The internet can be temperamental due it being on the old copper network.

Living room: The space is large and lofty, with a two-story high cedar wood ceiling, beachy white floorboards and coastal decor. There is a queen bed upstairs on a mezzanine floor and a sofa bed downstairs. Please note that the bathroom is down the stairs from the bedroom.

Dining: This guest studio is like a peaceful rural retreat away from it all. That includes cooking! There is no kitchenette, sink or microwave. What you do have is a full-size dining table and a dresser filled with plenty of tableware for your drinks, nibbles and takeaway. There is a sweet retro mini fridge (no freezer), a kettle, toaster and Nespresso machine.

Sunrise: The Loft bedroom faces due east. Depending on the time of year, the sun will either rise out of the sea right in front of your eyes while you lay in bed, or, in winter, will peek out over the adjacent hills. It's very inspiring, and cloud patterns can create some sublime colours in the Kaikoura region, but it is early in the summertime! In case you don't find it romantic ;-) … we can provide you with a brand new complimentary eye mask. Just mention it.

Our home is nestled near the end of the peninsula, in a peaceful and quiet cul-de-sac with no through traffic—perfect for a relaxing getaway and safe for children. Enjoy being within walking distance to the beach, scenic peninsula walkways, and the seal colony. For dining, shopping, or exploring, the Kaikoura town centre is just a 5-minute drive away. It's an ideal location to unwind while staying close to local attractions and natural beauty.

Parking
The property offers plenty of parking options:

• A long driveway runs up the left side of the house.
• A spacious area in front of the house provides convenient off-street parking.
• A small space on the right side of the house is also available.

We also own the mostly empty section next door, which you’re welcome to use for parking, provided the ground isn’t too soft (unlikely in summer). This space is perfect for parking boats or letting children play. Keep in mind, any guests at our other house will receive the same advice, so the area may be shared.

At the rear of the empty section are some shipping containers—one is ours, and the others belong to our neighbour, who owns Hunting & Fishing. Occasionally, you might see people accessing these containers.

Street parking is also available if needed.

Just a short walk or quick drive to the heart of town, we’re conveniently located near Kaikōura’s top attractions — including the world-famous whale watching tours, dolphin and seal encounters, kayaking, coastal walks, and local dining spots.

The space

Easy, access to our studio units, with free off-street parking in front of each unit. There is even room for your boat.

Guests can message via Airbnb and one of our friendly staff will answer asap.

Our managers live on-site to help you with any queries you may have.

If the office is unattended there is a bell to press which will alert someone to come and help you.

8.30 am - 10.30 am
2.00 pm - 8.00 pm

NB: If you require urgent attention if our office is closed you can ring the bell or phone, and the manager will be alerted and come to your aid.

We do have contactless check-in from 2.00 pm if guests prefer or can be welcomed by one of our friendly staff at check-in from 2.00 pm.

Our staff are locals and have extensive local knowledge. We are happy to provide recommendations and information and gladly answer any questions you have.

We live in an Eco-friendly town and are passionate about taking care of our environment. We request our guests recycle and keep their waste and rubbish to a minimum, thus looking after our beautiful town.

The studio has a new heat pump installed which will keep you warm and cosy over the cooler months and provide cooling during the warmer months.

Our eMotel means you won't need to check in with reception on arrival. Instead you will be sent a unique access code, which is then used via a keypad to allow self check-in for your travel convenience.

If you would prefer to to check-in earlier or wish to check-out later, please let us know upon booking and if possible we’d be happy to accommodate you at a small cost. Our standard check-in/out times are 3pm/10am.

There are no parties or large gathering allowed at this property.
