The Blue Bach is located 12 miles north of Greymouth. It is centrally located to a huge variety of places and activities including the Punakaiki blowholes, Paparoa track, Fox River Porarari Walks, various beaches and attractions.
The bach is an open plan living space with a large back bedroom which contains two single beds and one queen size bed behind a partition. The front room has a king size bed. Seascapes, the closest house to the Pancake Rocks, is right beside the beach. Light pours in from windows all around the two-storey home, with a different view from every aspect. Look west and there’s the Tasman Sea, to the south the Pancake Rocks and to the east towering limestone cliffs.

The kitchen/living room area on the upper floor is open plan. It has everything you need for whipping up a meal – oven/stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, rice cooker and fridge/freezer. It opens out on to a deck with a barbeque, the ideal spot for watching the sun set over the sea. Look carefully and you might even see the famous green flash.

The living area also has a tv with Sky TV, a DVD player and DVDs. Downstairs there’s another deck at garden level. There’s access to the seaside via a garden path.

Seascapes has four bedrooms. The main house has a master bedroom with queen bed and another bedroom with twin beds. Fold out beds are also available on request. The garden cottage, tucked alongside the main house, has a double room and another with two single beds which can be made up as a double.

Located close to the rugged west coast beach if you fancy a stroll along our unique shoreline and across the road is the coastal wilderness cycle track that spans a fair bit of the west coast coastline. If you ask nicely we even have a couple of mountain bikes we will be able to borrow you to go for a ride. There is a great local family restaurant and bar and also the local dairy across the road too. If you feel like relaxing and just having takeaways there is also the famous in Greymouth 4Js Fish and chip shop with in walking distance.
The guest unit is separate to the main house and is located at the back of our landscaped property. You access guest house by walking up main drive way and going through gate at left of main house and the guesthouse is there at the back of the section.

It was perfect for what we needed … quiet, open, and near enough to Greymouth for groceries and meals, but not so close that we felt we were in “the city”. Comfortable bed, small but well-stocked kitchen, and a very up-to-date bathroom. You have to carry luggage up the stairs, but it’s easy. Parking was easy. Treescapes is a brand new two-bedroom house nestled in native bush looking out to the Tasman Sea. Situated just one kilometre south of the Punakaiki River it’s ideal for Paparoa Track bikers and trampers, road trippers, families, or small groups.
The house has an open plan fully equipped kitchen and living area with a large covered deck, perfect for outdoor dining. Both bedrooms have queen beds, and one also has a wooden bunk set. All linen and towels provided.
A track at the back of the house winds up through the garden to a wooden seat for sunset gazing Another short track across the road takes you through regenerating bush to the beach. There you can fossick for pounamu. Treescapes is also just up the road from the only mainland breeding colony of the tāiko (Westland Petrel).
The house is double-glazed and has a fire. It has a washing machine and outdoor drying racks. Free wifi.

Lagoon Road Home-stay is a lovely self contained, private unit which offers Free WIFI. It is within walking distance to the local convenience store and restaurant. It is also a short walk or drive away from the beach where you can enjoy a walk and watch the beautiful West Coast sunsets

This self contained unit has a comfortable queen size bed.
The kitchenette comprises of a sink, kettle, toaster and microwave. We provide essentials for you; tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and cereals which are there for your convenience.
You can avail of the complementary shampoos and shower gel while using the modern shower. There is a heated towel rail in the bathroom and we supply fresh towels.

Lagoon Road Home-stay is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac. It is situated at the front of the property, with ample parking. It is a short walk to the nearest access to the beach and the West Coast Wilderness Cycle Trail. Shantytown Heritage Park is a 5 minute drive from Lagoon Road. At Shantytown you can ride a steam train or pan for your own gold.
if you wish to dine out locally, the Paroa Hotel has a bar and delicious restaurant and is also within walking distance. There is a convenience store which also serves yummy fish and chips.
It is approximately a 10 minute drive into Greymouth town where you can enjoy some lovely cafe's and restaurants or take a tour around Monteiths Brewery. We are happy to make some recommendations, just ask!

For those travelling on the great TransAlpine train from Christchurch to Greymouth, there are a number of well known car rental companies at the station.

Set up for simplicity and privacy next to our orchard and front paddock you can unwind and get back to basics, but with comfort and character.
There is often a few sheep in the paddock and sometimes the horses will be around for Golden Sands Horse and Wagon Tours that we also run.
Located just eight minutes drive South of Punakaiki, and just a kilometers walk or drive from the beach.
Mattress is firm but comfy with two toppers on it.

The space
This is a tiny house so it is cosy, but also very comfortable.

It is off grid but has a great 24v solar system so you shouldn't notice anything different.

It also has a composting worm farm toilet, you won't notice anything unusual but we ask that you don't flush anything plastic or toxic to protect our worms and keep things running nicely.

There is a double bed with comfortable room to get around both sides, a heater, and in this room there is a very basic kitchen with fridge, gas hobs and a sink.

Folding chairs are available to take outside.

Just outside is a separate bathroom with shower, sink and loo.
Note that you may get wet if it's raining, traveling the three meters between the buildings 😁

The immediate area and front yard is available, please park in the wee yard or as directed, as for a short time, once a day we may need space to get the horses ready for a wagon tour.

Nearest shops and petrol stations are in Greymouth or Westport so it's important to bring supplies!
Punakaikai has a couple of cafes and restaurants, bookings are recommend in the busy season.

Our home is 'on the beach' and is situated midway between Greymouth and Punakaiki. We offer a self contained unit on the ground floor of our home. The beach is just a few steps away and is great for walking. Punakaiki is 20 minutes from the house, Greymouth is also 20 minutes and Hokitika airport is a 50 minute drive to the south. Greymouth offers a range of eateries and there is a pub and hotel in Punakaiki. We are situated on state high way 6, which is well known for its spectacular scenery.

The space
We offer a self contained unit on the ground floor of our modern near new home. There is a full kitchen with an oven and cook top - but there is no microwave.
There is one sleeping space with a queen bed, plus the couch in the living area can pull out to provide a bed for an extra guest.

As well as full use of the self contained unit, guests can use the garage area for drying clothes or the outdoor clothesline.
On a nice sunny day there are a choice of places to sit in the garden (bring insect repellent with you). Indoors we have scented candles which repel any insects.

Our home is 60 minutes south of Westport and it is a three hour drive south to the Glaciers.
The Pancake rocks and blow holes are a must see at Punakaiki and Shanty Town just south of Greymouth show cases the West Coast in early times.
If you like beer, then Monteiths Brewery in Greymouth offers tours of their craft beer making facility (including tastings) and you can also have a nibble or meal there.
A day trip to Hokitika and a drive out to Lake Kaniere with its stunning bush back drop and onto Hokitika Gorge with its beautiful blue water provides another sight-seeing opportunity. Hokitika has many places to eat and a range of tourism focused shops.

Conveniently located; location is walking distance to the rugged beaches of the West Coast. Penguins, seals, hector dolphins and native birds all call this distinctive part of New Zealand home, while surfers revel in one of the South Islands premier surfs being Cobden and Blaketown Tip Heads.
Only minutes walks to the local bars, restaurants, supermarkets and Westland Recreation Centre. The Wilderness Cycle/Walking Trail is minutes away and a short drive to the famous Punakaiki Rocks.

Coming off the bedroom on one side is the toilet, and on the other a kitchenette with mini fridge, jug, microwave and sink. Coming off the kitchen is the bathroom with shower and basin. Our water is hot and good pressure thanks to our newly installed gas califont.
