- "We needed a house for one night to break up a long drive between Minneapolis and Wichita. The decor and appointments were great - in this case it was the funky, chic, opposite of traditional "home-y" vibe that I wanted. I loved it all. There's a beautiful screened in porch, and a deck with table and chairs. There's lots of restaurants nearby. There are two things I want to mention for anyone "like me" - meaning in my 50s and with physical stability challenges. First, the house is older and has settled quite a bit, and there are uneven spots in the floor that caused me to stumble a little bit. Once I knew about them, and where they were I was just fine. Second, the stairway to the basement (where the laundry machines are)... Granted, I'm not from basement country, so I don't have a lot to compare it with, however: The door opens into the open stairwell. There is no railing on the upper portion of stairs and, with my wobbly joints, it was difficult to manage. Once I was safely back into the kitchen, I turned to close the door - and I had to reach out over the drop by holding onto the door frame with my right hand to try and reach the door handle with my left. I'm a daily laundry do-er, but I decided to skip it after trying out the stairs to check out the basement space. Once was enough for me! Otherwise, the property was great and I'd stay there again!"

- "The hose is as describe, very clean and loved the fenced in backyard for my pups. Lots of great places like Target and dining places very close by. The neighborhood is in a process of revitalization so be aware of that. I would stay again. The id verification is kind of a put off and there was another $35 I had to pay. This beautiful two story home is a great space for your group. You'll find 2 bedrooms with queen beds on the first floor. Along with a full kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom.
The 2nd floor is an open space where you'll find a king and queen bed, full bath and a large desk that's perfect for working from home.
The fenced in backyard is great for hanging out around the fire pit or enjoying a meal at the picnic table. The kids will especially love the slide that's attached to the deck.
The best way to get around is driving or catching a ride with Uber or Lyft which are always readily available.

You will be staying in my home in South KC limits, right off I49 with easy access in 15-25 minutes to most popular areas of the city such as the Plaza, Power and Lights, the Chiefs Stadium, the zoo, and multiple hospitals. This room has two twin beds and a large desk, perfect for setting up an extra monitor for working remotely. There is also a small tv in the corner. The room is private and you will receive a unique code. The bathroom is shared with whoever is staying in the room next door.

The Bohemi room, is a private room on the second floor of our house. Size: 12.5' x 11.5' There is a large open landing room, with a large nook for a desk & comfortable work area. There is a Full bath that serves, the 2 bedrooms of the second Floor level.

For consideration of others, it is easiest for guests to keep their personal toiletries, in their individual rooms. The maximum number of guests, using the bathroom would be 4 people.

The studio is a converted garage and is attached to our home. There is a lock on each side.

You will have your own parking and separate door for access. We will provide code the day prior to your arrival. Each Friday we will collect soiled linens and provide clean linens. We do not provide laundry services for your personal items. We also allow access to our outdoor trash. The city picks up trash Wednesday morning. I take it to the street on Tuesday night. Please tie up your trash prior to placing it in our outdoor can. We will show you where our trash is located upon arrival.
Other things to note
Due to Kansas City ordering us to cease operating short term, we are no longer able to accept stays of 30 days or fewer. Please feel welcome to stay with us 31 nights or longer.
We provide 3 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels and 2 trash bags for each trash can. After these items are used you are on your own. No need to leave extra supplies!

Speaking of expectations the bathroom should be cleaned weekly too. Our expectation is that YOU leave it as clean as you found it. Toilet, shower and sink, and everything else. This suite has a separate entrance and two locking egress bedrooms. You might have the whole space to yourself or I can let you know if someone is in the other room. Fully furnished kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, Go-ogle Fiber, driveway parking, green back yard, quiet cul-de-sac. Get comfy on the Queen sized Sleep Number bed. At 900 square feet you can spread out and feel at home. Close to the intersection of 435, 470 and 71/49 highway--get any place in the city quickly.

This is a beautifully finished basement. Everything is brand new. When we moved in upstairs most of the downstairs was unfinished. My husband is a contractor and he did a beautiful job adding two bedrooms, a kitchen and expanding the sad little bathroom that was there before. Both bedrooms have legal egress windows. New replacement windows let in lots of light. You get to park in the driveway on this quiet cul-de-sac. Sorry, no fires in fireplace.

