Brand new 3-Bedroom house with off-street parking at the end of a cul-de-sac. Central location close to river walkways, supermarket, speedway, A&P Showgrounds and race track. Our 7 bedroom ex convent is a full Bed and Breakfast with a delicious continental breakfast served at the time you request. Please note: this is hosted accommodation. We live in a semi- separated part of the house and so will come through from time to time to clean bathrooms, collect laundry and service the areas. You have your own 4 bathrooms (2 shower rooms and two toilet rooms) , lounge and kitchenette and 7 bedrooms. The laundry is a shared space.

Stratford is a very convenient place to stay in that it is an easy drive to both Dawson Falls Visitor Center (25 minutes) or the Mountain Ski field and carpark at the end of Pembroke Road (20 minutes) , the many properties that are featured in our popular Garden festival and our wonderful attractions in New Plymouth
Our Lodge once was the local convent, home to the Sisters who used to teach at the local Primary School. As such, you will enjoy eating or relaxing in our Chapel dining room with its stained glass windows and high pitched ceiling.

Our kitchenette is mall but is packed with good appliances.There is a fridge, microwave, electric jug and most of the cook ware you need for the 2 ring hob. An electric frypan and a toasted sandwich grill are in the cupboards. On the bench is air air fry oven and an expresso machine can be taken out from under the bench. One empty cupboard with two shelves is available for storage of a small amount of packaged food.
Our one level house is easy to access from outside for those with disabilities but not easy access into the rooms for wheelchairs as doorways are narrow.
There is free carparking on site and a camera looking over the carpark and entrance door is turned on during your stay.

We have UV filtered spring water, 5.5 acres of rolling hills with deer, pet sheep, chickens, wild quail & pet starlings

There is private access to your room with a very comfortable king size bed, couch and 42" tv & BBQ. A tiled ensuite with generous shower, and a large kitchenette with combination microwave/grill, double hotplate, small fridge & nespresso machine. Self serve breakfast is included.

You will wake up to the tuis playing in the kowhai tree outside your door, and the chickens waiting for their breakfast.

The room is very private, self contained and recently renovated. There should be everything you need and if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask us.

There is a combination microwave/grill but no oven.

You have a large patio outside your door with outdoor dining, comfortable seating and a luxury spa pool with hydrotherapy massage jets.

Please ask if you would like to do some laundry, we can provide you with some laundry powder. We do ask guests to limit to one wash / day. Our dryer is in the garage so we can access this for you if required.

Guests are welcome to wander through the property and its 14 paddocks. Gumboots are recommended. We have some you can use, just ask.

We have deer, who are always in one or more of the paddocks. Please do not enter the deer paddocks as they can be dangerous and frighten easily, especially around birthing and mating seasons.

You are welcome to feed the animals. We will provide some treats for all of the animals on your arrival and you can feed them when you wish. Both the sheep and the chickens will eat from your hands.

The pond area is lovely and we occasionally have ducks visiting. The pond is not suitable for swimming.

There is an orchard on the property, all of the trees are summer fruit.

We're just upstairs so just pop upstairs and knock on the door.

We have a natural spring water supply. The spring water passes through three filters and is UV treated. It is excellent drinking water, better than most town supplies.

Do not drive through fields or paddocks to park near the Tiny House. This damages our pasture and risks your vehicle’s safety. Our farm has active livestock that may cause damage if vehicles are parked improperly. We cannot be responsible for any vehicle damage caused by disregarding these instructions.

- While we welcome children, please note that parental supervision is essential due to electric fencing, large farm animals, steep gullies, creek, and fast-flowing culvert to ensure their safety.

- "The interior of the tiny house is lovely, however the pictures on the listing cleverly avoid showing the surrounding area. There are no trees or fences to provide privacy from the main house, the contiguous cabin or the hiking track that runs through the property. The .main house is barely 10mts away, we could here music coming from it at night. The other cabin is a mere 2mts away and the walking track barely 3mts from the cabin. We had to close the black out rolling curtains once we realized walkers were looking into our window directly at us in bed. Same goes for toilet use. You pretty much are in a glass display box unless every curtain is down. The bbq is shared use, there are no mountain views from the property and the front yard had all sorts of things lying around such as roofing iron, a wheelbarrow and even a pitched tent. All in all we felt like we were in a trailer park/junk yard, but in a nicely put together caravan. It was difficult to get in touch with the owners, most replies were automated messages and the person in the property merely manages things for them. We booked 2 nights, stayed for one since we had arrived late and left the second day. We are still waiting to hear back to arrange a refund."

