- "Full disclosure: we didn't get to stay here. This is why I would absolutely give it 5 stars regardless: We got caught in Tropical Storm Sara which left us stranded at Belize City. Every hotel in the immediate area was booked. I was able to find this at the last minute and booked it. Erroneously, their website had not shut down in time to prevent me from booking there because they too were experiencing flooding and had to shut down their resort. While most others could have just looked at us and said "sorry, too bad" they not only helped us, but assisted us in finding another hotel. Pete, the owner even gave us a ride to our hotel. Let me tell you, when we get back here one day, we will come patron the resort when it's not in a storm - they were so incredibly warm, accommodating, and from what we could see in the dark, the resort grounds looked amazing. - "Our 2 bedroom villa was beautifully furnished with a modern kitchen and gorgeous outdoor space around a private pool. The indoor outdoor shower in the master bedroom was amazing. This villa has separate air conditioning in both bedrooms and the living room. Having a washer/dryer was a nice bonus. These villas are situated in a gated community on top of a hill overlooking the Maya flats about 15 minutes outside Xunantunich. You definitely need AWD to access your villla. The site manager Julian was easy to contact and was quick to respond to any questions. "

Cesar was amazing in helping me book tours weeks before our trip, and coordinating shuttles, airport transfers, taxis, and pretty much everything we could have desired--our own travel agent with such quick response times! Even when one of our tours was cancelled last minute due to a ferry malfunction, Cesar coordinated an impromptu cooking class that ended up being of of my favorite parts of the trip. Our only complaint was that the beds were quite hard, but otherwise, a perfect place!"

The beds were comfortable and the cabins were clean. Make sure you bring bug spray - we also brought the mosquito coils that we lit while we were relaxing in the hammocks which kept most of the bugs away. The food and drink were amazing and the service we received was wonderful. We stayed over American Thanksgiving and the they offered a Thanksgiving menu for dinner. Be aware they have limited selections each day due to the fact that they prepare all the food with fresh ingredients. For dinner we were offered a meat option, vegetarian option, and pasta option. Dinner is a four course meal, breakfast and lunch were a la cart with a good amount of menu options. I would absolutely stay here again!! "

We also loved the quiet nature setting and it was a beautiful property. The room was clean and we always had hot water for showers. You should remember though, that you are on a farm in Belize, so we had some spider and gecko visitors in our room that we caught and released. Overall, fantastic experience and would definitely stay again! When getting picked up for our tours, other tourists asked us how we found this property becaue it was so lovely. Truly a gem!"
