Welcome to our beautiful open concept industrial loft. Upon entering our cozy abode, you'll find a clean, bright, well decorated home with many great amenities where you can kick back, relax and enjoy your stay.

Walking in you'll be greeted by 20' ceilings, beautiful polished concrete flooring, lots of windows and light, steel railings with many concrete and wood elements throughout. This place is like nothing else you will see in the Des Moines area. We hope you love our loft as much as we do.

The fully lit bathroom will wow anyone with the designer concrete sink, spacious tiled shower and large mirror. Getting ready in this bathroom feels like luxury.

The large living room is a great place to kick your feet up and has ample space to spread out and relax. It has a 65" flat screen TV with an extremely comfortable sectional couch and brown leather chair.

Moving through the kitchen area, you will find a spacious 4' x 10' wood island table with 6 bar stools. The beautiful gray, soft close cabinets house all the kitchen utensils you will need (pots, pans, silverware, cups, plates, etc.). The kitchen has all Whirlpool appliances, a 30" gas cook top, fridge, oven and microwave.

Upstairs there are two overhead lofts with really comfortable King sized beds in each carpeted room. The master loft has a 65" TV and a large closet. Stretch out and get a good nights sleep in one of these cozy rooms.

Our loft is in a perfect centralized location for any traveler and visitor. We are conveniently off of I-80 and I-235. Since we are off I-80 there is some interstate noise. To mitigate this, we installed thicker drywall and had our walls spray foamed for more insulation. There is also a box fan in each bedroom which covers up any interstate noise you may hear.

Whether you are passing through or staying awhile, you'll be able to get anywhere in Des Moines and the surrounding area within 10 - 25 minutes. We are 5 minutes from the Prairie Trail District where you will find lots of great dining and entertainment options. And only 10 minutes to downtown Des Moines.

This brand new, one bedroom barndominium apartment is private, quiet, romantic and beautiful. It’s located 1 mile East of the Ankeny airport, so a quick drive to anything you want to do, but away from the hustle and bustle. There’s a brand new, super comfy king sized bed with black out curtain. Step onto the deck and take in the woods and pond sounds all around. Watch your favorite movie while soaking in the huge hot tub. There’s an electric fireplace that can even make a warm evening romantic and a fully stocked kitchen so you can enjoy your morning coffee. Even if the weather isn’t perfect, you can enjoy sitting on the comfy deck furniture under the covered deck with ceiling fan. We also have a propane heater in case there’s a chill in the air. We aren’t into fancy, but we love comfort and quiet in nature. If that sounds good-you will love our cozy cottage in the woods!

It’s fully insulated, has heat/AC, running water (water might be off in freezing temps, but there are functional work arounds ), full bathroom, TV, kitchenette, loft beds. - "We never even had the opportunity to stay at this property, as we weren't able to check-in. After not receiving the check-in instructions from the property owner, we reached out multiple times, each with no response. First, we reached out prior to the check-in time, stating we hadn't received info on how to access the property and asked if they could provide it. After no response, we reached out again about an hour after the listed time, but before we had arrived at the property, nothing. Since we had to be in town for an event the following morning, we still drove to the property hoping we would hear from them or would still be able to access the property somehow. We reached out one final time at almost 9 pm, as we were arriving. They still did not respond and the phone number they had linked to the property also did not exist. If all of this wasn't enough, when we did finally arrive there was already someone in the unit. We knocked, but no one answered. However, multiple dogs were barking on the other side of the door. VRBO has not yet been helpful in resolving this issue. It is unlikely we will book through VRBO again."

We live in this home - kids live in this home - your booking and rating is for the room and bathroom. If you notice that other spaces (kitchen, living room, and dinning room) are not clean, please remember this is a family home and those spaces are not cleaned for guests.

PRIVATE bathroom during your stay, however the toddler does use this bathroom before and after guest stays so you will see that it is clean for you but has his items in the space.

This home belongs to my 2 dogs, they simply let us live with them :) They LOVE people but they are NOT pet friendly so please do not ask to bring your own pets with you.

They do not have access to this room during your stay but BUT this is one of "their" rooms when we do not have guests so you may see a dog hair or two in the room. You will have to interact with them when you enter and leave your room before 930pm or after 645am. They will bark in excitement when they see you or any other guest arriving and would love to have you pet them if you're willing.

