Welcoming and well loved older house centrally located in Haast township
House
Haast, West Coast, New Zealand

Welcoming and well loved bedroom House in Haast township. This is an older house with quite a lot of quirks but is very comfortable and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. It is a work in progress needing on going work, so please be mindful of this, we have actually lowered our prices to reflect this. For example, the windows are old wooden ones that are better not to be opened as they are sticky and do not run smoothly, if windows are needed to be opened, please open only the windows with insect grills on them, those open without difficulty. In time we will replace the windows with new ones. But our absolute priority is the comfort and satisfaction of our guests so even though it is an older house , you are assured to have a comfortable stay.
The house sleeps 6 people easily, 8 people if the top bunks of the bunk beds are used. There is one Super King size bed, one Double bed and two separate Bunk beds.
The house is well appointed with, Microwave oven, Clothes Washing machine and Clothes Dryer as well other standard appliances (Fridge, Stove/Oven, Toaster, Kettle etc). I am sorry, as of 27/12/24 the Dishwasher is out of order until it can be repaired.
The house is a great place for a group or couple to base yourselves while you explore the Haast area. It is close walking distance (under 5 minutes) to the local Grocery/General store and the Hard Antler pub which serves Meals. Also a bonus is the house is surprisingly quiet and peaceful, being situated on a no exit street.
The house is also a close 5 minutes walk to a lovely walking and cycling track that takes you right to Haast Beach and back, mostly through beautiful native bush, a 5km walk, 10km round trip.
It has a nice warm log fire for those cold evenings and heaters are available in the bedrooms to keep you toastie warm during the colder months.
Update! We have just had Wifi installed! So you are now fully connected with the world (also have very good mobile coverage at the house). And to top it off we have also purchased a brand new Smart TV which allows you to watch all your favourite shows at your leisure.
We are looking forward to hosting you at our little slice of paradise!

Guest Reviews:

- "Exactly what we required for an overnight stay, comfortable, warm, fire was ready to light and plenty of wood. Nice home away from home!" - "Everything was as it showed on the listing. My friend with us described it as a cool house. It had everything we needed. A short walk to shop and the Hard Antler. Would definitely stay again. " - "House was just as advertised very homily with plenty of room, the weber BBQ was excellent to use. The weather was great no rain, you do have to open only the windows with the insect screens to avoid the sandflys, but the owner has plenty of notice to that effect."
