Placencia is the second most popular tourist destination located in Southern Belize. It is located on a 16 mile long peninsula that is surrounded by the Placencia Lagoon on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. It is much smaller, less congested and more laid back than Ambergris Caye / San Pedro. Being on a peninsula and not an island, Placencia provides easy access to the Belize Rainforest and many activities on the mainland like Mayan Ruins, waterfalls, zip lining and cave tubbing to name a few. **GETTING FROM THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO THE PROPERTY**
All international flights into and out of Belize are serviced through the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), located northwest of Belize City. Your concierge will assist with the first options to arrange domestic transportation from BZE to Placencia:
- Travel by plane on a local commuter flight from the airport (BZE) to the Placencia Airstrip (PLJ). Flight time is approximately 30 minutes. Once in Placencia, our staff will pick you up and take you to the villa. Our concierge will work with you to book the local flights as soon as you have your international flights ready.
- Travel by private shuttle van from BZE, where the driver will meet you outside of baggage claim. The drive time is approximately 2 hours. You’ll be taken directly to the villa. Our concierge will work with you to book the shuttle van as soon as you have your international flights ready.
- Option 3 is to rent a vehicle at BZE and make the drive down to the condo yourself. There are numerous rental car agencies right across the parking lot from baggage claim including Hertz Avis and Crystal Car Rental a larger local car rental company. You would just need to go online to book and secure a vehicle prior to arrival.

**BOOKING FEES & CANCELLATION POLICY**
A full refund minus a non-refundable booking fee of $450, will be issued when Guest elects to cancel the booking at least 120 days prior to check-in date. If the booking is canceled at any point after the 120 days, all payments made will be retained.

This GOLD STANDARD elegant, private, serene, and truly beautiful villa is set in a gorgeous tropical garden complete with a large waterfall pool, palapa dock, rooftop deck, outdoor entertainment area all right on the Caribbean Sea. This private, walled estate offers complete security, luxury, and privacy. Yet it is but a short walk (5-8 minutes only) to the centre of Placencia Village with its many artisan shops, fantastic local and international restaurants and fun beach bars. The interior space is the lower level of the Villa and is approximately 2,000 square feet offering beautiful decor and every comfort of home. There are two bedrooms each with a queen sized bed and two large bathrooms. One has a beautiful outdoor shower complete with its own small private garden as well as large walk-in indoor shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a gas range, a large refrigerator with an ice maker and water dispenser, blender, microwave oven, dishwasher and all other equipment necessary to produce a gourmet meal which can be enjoyed in the dining area which seats six. The lounge area is complete with all you need to enjoy a relaxing evening watching television (flat screen) or listening to music. The entire area is tastefully decorated with local art and crafts and is very well maintained. Of course it has central air conditioning, free wi-fi (Skype quality) and cable television for your comfort and enjoyment.

The garden and pool area is truly beautiful! There are many paths to explore to discover its lush foliage, bountiful flowers, including many orchids, numerous types of palms and flowering shrubs, climbing vines and even fruit trees. When swimming in the large salt water pool, gazing at the sea, the large palms or the hundreds of flowers which surround it, one feels as though they are truly in the Garden of Eden! There are several cushioned lounges, chairs, even a hammock in the pool area where you can choose to rest in either the sun or the shade.

We used Leo’s car rental down the street to take us on private excursions so you can do your own thing and not have to be with a large group. Cave tubing in St. Hermon cave is fun but if you want something a little more adventurous do the cave hike experience with Vida the guide, it was spectacular but you do need to be physically fit it’s well worth it! Swimming in the waterfall is fun and only 30 minutes away then have lunch on the top of the mountain with a 360 degree view of beautiful Belize! We did go to the Mayan ruins a 3 hour drive it was pretty cool and interesting then went to Guatemala !! A must do is to contact Corine at The Yacht Club which is down in the village she will send a boat in the bay of the village to get you, best bruschetta & jalapeño poppers ever! This truly was our favorite vaca from cold Michigan! Loved being on the beach & having the pier!"

