- "If your looking for an authentic historic log cabin experience the "Old Cabin" will tic all the boxes. This place is warm and welcoming just as soon as you top the hill and see that red roof in the distance. Between 15 mins to an hr drive you will never run out of things to see, do or experience. Or you could take advantage of everything that comes with staying at the cabin. Walk to enjoy the two ponds, go fishing, (bring your own poles or use one of the ones from the front porch) or go to the pool at the campground. Nothing can disrupt your Zen while you're watching the flames from the fire in the LARGE fire pit, that comes with all the wood you could wish for. And Pam, the host is one of the most generous and nicest host that we have encountered yet, out of anyone we have booked with. She is genuinely committed to making sure her guests have the best stay they possibly can have and are lacking of nothing. I recommend to anyone to come and stay at the "Old Cabin". It is beautifully decorated with so many little treasures we were still discovering things we hadn't seen even after staying 4 nights. Look at how it was built and be in awe. Not many of these old cabins built this way are still standing. The beds are extremely comfortable and don't worry about getting cold. Not a chance. Pam has enough quilts up there to cover a small army. We are most definitely going to return as soon as possible..if my 7yr grandson had his way we would be returning tomorrow."

- "We love using vrbo type rentals when we travel. We have stayed in some nice places but Julia's yurt surpasses every places we've stayed. It is spacious, clean, well decorated, has everything you could possibly need. There are frosted mugs in the freezer, a sound machine in the bedroom, the softest towels and sheets. The wrap around deck and fully fenced in property for our dogs was beyond incredible. Waking up with a nice cup of coffee, having the dogs out and watching the sunrise was a highlight of our stay. Julia was also extremely friendly and helpful. She responded quickly and gave great local recommendations. We cannot say enough about this rental. We are already planning our trip back for next year. Unwind at our charming hilltop cottage situated on 3 gently rolling acres offering 270° serene mountain and pastoral meadow views. The cottage is located in a quiet, rural community not far from downtown Stuart and Woolwine, with only a 20-minute scenic drive to access the Blue Ridge Parkway, and to shopping, galleries, restaurants and year-round live-music events of downtown Floyd! Spend your days hiking/biking the trails at Fairy Stone State Park, Rocky Knob, Rock Castle Gorge Loop, and Lover's Leap Scenic Overlook or kayak/canoe along the Dan River or paddle on Philpott Lake. You will not be very far from Meadows of Dan. Visit quaint Jack's Creek and Bob White covered bridges nearby and shop at several local farmer's markets. Our cottage has been renovated throughout and is well-appointed for comfort and style. Its location is rural, but not quite remote and can serve as a perfect home base for outdoor or music/art enthusiasts, yet cozy enough to settle down when you are longing for a tranquil pause from life's business. If WIFI is a priority, we encourage you to check with your internet provider to verify that their service extends to the Stuart/Woolwine area. There is no Wifi available at the house. However, our Verizon phone signal is strong. So, if you are with Verizon, you may reliably use your phone's Hotspot feature should you choose to remain connected to the rest of the world. Once you experience our mountain views, we are guessing you may decide to disconnect for a bit with a glass of something from our local wineries, breweries, or distilleries. Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the front porch overlooking our apple orchard. Greet cool morning sunrises in your Adirondack chair out back with a quilt and cup of coffee. Picnic with the kiddos in our private playground area at the back of the property complete with swing, sandbox and play equipment. Look for bluebirds, wild turkeys, Red-tail Hawks, Barred Owls, Pileated Woodpeckers, deer, and even a black bear who occasionally ventures out from her forest cover to steal an apple or pear in season. Everything inside the cottage is new. Beddings and linens are fine hotel quality. We promise, you will not want to leave.

