Ellie was amazing - from welcoming us personally at the house to giving us advice on things to do and even introducing us to the Project Lead for the area’s Blue Penguin conservation project (yes we got to see penguins too!) The house is sunny and warm, well equipped, and centrally located, allowing for a restful, social and/or activity-based holiday exploring the Abel Tasman National Park or wider Tasman region. Two double bedrooms, one bunk room (six beds) and an office with two mattresses helps ensure everyone can have their own space. There are also two bathrooms (one on each level) and a laundry in the double garage.

This property has a unique mezzanine floor, with mattresses which would be suitable for children if supervised. The access to the mezzanine is by a purpose built ladder.

The kitchen, living and lounge area is open plan and opens up onto a large deck through large sliding doors.

The Space

Kaiteriteri Beach House is a large, modern two bedroom home that has all you'll need for a great holiday.

You'll be greeted by a large parking area, perfect for those with a boat or a couple of cars. Through the front door you will find the a modern kitchen and living area with all you'll need, including a Nespresso pod machine for that morning coffee fix (please note the coffee machine takes the large Vertuo disk pods, so please bring your own as they aren't available in Motueka). Grab the weeks groceries before you arrive as the house has a large double door fridge and a separate drinks fridge. Also included is a dishdraw dishwasher. The large breakfast bar seats six while the large leather lounge suite will also accommodate your group. Chill out with a book or watch Netflix (use your own login). Please note we don't have terrestrial TV however casting/mirroring off your mobile device works fine. The living area includes aircon for those hot nights.

There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed while the other has two sets of bunks. The house comes with full laundry facilities. The large garage includes a table tennis table and a double kayak (with life jackets) and is available for your use.

Outside there is plenty of outdoor furniture on the deck to enjoy the ever changing water view, so sit back and relax while the kids have fun on the brand new springless trampoline.

If you want to take a walk, the house is situated only 80 metres, via the properties private access, from the Lagoon (the closets house to the Lagoon by foot) and approx. 300 to the Kaiteriteri shops and beach so you can leave your vehicle behind.

Turn right off the Riwaka-Kaiterteri Road and then a hard left onto Rowling Lane which consists of three houses. Look for 1b and the house with the bright red front door.

House guests have full access to the site, however please note there is also a Studio Unit that is located behind the garage, that is totally separate, and with its own facilities and parking spot.

After parking your car in the dedicated carpark, you'll grab your key out of the lockbox and open up to a functional and well stocked room with a queen bed, a couple of comfy chairs and a kitchenette that provides all you need. The kitchenette itself includes plug inhot plates, a toaster, a jug, a Nespresso pod machine, and a fridge freezer. Please note, it doesn't include an oven or microwave.

The bathroom has all you'll need too with a modern vanity and toilet and for all you adventurous people out there the shower is outside the front door, so will be great in the summer but could be invigorating in the winter!

Also outside is the deck with a BBQ and outdoor furniture where you can sit and enjoy partial water views.

- "We had a fabulous stay at the Beachfront Playground this week. We stayed with 2 families, 4 adults and 5 children and could easily have fit the grandparents in aswell. It’s very spacious with lots of seating, a huge kitchen, big bbq and deck with plenty of seating around a large table to soak in the stunning view and watch the kids all playing below. The house had everything you would need, well stocked kitchen, laundry, kids games and toys, a music speaker, and garage full of kayaks and life vests. It was very clean and has air conditioning for hot nights. We liked that there was plenty of toilet paper, baking paper and glad wrap, dish powder, rubbish bags etc so you don’t have to go out and buy absolutely everything when you are not staying that long. We went fishing a few times, explored the rock pools and looked for mussels and had lots of fun kayaking at low and high tide. The area truly is a playground for all the kids. The huge lawn was great for cricket and soccer and playing spotlight. It’s just a quick drive over to Kaiteriteri beach which is just stunning and the estuary is so perfect for the kids to play and swim in. We would definitely come back. The owners live off-site but are occasionally on the top level of this house. The holiday unit is located on the lower level of the house and is your own private space with its own entrance. Your co-host Bridget lives nearby and is available to contact if required.

You'll have plenty of garden space with an outlook over the native bush. The unit has a kiwi ‘bach’ feel - it’s an older style home and is clean, tidy and cheerfully decorated. There is a comfortable queen bed in the roomy main bedroom, a double bed and single bed in the second room, a small shower room and a separate toilet. In the cosy lounge/dining area there is a TV with, freeview & chromecast option along with unlimited wifi. The food preparation area is simple and very compact but includes everything you might need - a microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery. (Please note that the kitchen sink acts as the bathroom basin also). Outside, there is a BBQ on your private patio. It’s set up for you to relax in our peaceful garden and enjoy the all day sun.
Three popular restaurants are also within walking distance if you prefer not to cook.
