The Crawfords Retreat is a fully renovated 2 storey house at the end of a cul de sac.
You enter the building through the front porch, coming into the main hallway.
To the left you will find the lounge with a splash of colour, a fireplace, heatpump and comfortable seating.
Two couches that can be folded out into two double beds.
There is a walkthrough that goes straight from the lounge into the kitchen/ dining area.
It is a modern kitchen with a fan bake oven by Bosch and a ceramic top by Beko. Enjoy some cooking, working on the granite bench-top or grab some local takeaways from Kings Fishmarket.
Through the kitchen or down the hallway, you get to the back of the house with the laundry and seperate toilet.
The tiled main bathroom has a shower, toilet and modern vanity.
There are 4 bedrooms upstairs, starting with the "kids" bunks room down the hallway. Beside that is the master bedroom withe a double bed, wardrobe and access to the balcony, overlooking the gardens and the north side of Invercargill.
Next is another double bed bedroom with a feature light ceiling and wardrobe, with views of the garden.
Bedroom number 4 has a king size bed and a feature light wall. There is a wardrobe also.
All main bedrooms catch the sun, but this one also gets the morning sun.

Just ten minutes drive from the centre of Invercargill, our crib is a cosy 1930’s cottage with beachside charm, part of a small settlement nestled in the sandhills of Oreti Beach on Foveaux Strait. This 2-bedroom unit is in a central location and is handy to the Windsor shops and across the road from the Northern Pub. It is a quiet warm unit with off street parking for one vehicle. The single two beds are King Singles. There is a washing machine, Fridge Freezer and Deep Freezer. There is a large Heat Pump in the unit so you will never be cold.
This unit is a 10-15min walk to the central city and all Invercargill has to offer, such as the transport museums, Queens Park and E A Hayes (the home of Burt Munros' Fastest Indian Motorbike).
Invercargill is the gate way to Stewart Island for a lovely day trip.
We would be happy to negotiate down to a two-night stay for but there would be a cleaning charge of $100.

Our 4 bedroom house has been recently fully renovated to brand new build quality and boasts 2 full bathrooms including an extra large shower and bath in the main bathroom. With 3 large double rooms with queen beds and 1 smaller room with two single beds.Our home also includes a large outdoor area with a BBQ.
Quiet area only 5 minutes walk to a large supermarket and restaurants as well as 7 minute drive into Invercargill CBD and 10 minutes from the airport.

This former shop and dye factory has been redeveloped to welcome executive visitors. Particular attention has been paid to highlighting its heritage values and character features within.

The luxurious apartment consists of 2 generous bedrooms with one queen bed in one and two king singles in the other. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen that fronts to a breakfast bar and an open-plan lounge. A modern bathroom with exposed brick feature wall completes the package.

The site itself was the location of a former bakery that existed on the site from 1885 to 1926 after which the current building was constructed. It was built as a shop, workshop and fabric dying factory complete with an upstairs dwelling for a Mr W Jenkinson in 1928.

The building has had a number of subsequent uses over the years including for Corinthian Sports Club, Invercargill Working Mens Club and the Invercargill Leather and Craft Centre. Following alterations in 1985 the building was known as Oreti house and was home to Alsweiler and Co Chamber of Commerce and the National Heart Foundation. The Southland Regional Development Council also used the building.

By 2017, the scheduled heritage building fell into disrepair and was purchased by the current owners in 2019 and completely upgraded over the following two years.

Whilst there is no onsite parking, there is plenty of street parking as well as an EV charging station right next door.

- "Property is as presented and in great condition. Just a couple of issues with our stay that made the experience less than ideal. Firstly, internet was not available as advertised, no internet at all for the duration of our 2 night stay. The TV has no antenna and is set up as a smart TV which was useless for the entirety of our stay. Property management were contacted and as we were staying over a weekend, we were advised it could not be resolved, which frankly isn’t acceptable.The property has a galley style kitchen, which is equiped with appliances that are more than suitable. However, the lack of appropriate cookware made the induction cooktop and oven redundant. Two frying pans and the world’s smallest saucepan were the extent of the cookware provided. I would expect more when a full kitchen is provided. There was a missing plate and a cracked plate that was too dangerous to use. This made feeding more than 2 people at a time a challenge, with bedding for 4, sufficient crockery should be supplied.Finally, there is insufficient seating for meals. 3 stools are provided, again with sleeping for 4 this is a pretty large miss.The amount charged for this stay was one of the more expensive available in the area and unfortunately the experience didn’t meet the expectations based on the features advertised and the amount charged.The issues we experienced can be easily rectified and the property could be a highlight in downtown Invercargill. "

