- "If your looking for an authentic historic log cabin experience the "Old Cabin" will tic all the boxes. This place is warm and welcoming just as soon as you top the hill and see that red roof in the distance. Between 15 mins to an hr drive you will never run out of things to see, do or experience. Or you could take advantage of everything that comes with staying at the cabin. Walk to enjoy the two ponds, go fishing, (bring your own poles or use one of the ones from the front porch) or go to the pool at the campground. Nothing can disrupt your Zen while you're watching the flames from the fire in the LARGE fire pit, that comes with all the wood you could wish for. And Pam, the host is one of the most generous and nicest host that we have encountered yet, out of anyone we have booked with. She is genuinely committed to making sure her guests have the best stay they possibly can have and are lacking of nothing. I recommend to anyone to come and stay at the "Old Cabin". It is beautifully decorated with so many little treasures we were still discovering things we hadn't seen even after staying 4 nights. Look at how it was built and be in awe. Not many of these old cabins built this way are still standing. The beds are extremely comfortable and don't worry about getting cold. Not a chance. Pam has enough quilts up there to cover a small army. We are most definitely going to return as soon as possible..if my 7yr grandson had his way we would be returning tomorrow."

- "We love using vrbo type rentals when we travel. We have stayed in some nice places but Julia's yurt surpasses every places we've stayed. It is spacious, clean, well decorated, has everything you could possibly need. There are frosted mugs in the freezer, a sound machine in the bedroom, the softest towels and sheets. The wrap around deck and fully fenced in property for our dogs was beyond incredible. Waking up with a nice cup of coffee, having the dogs out and watching the sunrise was a highlight of our stay. - "Nice concept of restored vintage trailers but at this time it is a bad joke. Not sure how Expedia qualifies properties but this really should not be listed at this time. No soap, no toilet paper, no kitchen ware, no heat, no water pressure. Walkways are dangerous for seniors. Grounds are unkept with construction and maintenance equipment laying on the "beach". A tractor in kids reach with a pitchfork lying on it. Discarded outdoor furniture and construction materials piled near rental units. Our dog got sick and I hope it was not from any cleaning product or chemical use in or around the trailer.I am going to file a claim with my credit card to reverse payment. STAY AWAY!"

Unique A-frame built on a bluff over-looking rolling hills and the Blue Ridge Mountains. 3 bedrooms and a loft allow for 8 guests to have a dedicated bed. Sit on one of the three decks and take in the sounds of nature. Watch the deer and turkey roam the fields through the binoculars. Listen to the sounds of the Smith River from the front deck.

River's Edge is located on the Little River in Floyd County, VA. Spend the day relaxing or playing in the river. Rent kayaks or tubes, or bring your own and On The Water will shuttle you back to your vehicle. They are just 3 miles away. Town of Floyd is 12 miles away where you can find local restaurants, art galleries, boutiques, and live music. Visit Floyd's Moonshine Distillery or Brewery in town. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 15 miles away for scenic drives, hiking, biking, and winery tours.

We began hosting in October, 2017, and we welcome you to Motel 7 and 3/4 on Bull Mountain about 9 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway (the perfect place for any time of the year) ~~ 6 miles from Fairy Stone State Park... Martinsville Speedway is only 30 minutes away (if you are a racing fan), and we are on the Crooked Road Music Trail also~ Mount Airy, NC (Andy Griffith's home town) and Historic Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway is only a 30-40 minute trip away.

We hope you'll consider Motel 7 3/4 as your "home away from home." Our goal is for your memories to bring big smiles and happy hearts remembering your stay at Motel 7 3/4 @ Grumble Knot. Several guests have commented on the name: When we first opened, we had no TV or internet... so it was" better than Motel 6 but not quite up to Motel 8"- we now have both internet & TV, but the name has brought so many chuckles, we kept it .

We have 15 acres for you to hike (if you are into hiking), all wooded with a trail down to a mountain creek- and you should be seeing deer at this time of year- they often come to drink at the creek. You'll enjoy the outside table & Bar-B-Q area- with a small fireplace (if you're into s'mores) and the trees provide plenty of shade though it doesn't get much above 85* here on the mountain even in the summer.

