- "Full disclosure: we didn't get to stay here. This is why I would absolutely give it 5 stars regardless: We got caught in Tropical Storm Sara which left us stranded at Belize City. Every hotel in the immediate area was booked. I was able to find this at the last minute and booked it. Erroneously, their website had not shut down in time to prevent me from booking there because they too were experiencing flooding and had to shut down their resort. While most others could have just looked at us and said "sorry, too bad" they not only helped us, but assisted us in finding another hotel. Pete, the owner even gave us a ride to our hotel. Let me tell you, when we get back here one day, we will come patron the resort when it's not in a storm - they were so incredibly warm, accommodating, and from what we could see in the dark, the resort grounds looked amazing. The food and drink were amazing and the service we received was wonderful. We stayed over American Thanksgiving and the they offered a Thanksgiving menu for dinner. Be aware they have limited selections each day due to the fact that they prepare all the food with fresh ingredients. For dinner we were offered a meat option, vegetarian option, and pasta option. Dinner is a four course meal, breakfast and lunch were a la cart with a good amount of menu options. I would absolutely stay here again!! "

ATM Cave and more
Lower Dover is super close to the ATM cave. If you start your tour from us, you will be amongst the earliest groups in the cave + have a unique mystical experience! All inclusive ATM cave is $135usd cash (USD or BZD) paid to the tour guide on tour day. We'll price match. Email our free concierge service and we will make the ATM Cave tour reservation for you. Please incude in your email the tour name/date/quantity/food restrictions and we'll take it from there.

MEALS for meat eaters and WFPB vegetarians
Healthy homemade dinner is served family style at 6pm for $15usd+tx. Veggie/beef/chicken/shrimp Curries, BBQ, paella, pesto pastas, sheppards pie plus soup/salad and hibiscus drinks are on rotation throughout the week.

To make your life easier, dinner is AUTOMATICALLY reserved for arriving guests. Meals are not included in the lodging price. ARRIVING guests must email us before 10am of check in day if they wish to opt out of dinner or have food restrictions.

Existing guests make dinner reservations no later than the previous meal. For example, at breakfast you sign up for dinner. At dinner you sign up for breakfast. 10am is the cut off time for same day dinner reservations.

Breakfast is served between 7-9am. Refried beans, egg and potato OR plant based overnight oats/seeds/nuts., Fruit/juice/coffee/tea included for both breakfast options. $7.50usd+ tx

Do-It-Yourself Meals:
Lower Dover has a public kitchen for guests who wish to cook for themselves and opt out of Lower Dover prepared meals. Bring your own groceries, available at the local village market.
Oil, spices, pots/pans/utensile are provided for free. Don't ask to "borrow" eggs, bread, pastas, onions, fruits etc. There is limited refrigeration space so bring what you need for only your stay.

Tiny Houses is set in a nature lover's environment. Just 8 minutes drive from the centre of Belmopan, and you are in a natural forested environment! Each Tiny House has its own bathroom, kitchenette with utensils and table top stove. Water and electricity with sewage connection! Ideal for group stays, or nature lovers! There are very lovely yard spaces with firepit for BBQ or bonfire, seating areas, hammocks, picnic table and don't forget the lovely tropical forested areas with wildlife!

Belmopan is located in the heart of Belize with easy access to explore so many destinations such as the St. Herman's Cave and Blue Hole, Guanacaste National Park, the Belize Zoo, ATM Cave, San Ignacio and many more easily using public transportation! And if you have your own transport, day trips are easy to numerous other destinations such as Dangriga Belize's culture capital, Hopkins, Placencia and Seine Bight, Caye Caulker, Orange Walk, Caracol, Mountain Pine Ridge and so much more!!!!!

Our guests have access to their whole tiny house; our spaceous yard areas including hammocks, firepit with seating, boardwalk and other yard spaces!

Other things to note
It is important that guests know that I do not live on site and therefore them communicating their arrival plans in advance is very important to a smooth check-in. Many of our guests do not have internet and phone access during their trip; however a solution is to borrow a phone call from a Belizean on your arrival at the airport or an hour before your arrival time so that I can be right there to greet you!

Independence Loft is one bedroom in Independence House . The house offers a home away from home experience, inviting you to relax and immerse yourself in good old Belizean hospitality and adventure. The beautiful home is cool and airy,
with hammocks available for your relaxation.

The space
Private room with a comfortable full size bed that easily sleeps two adults. The room is equipped with ample storage by means of drawers built into the walls, along with an ample closet. room is A/C with ceiling and standing fans . To help conserve energy & protect the environment turn off A/ C and fans when not in room

The full bath is shared with other room on the same floor . Has hot and cold shower.

This room is above another room . We do not ask that you be patient of other guests but that you be considerate especially of those below.

If you wish to really experience the entire Belizean way of living (culture : Christmas , Easter , Independence festivities with all its fireworks & music , dogs ,roosters) I would be more than happy to host you as one of my guests . Come as guests leave as family !

I am willing to open my modest home to you . All I ask is respect and understanding as it is a home, and not a Hotel much less a motel. Belize is not a 1st world country therefore do not expect 1st world amenities. Electricity & water are 2 utilizes asked to be conscientious of, be conservative!

I can also assist you in arranging comfortable affordable shuttle from & or to the airport or the water taxi terminal , set up tours to the following : Mountain Pine Ridge , Tikal, ATM & other caves , horse back etc . All that the West has to offer!!

The Seahorse 2 is a spacious, budget friendly private room. Ideal for adventurous travelers who love to explore the island, but want an affordable alternative to big resorts. It's a best seller for back packers who want close to a hostel price, but also a privacy.

​Seahorse 2 shares a bathroom with two other rooms (Breezy Balcony & Seahorse 3) but have no fear -- the bathrooms are clean. We clean it regularly, and even more if all 3 rooms are booked out.

There's also a back gate giving you water access to the ocean, using our kayaks.

Level and frequency of my in person interaction is based on my availability at any point in time (not predictable). I am very responsive once an message or phone call through the Airbnb system is received. My assistant and I are also happy to interact more with guests who are so oriented, as we are friendly people.

Communication is very important to us, so we can be of most assistance to you and be able to assure you of a great visit. We are happy to oblige with information about different things or places to visit in the area.

Once a report is received, we address any issues, for example 'cuts' in utilities, that are within our control within the shortest time possible.

We request a tentative arrival and departure time, during our check-in and check-out times, so we can ensure courteous reception and check-out.

You will be asked to present an official photo identification document and to fill in a registration form upon check-in as is required by law.
