There is a awesome little succulent garden inside and is a great place to sit and sip your coffee or get takeaways and bring them home to Pohutukawa Villa's garden.

There is a dairy down the road in Te Awanga along with a fish and chip shop and a pub and a coffee van. Also in Clive which is ten minutes drive, there is a gas station, vege shop, chemist, great pub and various other shops for your convenience.

Cape View Villa has stunning sea views to Cape Kidnappers, Napier, and across to Mahia. The beach and Hawke's Bay Cycle Trail are right across the road. Further along Clifton Road are Elephant Hill Winery, Clearview Winery, and Te Awanga Estate Winery for wine tasting, platters, and meals.
The villa has recently been renovated throughout and has a new kitchen and ensuite bathroom. The huge deck with BBQ and outdoor furniture gets all day sun, as does the house - winter and summer - which makes for a cozy, warm house. Our enchanting beach front home is in a peaceful location, half way between Hastings and Napier. Lovely neighbours and very dog friendly. Wander through the garden to explore the beach, enjoy the sound of the waves or walk to the river-mouth. You can hire bikes nearby from coastal wine cycles, to visit the local wineries like Clear View and Elephant Hill or to Hygee the great cafe at Clifton. Or if you're feeling energetic, cycle along the coast to Napier. We are right by the cycle trail. If you wake early you'll enjoy beautiful sunrises. The house has a log burner if you would like a cosy fire. If you feel like sitting around an outdoor fire and maybe toasting marshmallows we also have a fire pit in the garden. Hawkes Bay is a beautiful place to explore.

- "Lovely place, clean and tidy, well equipped. If you are not the best sleeper, be aware the fire station is just down the street and the activation alarm can go off often at any time to alert volunteers to come to the station. This is day or night. Over the w/e it went off approx 8 times. However we did get used to it and it just goes off long enough to make sure vols around can hear it, but for those sensitive to loud noise/light sleepers, maybe bring some noise-cancelling ear plugs for overnight. Otherwise the property itself has a lovely charm. One other point, one toilet made it a little harder for 4 adults (but still ok for us being family). We left the door unlocked at night so my sister and hubby in the bunk beds could use over night. "

Our home is on 2 levels and we live up-stairs. The location is one of the best in the Hawkes Bay region, being situated on the banks of the Clive River and with direct access to the very popular cycling and walking trails.

2 dogs and a cat share our home, but a gate keeps the dogs away from visitors if so desired. The cat (George), well he's a cat and they have a mind of their own.

Our pool is open for your enjoyment as well (pool currently closed for winter 2024)

The accommodation is upstairs, a spacious room and a king bed with en-suite. A shared guests lounge with kitchenette, microwave, fridge, dining table & chairs plus a couch and chairs. The deck has small table and chairs for outdoor dining and a small front lawn that guests have full use of. There is off road parking in front of the Tiny Home for guests to use.

Our 3 bedroom clean and tidy home is your peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the outside world! Downstairs, the dining and kitchen area is compact and low maintenance with electric oven, stove, heating and cooling. Two cosy bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower over a wee bath provide your simple staples for comfort. Upstairs is the master bedroom complete with lounging space and a small ensuite. Outside is our separate living/rumpus room for hanging out, reading or watching a movie, playing the piano or table tennis or darts! We have a selection of children’s toys and books too. The wash house is also separate and is equipped with washing machine, drier, clothes horses, a large freezer and extra fridge space. The garden is our highlight with a spacious flat lawn surrounded in native and tropical plantings providing shade, bird life and relaxation!

Lawn Cottages in Clive is a wonderful place to stay, with 6 separate self contained cottages set in 1ha of gardens around mature gardens with ponds. We are 10 minutes to Napier and Hastings, so midway and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. First night breakfast provisions (eggs, bread, milk, butter and jam) are provided.

Pohutukawa cottage built in 2019 is 2 bedroom 2 bathroom with a full kitchen including dishwasher, oven and cooktop and full size fridge/freezer. Outdoor furniture and BBQ sit on a private deck looking out to a private garden area.

Your Cottage is accessed by the Guest Driveway which is named. Our grounds are laid out so that each cottage has its own picturesque area but are still handy to each other. A guest laundry is available for your use. There is also a hooded bbq with each cottage.

We have renovated this home with love and are continuously making improvements and adding thoughtful touches to compliment the integrity of its era. You will have full access to our charming Villa. Our four bedrooms each include bedding, a television with Freeview, blackout curtains and are configured as follows:

Bedroom 1 - A super king with its own private bathroom.

Bedroom 2 - A queen and king single with trundler, with easy access to the main bathrooms.
This room also includes a funky upstairs loft - a quiet space for kids to relax fitted with a smart TV and couch seating.

Bedroom 3/Master - The largest bedroom in the house has a super king bed and king single with trundler, a private ensuite, couch and French doors which open up to a sun filled deck with outdoor seating.

Extra floor mattresses and bedding is available for additional paying guests on request.

Our modern kitchen has a beautiful view which over looks our grounds and is fully equipped to accommodate for large groups. We have two lounges for guest use, both with wood fires. The first is open planned and features a large television with SKY TV, and the second a quieter space for guests to relax in, including a bar and a selection of books.

Our spacious main bathroom is designed for relaxing and includes a large dual head shower, luxurious freestanding bath tub, bath salts and complimentary Ecostore toiletries.

Laundry facilities are available for guests use, and include a washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.

There are lawn games to suit everyone and a trampoline and children's swing on the front lawn for guests use in clear view of the kitchen and lounge area, for easy supervision.

Other things to note
Pets welcome on request. Please note, we do not allow pets in accommodation during peak periods.
Our friendly Shar Pei Scooby also lives on-site. You may see her floating around from time to time.

4 x adult mountain bikes and 2 x kid seats are also available for hire, including helmets and locks.

We have a High Tea set available for guests use.

Weekly and monthly guests are serviced weekly (change of sheets and full clean included). Monthly guests also pay for electricity/gas consumption. This will be invoiced separately.

The space
Our more compact option with guests still enjoying all the benefits of our high-quality facilities, furnishings, linens, lovely garden views, and an new cedar hot tub, for your exclusive use. This 2-bedroom villa also offers accessibility and is suitable for walkers.

Cook at home in the spacious kitchen which has a microwave oven, two hobs and fridge. Enjoy a summer barbecue in the private rear patio where you can see Te Mata Peak in the distance.

The two private bedrooms share a full-sized bathroom with a tiled, accessible, walk-in shower.

This is our family home in a quiet, safe cul-de-sac & we welcome you to bring your family to enjoy it too.
Relax & unwind on the sunny deck with views to Te Mata Peak. Large open plan kitchen/living/dining with a large seperate lounge room. Access to the Weber BBQ along with the spa pool provides all you need for a family get away.
Very kid friendly - fully fenced, trampoline, swing and play house.

The space
Four bedrooms:
- one with super king bed and ensuite.
- two with king single beds and single trundler beds
- one with a cot but can put a trundler bed in here if preferred.

Gas fire and aircon heat/cool the home.

Use of the smart tv including Netflix and sky is included along with wifi access.

Clive is only 12 minutes to Napier, Hastings or Havelock North.
We are a short 500m to Clive river where you will find a walking/running/biking track to wander along.

Guest access
Access to the whole house apart from the garage (which has the laundry in it). There is a laundromat just down the road that is easy to access and use.
Parking for two cars off the street is provided plus room on the road if needed.

Modern home in Clive, between cities of Hastings, Havelock and Napier - 10 min drive each way!