Other things to note
We walk our dogs every day. (all rescues and/or handicapped and all are friendly) If you love dogs, you're welcome to meet them, join us on our walk, or just pet on them (which they do like!) OR... If you don't care for dogs, you won't know they are here- we do keep them either in the house or in a fenced area away from where you will be staying unless you request otherwise. . And No...the dogs are not available to take home with you...(we've gotten that question several times!)

Our tiny house is beautifully appointed with everything you need to live (and work!) in luxury two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and two miles from downtown Floyd, VA. These 168 sq. ft. have quite the story. I documented it on my blog TinyHouseFamily. Here's an overview:

We built our tiny house as a response to losing our business and subsequently our home in the economic collapse of 2008. That experience taught us that we never wanted to use credit again, so we started saving every penny and set out to build a mortgage-free homestead in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We bought these three acres for cash, put in a well and septic, and built our temporary home: an 8'x21' tiny house complete with two sleeping lofts, a full kitchen and 3/4 bath. We super-insulated it to keep us comfy in all seasons. It housed us well, and we learned a lot from living together in such small quarters.

We moved into the tiny house in May of 2011 and lived there for 4.25 years while we continued to save for and build the main house (the big house) on our homestead. This tiny house took us on a wild publicity ride from 2012 - 2015 starting with an appearance on Anderson Cooper and culminating in a commercial for Nikon.

Now, we live just up the hill from our little house, and seeing it welcome guests from around the world gives us great joy.

When we moved out of the tiny house and into the big house, we began a full renovation on the tiny house. We took out one sleeping loft to expand the feeling of spaciousness in the living room/bedroom and to accommodate a queen-sized bed on the lower level. We painted everything white, installed new oak floors, remodeled the kitchen to include a dishwasher, and added concrete countertops. We are thrilled with the remodel.

We've done our best to think of everything you'll need to feel right at home during your stay.

You will have access to the entire tiny house, front porch and side deck (right next to the tiny house). The front porch has a porch swing, two chairs and a small table. The side deck has a fire pit and chairs. We'll provide you with fire wood.

Other things to note
To our friends with mobility challenges, please note that there is a short inclined walk on gravel from the parking spot to the tiny house.

We have a smart TV, but you will need your own logins for streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. You can watch YouTube, too.

Cell service can be iffy if you have a provider other than Verizon. If Verizon is your carrier, you will have great cellular and data access. Sprint works pretty well. US Cellular and T-Mobile are unreliable, but do have spotty coverage. We do have great WiFi in the tiny house.

The tiny house has a queen bed, and therefore only accommodates two people. Up to two additional guests are welcome to join you and sleep on the tent platform which is right next to the tiny house. The charge for additional guests is $12/person/night. You will need to bring your own tent and sleeping bags.

We are two miles from the only stop light in Floyd County which marks the center of town. Two miles in the other direction, you'll reach the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Fridays are hopping in Floyd. On warm Fridays musicians will line the streets playing bluegrass and old-time music. The Country Store is famous for its Friday Night Jamboree where national and regional bluegrass and old-time acts perform.

The hot water is heated by the sun. The AC and heating systems are run by water circulating through the floor. The skies and the lightening bugs are spectacular here and the wilderness will invite you to visit. Please stay on the trails and do not wonder through the tall grass.

We are a peaceful, loving community with no agenda other than connecting with nature and being kind to one another. The folks living here are are holistically oriented and creatively expressive through various forms of music and art. We eat mostly organic food, we use natural cleaning products, and we live a healthy lifestyle, but there is no particular 'school of thought'.

The space
The space has a small kitchenette, coffee maker, toaster oven, midsize fridge, water cooler with instant hot water, an electric one burner for cooking on, shampoo and conditioner are available, small deck along yoga studio is a great place to sit and listen to the river, access to hot tub and yoga studio when not in use. Fishing in the river is allowed for guests only. Air conditioning is available.
Great views & access to the River and Creek from property. "On the Water" Kayak and SUP rentals 2/10ths of a mile from studio apartment, fishing from property. Walking & biking on dirt roads along the River. Half mile ridge trail behind the studio. Clear, cold mountain creek across from the studio, awesome creek to wet your feet & play, or to sit and listen to the roaring creek.
The water is good, but does have iron it. We have a whole house filter that filters most of the iron out. There's always a 5gal dispenser of spring water available for drinking if iron is an issue for you.

