- "We where disappointed to say the least with the condition of the property and very disappointed with the fact it was a basement apartment ( which was never mentioned) on arrival we found it dirty and dark . We had to stand on a chair to open the blinds and stretch whilst on that chair to open the window to let the musty smell out. As part of my working life I have to conduct risk assessment,s with this in mind this is unacceptable We went out for a walk when we returned we wanted to shower before we went for dinner, as I stepped into the shower it was running cold so I reached in to adjust I could not realise hot water I then had to find the boiler it was switched off so I messaged to ask if it was off for safety reasons having no response and knowing gas safety would have isolated it I started the boiler and we had hot water. Having some time we looked more around the apartment we found dirty food covered cutlery and crockery as the bed only had a bottom sheet placed on the mattress we looked more closely no mattress protector also looking under the bed we found dirty sheets. The fridge had dirt in the seal,s the freezer had things you wouldn't expect to find in a freezer all the furniture was old , worn and damaged . In my opinion the flooring has not been cleaned for a long time ( I can get out of a shower at home and with damp feet walk across our hard flooring and not get dirty feet ) it is far from luxury."

Dogs do not have access to rented rooms their owners are not occupying. There are three cats who are also regularly at the property. The rooms are in a bungalow with the room at the back of the property being used as an office Monday to Friday 8.30 to 6.00. The rooms are private and individually lockable.

Located in Macclesfield, our home features a beautiful modern dining area/kitchen which is shared with us. It opens out through bi-fold doors onto a beautiful outdoor seating area and garden. As guests at our home, you will also have your own private bathroom. It is super easy to catch the bus from our house to Macclesfield station or to cycle there. The walk is approximately 35 minutes and very simple. Macclesfield is surrounded by beautiful countryside, including the Macclesfield Forest

The space
You will have your own private bathroom with shower and bath, as well as your private double bedroom. The bedroom has its own kettle, and drawer and hanging storage. Our house is in a residential area, so some quiet traffic noise will be audible.

You’ll also have shared access with us to our kitchen/dining area and the garden. We’re also happy for you to use our lounge area, but ask that you respect this as our area to relax in the evenings after work.

During your stay
We will always be able to offer help to our guests during their stay. Sometimes, if we are very busy with work, we won’t be around to socialise during a guests stay.

Our dogs, Poppy and Amis, are friendly and love people. They may bark when you first meet them but this is an expression of excitement. If you say hello they’ll be very happy to meet you. Poppy, our younger one, is a rescue pup, and does get over excited sometimes when she meets people and jump up and down, but she is very small.

Other things to note
You’ll have your own storage cupboard in our kitchen as well as shelves in the fridge and freezer.

You’re also welcome to use our laundry facilities and cooking equipment. We ask that you always clean all crockery, pans, and cooking utensils after using the
kitchen.

We know the surrounding Peak District area very well, so if you need any recommendations for walks and exploring just ask.

We are a cosy property situated in the heart of a very small village in mid-Cheshire. Our home was built in the 1800's and was originally part of the buildings that made up the local school - hence the name!

We are perfectly situated a short drive from the M56 motorway and within walking distance of some of the most beautiful walks in the UK so whatever your visit, we're sure we have just what you need!

The private room on offer is a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed which you will not want to get out of! We've tried to make the room as self-sufficient as possible so inside you will find:

You will also have access to the sitting room, kitchen, and all the modern amenities you require. If you feel like cooking, please feel free to avail yourself of the kitchen! We've got some hens out back, so fresh eggs are always on the breakfast menu for those who enjoy the taste of country freshness.

There are good transport links to and from all motorways, and you'll also have easy access to trains and buses and airports.
