A romantic hut set on a 22 acre bush block on the edge of Mount Tennerife in the spectacular Macedon Ranges.
Sleeps two people in a four poster queen bed and boasts a unique outdoor bath perched amongst the trees. Sip on a champagne and soak in the tranquility while listening to the songs of the birds.
This intimate glamping experience offers comfortable amenities and an opportunity to experience nature in quiet seclusion. There are no power points, however USB ports are available to charge iPhones etc.
On arrival pop on the comfy shoes and grab your gear to take the five minute downhill trek to the hut, it’s a steep climb on the return trip to your car but great for the heart and well worth the effort.
A five minute drive to the local town of Riddells Creek that has an IGA supermarket for all your supplies, a choice of Thai, Indian, Chinese, Fish & Chips, local bakery and great cafes as well as the Pub all offer great food at reasonable prices.
This is an environmentally sensitive property and consideration must be given to waste and fire management at all times.

Our home was built by a craftsman, our son in 2015. The house is perched on a 22 acre bush block on the side of Mt Teneriffe in the Macedon Ranges. The house is an open plan design with an amazing bush outlook from every window in every room.
The large master bedroom is comfortable with a luxurious queen bed dressed in exquisite linen, wall mounted TV, French doors that exit onto the magnificent deck, an open walkthrough wardrobe and a lovely modern ensuite with a step less shower. Relax in bed to the sounds of the birds and spot the kangaroos feeding on the lawn in the early morning.
The second bedroom also boasts a queen sized bed with built in robes and has a French door that exits onto the deck. The third bedroom has a triple bunk, double bed with single on top and a porta cot if required.
The bathroom is tastefully fitted out with a Blackwood timber bench, a ceramic bath and seperate shower. Laze away the afternoon with a bath and bubbles, open the large bay window to allow more of the bush smells and sounds to embrace your senses.
The kitchen is open plan with modern appliances and fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm. Use the ESSE wood fire stove/heater to slow cook a curry or stew as well as provide a comfortable heat to the lounge in Winter. A butlers pantry provides additional cooking preparation space and a European laundry with washing machine and drier.
The open lounge/dining is furnished with mid century dressers and couches that give the home a unique old world charm.
Large stacker doors open up to the alfresco area where you can cook on the BBQ, keep your beers cold in the fridge and dine at the large dining setting while watching the footy or cricket on the outside TV. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit on camp chairs with a red wine and toast some marshmallows.
All rooms have split system heating and cooling to provide comfort in all seasons and even the coolest and whitest of winters you will be snug as a bug with the double glazed windows and doors and fully insulated walls and ceilings, all beds have electric blankets.
Tour the Ranges to discover some of the famous eateries and wineries within close proximity. Climb the Rock, walk to the cross or be challenged by any of the varied walking trails in the region.
This tranquil and private setting will not disappoint and is guaranteed to provide you with the much needed tree change from the busy burbs.
- "Even though this property is quite close to Melbourne, it really feels like you're in a separate world once you drive up the hill away from Riddells Creek and get into the bush. The house is on a VERY quiet stretch of dirt road, and you're surrounded by beautiful bushland complete with kangaroos, echidnas and koalas (plus three lovely chooks that our girls fell in love with). The house itself was ideal for our family - the layout, facilities and views all came together to so completely relax us that we really didn't want to go anywhere else. Going for walks/runs/bike rides along the road (way from Riddells Creek) is also a highly recommended activity. Thanks Deb and Lyn for making us feel so welcome and for allowing us to stay in your wonderful house."

Check-out
You will find a Check out to-do list on the bench when you arrive and we really appreciate your help with this, as it helps us to keep the costs as low as possible for everyone. Please let me know if you need assistance with these jobs. An additional cleaning fee will be charged if they aren't completed. They include taking out your rubbish and putting in new bin liners, striping the bed and putting used linen and towels in the laundry bag provided, thoroughly washing up your dishes, drying them and putting them away where you found them and leaving the space, both inside and outside, neat and tidy.
Other things to note

The main house on the property is approximately 60m away, and an art studio is approximately 50m away, both are behind the Tiny House. The driveway for the Tiny house is shared with the rest of the property so you may see a car or person walk along the driveway occasionally. We aim to give our guests as much privacy as possible. While the Tiny is surrounded by native trees and there is plenty of wildlife, it is not in the middle of nowhere and you can see other houses in the distance. The access road is approximately 50m away and it has a small amount of traffic, probably more walkers than cars though.
The couch sitting area is utilised by removing the bed linen (you can pop the bedding in the cupboards or the loft area), taking the breaks off the bed banquettes and rolling them out to the sides (then put the brakes back on). Use the pillows and cushions provided as a back rest. If you prefer to have the couches all set up for you on arrival, please let us know by the day before and we will arrange this for you. Otherwise the bed will be all made up for you.
The loft area has a foam mattress that is a few inches thick. It is not a proper sleeping mattress.

You will be self-contained. I live in the other half of Domus Tertius. Except for administrative matters, the only spaces I share with you are the courtyard and the front verandah and garden. I am something of a free agent but do lots of things. I will do my best to organise myself to assist you in whatever way I can. I will regard you as guests in my house, but will not impose or intrude in any way. Where I can, I will pick you up from the station, or the airport, but such arrangements would have to be negotiated in advance. A comfortable bed, a wood fire. Cosy couches. The kitchen is newly renovated, with all you need to cook up a storm, and a glorious kitchen table at which to eat. Step onto the deck into the wide skies of Macedon, walk down to the grassy creek flat or across the road to the grassy woodlands of Barrm Birrm, place of many yam roots. And it is quiet.
The space
The guesthouse was once a cabinet maker's workshop. He wouldn't recognise the place now: an the apartment space, a large yoga room, then the bathroom, and beyond that, the studio space, 10m x 20m of Victorian Ash flooring.
The property is 5 acres, so you have room to move, plus there's the adjacent bushland. I live in a small cottage 30 metres from the studio, but out of view, so we both have privacy.
I've put in place what I expect when I travel: a good bed, warmth, and a fully equipped kitchen. There's a very good sound system, unlimited download on the wifi, and a TV (that I'm still learning how to use).
Guest access
You have the whole space to yourself.
Other things to note
The toilet/bathroom is 8 metres across the yoga room, and outside the heated zone. You'll find a warm dressing gown hanging in the wardrobe to keep you cosy after showering as you make the trip to and from the bedroom.
Our home offers a comfortable stay with three bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with a double bed). You'll have your own bathroom, toilet, and living area. The kitchen and dining room are shared with hosts.