If you hate dogs or hate a dog barking as an alarm system, please book somewhere else

The space
Newly remodeled 700 sq feet home.

Offering your own 2 bedroom, 3 bed (pull out couch in living room), 1 full bath with a living room and kitchen area. There is a private driveway that can hold up to 4 vehicles if needed. There is a decent size yard for your dogs to sniff and roam. The area is not fenced in and there is currently no outdoor sitting area.

The kitchen is stocked with glasses, dishes, pots, pans, silverware, utensils, and other items you would need to make meals at home. Furnished with a microwave, regular coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker and K-cups, stove with oven, refrigerator with freezer, and toaster. There is a counter high drop leaf table with two chairs.

The living room is furnished with a queen sized hideaway bed couch, love seat couch, 52" smart HD TV with Netflix (you can use other apps such as Amazon and Hulu using your own account information), free high speed internet from Mediacom, and a coffee table.

Each bedroom has a queen sized bed with a mattress cover (memory foam, more firm than soft), closet with hangers and a luggage rack, dresser with four drawers, smart tv, and alarm clock with phone charger. There are several sets of extra sheets, blankets, and pillows as needed. All bedding is washed and sanitized between guest stays.

Both bedrooms are only steps away from a newly remodeled bathroom with toilet, bathtub, and shower. Towels, wash clothes, hair dryer, toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are available.

There is an iron and ironing board in the bedroom closet. We also have a Pack N Play for infants and toddlers that can be used if needed. There is not bedding the for the Pack N Play and will need to be assembled by the guest unless requested prior to visit.

Our home is meticulously cleaned by professionals after every stay. This home is perfect for those that want a clean, smoke free space that is close to everything in Des Moines.

You will have access to the entire house and yard. Private driveway that is minimal steps to entry. Self check in with a door lock set up with a code provided day of stay.

Other things to note
We are in a very quiet and tranquil neighborhood with minimal traffic and neighbors that keep to themselves, yet watch out for others.

Home has central air/heat that works well in each room. Thermostat is yours to controls while you are staying there.

There is a washer/dryer in the home along with laundry soap and dryer sheets. Please use as needed, but do not overload as it is a smaller stackable unit.

No smoking inside. Outdoor deck area has small smoking area with a receptacle for cigarette butts.

My husband and I have put a lot of time, effort, and love into this home and take great pride into keeping it as nice as possible. We live across the street and can be there in minutes to help with anything you may need.

We use half of the driveway for our trailers. We leave an empty lane for our guests to use that can easily hold three vehicles. If you need more space for additional vehicles, please let us know prior to your arrival and we will make adjustments.

This is a one room cabin. There is a loft area for an extra sleeping space or for storage. There is seating for two, a microwave, fridge, TV with DVD player. No Wi-Fi. Toilet is outside. No water. There is a space heater for cooler nights and an AC window unit if it gets too warm!

Guests will have access to the whole cabin, the pond and the surrounding woods to explore!

There is no running water, we do provide one gallon of water or a pack of water bottles in the fridge. The toilet is waterless, using only bags. We have a window AC unit and a small space heater. The cabin shares a driveway with our house, so you may encounter other vehicles. We do have animals(chickens, goats, dogs and cats) on the property that may come up around the cabin.

Just for clarification, this is NOT a shared property. There is another entirely private and separate unit with its own entrance in the back, lower level. (It is not a basement) This is where my awesome property manager stays who is ready to help with any situation that may arise, but rest assured, each unit is 100% private with its own entrance, secure locks, parking place, etc.

There are three bedrooms. Bedroom one and two have a wall that adjoins the family room and kitchen that does not go all the way to the ceiling. People in the bedroom will hear what is going on in the rest of the property and visa-versa. Bedroom three has French doors that can be closed for more privacy.

Other things to note
This is a rural property that is on a gravel road of up to 1.2 miles. One route has just .2 mile of gravel but is more to navigate. There is a working apiary on site. There is also a pond and chickens. The home sits 1/8 mile south of a highway so there is road noise during rush hour if you are outside. A farm field to the South. The house is on well water and septic so water conservation is appreciated.


The property is in rural Iowa next to a green space and farm field. We may have coons, opossums, coyote, fox, bobcat, wild turkey, deer, dogs, cats, rabbits, squinty (ground squirrel), owls, birds and MICE venturing around, especially at night. We do everything we can to prevent mice from being in the house. As much as we would like the furry little mice not to find access, occasional they find it, generally through an open door. We will have traps strategically set that allow us to relocate it. Please call us if you find a mouse in a trap.

