Only undesirable experience, was the ants attacked our food and kid’s milk. Staff did turn up to clean immediately, but there seems to be ant nest in the room, hence it attacked again. Staff were friendly and courteous. Kudos. Will definitely consider this for our next visit to Langkawi."

They placed us into a top floor suite in their hotel ( which is right next to the apartment building) and offered us vouchers for free breakfast the next day. We really appreciated their gestures. However the room was still dirty, and every night there were small bugs crawling out of the sewage in the bathroom. We knew they gave us a good room so didn't push any more complaints, but was very glad to leave the hotel after two nights."

Our villa (Batu, I think) was clean and spacious, very comfortable and our daughter appreciated having her own room. Good aircon and hot water. We had a kitchen too with a stovetop and basic cooking utensils. Especially loved the outdoor area with dining table, hammock and pull down shades. So nice! We weren’t in Langkawi to do a lot of activities, so the location wasn’t a problem for us. We went out one night for dinner and took a day-trip to Pulau Payar, and relaxed at the villa the rest of our time. Nice pool. They recommend having your own transportation, but we managed fine by taking Grab rides and ordering Grab food. You might need to plan a bit and schedule Grab rides ahead of time from the villa so you don’t have to wait a long time. Would highly recommend for peaceful, quiet relaxation and comfortable, beautiful environment."

The bathrooms did smell very musty, and as we were only staying here 1 night, we opted to just not enter the bathroom and kept the door closed the whole time which was no bother for us. But would have been an issue if staying there a few days. For the price the hotel is a fine choice for a night or two to enjoy the theming of the hotel. But don’t have high expectations for the ‘look’ or cleanliness. I really felt the staff actually cared about the guests and even if cleanliness or attention to detail isn’t their strong suit, they made this single mum feel safe, comfortable and heard. "

- "newly renovated hotel. very suitable for family stay. but the swimming pool water is very dirty." - "We found the building easily to check in but had to carry our luggages up to the second floor as there was no elevator" - "Where do I start. Fist off the location is further out of Kuah. Not an issue for us as we rented a car from the hotel. However when we got to the villa, car park space is pretty tight especially when some other guests park their big luxury cars in a selfish manner. Then the rooms itself. The smallest room has no window. The furniture in the rooms are all the cheapest one can buy. Two out of the three rooms, the bar to hang clothes in the open cupboards were missing/broken. Towels had surely seen better days and no spare toilet rolls around. Had to go ask the cleaner for more. The guy gave some excuse that if they leave spare toilet rolls about, small lizards go in. How and Why? Don't ask me. The kitchen sink was filthy at the escape drainer. Looked like someone with a bad flu had been clearing the throat in there. The bathroom floor water hole cover was located below the sink. I had to put it back. The main room has a bathroom but its so cramped that the shower and WC are so close that one can't really sit on the bog comfortably. Luckily there is another common bathroom which is bigger. There is a microwave but no cooking stove. With the lizard issue (see above) was wondering how clean all the utensils, plates, mugs etc were as they were left ontop of the table with no covering. In the morning 8am, building work started and was noisy right outside the window. And lets not forget the two very large boats rotting in the land space just infant of our villa. An eye sore !"

- "If you like closeness to nature, this the place for you. Squirrels, birds and monkeys visited our balcony during our stay. The glass walled villa offers amazing view of the forest in all four directions but if you prefer privacy, draw the curtains, which we didn't have to use. Given the location, expect some ants, mostly in the bathtub but they don't bite or bother us. The adorable resident dogs do bark intermittently at night so bring ear plugs if necessary. The pics show some of what you can see, ½ piglet, scorpion, my monkey friend, sexy mushroom are all from walks up the highest mountain, a 3h walk. Plenty of tarred paths between the kampungs are easy walks with "pub-grub" local style.
If you are lucky, high tide, rain, (Sept-Oct) you may see when our river behind the house floods.

Langkawi is not the pristine island it used to be. Corals are gone and plastic floats but there are still a few places not made into tourist traps. We know some. People are friendly and food can be good or very good. Like the world over seafood is dieing out but can still be found .
