This large 3 bedroom Log House is an ideal escape to the mountains. It is located in the township of Glenorchy - Gateway to Paradise and Mt. Aspiring National Park.

This large 3 bedroom Log House has been specifically appointed for your comfort - comfortable U Shape Couch, 3 Comfortable Super King Beds, 1 King Bed, 2 Bath Tubs, and fully equipped kitchen. The yard is fully fenced which is great for families and for privacy as there is now a home on one of the sections next to us. There is underfloor heating throughout so is a warm home to visit in the winter months. The home is walking distance to the lake, restaurants, pubs, cafes, and shops. There are only a few of each as Glenorchy is a small town.

We also supply basics such as tea, coffee, soap, a few rolls of toilet paper, cooking oil, salt and pepper, spices, etc...

This wee gem is an experience to say the least.
You have to be capable of some "back to basics" living. By this you have to boil water to do the dishes and there is no washing machine but there is a Laundromat in town if you don't wish to do your washing by hand but be rest assured you will be cosy.
If you suffer from vertigo this is not the nest for you to stay in as everything is on wheels which creates movement.
"Wee Widja" is a mix of solar, power and no power so I suggest you bring a torch for when you hop from A to B but never fear for I am near should you need help in any way.

Glenorchy township is a brisk 5 minute walk so you are close to all it has to offer.

Studio unit in a great location - walk to the lake front in just 10 minutes! We are right at the start of the Glenorchy Township.

The space
A bright and cosy studio unit attached to our home. The space is not shared so you will have this unit all to yourselves with all your own amenities. We like to leave our guests to enjoy their stay but we are next door in case there is anything you need!

Guest access
The studio unit is located on the front right side of the house when looking at it from the gravel drive way. It has it's own private entrance through the sliding door as pictured above. Please note that there is currently no fence dividing the two properties in the garden so the outdoor space in front of the unit is not private but can be used freely by guests.

Other things to note
Infants (up to 2 years old) are more than welcome at no extra cost however guests will need to organise their sleeping arrangement (bed, bedding) as we are unable to provide this. Please remember to add them to your booking.

Pets are also very welcome - we ask for a small pet fee so please also remember to add them when booking.

The bed is a queen size and the mattress is medium/firm.

We are located in a new subdivision which is still being developed. Due to this, there may be construction noise throughout the week which sometimes begins early morning.

As it is a new build, we are in the process of landscaping so the garden is still a work in progress!

This wee gem is an experience to say the least. You have to be capable of some "back to basics" living. By this you have to boil water to do the dishes and there is no washing machine but there is a Laundromat in town if you don't wish to do your washing by hand but be rest assured you will be cosy. If you suffer from vertigo this is not the nest for you to stay in as everything is on wheels which creates movement. "Wee Widja" is a mix of solar, power and no power so I suggest you bring a torch.

The space
But never fear for I am near should you need help in any way. It is 4 separate small buildings so you have to walk outside to get to them all. The toilet has no flush button! It is a "longdrop" toilet. The bedroom and bathroom don't have a heater. Glenorchy township is a brisk 5 minute walk so you are close to all it has to offer. Please ask questions before you book and note that we are about 54kms away from Queenstown at the head of the lake. Special conditions: No more than 2 people. There is a additional $30 cleaning fee per stay.

The space
If you're looking for a relaxing, fully-equipped, home for two, this is for you!

When you open the front door, you'll step into a spacious living room with big comfy couches and views of the garden and the mountains beyond.

For those nights you want to have 'in', expect a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prep a home-cooked meal. That means pots and pans, all your utensils, full-sized fridge (no freezer) and your basics like oil and salt and pepper.

Also, in my opinion, evenings 'in' are best spent with the lamps on and lights off ;) It's a lovely, cosy vibe.

If you've been out exploring (there are lots of options on your doorstep) and need to warm up, the shower in the bathroom runs hot (you'll definitely appreciate that one in winter!) and there's also a washing machine for when you need to catch up on laundry.

In your full-sized bedroom, you'll find a queen bed, plenty of cupboard space, and views into the garden, which is nice if a morning cup of tea in bed is your thing.

Beyond that, you have a private garden and private veranda with a dining table set up for lunches outside.

Also, on the veranda, you'll find an exercise bike and free weights (just in case your exercise plans have fallen by the wayside while you've been travelling ;)

Please note: Our TV is not a smart tv and not set up with free to air channels. We do, however, have Chromecast which you can connect to the entertainment apps on your phone. We've also got excellent wifi.

About the area:

Lake Wakatipu is within walking distance (5 mins). Make yourself a cup of tea and take it to the lake with you. The tea tastes better with the view ;)

You're within walking distance of Mrs Woolly's Cafe (2 mins - great for coffees, lunch and desserts), Headwater's Eco Lodge (also 2 mins - for three-course dinners), and Glenorchy's two pubs.

The broader Glenorchy area (which is about 40 mins from Queenstown, and a really beautiful drive) is full of short walks, longer hikes, lots of outdoor activities, including options for water sports, horse riding, zip lining and more, all of which are right on your door step.

