The SoMa is filled with hip boutiques, galleries etc. Home also to the Place des Vosges and a stone’s throw from bottom part of the Canal Saint-Martin, the Paris Yacht Club and the Seine. Even better, you will be on the quieter side and therefore able to enjoy the hubbub and also the calm. The apartment is on the sixth floor with elevator. That gives you a great rooftop view of Paris.

You will be greeted at the apartment upon arrival by our American representative, who will give you a tour of the apartment, explain how things work, point out items of interest in the neighborhood, answer your questions and lastly give you the keys to your apartment.

We are located just minutes from the Marché Bastille, Marché d’Aligre, or even the shops on Rue de Rivoli. All three will provide fresh Parisian products, multiple Cheese shops, Bakeries, Wine shops, restaurants, supermarkets, florists, butchers, and several delis of different varieties.

THE LOCATION AND NEIGHBORHOOD

La Camille is just minutes away from the Place des Vosges, the Musée Carnavalet (recently reopened), Musée Picasso, Musée Victor Hugo, the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, galleries, restaurants and shops.

It’s an easy stroll to Notre Dame, the Museum of Jewish Art and History, Arts et Métiers, Ile St. Louis, Canal Saint Martin, the Centre Pompidou, and many more. The area is France’s largest historical district and home to a 700 year old Jewish quarter. The 17th century architecture is a magnificent backdrop to all that the neighborhood has to offer.

As with most places in Paris we are conveniently located to the 'Velib' system of shared bikes, as well as other brands.

THE APARTMENT

La Camille is a 2-bedroom apartment (700 square feet or 65 square meters) in a traditional French building but with modern lines found only in luxury Italian design. The apartment was designed by a well-known Italian architect and has been written up in multiple designer magazines. It is modern, comfortable, and functional, decorated with bold colors and top quality finishes.

You enter the apartment into a foyer that gives you access to the all the rooms separately so as to provide some privacy between the various rooms.

The apartment has WIFI, unlimited calling to more than 100 countries, and Cable with large wall-mounted flat-screen TV (Netflix and many other international channels). There are books and magazines for you to explore.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, gas cooktop, oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, Nespresso machine and all of the cooking equipment you’ll need. There’s also a combination washer/dryer.

The apartment has double-glazed windows. It is a very bright apartment.

The master bedroom provides a queen-sized bed with reading lights, built-in closets with lots of storage space. All in a peaceful white.

The second bedroom uses a comfortable sleeper-sofa providing space for one guest (120cm X 195cm). The room can be opened up to provide a larger dining/entertainment area together with the living room.

The bathroom has a bathtub with a handheld shower with plenty of hot water. Additionally a sink, toilet and bidet. You will also find a hairdryer at your convenience.

For your convenience there is a separate toilet with small sink.

- "The street was very charming. The place was small but comfortable for our needs. The proximity to Gare de Lyon was perfect for catching an early morning train to Marseille." - "The positive is that the street is very cute and is convenient to get to public transportation, restaurants, etc. We had 4 people staying for a whole week and they provided ONLY 3 towels. There was a garbage bag full of dirty towels and linens in the closet. I do believe there should be at least 1 towel per person, if not more. The apartment did not have air conditioning, and we happened to be there in August when in was unbearably hot for a 4th story apartment. It would have been nice to at least have 2 fans (1 for each bed). There was no way to communicate with the host. The "house manual" was in French and hard to translate, even though previous communication and booking had been done in English. I would have liked a phone number to reach out and get the necessary linens for our stay. The night before checkout I received an email saying to vacate by a certain hour. That was not communicated to me in the beginning so we scrambled that morning to leave on time. Cute place, cute street, poor communication and lacked the appropriate amount of linens for the guests. - "I LOVED staying at this apt. First of all, the owner, Jean-baptiste, was fabulous. He was always available to answer questions, was super helpful & hospitable, & was a wonderful person in general. He's the kind of person one would want to be friends with. Secondly, the location of the apt. was terrific. It's in a non-touristy area of Paris in the 12th arr., & it overlooks a small square which is full of activity. Six mornings a week, there are 3 markets there--an outdoor fruit & veg market, a flea market, & an indoor market in a building where they sell mainly cheeses, meats, fish, etc. The surrounding streets have lots of bakeries, cheese shops, wine shops, etc., as well as cafes/bistros/bars. The noise of the market setup starts by 6 AM, but it didn't bother us. It's about 10-15 min. to walk to a couple of different Metro stops. We felt completely safe in the neighborhood. For most tourist sites, you'll have to take the Metro because it's far to walk. In the evenings in the square, there are 2 outdoor cafes/bars-a fun atmosphere! The apt. itself is great. The toilet/sink is in a separate room from the shower room, which also has a sink. The kitchen is very narrow, but we didn't cook, so it didn't matter. The best thing about the apt. is that it has 2 enormous windows, which are actually doors onto a balcony. I loved looking out the windows at the activity in the square below, & looking west at Paris. My only suggestion: a trash can in the bedroom & bathroom."

- "Perfect spot for our family of 3. The bedroom has a door that closed. And the sofa bed is comfortable. The toilet is separate from the shower. The kitchen has a washing machine and a dishwasher. Both are small, but adequate. The freezer makes ice really fast, bring your own ice trays. When you open the windows you get a nice breeze. There is a fan that was very helpful for air and for some white noise. The balcony is quaint and nice. The 13th is a hidden gem. Right on the river with tons of restaurants and bars to check out. Also right by a Franprix, mini grocery store. Chez Lili downstairs is delicious and quick and most staff speak some English. I would stay here again. Right across from Bercy/ Accor arena if you want to see a concert. Bernard was also very helpful during check-in and after. He met us there."

All the volume of the room is optimised. You really have dedicated "corners", entrance, closets + you also have significant extra storage space on top of the corridor entrance (tu put your suitcase for instance).
The studio is in the 3rd of a small and safe building. As most flats in the area it has no elevator.
The bedroom only has one direct neighbour, who is quiet.
Note the WC is to be shared with one person, considering it is literally 8 steps from your door, and to be shared with a young polite student working in a restaurant (almost never there). Always clean and has to remain clean. Accessible with a key (only the 2 of you has this key).
