Horseback riding is great as well. Scheduling time is 10am and 3pm. Our group had absolute beginners and people who were grown up with horses. Our ride was very smooth and relaxing. There are many little hikes around. But we'd chosen to drive 1 hour to Maple loop hike (stunning views!), Ross lake , and Diablo lake with emerald, teal color--unbelievable! Regarding, COVID, all people on hikes and in the lodge were in masks. Dining is fully available for ordering and picking up. Very pleasant trip and stay. We hope to come back."

The bathroom was fine with a decent shower and the room facilities quite adequate. We stayed in cabin 9 which had 2 beds - a small double and a single, fridge and microwave and air conditioning, which was very welcome, if a little noisy. The outside seating area was lovely and the ice cream shop across the road not to be missed! We stayed on a Monday so couldn't visit Beckies cafe sadly, as it is not open Mondays. There are many walking options from the site but it's only a short drive to Crater Lake and ideal to get an early start there."

A charming whimsical retreat in the High Valley community of Packwood, WA. - this retreat is close to Mount Rainier providing countless hiking opportunities; nearly out of the back door! Cowlitz River access is just across the road and a small walking distance away. There are many dvd movies to watch, CDs for listening & books to read. Build a campfire, look at the stars, read a book, or just enjoy the elk walking by. The house sleeps 2 (Queen bed), 1 on a sofa (if you wish but it is not a hide-a-bed). I love decorating so every room has special touches to make it homey and comfortable. If you are looking for sterile plain surroundings this is not the place for you. It has been decorated as my very own home and it is comfortable warm and inviting! I love Packwood and I love the mountains! Use of the seasonal community country club - pool swimming and golf are available upon request (time allowing for permission slips).

There is a park by a small lake adjacent to my property with a path that goes between the lake and the river. Hiking trails are all around within walking and short driving distances. Access to a full outdoor bath shared with 1 other cabin when occupied. NO DOGS allowed. No exceptions.

The Bridmar Apartments are located in a 1910 fully restored downtown Yakima building. The skylights in the halls are original. This unique space will capture your imagination. It was formally a rooming house for gentlemen. A two-year renovation recreated the space from 33 original boarding rooms to 13 apartments full of character and charm. I've been renting furnished apartments at the Bridmar since 2005.