The next day we made it to the property and were greeted by a welcoming gift: fresh fruits from their backyard trees. We ate them while sitting at the small table in the back yard with only the company of the puffs of clouds skimming across the mountains. It was total peace. And that is what we encountered during our stay in this small, comfortable and spotlessly clean cottage. The owners have put a lot of love into this place and it shows. All the internal features and fixtures looked new and updated, and the kitchen was well supplied with appliances and utensils. The bed was very comfortable and quiet and we slept with opened the windows for the cool late-September breeze to drift through. Our host was extremely responsive to our communications, and she also compiled a detailed notebook full of directions and suggestions for activities. Our only complaint would be to clarify the instructions for locking the door. It took 2 PhDs about 30 minutes to figure out that the lock required not just to "Press any key" but that key also needed to be HELD for several seconds. In summary, we really loved this place (have stayed at maybe 20 VRBOs so far) and hope to return here during better weather for a much longer stay. "

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Meadows of Dan, Virginia. Our stylish and fun `cottage` takes glamping to a whole new level. The open-concept living and kitchen area make the most of the long, narrow floor plan and the small, but cute bathroom features a tub/shower. Stargaze far from city lights and relax in our thoughtfully appointed bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed and fresh, clean linens.

Our kitchen is well-stocked with cooking essentials and guests can enjoy grilling on the gas BBQ on the back porch. The large yard space provides plenty of room for outdoor activities and there is a fire ring, seating, and cafe lights on the gravel patio in the back.

While our cottage is a glamorous single wide mobile home, it has been given a lot of love and attention. It may have a few dents and dings on the exterior, mostly paneled walls, a narrow floor plan, and slightly lower ceilings, but the cozy and comfortable interior makes up for it. Guests have access to the entire home and are welcome to explore and enjoy the surrounding yard space.

Meadows of Dan is a quiet country town, with the Blue Ridge Parkway running through downtown and the world-renowned Primland Resort nearby. Wine lovers can visit the two wonderful nearby wineries, Chateau Morrisette and Villa Appalachia. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted to discover multiple nearby waterfalls and hiking trails, including the historic Mabry Mill and the town of Floyd, home of Floyd Fest, and Stuart, known for its road biking opportunities, are just a short drive away. With so much to see, do, and explore in our beautiful mountains, our cottage is the perfect vacation destination.
Just a few reminders:
1 - Pets allowed with permission, MAX 2 dogs, sorry NO cats.
2 - Absolutely NO Smoking of any kind
3 - Please do not move furniture
4 - Keep it clean. When you leave it should look the same as you entered, with the exception of bed linens and towels
5 - Remember it`s our home, so treat it with respect
6 - The grill is propane.
7 - Bring your own wood and marshmallows for the firepit.

- "Cherry Creek Cabin is tastefully renovated and appropriately appointed. It is quiet, private, and conveniently located a few minutes from Meadows of Dan. The space is small but efficient. We were able to cook a nice Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen as it was well-outfitted with the equipment needed. While we didn’t spend a lot of time outside, there is a grill and fire pit area for outdoor relaxation. The owner is very responsive to questions and concerns, and they provided us with information about the area before we made our trip. I recommend this property, and I’d consider other properties owned by Buffalo Mountain Getaway in the future. "

Introducing the Star Brook Garden bungalow. Literally, just feet off the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway, US 58, Floyd, Meadows of Dan, Hillsville and Stuart. This adorable cottage is welcoming with its front porch swings, rocking chairs and firepit. There are maintained trails on the property that can be enjoyed by all. With a babbling brook to enjoy, you`ll also find a herb garden that you can help yourself to. And you have to meet the chickens and Tootsie the miniature pig.

- "Nice concept of restored vintage trailers but at this time it is a bad joke. Not sure how Expedia qualifies properties but this really should not be listed at this time. No soap, no toilet paper, no kitchen ware, no heat, no water pressure. Walkways are dangerous for seniors. Grounds are unkept with construction and maintenance equipment laying on the "beach". A tractor in kids reach with a pitchfork lying on it. Discarded outdoor furniture and construction materials piled near rental units. Our dog got sick and I hope it was not from any cleaning product or chemical use in or around the trailer.I am going to file a claim with my credit card to reverse payment. STAY AWAY!"
