We live in a quiet cul-de-sac in the small town of Amberley,servicing a busy rural and winery community, great place to stop before heading south or north. Our check in time during the week can be by arrangement depending on work commitments, please message me via Airbnb. This bedroom is in our home.
At present we are not providing breakfast but can by arrangement with myself at an extra cost. Amberley does have several cafes open in the early morning who provide breakfast menus.

The space
The bedroom is beside your own bathroom and separate toilet. The bed is an antique brass bed with cotton sheets, woolrest underblanket and feather/down duvet. Also an electric blanket for those cold nights. An evening meal can be available Saturday and Sunday at an extra cost, please enquire.
An additional note, we have a scented room diffuser in the guest room, please if you have any respiratory issues we can remove from your room prior to your arrival.

Guest access
Our guests are able to access the kitchen to prepare packed lunches, and living, dining and lounge areas., but no cooking in our kitchen.We have fridge space for any food you may wish to put in. You can also use the wash machine and dryer for a small charge.

During your stay
We are available for our guests to offer our knowledge of our local area and further afield. Our guests are welcome to spend time talking and sharing their travel experiences with us.

Other things to note
While staying with us our 3 adult sons may call in, they love meeting our guests and enjoy having a chat with them, our oldest son has a wine distribution business in Wellington and if home loves chatting about our wonderful New Zealand wines, and two younger sons work in the rural industry managing farms, sheep and beef farming.
We live a 1 minute drive from State Highway 1, only in a Nor West wind do we get car travelling noise, it’s not constant or loud.

At our place you have privacy with your own private access. Two bedrooms each with outside access, one has a queen bed, the other has a king single with a pull out trundle bed. There are tea coffee facilities with a microwave and fridge. A light continental breakfast is available daily
We are 35 minutes from the city of Christchurch but close to the country. Restaurants, cafes and a supermarket close by within 10-15 minutes easy walk. Just over an hour to the thermal area of Hamner Springs

The space
As you park your car or arrive by bike you have a private pathway leading to your bedrooms. Opposite the bedrooms are Two small courtyards with chairs to take advantage of any warm weather. ( always hopeful of that)
Access is via the two bedrooms, and there is a small room between them where there is a tv on the wall, sitting space and tea coffee etc. This is where you will have breakfast in the morning, just help yourself to what is available. Your private bathroom is off this room, just for you and your guests.

We offer a complimentary self help light breakfast available in your fridge consisting of yoghurt, cereal, fruit, bread, jam. In your private space is a table and chairs, fridge, microwave plus tea coffee facilities. We can let you know where local restaurants and takeaways are in close proximity to our house.

The space
Dedicated Airbnb space consisting of a private wing of our house which includes a bedroom with a king size bed with a Sleepyhead Swisstek mattress, electric blanket and a private ensuite.
Doors opening through to the sitting room with Woodsman Serene Petite log burner and 2 sets of doors opening out onto a private verandah.

Tea and Coffee making facility.

There is access to a separate kitchenette/studio area which you have exclusive access to for the duration of your stay. This opens out onto the central courtyard.

Discover the charm of Rose’s Corner, a showpiece garden nestled in the heart of Amberley village.

Your private bedroom is located downstairs, adjacent to your own bathroom and separate toilet. The room offers a serene view of a secluded garden area featuring a relaxing spa pool.

Guests have access to the entire ground floor of the house, including the lounge, living, and dining areas, as well as the kitchen (no cooking).

A delicious breakfast can be arranged for an extra fee.

The space
The bedroom is downstairs and is beside your own bathroom and separate toilet. It looks out on a secluded garden area with a spa pool for your private use.

The room has a comfortably furnished Queen bed with cotton sheets and feather/down duvet. It also has an electric blanket for those winter nights although the house is heated by a heatpump and a logburner.

Guest access
Access to the house is granted through a combination lock on the front door.

Guests are able to access the ground floor of the house – lounge, living, dining, kitchen (no cooking).

We have an extensive knowledge of the Hurunui and North Canterbury wine region.

Rose is a keen gardener and Geoff is a keen fly fisher.

We are happy to share our local knowledge, point you in the right direction and listen to your stories.

Other things to note
Rose's Corner is one of the gardens participating in the Hurunui Garden Festival which is held at the end of October each year. Small and tranquil is our headline.

The garden featured in the July 2023 edition of the New Zealand Gardener magazine and photgraphs of our lovely garden are also included in Phil Thomsen's book "The Practical Kiwi Gardener".

Rose is a passionate gardener and is a member of the Hawarden Waikari Garden Club.

A stylish, warm environment that overlooks the garden. Located in central Amberley it is within walking distance to amenities (several excellent cafes and restaurants, a supermarket, several shops). If you have a car you can explore the multitude of award-winning vineyards and restaurants in the region, along with several local beaches, golf, local ski fields in winter, or a day trip to Hanmer Springs.

The space
JungHwa and Chris fell in love with this house – the Old Vicarage – due to its local history. Located behind the church, the house itself is an Amberley icon.

Your separate studio bedroom is located up some stairs beside the house overlooking the picturesque grounds.

Relax in the studio which comes equipped with two single beds, its own bathroom – shower and toilet – and coffee and tea and a kettle; also a toaster, refrigerator; microwave and cooking hot plates, and basic kitchen supplies (plates, cooking pots, and pans, chopping boards, knives, cutlery, oil, salt and pepper, sugar, wooden spoons, etc). The studio also has a table and two chairs inside.

Note: Remind especially for a couple! - There are two single beds. You can be pushed together to make a queen. But the beds-level is a bit different and there will be a bit of a gap between them :)

You may park in the driveway, once you have passed the church gate. Please drive slowly due to the children who may be playing outside.

The space
There aren't too many Post Offices offering accommodation in New Zealand, however this historic building is now in private ownership and had been lovingly restored to offer a memorable experience for travellers to Amberley. Many features suggestive of it's previous function have been retained whilst creating a modern and comfortable place of rest for the holiday maker.
There is space to spread out. Nooks and crannies abound for quiet reflection, reading, writing and browsing. Enjoy a game of pool or chess, or just laze away the day in the private garden under the deck umbrella.

I don't charge cleaning fees so I would really appreciate it if you can leave the property as tidy as possible when you check out.

A lovely clean and tidy home with everything you need for your stay. The upstairs lounge has a lovely view of the ocean and from the backdoor only a few steps to the beach. A great spot for fishing and surfing . A lovely place to just relax.

Welcome to our tranquil oasis in the centre of Amberley.
As you come through the gate you will feel transported into a completely different world, surrounded by beautiful natives and blooming cherry trees (in season).
This character filled cottage was originally built in 1903, it's full of charm with many modern additions.
The garden is very private, so much so that you can unwind and relax in the outdoor bath under the stars and no one will know.

Please note there is no television. There is a large screen with HDMI cords and chrome cast.
If you wish to watch something during your stay, please come prepared with apps such as netflix, tvnz etc. downloaded so you can enjoy these at your leisure.
You must be connected to the house wifi to cast to the screen.

The outdoor tub is a vintage bath, it is a suitable size for 1 person.

There are blinds with cords on several doors and windows. Please supervise small children.

Gracious 1875 historic home has been a staging post hostel and a large farmhouse.
Climb the rimu staircase to either of two spacious queen-sized rooms which each have private modern bathrooms. (booked separately) An extra room has two single beds and a cot for children or extra guests.
A few minutes drive and you're in the Waipara wineries with great restaurants; or on to Hamner. Amberley has fine coffee shops and a Saturday morning Farmers Market.
