The hotel was apparently near some restaurants but I did not venture out. Parking was tricky for me (but not for others) as I was the last to arrive and had to squeeze into the 4-car garage. I think anyone who arrived after me parked outside. Wifi worked ok. I read some negative reviews on sound and location - I agree that the rooms are not soundproof but it did not bother me as I was not trying to sleep during breakfast; and I was not expecting to walk around the area at night (it IS South Africa, after all). All said, a few niggles, but a good experience and I would stay here again if I had to stay in East London."

Gonubie is very easy to get around by car. The nearest Spar (grocery store) is about 2km away. There are other grocery stores, butchers, banks, clothing stores all situated in our little town.

We expect our guests to have respect for our neighbors, as well as for us. We don’t tolerate any drunkenness on the property or any breakage due to negligence will be the guest responsibility to replace.

For those rainy days, we recommend to visit our many shopping malls in and around East London (Hemmingways Mall, Vincent Park or Beacon Bay Retails Park). Here at At One Lodge, we offer excellent self catering accommodation with a host of modern amenities and conveniences. We are also conveniently situated within walking distance of the Joan Harrison Pool, the Guild Theatre, Schools,shops & restaurants, as well as very close to St Dominics and Frere Hospitals.
EACH UNIT IS BOOKED SEPARATELY and has its own entrance, bedroom and bathroom facilities. Each Unit is slightly different. Fish Eagle and Oystercatcher have air conditioners.

The space
Each Unit is slighty different. All Units have built in double gas hobs and all the kitchen equipment required to cook a full meal. They also have full size fridge/freezers. There is a common braai area under a magnificent avo tree. ..a braai and a skottle are availavble for the guests to use.

Guest access
The guest house is attached to the main house where I live with my 3 boys and 2 dogs. The Guest house area is fenced off so the dogs cannot get to the guests.

Other things to note
There is off street parking behind an electric fence and the dogs also provide an added deterant to any unwanted people.
