Our home is close to everything & is an excellent neighbourhood. 20 minute drive from King Shaka International airport & 9km from the ICC. We are close to Gateway Shopping centre & beaches .... in fact we even have sea views from our patio. We are within in a 5 min walk to the Kensington Boulevard. We are on one of the main roads in Durban North so very easy to find. We have secure off street parking. Your room is spacious & quiet.

This is a large family home in an desirable area. It is close to Umhlanga beaches & gateway shopping centre. 15 mins drive to the harbour, 10 mins drive from the ICC. 5 mins easy walking distance to Kensington Square shopping boulevard & 12 mins walk to the trendy Mackeurtan Drive with an abundance of local hot spots & restaurants to cater for every taste. Large garden with a good sized pool.

Excellent interaction with guests, I am an ex hotelier & understand the need to ensure guests comfort. A light breakfast is included, weather permitting this can be enjoyed on the outside patio with a view of the sea. Breakfast is included in room rate however dinner will be provided upon request at a charge of R70, this will include a local beer or glass of wine or soft drink. Collection for the airport can be arranged at R200 per journey.

Property is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac neighborhood where vehicle access is controlled 24/7 by a manned boom gate. Parking is only available outside of the property on the verge next to your private pedestrian gate entrance.Although it's within an access controlled road and in view of the security boom gate,we can't guarantee your car's safety,therefore parking is at your own risk. Unfortunately there is no parking space available inside.Centrally located between Durban Central and Umhlanga.

The space
The private guest en-suite with shower and toilet is attached to the main house but has its own private entrance through the garden down some stairs. Some noise might be heard through the adjacent walls from the main house during the day and early evening. We have 2 small energetic and playful Boston Terrier dogs on the property that are very friendly, but are weary at first and sometimes jump but are not aggressive or dangerous. The suite is cosy, clean and has all the essentials you need with a large desk to work at with fast WiFi (200mb fibre). A smart HD 32" TV with Youtube and Netflix. The suite has a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle with coffee, tea and sugar, cutlery and crockery, iron and ironing board are provided. There is no stove or cooking facilities besides the microwave toaster and kettle. There is no aircon, but the high ceilings and a powerful ceiling fan help the room stay cool.

Property: Guests have access the to private en-suite attached to the main house and front garden where there is a plastic table and chairs.

Parking: Is only available outside of the property on the verge infront of the private pedestrian gate. Unfortunately no parking space available inside.

Entering: Self check-in instructions will be sent the morning of check-in. Guests will enter through their private pedestrian gate, down some stairs through the garden and follow the pavers to their door.

We are open for long term stays, but guests must please be aware that it is an en-suite room with limited cooking facilities and parking is only available outside of the property on the verge. Guests can chat to us if they want to bring their own cooking facilities such as 2-plate stove or airfryer.

The pool is in full view of the main house and occupied most of the warmer months. Guests are welcome to chat about times they could possibly use the pool.

Other things to note
Please note that no cleaning or laundry services are available on the property. There is a laundromat 4 min/2.3km away (Northway Laundromat). The room will be cleaned and the bedding and towels changed once a week for those staying longer than 7 days.

Gardener Alert: Our friendly gardener, Joseph, tends to the garden twice a week. Don’t be alarmed if you see him; he keeps noise to a minimum when we have guests.

Guest Suite: Our guest suite is built onto the family home with its own private entrance (not shared space). It’s designed like a hotel room, offering all the basics for a quick work trip—Wi-Fi, coffee station, and a work station. We gave the basics - Fridge, TV, microwave, Kettle, airfryer and kitchenette basics ; local shops are just 200m away for a bite to eat.

Long Stay Comforts: If you’re here for an extended stay, please consider booking our cottage on the property. We feel you would be more comfortable and enjoy more space and facilities - the design and layout is for short term stays for short trips.

Extra Clean: If you’d like an extra clean during your stay, we offer this at an additional cost. It includes fresh bedding, a restock of essentials, and a thorough clean (this takes about 3 hours). We do not do personal laundry unfortunately - we can recommend a local laundry Matt.

Spare Bedding: We provide spare bedding at no charge, located in the cupboards.

We do not have pets, a swimming pool or stove. There is a Compact Weber with briquettes for guest use. Best suited for shorter stays, not suitable for disabled persons or small children.