Get away from it all when you stay close to the stars. It’s a unique up cycled pod with built with love. Warm and comfortable getaway in suburbia. A little warm shack with a field kitchen and up cycled facilities and amenities ( outside sheltered). Warm and cosy. You’ll love it. There is only 1 bed in this listing.

The space
A unique little pod. please don't book if you want normal or perfect. This is quirky and unique. It has one small room, double bed, 2 chairs and a Chromecaste tv.
Under the veranda is a field kitchen ( means outside) with gas hot water and a sink. Electric jug, tea and coffee, small refrigerator. A gas cooker, toilet A beaut covered private outdoor shower is 20 metres away.( back veranda of house) which is for your exclusive use, or choose the field shower at your back door.( this may get dusty which is beyond our control.)

The pod is sheltered and you can watch the birds on the Harakeke ( flax) at the door step.
The place sleeps two, electric blanket on the bed. Towels provided.

Close to everything but secluded.
Close to the Ferry terminal, Gateway to Rakioura Stewart Island.
Close to World famous Stirling Point, Bluff Hill lookout and the Adventure Park for walks and mountain biking. Marine Museum. The Ships graveyard is a lovely walk. Base for Bluff Shark Experience. Awesome sunrises and sunsets and becoming very popular to star watch or be fascinated by the Australis Aurora.
Walking distance to Haz at the Anchorage for the finest local cuisine.
( Bluff Oysters in season) Local harvested whitebait, famous blue cod or our beautiful namesake the Pāua.
The beginning or the end of the famous Te Araroa trek. So stay as you come or go.

You may wake up to the sound of the hens next to you. that's where they live.
You may also use the two chairs in the tunnel house, especially if it’s windy or cold it’s a relaxing spot too. ( a bit overgrown at the moment)
It may get windy and with that comes the rattling windows and the dust/ leaves. Not the place for you if you are too fussy.

You won’t be disappointed with this little spot if you like different.
Internet with Chrome cast on TV. Please don’t unplug these two plugs as it puts the Chromecaste out.

It’s listed with internet and any time we are there we test it, it is usually fine . For some it seems to drop out at times which is beyond my control but I can test it if I’m at home so let me know if this happens and I can reboot it. Apologies in advance.

The Pāua Pod has its own space. The rest of the yard is still under continual tidy development as we clear up and make more amenities .
We are working on an outdoor bath atm.

The Pāua Pod is on the back section of Kotuku Cottage. Down long driveway.
Other guests may be in the other unit on the property also (grey colour). The Kina Cabin, or the front house. Kotuku Cottage.

The outdoor field kitchen is open to the elements but reasonably sheltered. If it’s windy the area may get dusty with pea straw,leaves and dust. Sometimes the birds fly by leaving deposits.This is beyond our control. Some say noisy in the wind but I have not experienced that.
Two options for showers - camp shower out back of pod ( this option is not available at the moment while we reconstruct. Or at the back of the house down the driveway ( back veranda) for your personal use during daylight hours only as no lighting for night showering. Sometimes this is dusty from the wind.

The Pod has its own small space. So not much room inside for large suitcases or packs. Veranda room for those or your car.
To stay you need a sense of adventure.
It’s a work in tidy progress including the yard.
Please do not drive on the lawn to turn your vehicle, and there is no turning in driveway. It is a long driveway if you drive in you have to back out. Back in or out.
When the sun shines in and it’s hot there is a window behind the bed that opens, the large window slides across for a wide opening as well as the door and the little heater has a fan on it, all for ventilation.
projects on track are the outdoor bath area to complete and adding to the gardens, also adding a close by permanent shower close by.