We ask that you do not hunt or fish on the property. There is a weekly cleaning fee of 110$ for extended stays beyond 7 days, and all guests are required to be identified with name and age for security.

Enjoy our relaxing cabin on an 8-acre shared pond just a couple of miles outside of the city. Highway access to a secluded spot in this 266-acre property. The cabin is “off the grid”. There is a waterfront deck, firepits, tree swing, dock, and many other ways to enjoy the peaceful scenery. A generator will be supplied for a “not so off grid” experience if preferred. UTV rentals are an option when available ($250/day) if you want to explore the property and have some fun.

This property will give you the true off the grid experience. There is no running water/bathroom. There is a portable bathroom on site with flushable toilet & nonpotable water(during winter months it’s only a port-a-john).

The bathroom has a walk in shower, supplied with soaps and shampoos, All towels and linens provided. The comfortable bedroom has a brand new king sized bed, closet, with robes provided. There’s a washer and dryer, and beach towels provided for use at the hot tub. The best part is the deck! It adds another whole living space surrounded by nature, but if you want to watch tv you can do that too. There’s comfortable seating in a two person glider or rocking chairs. There’s a hot tub, propane heater in season, and ceiling fan. Watch tv from the hot tub, or simply soak in the sounds of the surrounding countryside.

Please stay within the Cozy Cottage, deck and driveway. The steps leading off the deck and the grassy area between the house and Cozy Cottage are off limits.

Other things to note
We are in the country, and our cozy cottage is in the back of a large Morton building. We have WiFi, and we don’t have problems with internet (we have a Verizon business plan) but some people do. Just be aware that if you plan to work on line while at the cozy cottage, it’s possible your internet may be spotty, But most people don’t have a problem. We also have a strict no event policy, and ask that you adhere to the 2 guest maximum rule.

Pets are welcome ($100 pet fee, double for high shed breeds) however we really prefer them to be crated and not left home alone unattended.

Here you get the lush fluffy towels, (our apt air bnb gets the $4 towels 😜cause lord knows). There’s extra beach/outdoor towels so you don’t have to pack those!

Basement has a large L shaped sectional couch and a decent amount of wrestling mats (cause duhhh Iowa🤼). Kids can crash on the wrestling mats with sleeping bags and grown ups can have the beds!

There’s extra bedding and a sleeping bag for anyone who wants to sleep on the couches or mats. (Easily can fit 2 adults or a few kids on couches)

You can also use the gym & mats downstairs (just please tell kiddos to be careful). It has free weights, a heavy bag, a speed bag, resistance bands and yoga mats.

Nice, large capacity washer & dryer. Laundry soap provided.

In the backyard there’s a play structure, fire pit, BBQ and deck with sitting area and a full size swinging daybed!

This is a family friendly home bc it is our personal home when we are in Iowa, we have tried to think of everything but we are human, so if we have missed a spot or forgot something, just let us know- we are easy & reasonable folks that want you to have a great stay and our property manager is a great guy too! However if you are of the high strung, rude, negative Nancy or Karen type-we aren’t for you, please book elsewhere.

You have the whole house to yourself, 3 bds upstairs, 1 downstairs, gym area, washer and dryer.

The only parts off limits are the workshop downstairs & shed outside. Please don’t rummage through everything as this is our personal home also and some closets are marked as personal storage.

Other things to note
We do wood working there when we are in Iowa, so yes there’s paint spots in the driveway and there’s some saw dust in the basement (tho we dust all livable, pertinent areas you’d be using). If either of these things “offend” you...please don’t book it-just save us both the headache.

The Inn can sleep 26 guests and located on the grounds of Summerset Winery, located just south of Des Moines. The Inn has a fully functioning kitchen, pool table, Tuscan style garden with outdoor grills and multiple decks.

-Fully functional kitchens where you can bring in supplies to create your own feast, or hire a personal chef to prepare a special meal. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils and kitchen tools so you can keep your meals as simple or as elaborate as you desire.
-Grill outside on charcoal or gas grills, your choice.
-Full access to the amenities: Tuscan Garden, Gazebo, expansive front porch, large scenic back decks, pool table, charcoal and gas grills, walking trail.
