing your home with us!" - "We stayed here for five days and four nights with six adults and four children. We were in the area for a 50th wedding celebration at Mount Princeton Springs resort. The kids particularly loved the fire pit, the hot tub, and the pool table. The adults thought the kitchen was very well equipped, the house was clean and very comfortable. one adult sleeping in the kids room on the double bed thought that the mattress was a little hard. We were in the master suite and found that bed extremely comfortable, and the en suite bathroom quite accommodating. We all enjoyed listening to the creek beside the house, and several of us went for hikes in the area. The house has a very strong religious theme that non-Christians might find a bit overwhelming, but this was not a problem for us. We would certainly stay there again."

You will fall in love with our beautiful, modern mountain retreat nestled in the stunning Chalk Creek Canyon. We named the house and property Comhluadar (Gaelic word, pronounced CO-loo-dare) because it means “Company, Family; The Harmony of Being Together.” We built it to share with friends and family, and now YOU are part of that harmony! Private and secluded, this custom-built home sits on 2.5 acres of pristine mountain property, bordering national forest. Enjoy the beauty of the Chalk Cliffs, the majestic vistas of Mt. Princeton and Mt. Antero, and spectacular starry night skies. Our driveway sits one-quarter mile from the Colorado Trail, 11 miles down canyon from the ghost town of St. Elmo and minutes from the Mt Princeton Hot Springs. You'll be only 12 minutes from the friendly conveniences of Buena Vista, 18 minutes from the art walks, shopping, and dining of Salida, and 45 minutes from Monarch Mountain. No traffic!
The house sleeps 8 comfortably, has brand new appliances in a well-appointed gourmet kitchen, and plenty of indoor and outdoor living space to accommodate your family and friends. For those that like the modern conveniences of home, we provide high speed WiFi, a flat screen TV and Blueray DVD player, and a Bluetooth stereo system. A wood burning pellet stove sits in the corner of the great room and provides plenty of warmth on cold winter days. The perfect accommodations for your reunion, retreat, girls weekend, couples getaway, or family vacation.
We strive to offer superior accommodations to all our guests, therefore smoking and pets are not allowed.
And yes, that IS a disco ball hanging from the ceiling... hope you use it!
The southern facing front deck, with comfortable patio furniture, is perfect for morning coffee, or you can sit in the backyard shade to enjoy the cool mountain air. A picnic table and a gas grill, along with an outdoor fire pit make the back yard area a perfect spot for evening meals. Please note that we adhere very strictly to the posted fire bans in the area. If fires are not permitted, you will be notified prior to check in. We provide a propane fire pit to our guests when there is a ban in effect. You will forfeit your deposit if you choose to ignore the fire bans. Ignoring the fire ban puts not only yourself at risk, but also the lives of our entire canyon community.
In the winter, a 4WD/AWD vehicle is required. Our county road is plowed, and with enough notice, our driveway will be plowed as well. But a 4WD/AWD vehicle will make it regardless.
Come stay and play in the Arkansas Valley, where world class river rafting, mountain biking, 4-wheeling, mountaineering and hiking are at your front door. Welcome home!
Please note the vintage campers on site are no longer rented.
- "Excellent location for white water rafting and hiking. The house was built with love and care. Top notch appliances and amenities." - "Wonderful property, fantastically beautiful and incredibly peaceful. Even more beautiful than the pictures" - "Beautiful house set in a beautiful location. So much wildlife to watch. Nice hiking trails within walking distance. It was a wonderful time for the whole family. Lots of memories." - "The pictures don’t do this beautiful home justice! The home has incredible views, it is very spacious and comfortable, it is secluded and private, and it is in an incredible location next to world class hiking and the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. Highly recommend this home for your Rocky Mountain vacation! We will be back for sure."

- "Rustic, comfortable and very relaxing! We will return!" - "Beautiful location, weather didn't cooperate raining most of time we were there" - "This is the third time I’ve stayed at this property, and it has become like our second home in one of the most beautiful parts of the state. I’ve taken my 7 year old son twice, now. It’s an incredibly quaint cabin, with many things to do nearby. One of our favorites is to enjoy the Mt. Princeton hot springs (only five minutes away). Buena Vista is nearby, as well as a huge number of places for all kinds of outdoor activities. Jeffrey, Brent and Diane are great. I had a dead battery upon leaving, and they didn’t hesitate to give me a jump. They sent us on our way after giving my son cookies and a pocket knife. I highly recommend this cabin!"