Properties have been cleaned prior to guests arrival to meet the Ministry of Health commercial cleaning standards. A part end of stay cleaning service is included. We are very close to Mt Egmont/Taranaki with the road leading up to the eastern plateau car park, just 200 meters away from our home. Here you will find a variety of tramping tracks including the summit track. Great views are to be had from the car park looking across to Mt Ruapahue and the central plateau region. Stratford town is named after William Shakespeare, with most streets named after characters and places in Shakespeares plays. New Zealands only Glockenspiel, in the center of town, plays a performance from Romeo and Juliet daily at 10am, 1,3 and7pm. The Forgotten World Highway 43 is nearby which is a heritage trail through pioneering history and remarkable landscape, 155km long between Stratford and Taumarunui. Also Surf Highway 45 will take you on a beautiful coastal drive around the western side of Mt Taranaki to the town of Hawera.

Each day is very different. I am very involved in activities around the community but love to be able to assist. I particularly enjoy playing board games such as Catan, Splendor, Dominion and Clank.

Walk to beautiful rivers, the park, aquatic centre, cafes, bars and town. Mount Taranaki is about 20 minutes drive, choose either East Egmont (Dawson Falls side) or the Stratford plateau side for lots of short or long hikes.

The space
The bedroom you will be staying in has a queen size bed, bedside drawers, and a wardrobe if you need more space. There is a heat pump in the hallway and a portable heater for your room if required for the Stratford winter chill😁 The house is basic but clean and you will notice a few spots where renovations are being finished. There is no major renovations so the house will always be quiet and peaceful in that respect. I sweep every day but occasionally miss the odd hair from the pets especially the border collie so please let me know if I need to take care of the pet hair😊

Many guests enjoy coming to stay with us because they know we have over 50 board games, mostly suited for teens and adults. While many are classics we also have Splendor, Catan, Clank in space, Dominion, Carcassonne and Star Realms. Rosanne likes nothing better than to teach how to play a game. There may be a damage deposit charged for her most special games.

Newly renovated Private Studio (approx. 18 sqm plus deck) with comfy bed, kitchenette, with microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle etc, ensuite bathroom and private covered deck. Separate from main dwelling, and off road parking right outside your door. Ideal for a single or a couple. Peaceful, with a lovely rural outlook from deck but just over a km to Stratford’s Main Street. We usually only have it available on week nights but let us know if you need a longer stay.

The space
Upon entering Puawananga BnB, Guests have access to facilities provided in their Wing. The Snug provides a quiet relaxing reading area, or the opportunity to watch television. The bathroom is sizable, complete with Spa bath and handrails in need. The Kitchenette is equipped with dining facilities, cutlery/crockery, microwave, fridge, washing machine, with the clothesline being in a shared outdoor area. The Queen bed and linen is of very high quality.

Guest access
Along with the Queen bedroom, Guests have access to the outdoor Patio, Snug, Bathroom and Kitchenette. Guest access is initially via Front Entrance with further access thereafter via Kitchenette. Both of these areas are for your exclusive use.

During your stay
I will be available to offer help throughout your stay and will provide cell phone number prior to check-in. Alternatively if I am occupying my wing of the residence, a simple 'call-out' is all that is required.

Other things to note
Communications will be made prior to check-in, advising of lock code number for key-lock box positioned to right of front door. I will be contactable by cell phone if any issues arise. Please do not hesitate to make contact.

After a relaxing start to your day you'll be ready to explore the sights & sounds the taranaki region has to offer. Welcome.

The space
The cottage is a 36 square metre space. Access to the bi-fold door entrance is up two steps. It has a separate bedroom & separate bathroom. The bathroom is also where you will find the washing machine. The rest of the space includes an open plan lounge, dining & kitchen area, where you have electric hobs & convection microwave/ oven as well as other cooking options. Outdoors is a deck with outdoor dining area. The lawns & gardens are shared spaces.
PLEASE NOTE: Hot water is connected to a gas bottle, so, if suddenly you find you have no hot water, let host know so that bottle can be switched to secondary bottle.

Guest access
There are three areas that are off limits to guests, which are the main house, and two spaces either side of the cottage which have no access signage.

Other things to note
Although you are not to take photographs of the Main buildings, you may take photos in the garden, on the proviso that they are not posted on social media or used for commercial purposes. You may share these on private sites with family & friends.

Set in the heart of Taranaki - Cordelia Cottage is a great place to be. Shakespeare festival, exploring our beloved Maunga or any of of the many festivals and activities Taranaki offers, this is a great place to base yourself from. Cordelia Cottage can host up to 6 people.
