- "It was generally clean, uncluttered and child-proof and very accommodating and comfortable, and outside was also child-safe. We were disappointed to find that it was not entirely as advertised (no master bedroom with amenities, no bath), but we enjoyed our stay and it fitted our purpose. My daughter and son-in-law, the grand parents, live near Anakiwa on Queen Charlotte Sound, and her elder son, wife and three children, 10, 7 & 1, lived in Blenheim, with the younger son flatting with them. Their older sister, husband and two children, 5 & nearly 1, were due to come from England for a month’s visit over Christmas, with the grand parents, with me invited too. But… the Blenheim older son got a new job near Ashburton just before the visit, too far and inconvenient for young families. I checked the internet and saw your accommodation - family approved, done, and it all worked perfectly, with separate accommodation for the travelling groups to settle between visits. The parents had time to talk and the young cousins to get together (and the infants were so entertaining!). The weather cooperated, too! Alas, I wasn’t able to communicate with you away from home, as it seems my email must be connected to my Wi-Fi in Taranaki. I arrived home today. Reasons for ‘stars’ and omissions, not explained so far: cleanliness - dirty frying pans and roasting tins. We cleaned what we needed; potato chips on floor by one bed."

The Studio at Northfield is located next to the original 1914 homestead (see separate listing for Northfield luxury accommodation) but provides you with complete privacy.

The property is set in 4 acres of gardens and paddocks, so has a beautiful outlook and peaceful feeling, and yet is only a short 10-minute walk to the bars & restaurants in the center of Methven.

The Studio is a purpose-built studio-apartment with a comfortable king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom and open plan living/dining/kitchen area. The space is bright and airy with stylish decor and luxury fixtures and fittings. Comfy leather sofas, a 49" tv with Netflix and complimentary Wi-Fi are provided for your relaxation.

The kitchenette includes a hob, microwave, fridge and Nespresso coffee machine. In the bathroom, towels, bathrobes and luxury bathroom products are provided to make you feel right at home. Complimentary teas, coffees and treats are also provided.
