The one acre garden was included in “Great Gardens of New Zealand” by Derek Fell. Other than the big tree on the cliff edge the established garden has been created by the resident owners over 32 years. Heat pump with air conditioning. Insect screens if needed. We are surrounded by the bushy bank down to town, and a grassy historic Maori Pa area that has beautiful old trees from the late 1800's. There are cows across the road, and sheep up the hill. All you will hear is the ocean surf and the native birds.

This property features a motel-style layout, while offering separate, private amenities. This particular room does not have a Seaview, however the ocean is just across the road.

However the roof/floor of the second story is very thin and we heard children stomping on the roof in to the late hours of the night. The shower drain was blocked and the shower experience was similar to being peed on. There was what I hope was dog poo in the car park area which was slightly off putting and there was a random hair ball near our front door when we checked in. Also recommend taking extra blankets if you're not used to the colder months in Kaikoura. Overall got what we paid for and for the price point am likely to stay again but we wanted to be fully open and transparent in this review. :)"

The space
The studio is sun filled, modern and stylish with added character and a boutique feel.

A well equipped functional kitchenette with a fridge, stovetop, microwave and bench top oven.

Open plan living, large smart TV with Freeview, Netflix and Youtube capabilities. We also supply unlimited internet.

A patio area with awesome mountain views and access to a shared BBQ area and coin operated shared laundry room. You also have access to your own undercover car park.

The studio has a new heat pump installed which will keep you warm and cosy over the cooler months and provide cooling during the warmer months.

Our eMotel means you won't need to check in with reception on arrival. Instead you will be sent a unique access code, which is then used via a keypad to allow self check-in for your travel convenience.

If you would prefer to to check-in earlier or wish to check-out later, please let us know upon booking and if possible we’d be happy to accommodate you at a small cost. Our standard check-in/out times are 3pm/10am.

There are no parties or large gathering allowed at this property.

Our very spacious one bedroom apartment is downstairs under our house with its own entrance and spacious patio to enjoy the view of the garden and distant mountains. Tea , coffee and milk are provided upon arrival.
We are 2kms from the town center , 3.5kms to Whale Watch therefore if you are arriving by bus or train and walking our accommodation may not suit you 😊
We are 2.8kms to the Seal Colony and Peninsula Walkway. On the way is the Original Seafood Caravan which is very popular.

The space
Our driveway does run alongside the apartment being your bedroom and lounge. Our internal stairs from the garage to our upstairs home runs alongside the guests dining area , you will hear us at times but we do try hard to keep the noise down. You will probably see us coming and going but we are aware of your privacy and at the same time are available to answer any questions you may have or just have a chat.
The kitchen has a two burner ceramic hotplate and microwave with a SMALL BBQ outside on the patio, the BBQ would not be suitable for a large cook but with 2 people staying it is normally adequate. All seafood is to be cooked outside or alternatively your catch can be taken to Coopers Catch and they will cook it well for you at a minimal cost
There is no washing machine or dryer but Kaikoura does have a laundromat if needed.
