You'll love being able to walk to the vibrant, Uptown Ankeny District with rooftop bars restaurants, quaint shopping, the weekly farmer's market, and directly on the High Trestle Trail. Uptown Ankeny has so much to offer and you'll be close enough to walk.

All of the bedrooms have comfortable memory foam mattress and upgraded linens. We're kind of bed snobs, so that's to your benefit. Jetted tub in master bathroom with subway tiled walk in shower, double shower head, as well. Washer and Dryer included in the primary bedroom closet.

Primary bedroom has en-suite private bathroom with the jetted tub and shower. California King bed. Night stand and dressers are ready for your use. Double door entrance. There is also a full-sized fold out bed in the primary bedroom, which doubles as a couch.

The second bedroom has a king size bed. Third bedroom has a full sized, memory foam mattress, bed. We also have an additional full sized, Ikea, fold out bed on the main level. in the side family room. This serve as seating until it's easily opened up and folded out. Please request linens if you plan to use the fold out couches.

Kitchen has traditional ceramic and glass plates/bowls/glasses but also plastic plates, cups, bowls, and silver wear for the young ones. Coffee maker, microwave, toaster as well. The kitchen is well stocked.

Beyond having a charming 1950’s kitchen and spacious dining and living areas, we also have a 1970’s themed TV and Game Room stocked with over 30 games and puzzles, an authentic Tiki Bar with a peacock chair, wet bar, and bar supplies, a Children’s Playroom filled with books, toys, and a fort, as well as a Bridal Suite/Dressing Room with an Art Deco vanity that doubles as a bedroom - and outside, a six person hot tub available year-round!

From late Spring through Summer, we have a large 16x40ft pool (guaranteed to be open 5/26 - 9/5, but will do everything possible to have it open well before and after those dates based on weather!), lounge chairs, and outdoor eating areas. Year round, we have a six person hot tub, a wood burning firepit and spacious grounds to explore including a wood bridge and secret nature trail.

Our bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. We have over 100 books throughout the home for guests to enjoy. Our game room has an abundance of vinyl records and games. Our kitchen is stocked with cook/bakeware, cookbooks, and Lenox dish ware. We have 2 smart TVs (one off the kitchen and the other in the family room).

We are located just 15 minutes north of downtown Des Moines and are within a mile of a high end grocery store and shopping complex filled with great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. We believe the Des Moines area is a hidden gem with an abundance of fine dining, antique stores, high end boutiques, breweries, bike trails, the largest skate park in the country, live music, family activities, nature trails, lakes, and farmers markets.

The play area in the garage was a big hit for our 9 yr old. The separation of bedrooms upstairs vs downstairs allowed each family to have their own sleeping space. The yard is large, fenced with grass so good for dogs. The neighborhood is very quiet and seems safe. It’s close to major roads and amenities. There were a few issues that made our stay less than ideal. A repair guy was at the house when we checked in. He replaced an exhaust fan in one of the bathrooms. Unfortunately he didn’t fix the lights, too, so that bathroom was pretty dark. He did fix the kiddie gate on the stairs going to the downstairs so that was good. The yard is great but it hasn’t been mowed in some time so the grass is tall which made it hard to pick up after our dogs. There was a large pile of sheets and towels in the dryer that we didn’t know where to put. In order to cool the top floor, we froze the family sleeping in the downstairs. The cooling system has one thermostat on the main floor. The listing did not say that access to all bedrooms requires either going upstairs or downstairs- no bedrooms are on the main floor. Finally, we’ve stayed in a lot of short term rentals and the check out process was a bit onerous. Stripping the beds for that many beds on our way out was time consuming. "

It was clean, fully stocked, and had more than enough to do. The property had land and plenty of open space in back, making a beautiful backdrop, and vibes of being secluded, but close enough to town to get to places quick.The property manager was highly responsive in a timely fashion. We asked if they had a specifoc kitchen item and he said they did not have it, but made sure they would. A brand new one was waiting for us when we arrived. The house was very well stocked with anything a reasonable person could ask for, and was very, very family friendly with both indoor games and activities, as well as outdoor. We had 13 people in our group and never once felt on top of each other. The layout of the house was suitable for our four families. The only thing we did not expect about the property was that the bedroom with the double bed appeared to be in a large walk in closet off the master, only accessible by going through the master and master bath to access. With that said, it would be perfect for younger ones.Our four families would definitely come back and stay at this property next time we are in town."
