Be careful of some of the access steps- I have contacted the motel to let them know...they are different depths, so you must navigate them slowly. Reception staff are friendly and welcoming. Cannot fault them making a smooth check in/check out process. Too small issues for me (the showers and the stairs), but as I said- not a deal breaker for us- we'll be back at some stage I hope! "

The cottage is a freestanding building located at the back of our family home with it's own private entrance. We lead busy lives so you may not run into us at all but we are always available to attend to your queries.

The NEIGHBOURHOOD:

Coogee is in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney just 8km from the City centre. Perfectly located between Randwick Junction and Coogee Beach the cottage is truly a home away from home

Coogee Beach is a short stroll away. The beach is well known for its family friendly swimming and its night time party life. There is a lovely children’s playground close to the cottage.

Coogee has many local cafes, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and pubs - you will never be short of something to do during your stay. You can start the Coogee to Bondi Coastal walk from the house.

GETTING AROUND:

Centrally located close to all amenities. Walking distance to Coogee Beach, supermarket, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Walking distance to the Light Rail station which will take you to the Central Station and the CBD. The bus stops are 5 mins walk from the house with direct bus route to the city, Circular Quay, Central Railway Station and Bondi Junction.

HOUSE RULES:

To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following rules:

The cottage overlooks the swimming pool. Use of the pool is not included in the tariff.

No parking on premises. Street parking is free 24/7.

For security reasons, confirmed names for all guests staying at the property is required prior to check-in.

No parties or gatherings of more than the 8 people in the property. Any non-guests must leave by 11:00 pm. And there should strictly be no loud noise after 10:00 pm.

We have no smoking policy, either inside the apartment or anywhere on our property.

Please be mindful of the use of appliances and switch off all appliances when leaving the house.

Refrain from oily or stong odour cooking. An extra deep cleaning fee is applicable to remove strong odour from the property upon departure.

Leave the flat neat and tidy in the same state as when you checked in. The cleaning fees covers change of linen and towels, general cleaning of bathroom , kitchen and hard surfaces, dusting, vacuum and mop upon departure in accordance with airbnb guidelines. If the property is messy or there are stains on walls / carpets / cushions / linens, an extra fee will be requested depending on the additional cleaning or replacement/fixing fee (minimum of $50).

It's so peaceful and yet so conveniently located next to Centennial Park, Bondi Junction and Bronte Beach.

This unique and beautifully renovated terrace was built in 1910 and exudes Victorian charm with its original features, high ceilings and wooden floorboards.

As it’s north facing, you're bathed in all day sunlight and being located on a quiet cul-de-sac that’s lined with figtrees, it’s very quiet and peaceful and evokes that holiday feel with the sounds of the birds and view of lush trees, it’s so peaceful and grounding.

This home is a perfect retreat and offers multiple areas to escape to. With an open plan kitchen and dining area, you can enjoy the company of others while you cook, or if you wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet, you can close the door to the living room and sink into the comfy sofa. Or there’s the front balcony that overlooks the figtrees and gets the afternoon sun.

It’s beautifully furnished throughout and features all the comforts you would expect.

The large master bedroom has a brand new Sealy plush king size bed and generous built-ins and ceiling fan, and opens onto a west facing balcony with comfy lounges. Like all the bedrooms it has a lovely natural light as well as quality blockout curtains to assist in a comfortable nights sleep. The second north facing bedroom has an incredibly comfortable queen sized bed and built-ins and ceiling fan. Both beds are made up with high quality sheets.

The kitchen features a gas cooktop and all the kitchen appliances you'll need plus the food basics. The living areas offer comfortable dining and lounging with their stylish interiors.

The bathroom includes a shower, vanity and toilet as well as a combined laundry of washing machine. We respectfully don’t use a dryer, and have a clothesline.

You won’t need a car when you stay here, as you are so centrally located. But if you do drive, there is unlimited street parking.

For those wanting to get to the beach, Bronte is a 5 minute drive, or alternatively head to Bondi, which is a 10 minute drive or a 20 minute walk around the beautiful coastal walk. Or if you are a park lover, I highly recommend venturing into Centennial Park which is 5 minutes away, or if you want to get amongst it, head to the hip shops of Charring Cross or to the sprawling Bondi Junction both a 10 minutes walk. Or even closer, head to Frenchmans Road (3 minute walk) which caters to your everyday needs and has loads of yummy cafes and restaurants.