Since I live upstairs I'm available if you need something, but as a general rule, after making sure that guests know the ropes, I give them their privacy. There is a storage closet downstairs but if I need anything I will text to make sure it's OK to come downstairs.

Most guests enter, through our front door. Our front door is up the steps, to the right. Our Front door, has a deer like animal painted on it.
We like to greet our guests and give a brief orientation when you arrive, if you have time. You will then receive a gate clicker and keys.
Most guests don't bother to lock up, others, lock themselves out. lol.
I recommend only using the dead bolt lock on the balcony door.

I hope you will love it here! Its a very nice and quiet neighborhood close to everything. Its only a few minutes from the highway which makes the location very convenient. It overlooks little park so you will always have a nice view looking out the windows or the balcony door. Quiet neighborhood on a tree lined dead end street backing up to a park. The bedroom on the main floor has a queen size bed and desk, which makes for a great weekend getaway or remote work from home option. I usually have coffee on in the morning.
There has never been a problem with plenty of free on street parking, but it is at your own risk so be sure to always lock your car doors.
The space
1950's ranch on a tree line street that dead ends into a park. There is a basement tenant, but he has his own dedicated space and entrance in the basement and will not be on the main floor.
There is limited refrigerated space in the main kitchen with use of the microwave and coffee pot.
During your stay
I like to meet my guests upon arrival and show them around the place and answer any questions. I am normally available for city tips and other questions, but give the guests their own space as I would ask that they do the same with me.
Other things to note
There is an active bee hive in the backyard that guests may observe, but I would ask that you not get close or bother the bees, who are hard at work. There is also Prada, the queen (cat), that you might see if you are lucky, but most of the time she is hiding on her throne under my bed so please do not go looking for or chasing her.
There is plenty of free parking on the street. It has not been an issue, but it is at your own risk so please keep your doors locked.
Finally, in the separate basement area, there is a tenant that you might hear, but will not see unless coming or going to his car.
One guest was concerned with the hourly coocoo clock so if this is something you want me to turn off, please let me know.

As a little house rule that helps keep the furniture nice, please, no wet towels on beds or wooden footboards. Rooms are small, so hang towels, etc. in closet or hooks provided. Much appreciated!

Your bedroom is first or second door on the left, depending on availability. The double/full bed room has a TV, the Queen room does not. You will generally have the hall bath for yourself. Main TV is in the hearth room that we will share, and a full kitchen if needed; also shared. I have a lovely back deck and sunroom. I use a charley bar to lock the sliding glass door. Ask for details when you arrive.
During your stay
I am very flexible in this department, too. The spring and fall are very nice times of year to have coffee in the sunroom, a refreshment on the back deck with the torches burning at night, or taking in a short walk to the Blue Moose (soon to be Tanners!) or Barrio restaurant for dinner. If you play the piano, or have a musical instrument, impromptu recitals or concerts are encouraged. :-)

Shopping Center is just behind my house! Ping pong, golf course within walking distance, and learning chess this year, so impromptu games welcome!
The space
The rooms are small but quaint (beds are super comfy), and can accommodate a variety of needs. Just ask, and I can discuss more details.
It's also a musical and gaming household if you want to indulge in table tennis, chess, piano, or have your own instrument you'd like to play. I have a large hall bath that will generally be for your use, but it is the main bath, so visitors will use when necessary. So I try to keep this area clean!
In summer, I don’t keep the house tooo cold, so you can expect an attic fan if in the 70s and 80's at times.
Here's an odd detail, but many people do this, so it merits mentioning . . . please, no wet towels on the bed or footboards. This rots the wood and is not good for the mattress. So please either hang in closet, or on a hook provided. If there's room in the bathroom and you're the main guest, feel free to hang towels on the racks.
And remember to utilize ceiling fans for best comfort in warmer weather. Just pull the chain to the level you want. :-)