This two bedroom apartment features one queen bed in bedroom 1, and two twin beds in bedroom 2. The living room contains a pullout sofa bed to sleep 2, and a comfortable twin daybed. Total sleeping capacity is seven. Every bedspread is covered with a duvet cover which is unique to most listings that ensures the comforter is clean for a cozy night’s rest. This is a bottom floor apartment that is easily accessible for guests with limited mobility and for bringing in your luggage!

Extras: There is a hairdryer in the unit, as well as iron and ironing board. Some people forget about that until it’s too late, but we have it! I tried to think of all the little things that make a stay more comfortable. There are empty hangers in the closet, and plenty of towels. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc. are also all provided.

You will find the kitchen well stocked compared to most vacation rentals; things that many other places forget, like a wine opener, can opener (electric and manual), chef knives, multiple cutting boards, strainer, and various other kitchen essentials are included for those that want to prepare local fare from Saturday’s farmer’s market. Plus a toaster, tea kettle, keurig, and blender! There is a high chair and Pack N Pay in the closet in the room with the twin beds.

Patty's Place! A quiet country retreat at mile marker 174 off the Blue Ridge Parkway. A literal stones throw from the Parkway! Situated exactly 2 miles from Mabry's Mill, 3 m to Chateau Morrisette, 4 m from Meadows of Dan, 5 m from Rocky Knob, and 15 scenic m from the town of Floyd, you can get away from it all, enjoy the Parkway's prettiest views, hike, explore the quaint & musical town of Floyd, and stay in a comfortable environment... just like Grandma's!

We want you to be comfortable! So we bought amazing pillows of every kind, provide a lot of different blanket options, outfitted the kitchen with all the necessities. We have also an indoor hot tub, pool table, foosball and other fun games. The space
Sunrise will be your cozy private home for the weekend! It is a passive solar earth-bermed apartment with cork floors and warm tones of red, gold, orange and green. The large windows offer a beautiful forest and meadow view. This unique space is set in the midst of the Anahata Education Center, a beautiful green retreat center and nature sanctuary overlooking the Little River in Floyd Virginia.

Sunrise has a queen bed with lots of fluffy upscale bed linens, full bath with shower and plenty of towels, dining table and chairs, and a comfortable sitting area with a futon/sofa and easy chair.

The kitchen has a small refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, toaster oven, electric tea kettle, French press, tea pot, dishes, pans, utensils, etc. We provide coffee, tea, sweeteners, creamer and fresh fruit. You’re welcome to bring any food you’d like to prepare.

Just outside your door are nature trails, a 3-minute walk to the river front area with hammocks, a yoga pavilion, a labyrinth, picnic tables, fire circle, and more. You are a one-minute walk to the main house or “Celebration Space”, where our community gathers. The hot tub on the main house deck is set at 104 - you are welcome to enjoy soaking under the stars! We can help you coordinate a private time in the hot tub with any other guests visiting the facility during your stay.

Highly recommended is a sunset walk along Dobbins Farm Road (heading back out the way you came in), you will see horses, a brand new baby donkey with its mother, miniature ponies, and will be greeted/possibly escorted by friendly dogs. : )

In the warmer months, the river is available for those with some swimming experience. We can facilitate an hour and a half river kayaking adventure for you for $40. The kayaking is lovely, easy-going for the most part, with little passages offering a bit more challenge.

We offer a variety of wellness services, including massage, Reiki,
sound healing, private yoga classes, Ayurvedic health consultations and life coaching. We also offer an amazing half day spa package. If you would like to add any of these services to your stay, please let us know.

Typically, unless we are hosting a special event, you have access to the main house, deck and surrounds, plus the land - which includes river swimming, nature trails, a riverfront dance/yoga platform, beautiful natural surroundings, friendly people. A splash in the river is refreshing, a journey up to the pine ridge is inspiring, or wander about our organic gardens and permaculture landscape. We offer professional massages on site. Kayak trips can be arranged for an extra fee!

Other things to note
This space is often used for retreats. If you are 'on retreat' we give you complete privacy except for whatever services you have requested. See the Anahata Education Center website to learn more! There are interns and community members working on the land/in the gardens, but it's peaceful and it's generally very quiet after 9:30 pm.