The Garden room is in a quiet area of Bluff overlooking the harbour.
The property has 3 accommodation areas each with private access.
The Garden room is on the ground floor with sliding door access.
The garden is a sun trap, but there is a heat pump for cold nights too.
The accomodation has a driveway for parking (this is shared with the other accommo), but there is plenty of safe parking on the street.
The ferry terminal (500m) and supermarket (400m) are a short walk away.

The space
Please note the accomodation does not have a kitchen. There are basic tea & coffee facilities with a microwave, toaster, kettle and basic cutlery, plates, bowls cups etc.

Lovely little cottage.

The space
This lovely cottage is under tidy renovation at the moment( not effect your stay). Two bedrooms to use. Built around 1915 it is a great example of a bye gone era. The floors are are bit uneven and noisy in places and on a windy day the kitchen chimney rattles a bit. There are still a few drafts to fix up, but does not effect comfort.
If you want perfection this is not the place for you.
It’s a work in progress and it’s full of charm.
All 3 TVs all use a dish tv box and all have chrome cast .
If the wind is blowing there may be some dust.

Heated lounge,kitchen and bedrooms by a heat pump. The potbelly stove to heat the kitchen dining room and bathroom set ready to light.
Limited wood in side .
I’m trying to get a balance of reused items to decorate the space.
Such a sunny home on a good day.

A note on pricing
Some people feel that hosts make a lot of money on our listings. Not so here at Kotuku Cottage we charge $110 / $120 + a night + seperate cleaning fee which makes a multi night stay much cheaper.
This must cover electricity, gas, rates, insurance, mortgage, maintenance including the gardens and lawns, internet and consumables.
Airbnb charge you for using their service ( service fee) and then they charge us a fee also. So there is not much wriggle room on pricing. We have not increased fees for 3 years but it will have to happen soon.
The Government started charging GST for which we have no control.

Please note that consumables are provided as a starter pack and you are required to top up with your own purchases.

Because it’s being renovated there a still a few drafts that require fixing. This does not effect your comfort.
Pet friendly, but permission must be gained for any pet.
Expect a shared back veranda and driveway of property yet still private.
Guests in Tiny house may be present especially in busy times.
If Cottage guests use the back veranda area they are expected to clean and tidy as soon as finished as this area is mainly for Tiny House guests

This Art Deco inspired home is a Bluff landmark. Built by the Arnett family in the 1940s, it is named "Poutama" after the Tītī Island where they went muttonbirding.

The home has three bedrooms and an open plan lounge, dining-nook and kitchen. North facing, it offers sun-drenched views of Bluff's waterfront, especially from its large sunroom that contains one of two work spaces.

A two minute walk to a well-stocked dairy, it is a great base from which to enjoy Bluff or visit Stewart Island.

Arygle Beach House is situated less than 100 metres from the beach and is within 10 minutes walking distance to the Stewart Island Ferry Terminal and local town amenities.

Our house is a short 15-minute walk to the end of highway 1 signpost and the gateway to many superb walking tracks around Bluff Hill.

Surrounded in natural light, the Argyle Beach house is a warm and inviting house equipped with a gas fire and airconditioning/heat pump and has free Wi-Fi.

The space
Modern kitchen facilities are available with an electric oven, hob/stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, jug/kettle, toaster and rice cooker. Tea, coffee and basic condiments are supplied.

The house is perfect for families as the master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and flat screen TV, along with a set of drawers. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and a set of drawers. The third bedroom has a double bed. Each bed is made up with fresh linen and warm blankets. There is electric blankets on all of the beds. Extra pillows and blankets are available in each room if needed. There is also a portable cot available. There is an oil heater in the cupboard in the hallway for heating the bedrooms during the cooler months.

The living room has a flat screen TV with chromecast available for live streaming from your devices. There is a DVD available for use on those rainy days and a collection of DVD’s, books and games.

There is a recently renovated bathroom. A hairdryer is available. Separate laundry available with washing machine and dryer.

Two identical studio units each with rear entrance and large ranch-slider doors at the front to make the most of the stunning views! Free parking at the rear of your unit. Your unit is situated behind your host's home (our home is more prominent from this studio - but definitely doesn't block your views of the water!). We offer a slightly reduced room rate for this studio as a result.

We like to let you get on with your visit uninterrupted and independent of us. We are just a text message away if you need anything.

