Oamaru is a beautiful coastal town with it's own distinct character and attractions. With a ready supply of Oamaru Stone the early settlers built many beautiful buildings from the Oamaru stone with many of these buildings having luckily escape demolition in the years that followed. About the 1980s some began to see the beauty and historical value of these buildings and over time they were restored and the old buildings were slowly given a new life and varied purposes. Orla s Cottage is a 3 bedroom historic Oamaru Stone workers cottage built in 1906 and is just a few hundred meters from central Oamaru, the Victorian Precinct and numerous restaurants.

We have respected the original features in this home while adding modern comforts to make your stay truly unique to the Oamaru region.

Each bedroom has been beautifully appointed with high quality accessories and local historical treasures. The beds are all Hotel Grade beds with luxury mattress toppers, NZ woolen Duvets and locally made NZ merino wool blankets.

The interior Oamaru white-stone walls have been retained exhibiting original saw cuts and claw marks created in the quarrying and building process.

Being a restored original cottage the living areas are compact whilst the bedrooms are large with high ceilings.

Hello! Don't miss out our lovely house set up on the hill with 180 degrees fabulous sea view! Our newly built deck provides a perfect space for you and your family and friends to enjoy the view.

You can access the deck through the french window of the living room. We have three spacious bedrooms. There is a large window facing the sea in the master bedroom, so you can enjoy the same sea view as you can from the deck. We have two super king size bed in two rooms, the third room is provided with two single beds. Also we have sofa bed for the extra guests to stay with. We provide free unlimited fiber wifi for the guests.

We live 2mins away from the house, so we will be there in time if needed. We can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Malaysian.

Our home is set up for you to enjoy with everything provided to make your stay relaxing, including heat pump for those cooler moments.

For a two bedroom home, its roomy, wth ample space including dining room, large lounge and sunroom facing north to catch the all day sun. Set amongst mature gardens with good flat parking, in a quiet neighborhood. The Oamaru Gardens are just 400m away, The Warehouse 500m, Countdown 700m and Victorian Precinct 1km. it is indeed close to everything including the bus to/from Dunedin, 700m down Eden Street.

If you like walking its easy to get around Oamaru. The last part of the walk to our home is up a short hill, but the view more than makes up for the extra bit of effort :)

This is an older home with plenty of character and a welcoming feel. The shower is over the bath, but the warm scope heater and carpet on the floor make it a pleasant experience :). Our place is located on a quiet street. It has three bedrooms and one bathroom, separate toilet. Spacious living and dining area with access to a deck and a balcony.

Little cosy on top of South Hill. Very close to the Oamaru lookout point, if you like to for a walk, there is a track can walk down to the second beach. And not far from town, only 3 minutes drive to penguin colony and whitestone historical area, 5 minutes drive to Countdown or New World.

We do have 2 bedrooms, which can take up to 3 guests. Two bedroom with queen bed and dresser, and the third bedroom have a double bed and a set of desk and chair, which can be used as an office.

The room we offer is bright and sunny at the front of our property. The bed is Queen size. There are no cooking facilities. Restaurants, supermarket & takeaway places are nearby.

Unlimited WIFI is available, and Sky television (including sports).

Off the main room is a small bathroom. The unit is completely separate to the main house, so your privacy is guaranteed.

Additionally, in our family we have Jeremy, Shannon and 2 children aged 16 & 18. We also have 2 dogs and 2 cats on the property.

We offer Freeview television for free, but if you wish to upgrade to Sky television (including sports) you can do so for an additional $10 a night :)

The hot water cylinder is a small one, so if more than one person is going to shower they will need to be quick. It does only take about 20 mins to reheat again,

Welcome to Rose Cottage, a peaceful farm studio less than 5 minutes drive from central Oamaru.

Our newly refurbished studio is modernly fitted out with a comfortable Chiropractic King size bed, air conditioning, a stunning on-suite with shower, a 32" smart wall TV with Netflix and kitchenette to ensure a luxurious stay.

The space
Rose Cottage is located at the rear of our property, based on a part rural lifestyle block.

The cottage backs onto a grass paddock where farm animals graze. From the patio you will likely see sheep, cows and a pig.

In addition to the sheep we also home two friendly dogs, a cat, chickens and a rooster.

The room perfect for couples, single travellers, or friends/family not minding sharing a king size bed. It is designed modern farm style, with a hint of our Oamaru quirk.

The room is equiped with a kitchenette, there you have the basic cooking commodities, a bench top oven, microwave and electric fry pan. I supply a splash of milk, various tea's, hot chocolates and coffee.

If you are an animal lover wanting a touch of a rural experience this is the stay for you.

Guest access
Guest access to Rose Cottage is through our shared yard. Our dogs roam this area, so we request guests ensure the gate is closed behind them. This is the only aspect of the property which is shared, the Cottage and rear patio you have all to yourselves.

Our preference is that guests do not come to the main house or wander through the garden or paddocks please.

Other things to note
Please note we do have two friendly dogs and a cat. While they are not allowed in the cottage, they may get nosey and want to meet and greet you. Please leave the Cottage front door closed to avoid unwanted entering by them, and please do not feed them anything as they have strict diets, nor leave rubbish or your shoes on the shared patio.

Regarding internet access, please note Oamaru does not yet have access to Fibre. The property is a VDSL internet setup which can be unreliable. I have done all I can to improve the internet connection to the cottage, but if you require a stay with super fast internet, unfortunately, I cannot promise this service.

Please do not book Rose Cottage if you don't like animals or dislike the potential of being woken by animal noises.