I own my home so community space you find in apartments or condos aren’t relevant. And I have a lovely back deck, sunroom, and various areas to sit and enjoy! I added a fire pit to the backyard after my tree died. Lots of options in all of the seasons to enjoy.
During your stay
I am very flexible in this department, too. The spring and fall are very nice times of year to have coffee in the sunroom, a refreshment on the back deck with the torches burning at night, or taking in a short walk to the Blue Moose or Mexican Barrio restaurant for dinner. If you play the piano, impromptu recitals or concerts are encouraged. :-)
Other things to note
1. Generally, we take shoes off at door. :-). Cubby space available in entryway.
2. If possible, checkout by 10 AM on Sunday's, and no check-in past 7 pm.
3. In certain circumstances, garage parking is available in the winter in heavy snow or extreme conditions. Not meant for full-time use.
4. I use attic fan and ceiling fans in temperate weather
5. I don't serve breakfast, but offer coffee and tea. If using kitchen, please replace condiments and food used.
6. Deadbolt at front door has two settings. Don't turn too far left, or you'll lock yourself (and others) out.
Long-term (30 day min.).
This renovated home is in a great neighborhood, with easy access to the thoroughfare, Ward Parkway, which leads you to Trader Joe's, Target, and the mall to the south, and the Country Club Plaza to the north. Newer appliances, including refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. Just a 3 minute drive to 75th and Wornall, which is the heart of the Waldo neighborhood, with great coffee, restaurants, and bars. This property has outdoor video security.
The space
The space is small, but has a convenient layout. Almost everything in the house is new except for the beautiful floors, so the home feels clean and fresh. We sought to maximize the small floorplan in the way we furnished the place and by adding a peninsula in the kitchen, which serves as a place to eat at the bar, plenty additional storage, and a convenient space for cooking. As you see in the pictures, we also have a folding table and chairs for outdoor dining on the back deck. We hope you'll enjoy living here as much as we do!

No parties/large events. This is a very small house that is designed for 1-2 people to stay comfortably. The neighbors will not tolerate a party or loud noise, and the house really can't handle more than a dinner gathering with 3-4 people.

The space

Relax in the living area with access to Netflix and Prime Video on the 65” flat-screen TV. For added convenience, the suite includes a new private washer and dryer.

Guests have access to free street parking. The lower level suite has a private separate entrance from the main home with a backyard entrance via keypad lock. Before your arrival, you'll receive a unique code for easy and secure access.
Other things to note
Our family lives in the upper portion of the home, so you will occasionally hear the footsteps of our two children as you’d expect with a lower level unit. To ensure a restful stay, we provide a sound machine and speaker for your comfort. Central air is managed from the upper level—we will keep the temperature at a comfortable setting for you. However, each bedroom also has a personal space heater for added comfort.

Located minutes off of I49 at the Red Bridge exit, this is an ideal spot in South KC limits. In a stylishly remodeled walk in basement apartment with private entrance, you will have the comfortable, spacious suburban feel while having an easy 15-25 minute drive to most popular areas of the metro, such as the Plaza, Power and Lights, Overland Park, Lee's Summit, the Chiefs and Royals stadiums, and more. The airport is about 45 minutes away depending on traffic.
The space
This is a single family home in South Kansas City. There are 3 rooms upstairs which may be rented as well. The host lives in the home. This is an older home with limited sound proofing and is best suited for laid back guests who are accustomed to apartment/family living and older homes.
Guest access
For the basement, the guests have access to the entire basement area, excluding the garage. Guests may access the backyard as a shared space. I live upstairs and sometimes rent other rooms or the whole upstairs when I'm away for longer periods of time, so myself or my family or guests from upstairs may be in the backyard. The basement is not a shared space; guests will have a small private bedroom, private full bathroom (shower only), private living room, and kitchenette.
Other things to note
At this time there is no separate thermostat for the basement. We typically set the thermostat to 68. If you would like to be able to adjust the temp during your stay, you are welcome to either ask us to change it for you or provide an email so we can send you the link to download the app to be able to control it from your phone.
LIGHT SLEEPERS: Be aware it is an older home with squeaky floors and limited sound proofing. It is also very close to the highway with frequent sirens heard. There will usually be people upstairs, including children at times, whether myself and my family or other guests. Ear plugs and a white noise machine are provided.