Continue driving past Glenorchy and you're in Mount Aspiring National Park. It's full of beautiful scenery and well worth exploring.

Please note: The cosy home sits next door to another accommodation (a tiny house) which is on the same property however they're separated by a fence so you'll still have complete privacy during your stay.

You'll have access to the entire house, other than two closets (master bed and one of the guest rooms) and a couple drawers in the kitchen. The two small garden outside sheds are also private.

At the top of the lake and in the heart of the mountains you'll find wonderful Glenorchy, which is only 45 km away from Queenstown. Here's a great opportunity to find peace and tranquility at our lovely Eco-friendly family home, only 1 km away from the main hub of Glenorchy and right next to the Glenorchy-Queenstown Road. Head out and enjoy the many walking tracks, famous Great Walks, boating, fishing and horse riding options or relax and unwind in and around house.

The space
We provide a warm and sunny two bedroom house. One master bedroom with an attached ensuite and a second bedroom with a trundle bed that has 2 single mattresses. There is a second bathroom attached to the living room (with sink, shower and toilet), a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable and cosy living and dining room area. There is a wood burner for colder times and romantic evenings and a heat pump as an easier option , a smart TV to watch anything online or to use your USB based media, lots of books to read during your stay, a washing machine for your convenience and plenty of off-street parking on the property and close to the house. Check out the herb & vegetable garden for some fresh greens and fruit, depending on the time of year. The house has a front and back deck and our property is large enough to go for a wander. Don’t be surprised if the ponies will come to the fence to say hello. It’s a true country side experience.

Our driveway is off the main road. Parking is off road and close to the house. Plenty of space to park a boat. Main entrance to the house is at the kitchen door where you’ll find a keypad to lock the door. A key and door code will be provided after booking. Guests are able to use the whole two bedroom house on the property, it’s outside decks and expansive lawns.

Other things to note
Our home is fully equipped and you are welcome to use and read all that can be found. We trust you to leave the house in the same way as found and don't take anything off our property but great thoughts, photos and fond memories. Leave everything that’s ours on the property for others to enjoy.

Feel free to bring your own barbecue, charcoal, fire lighters etc, but be considerate . Check the weather and wind and if there is a fire ban or not.

This is a brand new house in Glenorchy, with views of the surrounding mountains. It is located just a five minute easy walk from the local pubs, and cafes.

Glenorchy is the gateway to all of the Mount Aspiring National Park walks, jet boating, horse riding, hunting, fishing and heli skiing.

The space
You will have the whole house, which is on a 800sqm section to yourself.
There are two bedrooms with a Queen bed and family bathroom next door. The other room is a large en-suite with super king bed, walk in wardrobe, mountain views and access out onto the garden.

The house has a wood burner and heat pump with a heat transfer system to keep the whole house warm and cosy on the coldest of winter nights .

Our scenic Studio is a unique property with a distinctive style. It's a newly built, high-spec home with a mezzanine bedroom, a spacious double garage, and a beautiful bathroom.
The property also features a large, sunny private section and breathtaking views. Covered in native bush, it provides a private, tranquil and secluded outdoor space.

We've designed our Studio to embracetue Alpine scenery and the dark sky experience, with big windows and no curtains. For guests who are sensitive to light while sleeping, we provide eye masks.

Our wonderful home is located right on the waterfront reserve. Up close watch people wandering around the foreshore (including the jet boat marina, the long wharf and the iconic red shed). Gaze across the glistening lake to the spectacular mountains on the far shore. The house (built in 2016) is warm, bright and spacious! It is fully wheelchair accessible. The village shops are just a short stroll away. [Glenorchy is a 40-minute scenic drive from Queenstown].

The space
Recently constructed, this contemporary architecturally designed home has all the modern comforts. It has polished concrete floors, timber joinery imported from Estonia, and native timber ceilings. It is a thermally efficient home with plastered concrete walls and wool insulation throughout, warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The stormwater off the roof is collected for irrigation and the solar panels help to reduce our carbon footprint.

Experience the light-filled open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area, connecting to a lush grass lawn. The modern kitchen is fully equipped for all your culinary needs and you can also enjoy the outdoor dining area with gas BBQ.

A cedar and stainless steel hot tub is available for guest use any time. The views of the Southern Cross and Milky Way stars at night are unbelievably good.

The home features 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and tiled ensuite with shower and WC. The second bedroom has 2 single beds. The second bathroom also has a shower and WC and it links to the laundry where there is a tub, washer & dryer.

Stay comfortable year-round with a heat pump for winter warmth and summer cooling.

Set in a tranquil rural location, you'll find chickens, sheep, and bee hives on the property, all securely fenced. Feel free to interact with them or admire from afar.

Close to the Routeburn, Caples, Dart-Rees and all the local hiking trails.

Glenorchy township, 6km away, offers basic groceries, coffee spots, gifts, and limited dining options. Fuel is available 24/7 with card payment.

Enjoy scenic day trips up the valleys to Paradise, where you can explore historical gold and scheelite (tungsten) mining sites, wade in glacier melt water, or simply relax in serene surroundings. Pack a picnic or use our portable gas BBQ to savor nature's beauty.