Once you navigate the steps down the side of the main residence you’ll appreciate the privacy of this cosy cottage nestled amongst the trees. Unassuming from the front it reveals its cuteness as soon as you step through the door.

Tastefully decorated, the main living area includes a well-equipped kitchen that includes everything you’d need for an extended stay including a free-standing oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. The room is L-shaped and the backdrop is the full-width verandah looking out to the bush, a lovely green view. The dining suite seats 4 and there is a comfortable leather sofa that opens out to a double sofa bed, plus an armchair, a TV and a coffee table. Overhead is a ceiling fan. Out on the balcony there is further sofa seating. Enjoy a coffee or drinks out here while watching the native birdlife.

This is a great location, with Coogee Beach just 1.5km down the road to the east and the cafes and restaurants of Randwick spread along Cook St and Belmore Rd to the south west. There are a multitude of eateries to try, from pubs like The Dog, and Coogee Hotel to take-aways such as pizza, fish and chips, Thai and Vietnamese to fine dining Italian. Get some treats from Tuga Pastries - delicious. Something for everyone!

Coogee Bay supermarket is just down the road or there’s a Woolworths Metro at Randwick. For some retail therapy, head to Westfield at Bondi Junction - the bus only takes 15 minutes - where you’ll find an enormous selection of boutiques. Both Randwick and Coogee also have some boutique stores.

Public transport also includes buses to the city or take the light rail from Randwick.

For more sporty activities, there are some great walks around Centennial Park, along the coast, such as the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk, and a selection of nearby golf courses. If going to the races appeals, Royal Randwick Race Course is very close.

It certainly is a terrific location for a staycation! And with a cute pad to head back to after a day out, Inner Glen is right on the money!

Australia is a tropical country, from time to time you may see bugs, spiders and insects, mostly harmless. We don't accept cancellations on the above but are at your disposal should you need any assistance. We regularly fumigate the property to prevent unwanted pests.

There is also a building boom going on through out Sydney we don't refund for construction noise if anything is going on in the neighbourhood however if there is works being done next door or in the same building we will have a note in our summary.

There is a non refundable 4.5% charge when you pay with a credit/debit card. All guests are required to complete an online insurance / security form before checking in. This step involves uploading an ID and a selfie to verify the booking details. Service fee is non refundable when booking is cancelled. Lost keys or keys not returned to the lockbox is a call out fee of $350. And $1000 for smoking.

The space
A quiet , air- conditioned standard SINGLE room (for ONE Person) with its own kitchenette, study desk and Single Bed. The Room and Common Areas are exceptionally clean, quiet and private.
The Main Original House accommodates approx 15 Single Residents sharing the common bathrooms and kitchen. Most of these residents are long term professionals, workers, students or nurses who work nearby.
All are quiet, responsible and decent individuals who respect the privacy of others.
The room has its own kitchenette with basic cooking facilities including Bar Fridge, Microwave, Cutlery and Crockery.
The Common Areas include : 8 separate cubicles containing 4 toilets and showers with a Vanity. A modern and up market Common Kitchen with Cook tops, Oven, Fridges, Freezers and a huge assortment of cooking appliances. It features a stone alfresco bench with Bi-Fold windows and overlooks a relaxing backyard garden with BBQ and seating under a magnificent 70 year old Mango Tree.
The Guesthouse is well managed, clean and quiet - it is a spacious ,warm and comfortable environment .

During your stay
Jeff manages the day to day operation of the house and resides on site to provide assistance if necessary. On other occasions, an offsite manager is also available.

The house is older style and rambling. Very spacious with separate dining, lounge, bathroom, toilet and laundry.

The room is small and comfortable with nice light. It has a small desk and a screen on the window. It is next to the kitchen. The kitchen has a 10pm to 6am quite time - i.e. no cooking etc during these hours so that the guest may sleep.

