Private studio set on a quiet street,within 5 minute walking distance to restaurant/pub and the famous wilderness cycle trail,and 5-6 minute walk to the Tasman sea with views of Mt cook.
It is located in Paroa which is a 6 minute drive south from Greymouth.

It was perfect for what we needed … quiet, open, and near enough to Greymouth for groceries and meals, but not so close that we felt we were in “the city”. Our home is 'on the beach' and is situated midway between Greymouth and Punakaiki. We offer a self contained unit on the ground floor of our home. The beach is just a few steps away and is great for walking. Punakaiki is 20 minutes from the house, Greymouth is also 20 minutes and Hokitika airport is a 50 minute drive to the south. Greymouth offers a range of eateries and there is a pub and hotel in Punakaiki. We are situated on state high way 6, which is well known for its spectacular scenery.

The space
We offer a self contained unit on the ground floor of our modern near new home. There is a full kitchen with an oven and cook top - but there is no microwave.
There is one sleeping space with a queen bed, plus the couch in the living area can pull out to provide a bed for an extra guest.

Guest access
As well as full use of the self contained unit, guests can use the garage area for drying clothes or the outdoor clothesline.
On a nice sunny day there are a choice of places to sit in the garden (bring insect repellent with you). Indoors we have scented candles which repel any insects.

Other things to note
Our home is 60 minutes south of Westport and it is a three hour drive south to the Glaciers.
The Pancake rocks and blow holes are a must see at Punakaiki and Shanty Town just south of Greymouth show cases the West Coast in early times.
If you like beer, then Monteiths Brewery in Greymouth offers tours of their craft beer making facility (including tastings) and you can also have a nibble or meal there.
A day trip to Hokitika and a drive out to Lake Kaniere with its stunning bush back drop and onto Hokitika Gorge with its beautiful blue water provides another sight-seeing opportunity. Hokitika has many places to eat and a range of tourism focused shops.
