While this is not a shared space, we are always easily accessible to assist and answer any questions during your stay, no matter where we are. A full dining kitchen level is in the lower level. The King bed can be divided to two XL twins upon request with advance notice. The main house "The James" a 4 bedroom cape cod style house is also available for booking. A farm manager and family help me maintain the smooth flow of guests visiting the "Rosalie and James".
Nearby Powhatan State Park and the James river offer a great spot for outdoor adventure off the farm or head east to Short Pump in Richmond for shopping choices ad infinitum. I am happy to share this unique and lovely setting with others.

Renovated with tasteful tile floors, granite counters, and stainless appliances, the kitchen is the heartbeat of the home. The bedrooms, family room and dining room all have hardwood floors. The basement is perfect for entertaining with another flat screen tv, pool table, "live edge" bar top area, half bath, laundry room, and 4th bedroom. The attached 2 car garage has a ping pong table and corn hole. There is a screened in, side porch that offers relaxing views of the pond. There is a small back deck off of the kitchen and a small patio space with table and chairs just of the french doors of the walk out basement.

The Rosalie, one bedroom one bath self sufficient apartment on two levels giving you privacy and freedom from the rest of the house. The large west facing deck is a favorite spot for sunset hour. Two separate drives retain the privacy and detachment of both spaces. The nightly rate for this listing is priced for 8 guests (additional guests are $20 per night / per guest after 8.) TRARO is a place where you and your littles can go barefoot in the backyard and explore and "wonder" through the trails, up to the Lookout Point, and around the silos. The perfect place for a game of “hide and seek”.

If you would like to experience horseback riding, we have a relationship with a nearby horse farm that offers lessons. We have 5 horses in our stables and are happy to arrange a private showing around our stables safely. For equestrians, we have a separate barn with its own private field that we can offer a package for horse accommodations.

When the land was originally purchased over 35 years ago one of the intriguing features was that it was known to have underground quartz, which is credited with benefiting overall health…giving balance, clarity, and energy.

We like to think of our family's ranch as a Southwestern Soul Sanctuary. It has brought 3 generations great joy and true connection. And we want to share that with you and your loved ones.

Fun Fact #1: Originally named Fox Den Farm and operated as a horse farm for many years. We, the second generation, re-imagined it as part of this new hospitality adventure, The Ranch at Red Oak. The land has some beautiful Red Oaks, and we have a curated collection of Southwest artifacts, displayed throughout the home, that are one-of-a-kind.

Fun Fact #2: Our parents were entrepreneurs and shared a love for rodeo, team penning and adventure. Many team penning events were held on the Ranch and Our Dad was on an amateur team that won Nationals!

The home itself is truly five stars, completely updated and they have everything you will ever need. Janet and her family own the property, but you have the house and most of the property to yourself. They have horses and allowed us to book a time to go see them and feed them carrots! This was no extra cost and just part of the stay! They have a nice hot tub, not to mention other amenties in the house (fooseball table, poker table, etc.). They have trails behind their home, great for morning walks as well as a pond to go fishing. They have several seating areas outside to enjoy the weather, and there were fireflies this time of year (May) in their backyard! Overall I never stayed at a more perfect place when traveling, this exceeded our expectations! Cant wait to go back to the Ranch!"

This unique one-story antique farmhouse, rich in history, features three bedrooms, each bathed in natural light and offering serene views of the horses. The master bedroom boasts a cozy full bed with direct access to the full bathroom. The second bedroom houses a queen bed, while the third includes a twin bed. Two of the bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans for added comfort, and all linens and towels are provided.

For your comfort, the home is heated by a propane fireplace in the family room and a propane stove in the sunroom, with additional electric radiator heaters in the bedrooms and portable space heaters available when needed. In summer, window units help keep the house cool. You'll also have access to reliable cell service and upgraded hotspot Wi-Fi, ensuring you can work remotely without issue during your stay.

Outdoor Spaces & Amenities
