We are a mom and daughter (with lots of street smarts), so we made out just fine."

- "I came to New York for a vacation and to relax and I couldn’t it was a banging noise the 3 nights I was in 213 I called to complain about it and nothing was done about it I spent " - "I booked this on a Tuesday. The posting on VRBO said that I would need to present ID at check in. I was fine with that. But then I got emails and phone calls and text messages from various numbers claiming to be the host saying that they needed me to send photocopies of the front and back of my Driver's License and my credit card. I said "can I read you the number over the phone" because it is not safe to share whole images of the card with a stranger online like that. They said no. Then I said please cancel. They said I cannot cancel, and then charged me--they had not charged me until I asked to cancel--it was only during the phone call where they demanded my credit card image that they put the charge for the entire stay on my card. Later in the week, they cancelled my reservation because I refused to electronically share images of my driver's license and credit card with them. That is to say--the HOST cancelled the reservation! But they had already charged me for the entire stay, and they did not issue a refund. I demand a refund and that this host be permanently banned from using VRBO to committ fraud. On top of all that, when I called the official merchant's phone number (the one my bank has for them, connected to the charge on my credit card) I got a automated message offering me free medical devices. They do not have any staff on site to allow you to check in in person. The supervisor is a call center that is very noisy with lots of others calling. SCAM DONT BOOK!"

- "Listing was not as advertised, in an unsafe neighborhood, requested separate rental agreement (which would be fine) but an additional requirement for card documentation for their file, implying a duplicate charge. When I tried to cancel our 5 night stay (online, via phone, and through email) after nearly being accosted by 3 strangers upon our entry, I was immediately denied and told 'no refund', 'can't cancel' and 'its not known (locally) as a safe place'. Ridiculously poor customer service and false advertising. "

- "My stay was okay; but I would like to note that I fell outside of the building near the ramp leading to the parking lot and I could not get anyone to take an incident report. I had to be transported to the emergency room via EMS. The sink in the bathroom was broken, the toilet seat was broken and too small for the toilet. There were not enough towels and wash cloths for the stay. We ran out of toilet paper and we had problems getting into the building the first day. There were burn marks on the nightstand and a puncture on one of the head boards, the remote was missing the back and microwave rotating plate did not work and there were holes in the wall near the towel rack. We did not receive blankets for the pull out couch for our guest which was a huge inconvenience. It was extremely noisy throughout the night with banging and other disturbing noises. It’s not worth the nightly rate. "