Guest access
Guests access the unit completely independently. The lockbox has your key - and you can come and go as you choose.

Guests can access the unit from the front ranchslider or the rear door at the back of the unit.

We love to look after people through food. So we have added light breakfast options for guests to purchase. There is no pressure at all to order - however many guests have either asked for it, or said it was a helpful service. Check out the options / prices in the photo gallery. See your Guest Manual in your studio for details and payment.

We can provide an additional bed and bedding if required. We have a hotel quality, comfortable, single trundler bed with extra linen/duvet/pillows etc - that we will leave in the room for you to make up when you need it. If you are travelling with family, a work colleague, or friend, and the one queen bed maybe not quite right for your needs, this gives you more options. There is a $40 per night charge for this option to cover extra linen, laundry, and cleaning costs.

If you require the extra bed, EVEN IF THERE ARE ONLY TWO OF YOU, please select the 3 GUESTS OPTION in your booking to ensure the bed is available for you.

We can also provide a portacot for babies/infants. Please request this at the time of booking as it is subject to availability. We provide cot sheet, cot mattress protector, and a cot duvet (all freshly washed after the previous use).

We don’t to surprise you so please read carefully before you decide to book. This a unit within a duplex building and it’s an old building so the walls are fairly thin. If someone is staying next door you will be able to to hear them. So please do not book if this will bother you. Adding on to that, for the same reason, the place can host up to 10 guests. Bluff is mostly cold, warm clothing is highly recommended! Air condition is unfortunately broken but there are 2 heaters to work the magic.

Stay at Nautical Nest for work or play, and enjoy ocean glimpes in comfortable surroundings while exploring all that Bluff has to offer - scenic coastal walks, wildlife, fishing, Aurora Borealis to name a few!

It's a 2 minute walk to Morrison Beach where you can spot sea lions or just enjoy the view. The ferry terminal for Stewart Island is only a short walk away, as is 4 Square supermarket, restaurant, takeaway's and pubs. Foveaux Walkway & Stirling Point is also walkable or a 2 min drive.

The space
Nautical Nest is a newly renovated 1950's property with original features. The accommodation is a 116m2 two bedroom, self contained unit with everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

The spacious bedrooms each have a king bed and a single bed, blackout curtains and storage. A fixed wall heater will keep you cosy and warm in cold weather, and one of the rooms also has a TV with Freeview channels.

The fully air-conditioned open-plan living area has a full kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge, oven, induction cooktop, and everything you could need to cook anything you desire. Basic pantry items are included - salt/pepper, oil, soy sauce, sauces, cling wrap, alfoil and dish washing detergent. Tea, Coffee and sugar are also provided.

The seating area has 2 comfortable couches, large screen TV with Freeview channels and DVD player with lots of movies. You will also find puzzles, games, guides on NZ flora & fauna, and info on the local area and attractions. Binoculars for bird spotting are also included - we have resident Tui's who sing regularly in the backyard trees!

The modern bathroom has a large shower, heated towel rail, heat lamp and fan heater to keep you toasty warm. Welcome toiletries like body wash, shampoo and conditioner are provided. There is a separate room with toilet and handbasin.

The laundry has a large commercial washer & dryer for your use. You will also find yoga mats, backyard games, beach umbrella & toys.

All towels and bed linen are provided for your stay. Just bring your suitcase, unpack and enjoy!

Welcome to the Cottage by the Sea!

Built in the 1910-1920s, this double storey old house is tucked away in Bluff, across from the sand and ocean!That's right, pulling the window open is the ocean view and you can step on the sand in two steps!The house, although a little older, is still full of life, and the two-story design is vintage and cute.3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, can accommodate up to 6 people, of course if anyone doesn't mind sleeping couch +1 more!

The 2 upstairs bedrooms face the ocean. Sunrise in the morning, listen to the sound of the waves fall asleep at night. The downstairs bedroom can also see the ocean.
!!! Please note!!! Because the house is not young, the soundproofing is not good. If the house next door is occupied, then you will hear the sound. The lodging upstairs will not be affected. Based on this, if you have more people, you can book it together:)

* There are many parking spaces at the door, and there are also places to park at the back of the house.
