All those Units have fridges, 2 plate stoves and beds, only units 2 and 4 have DSTV / microwaves.
Please be aware we in a very rustic rural conservation environment with many trees a small stream and lots of bird and wildlife possible, including Duiker, Bush Buck, Nyala, Reedbuck, Porcupine, money & Dussies etc. .

You will want to bring a few warm cloths, as Hilton is high above the city of Pietermaritzburg so we do have colder evenings and mornings. Please pack towels, soap, toiletries, food and any special cooking items you may require as the units are very basic. The drive way is steep and not suitable for trucks and we only have parking for 1 car per unit. We occasionally have no power or water which can happen without any warning. Please be aware of this. It may be on and off for a few hours or a longer period. Unfortunately the Municipality does not inform of ahead so we unable to provide warnings to you. The units have a battery light and a bottle of water.
Units 2 and 4 have fridges, unit 1 does not. All units have 2 plate stoves and beds
Unit 1 has the double bed, and is in the forest, close to the conservancy
Unit 2 is the only one with a BATH and VERANDA. Unit 2 has the King bed, bunk beds and a heater (room size is 30M), you can park within 3M of this unit.
Unit 4 has 1 double bed and 1 single bed and is under the house, with DSTV. This unit could be accessed via the remote gate IF the usual manual security gate was a problem, if you coming home very late or in the rain?
We can sleep up to 15 guests, BUT If you want 1 guest per unit, we can only sleep 3. If you happy with 2 in a double bed, we can sleep 3 couples / 6 guests. If you have kids and they can sleep in single beds and stretches, we can have 3 in unit 1, 6 in unit 2 and 6 in unit 4 for a total of 15.
PLEASE make sure we have you allocated to the right unit and let us know if we can help in anyway?
We do not provide breakfast, no food is included in the price BUT if you want us to buy anything for you, and place it in your unit in your fridge, please do let us know so we can assist? We charge per person, per child and per animal. We do not charge per unit. Children and pets do not stay free but pay full price.

It is spacious with a kitchenette at the entrance leading to a sleeping area with a king bed and small desk, and a separate room with two single beds. No TV.

The kitchenette has no stove or oven. The kitchenette has a microwave, kettle, small fridge and four sets of cutlery, crockery, water and wine glasses.

The bathroom with shower is off the main sleeping area and there is a smaller, separate bedroom with two single beds.

There are open shelves and a hanging rack for clothes.

The estate has a communal swimming pool within walking distance and a small jungle gym and kiddies swing.
It’s also a lovely estate for an afternoon stroll or jog; safe and beautiful.

We change linen and towels once a week if you’re with us for more than 5-7 days.

A beautiful loft in The Gates, Hilton. A tranquil and quiet spacious studio with a fully equipped kitchen. A sitting area to enjoy your cups of tea or coffee, with bar stools at the kitchen counter where you can partake in your delicious meals made in the fully equipped kitchen. Should you wish to do your laundry there is a washing machine, clothes drying rack and iron for you to use.

Before arrival and after departure the loft is thoroughly cleaned. Should guest be staying for an extended period or require servicing during their stay, additional servicing can be arranged at a fee.

We have a minimum 2 night booking policy with checkin on Fridays but ask us if we are able to welcome you for 1 night stays during the week should this be suitable for the host’s planning.

Our home is situated in a small complex in the centre of Hilton. It is within walking distance to many of Hilton’s shops and restaurants and an easy drive to any other amenity in the village.

The space offers a private entrance to a large lounge, dining room, bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The lounge is spacious and includes a fireplace, coffee station and bar fridge. It became our home and 20 years' later, the view still attracts as much as ever; constantly changing with the seasons and different weather patterns (which, in Hilton, is often!) The story goes that Gateside is the oldest Bed & Breakfast still in existence in Hilton. It has a central location but is tucked away in a peaceful cal-de-sac.

We are a happy bunch with staff who welcome you with friendly smiles. Our aim is that everyone should feel at home and comfortable, whether it's business or pleasure.

Guests have their own private space which is clearly visible. Private access via a door leading from the carport. Guests are respectfully requested not to roam through the rest of the property.

During your stay
I will send you a gate code about an hour before check-in time, so that you can arrive whenever it suits you. I am usually around, so if I see you coming in, I will pop over and say a quick ‘Hi’. After that, I will leave you in peace to enjoy your stay.
You can use the same code for the duration of your stay and to exit the property on check-out. Please remember to leave the keys.

Other things to note
We are located just off the tar road and you will be required to drive along, roughly 500m of dirt road. The property is in a very safe area – crime is practically non-existent. Having said that, it is surrounded by an electric fence and has 24 hour armed response for your peace of mind.

The accommodation side has been sectioned off completely - only the parking is located on common space.
