To get to the swimming pool - many stairs. To get to the private beach - for me was impossible. They said it was 50m from the parking area. That was the longest 50m I have ever walked (+- 500m) Although the walk on the wooden boardwalk was pleasant, an insurmountable sand dune without stepping stones, walkway or even rope to pull on to help with the ascent, prevented me from reaching the sea. :( A handrail at the steps in the pool would also be appreciated. Newly renovated self-contained cottage with its own access, completely separate from the main house. The cottage comprises of a spacious bedroom with a double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, fully-fitted kitchen, lounge/dining area leading onto a covered patio with a private garden and barbeque area. The lounge has a comfortable sleeper couch to accommodate a child.
The cottage has full Cable DStv, Wi-Fi and Air Conditioners. Although Mtunzini is a very peaceful, safe village, there is an Alarm System and secure on-site parking.
The cottage is fully self-catering but there are various good restaurants available locally and a Spar convenience store for all your requirements.

The Area
Mtunzini ("A place in the Shade") is a small, coastal village situated both an hour’s drive from Durban and the famous “big five” Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve.
The village borders on Umlalazi Nature Reserve, home to the rare Palm Nut Vulture and is a well-known Birders’ paradise!
Some activities which may be enjoyed in Mtunzini and surrounds include pristine beaches, calm lagoon with barge trips, mangrove vegetation and safe, natural forest walks. A variety of sports are also available locally (tennis, golf, hiking and mountain bike trails).

There is a weber on wheels or a Boma braai to make most of our wonderful warm evenings.

The house has 2 lounges, one being a TV lounge, DSTV provided. The open plan living area has a large AC. There is a lovely pool. The home is serviced 4 days a week. Uncapped Wi-Fi is provided. An invertor supports most all except the aircons. Please turn off aircons during load-shedding. The kitchen provides a microwave, gas hob and gas oven, a fridge/freezer, a deep freeze, dish washer and all cutlery and crockery. Laundry facilities: washing machine and tumble dryer.

The house is secured by electric fencing and gates supported by armed response.
