There are 3 dogs on the property who may visit you from time to time. Mr Benjamin is a Basset Hound who is as long as he is friendly. He will give you a warm and vocal welcome when you arrive. Abby is a three legged springer spaniel who loves belly rubs and always has a tail wagging. Wenzani is a long legged schnauser who is rather shy but the sweetest girl when you interact with her.

As we are in the country, the quality of tap water cannot be guarenteed. It is recommended to boil the tap water prior to drinking.

Note South Africa experiences load shedding where electricity will be unavailable for certain hours. If possible we will let you know in advance what the schedule for the day is.

Secluded house where you can isolate away from people ! This open plan home with fantastic entertainment spaces and unbelievable views is newly renovated! Beautiful holiday home on the banks of the Umzimkulu river. This 12 sleeper is perfect for groups or families who want to spend their holidays swimming, tubing, paddling, running, mountain biking and sitting relaxing on the deck taking in the spectacular view. Brand new kitchen, third lounge and covered wrap around verandah just added.

The space
We have just added a beautiful new open plan kitchen/third lounge / dining area and covered the wrap around verandah!

This lovely double storey house on the banks of the river has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a small kitchen, lounge, dining room and large verandah equipped with a gas braai. The main bedroom downstairs has a queen size bed and a day bed suitable for a child to sleep on. The main bedroom is en suite. The second bedroom downstairs has a double bed. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. Two have queen size beds. The third bedroom has two single beds and a bunk bed - ideal for a kids bunk room. There is also a bathroom upstairs.

There is a playroom off the new kitchen/ lounge with a snooker table and dart board, a full bathroom and a laundry room with a washing room and an additional drinks fridge.

Guest access
The property contains a thatched gazebo as a separate entertainment space. The space is equipped with two trestle tables and chairs.

Next to the house overlooking the river is a small plunge pool filled with river water.

The long grass driveway is ideal for playing cricket. A netball hoop can also provide entertainment for active families.

Our property runs up to Scotstons bridge so has extensive river access. Fishing is allowed subject to trout fishing protocol.

Tubing is also great from the bridge to the bottom of the property. We have a limited number of tubes on site.

For avid canoeists we are situated at the top of the lower gorge. Please bring your own canoes.

There are two tenanted cottages on the property and we ask that you respect their space.

Other things to note
Underberg has plenty of lovely little restaurants and coffee shops to try out. There are plenty of beautiful hikes from Garden Castle, Drak Gardens, Sani pass hotel and Cobham.

The Underberg Spar is 2km down the road and stocks just about anything you need. The Spar also has a fully stocked Tops bottle store.