The space
My place is an old, un-renovated rental house in an exclusive suburb so budget priced for the location. It is the 'before' version of the house on "Renovation Rescue" not the after, so it definitely will not suit everyone. Please only book my space if this and the description below suits you. If this is not 100% ok with you, please pay a little extra and find somewhere that you will enjoy and be happy. There will be others who are happy to share my space. Leave it for them.

That said, it is perfectly functional. And I like it. It has sheltered me from the crazy high rental market that is Sydney, and allows me to live opposite the park and close to the beach, to have a garden and to meet interesting people from all over.

The furniture is old, collected / rescued from household clean up, and I don't use chemicals in the house except cockroach baits.

It's like a shared house, so there are no locks on internal doors except the toilet and the bathroom. No one has ever had anything stolen in 7 years. Isn't that nice! An international community of trust! I clean the rooms after each guest and I clean the house once a week as I work full time. I like guests who can take care of themselves, who are unfussy and who will take out the garbage and compost if it is full and I am not home.

In the kitchen the cabinetry and tiles are newish (10 years ago) but the lino flooring is old and in need of repair. The ceiling has been repainted but the walls are still waiting on repair. The fridges are in the laundry space which has cement flooring, along with the washing machine and my gardening supplies. You share a large fridge with other guests. The bathroom shower and floor has been re-tiled but we still have the old large iron bath-tub and again the paint is old. The front of the house has tall decorative ceilings. The back part of the house was extended some time in the 70's so is of that era (except the new bits in the kitchen). The back part of the house is a quintessential Aussie home owner's dodgy reno job. It's not pretty but it's functional, some say funky, it's a matter of taste.

The garden is in various stages of growth - it depends on how much I've been working and where in the cycle of vegie growth you stay - seedlings to seeding...... or how much rain we've had. I don't use poisons or sprays so expect a little wildlife - bees, butterflies, moths, wasps, beetles all pollinate my fruiting veggies, grass hoppers, crickets, spiders (they eat the mosquitoes), garden worms, small lizards. The birds visit for the insects, worms, hibiscus and camellias - kookaburras, magpies, indian minors and wattle birds visit daily. The possums like the backyard because we have some trees and some tasty treats in the compost and you may hear them in the garden at night.

We do not have screens on the windows and sometimes insects find their way into the house. There is nothing dangerous, but if you are scared of insects or the occasional spider, this house is not for you. Sometimes the tiny lizzards, ubiquitos to any Australian garden, makes its way into the house. I have had baby possums in my room just this season. I put him back into the ceiling, the next day he arrived at my window to say 'thankyou' and then jumped away into the bushes.

I work full-time shift work so am around variously.

I enjoy guests who treat my home with respect whether I am home or not i.e. do not enter my bedroom or others bedrooms. Do not take food items which are not your own. Respect the neighbours and other guests by keeping down noise on balconies and in the yard early or late. During waking hours is generally fine.

A Washing machine with some Laundry powder is also provided. If more is required please BYO.

There is a wifi connection however please consider that there are speed and downloading limits and if you are a heavy user for work or entertainment reasons, it may fall short of your requirements.

The space
The Studio is located within the property of a peaceful family home, a 1940 art deco character abode, and a tropical garden which is home to kookaburras, rainbow lorikeets, and a family of possums.

We are a family of 4 (parents and teens) with a friendly dog and a sweet cat.

We are on a wide, quiet street and all day street parking (no time limit) is available.

It's an easy flat 15-minute stroll to Coogee Beach and Coogee Bay Road shops - with supermarket, cafes, restaurants, pubs, and bars. Coogee is a vibrant beach known for its nightlife from the Pavilion to the Coogee Bay Hotel.

Bus stops to Sydney CBD / Bondi Junction are a 3-minute walk, and you can walk 10 minutes to Randwick Junction, another busy, vibrant high street with Light Rail station (L2 line) that runs through Surry Hills to Circular Quay. Prince of Wales Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital are also a 10 minute walk.

From The Studio you have easy access to Sydney’s famous Eastern beaches coastal walk from Bondi to Maroubra and good public transport to Sydney’s CBD.

There is no kitchen however, the room has a mini fridge with tea and coffee, and a small air fryer is available on request.

The Studio has separate access via a gate and down a path, so you can easily come and go.

The Studio is a separate dwelling on our property and the outdoor space is very much a part of our home so you will see us around.