If your group wishes additional space we do offer our separate "lil Dolphin", 2Bedroom/Full Bath (sleeps 4-6) exclusively for Blue Dolphin guests (if not needed it is never rented independently to respect your privacy, so is available for your group to rent at anytime prior to arrival.) The "lil dolphin is located on the same property having it's own ocean view/full kitchen/roof top deck/veranda etc... Our new VIDEO TOUR, made last May, 2015, is wonderful to give you a feel of our "slice of paradise"!! Since the video we have retiled the entire main floor and pool area along with a fabulous addition to the living area, affording lots of space inside and out for your group to enjoy and "spread out"!! We also updated the roof top deck as well, making the Blue Dolphin again "The nicest house on the island"!! The "new paved road north also was removed from our property and placed along the edge of the lagoon making our property even more private and very very quiet as our property stretches from the ocean to the lagoon!!

Our beautifully landscaped, very private and expansive 2 acre estate includes 150 feet of white sand beach right on the Caribbean Sea with a pier that's wonderful for snorkeling and fishing from and reaches back 700' to a beautiful wildlife filled, mangrove lagoon with another pier for fishing. We also have available to our guests 3 kayaks to carry you swiftly (5 to 10min. depending on the breeze) to the reef for your own private snorkeling adventures and a Belizean canoe and a small row boat for touring/fishing the lagoon.

___October, 2014: we built a resort size pier, complete with large palapa covered area at the end, stairs, fish table with running water to rinse off gear, making it an "unbelievable" place to fish, swim, morning yoga or coffee or just enjoy the ocean breeze viewing the reef or passing dolphins or bone fish!!
___November, 2014: San Pedro Town completes the 1st phase of the road north which ends 1000ft from our private drive making town a 10minute smooth golf cart ride away!!
___April, 2015: We completed our addition of two new bathrooms ensuite, making the Blue Dolphin 5 bedrooms/5baths with 3 being ensuite!!!!
If needed we also offer, at an additional cost of $369/nite, the adjacent newly constructed, two bedroom/sleeps 6, 'Lil' Dolphin with its own full kitchen, living room, dining area for six and full luxurious bath and all the amenities of the Blue Dolphin house including; WIFI, Phone, Cable TV, Smart TVDVD and I-Pod stereo and Air Conditioning. All seven spacious bedrooms have wonderfully comfortable Tempurpedic beds. Upon arrival you will take a short, 15 minute taxi ride to our beach house, the Blue Dolphin, they all know it. Casa Tortuga villa is a five bedroom villa with a one bedroom guest house adjacent to the villa, for a total of six bedrooms. The pale pink villa is two stories, with five large arches and 60 foot long verandas on each floor. The upper level has two very large bedrooms with king canopy beds. The beach level has three additional canopy beds, and a large lanai around the pool.

The beach has a giant chess set from Neiman Marcus. The King and Queen in the chess set are three feet tall, which makes the game a lot of fun. Our pool is the largest private pool in Belize, with an eight foot high bronze horse fountain from Versailles. At one end of the pool is a booth for 'in pool' dining. We also have 250 feet of beach front, on the Caribbean Sea. Our beach is the longest of any villa in San Pedro.

The guest house has a king bed in the bedroom and a queen sofa bed in the living room. It also has a jacuzzi tub, and a roof garden, where you can see all over the island.

Our cook and her assistant prepare three delicious meals for our guests each day. We have a breakfast china, a luncheon china, and two different patterns for dinner, which she alternates. Our cook, Maria, also uses linen napkins at all meals, and crystal stemware at dinner. Her meal presentations are truly exceptional, as well as her floral centre pieces for the villa.

Guides will pick you up at our private dock for activities and excursions. On the evening of your arrival, our guide, Carlos, will come over to the villa after dinner, when everyone is together, and tell you about the activities available in the area.
